While not a big page turner, it was really good for what it was and gave me a lot of important information in an understandable and not-too-dense way. Feel much more prepared for Russia after reading it.

Good overview of the political changes that occurred during the changeover from the Soviet Union to after the break up, with some insight into the political, religious, cultural, economic activities. It doesn't give much information about specific regions within the country.
