I wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless:
A) They are strong in their beliefs of a Christian
-- and --
B) They don't take it to the extreme to the heart.
Good LORD I can't believe this book. About half of it was worth reading and was VERY educational, but by the time you reached the 100th page, I'm finding it very difficult to stay focused. The first hundred pages I'm over here highlighting just about everything and as soon as I read the second half, it's about every ten or twenty pages that I find something to mark on. This book is SO pro-Christian and anti-satanic, which is good but not to this extreme.
I agree that churches should preach more about what demons are and what resides in Hell instead of giving us just enough to "frighten" us because it leaves the smart people to wonder what it is they're telling us to stay away from, but claiming a lot of the music we listen to as sent by the Devil? Claiming that somebody who fulfills an act of adultery (for example) is being possessed by a demon? That allowing ourselves to talk freely of "sin" is opening ourselves up to allow demons to "possess" us? That is BEYOND extreme.
This book is setting morals and judgment so flippin' high it's basically labeling our society a fallen nation to the Devil. Now yes, I agree that more than 90% of this country is a walking deceit and will be sent straight to Hell (me included since I judge people) and that we should all clean our acts up, but I don't follow the ordeals of this book, in which is seems like it's trying to put us back in that "prim" and "proper" uptight "Victorian" mindset; you know, the type you see Ellen in The Diary of Ellen Rimbauer or the other "Victorian aged films".
And the music of today is an opening for the Devil? They're referring to Rock & Roll, Rap, and Metal, right? Um, have they never heard of Demon Hunter, As I Lay Dying, Underoath, and Norma Jean? Those are Christian heavy metal/death metal bands (though I wouldn't be surprised if they haven't, because this book was re-printed in 1996).
So okay, yes, this book is good for an eye opener and it definitely points things out from more than just the Old Testament and the New Testament that I'm sure we've never looked at before, but it's so extreme that it also make you feel like a minion from Hell just for being in the same room and listening to a prostitute talk about her lingerie shopping. Then it goes to say that these "preachers" can and must purge that "demon" from your soul and you should do the same for yourself, tell the demon that you are not blah blah blah... yeah, you get me.
Well, I suppose it was worth the read because it added to my research of Demonology, but COME on... it was a big extreme, even for me (and I like extremities).
