Little Fox is walking in the woods with Daddy, playing with leaves from the trees. Little Fox thinks the trees reach right up to the top of the sky, but Daddy Fox explains that the sky reaches much, much higher! Soon Little Fox discovers that the sky goes on forever, just like love.
Little Fox is collecting falling leaves, but there are so many, right up to the top of the sky, Little Fox tells Mommy Fox. But Mommy Fox says there’s something even higher than the trees.
Is it bees? Is it birds? Maybe it’s the rainbow.
But each time Little Fox guesses, Mommy Fox always says there’s something higher. What can it be?
Charming, colorful illustrations accompany this tender tale of a mother’s love. The targeted audience is the young reader, ages four through eight [preschool through third grade]. This tender story celebrates the beauty of nature and the strength of a mother’s love. The foil stars on the cover capture the young reader’s attention and those on the final page are both brilliant and comforting. It’s a perfect parent/child bedtime story.
I think that this would be an appropriate book to read from pre-k to kindergarten. This book is very colorful with beautiful illustration. The book is about curiosity and children are very curious, especially around this age. The things read in the book may shock the children and strike their curiosity. This would be a great book to keep on hand in-class, or to keep at home with your kids.
This book is so cute. The storyline is fun and keeps the audience captivated with curiosity. I love the way the story unfolds and recognizes unconditional love. Great book and definatley one I reccomend to others.
What starts off as Little Fox wanting to somehow catch every leaf as they fall from the trees leads to a discussion with his mommy about what's at the top of the sky. Through various examples by play, Little Fox receives a warm answer in the end.
This had the potential for being as saccharine as the Sam McBratney books. But somehow it stays on the right side of sweet. The glittery star effect near the end of the story (on the cover as well) is nice, but this would have been just as nice without the frill.
Not sure if this is purposely based upon "Guess How Much I Love You" but it rings similiar. Cute enough but I don't feel it to read to a group. Sweet as a bedtime story.
I am such a sucker for these illustrations. I like the multiple messages within the book. It tackled multiple subjects in a sneaky way. height, love, nature, etc
Good choice for JHS CDL! The little fox and his doting mother are adorable! I like the illustrations. This book shows how much love a mother has for her "kit!"
