Leveling up. Fighting death. Living life to the max.
Zeke and his comrades have only been in their new world - Brindolla - for a short time, but every minute has been amazing. Kicking butt and not bothering to take names, the group has been moving forward in their quest to push back the galactic tyrant, War.
Then the unthinkable happens; their friend is banished to the darkest Hells. Poof. Gone, just like that. Now, not only are they on a quest to stop the vanguard of War, but they are going to need to get stronger, faster, and better than ever if they want to have any hope of busting into the Hells and getting their friend back. The Brindollan Gods plan to help as much as they can, but will it be enough to allow them to complete a task that even Orpheus couldn’t in Earth’s mythology?
With the odds looking bleak, and the world they’re trying to defend turning on them, they’re going to need to seek help from unlikely spaces, travel to new places, and break some faces.
Zeke and the gang continue on their adventure stopping War from infiltrating Brindolla, their new world, and if you liked the 1st book your going to love this one. More butt kicking, new discoveries, and visiting old friends as the gang prepares and searches for the Hells. Zeke and the guys lost a friend to being banished to the Hells, and they don't leave a friend behind. As the group searches for a way into Hell, they still have to contend with War's vanguard of War. They soon find out that even if they find a way into the Hells they are going to have to get stronger, faster, and find more even better loot to have any hope of getting their friend back. The Brindollan Gods are even helping out as much as they can by sending Zeke's roommate as some back up.
Zeke asking Mayba, the Seelie Queen of Ice and Darkness, to be his girlfriend was priceless and very interesting to see develop. Some other favorite moments was seeing the gang develop in their classes, MORE OF THE DWARVES, and the situation around meeting their first dragon. Something I love to see is the crew struggling in their situation while missing friends and family back home. Even how hard it was for them to have a friend missing had the group feeling emotional. The characters are just so very believable and Christopher Johns really has a way for you to feel the characters distress. Again, this series always feels like meeting up with great friends.
B.J. Harrison has gotten a bit better with a specialization in different accents for different races.

Fast paced, good length, writing improved from book one
I finished this one while on a few plane trips and couldn’t put it down. I really enjoyed the first book but was impressed at how much the author’s writing has improved.
Much of the same banter can be found in this one between the characters which I really enjoyed from the first one.
Also, very good/intense fight scenes, they will keep you immersed.
A couple other things I appreciated were the quick recap at the beginning and there is also an appendix with brief character descriptions and pronunciations which I found myself flipping to occasionally.
All in all a very solid book. I am excited to see a bit more progression in the next one, and will definitely pick it up once it comes out.
This is not the ideal starting point to the series, but the first book is also an enjoyable one, so I would recommend people try that one first before this one.
This instalment in the series works well to build on the strong start of the first, with a good rate of progression in the main characters and their skills, while also elevating the challenges they have to face in the process, helping to further flesh out the world of this series.
The narrator's performance maintains the high standard set in the first book with a wide range of tones and voices to bring the increasing cast to life.
Overall, a strong follow-up to the first book and one that drew me further into the series very effectively.
In my review of the first book in this series i said the characters often didn't resonate with me, that statement still holds here, but this book gives each of them a new depth of character and portrays some truly deep interactions between them. The situations they take part in are even better and more fun to read than the first book. As always ome of the different systema and ideas the author cones up with just outright cool. A very gratifying read for the gamer in me.
This book is a lot more focused, which I though was extremely distracting in book one. The "broskis" and general bromantic language is a lot more toned down, which made it for a much more enjoyable read in general.
There's still a bit of repetitiveness taking place, but you can see that the author and editing team used have gotten better since book one.
Overall, a fun read and there's definite promise looking forward.
This version of LitRPG has tons of abilities and secret options. While it is fun to read about the options, the story does a much better job of bringing them to bear. The Druid main character continues to grow, as do his friends, through some fun adventures. Clearly there is more to come in this story.
A small niggle for me is the frequent breaking of the 4th wall.
Absolutely bloody loved this book! So so good, in some LitRPGs it feels like you are left wanting more, and sure once you’re done with this book you’ll want the next one but you won’t be able to say you didn’t get your money’s worth! Adventure, crafting, levelling, pets, God’s, awesome weapons, interesting characters, awesome dragons, elementals, fake gods..... and so much more, this book has it all! Don’t hesitate just click the buy button you won’t regret it!
Blessings galore, and beatings and beratings, plus a little DTRing. Once again our guys find themselves in the thick of it since Balmur was yoinked away. Thankfully they're pretty nice to everyone they meet who isn't trying to kill them first, which leads to people liking them and giving then greats stuff. Sometimes they're even given stuff by the gods who aren't 100% happy with them, but tell them exactly what to do to get in their good graces.
Fun fun story. I really enjoyed the way Mr. Johns explored Brindolla and makes reality blend with a game system. The beginning of the book was a bit slow as far as tone and storytelling but once it reconnected with me as the reader I felt easily sucked back in and entranced with the progress of our cast of heroes
Really enjoying the story, the dream summoning is pretty neat Idea. I think the magic framework may be a little simple but it remains true to itself in the story. The biggest improvement in this book was the last page. The story was left at a more reasonable pace. We didn't fall of a cliff this time and the hints about the next book were reasonable
Christopher Johns takes us back to the world of his Axe Druid chronicles with Into the Dragon's Den. Love this world and the characters in it. Some of the most believable characters in a series I have come across in a long time.
I really wanted to dislike all the slang and brotalk, but it really works for the book. The author does a good job of keeping the various characters developing and moving the story.
Continues excellently from where the first book left off. The great style of storytelling makes the book a blast to read. More levels, more stats and some epic loot make this a must read
I did enjoy the story but I was slightly disappointed that all the lead up to the dragon ended with only a few chapters being spent with the dragon. Most of the story is all about gearing up, learning new skills, and leveling. The dragon is a small part of it.

Great continuation to the story. The action and adventure continue in earnest and nowhere does it feel bogged down by skill or stat info. I wholly enjoyed it and look forward to the next in the series.
This one is better than the first book. I can't wait for book three. Fast paced page turner with interesting characters that you can instantly root for.
The story was well paced and included many new adventures for our heroes. A great read that i would recommend. Looking forward to the next installment.
Some of the language is still lacking for my taste but again the concept is awesome. I'd love it if they would actually level and not get free OK abilities
Zeke and the gang's story continues, as they run into a few issues that will only help them get stronger - after all, they've got a buddy to go rescue!
Preparing To Enter Hell. The party/gamers get a new member, one a lover and all learn more about each other and themselves as they all prepare to enter Hell and get their friend back.
Action packed adventure. I feel like the pace has slowed down a bit from the first book. This allows us to get to know the characters better and for the plot to thicken as opposed to things happening non stop. I enjoyed this more first book which I thought was a lot of fun too.
I’ve enjoyed the first and second books, but for two points. I would have liked to see a little more character development - they seem a little shallow - and the over use of cussing. I get it, but not being able to go three dialogue sentences without dropping something is a bit extreme.
