Shuichi Shigeno (Japanese author profile: しげの秀一) is a manga artist, best known for the manga series Initial D. Shigeno has also created Bari Bari Densetsu, Dopkan, and Tunnel Nuketara Sky Blue ("First Love in Summer") all prior to the manga that would make him famous in 1995. In 1985, he received the Kodansha Manga Award in shōnen for Bari Bari Densetsu.

This is where things start getting heated. Little grudge matches between racers Tak has already beat and build up for a new enemy that doesn't have a fodder feel. Racing in the rain. Feels a little more dangerous than the duct tape race.

Knocking it down one star because from the last part of this book through 13, the Google Books version is scanned crap. It went from being one page full screen to a clearly scanned image with two pages on one screen without enhancements. It is nearly impossible to read the small text. Plus the translation went to crap as well and the next thing you know everyone has different names. I bet even the dialogue was changed as well.

The volume focuses on a race between people who lost to the MC, it wasn’t really anything compelling, but the emphasis of these teams actually being teams finally catches glimpses here and I’m happy for that. The next main villains seem to make an appearance here which is good. The MC is given a surprise race in the rain but it’s in the same track he’s always raced I believed and it’s against a lackey of one of the groups he beat the leader of so there is no way he’s going to lose ._.

El AE86 es como algo salido de Gundam o de Akira. It's mesmerizing.



Todavía no he definido bien la relación entre la evolución del personaje y el carro. Pareciera que su progresión como conductor es un reflejo de su crecimiento personal(?). Como que entre mayor dominio tiene sobre la máquina, menos control tiene sombre sus emociones y por consiguiente es más humano(?). Creo que después va a ser más claro.

Technical note: me parece que el de la foto y el del manga son distintos tipos del AE86.
