This series began as a space opera harem story, but at least a well-written one. As time went on I found myself interested in the universe the author created, and the accretion of the centauri (polyamorous collection of women around one guy) made enough internal story logic that I could suspend disbelief and enjoy the ride.
Somehow the stakes keep escalating, and the male MC, arguably the weakest character in the relationship, has finally in this book justified his existence. The women are by and large much more "powerful" than he is, to the extent that I wasn't sure why some of them got with him, but my patience with that dichotomy has been rewarded here.
If you've liked the series to date you'll want to keep reading it as things get more and more "interesting" (in the Chinese curse sense) and I want to see where it goes.

Action packed space opera
This story arc seems to be closing at book 6, I am thoroughly enjoying the ride so far and hope the end will be just as kick-ass. So many elusive escapes, story twists and turns that trying to anticipate what will happen next is impossible. The characters are all flawed in some way and just seem to mesh together in this strange Centauri. I hope Jinx doesn’t deviate too much further from her original personality as I prefer the more hesitant and reluctant to kill version than the confident killer and leader she is quickly becoming. Looking forward to the next, possibility last book.

Good stuff!
The war was very cool, I love the first real big battle. It sounds like the Centauri is really coming together. They are definitely the heavy hitters of the galaxy.
