Another quality installment in this series, that actually allows us to see how Victor and Christian came to be.

Victor, a lawyer spoiling for a partner spot, realizes he’s attracted to men after a break up with a longtime girlfriend.

Christian, a freelance killer of bad guys, leaves one love across the pond, but soon loses his heart again.

Can these two who are definitely on opposite sides of the justice system, make it work?

Great book! Recommended.

Book Two of the Alternate Worlds Series takes place before the events of Follow Him Home

Before Peter, it was just Victor and Christian. That doesn’t mean it was simpler, because a hitman can’t exactly tell a lawyer what he does for a living. Their first night together is a whirlwind experience and afterwards they keep finding reasons to see each other again. But when Christian takes a job targeting one of Victor’s coworkers, it turns their relationship into a constant state of one-step forward, two steps back. The secrets start piling up, but it doesn’t change how either of them feels. The question is, can they really trust their hearts with someone who lives such a different life?

Even if it means a relationship with a body count.

3.5 Interesting premise

I ultimately liked this because I enjoy hitman stories but it was very confusing through the first half. Victor’s corporate business case was written very confusedly, too many names and much of the detail about it made little difference to the plot. It was distracting. I read this book first because of the blurb and I’m always nervous about MMM with an established couple, as book one indicates. The most intriguing part was how Christian’s job would be revealed to Victor. It was satisfactory, if not completely satisfying.

The book is well written, decently paced, it lagged a bit for me due to my total lack of interest in corporate legalese and merger shenanigans; the characters were well drawn, interesting and likeable. The different worlds colliding trope was well handled, in part, through alternating POVs and use of different environments for the two main characters. The side characters were decently fleshed out and the two females likeable and intelligent.

I enjoyed this story about a hitman and the lawyer who falls for him. I didn't read the first book in this series first and am actually glad I didn't because I believe it would have spoiled this one for me...already knowing how it turned out. First time MM and plenty of suspense and intrigue had me glued to the pages.

Love story with major twists

Christian is a hitman on a mission and Victor is an attorney. While they never imagined meeting nor was it convenient fate brought them together.

This was my intro to this author and despite some small editing mistakes and initially confusion at the beginning i enjoyed.

Interesting meet-cute between Victor and Christian. Things get dicey once they reveal their opposing professions, but it works out. I guess I could write more, but why spoil it for all you future readers. Enjoy!

Christian and Victor are awesome MC's! I loved the character development and the suspense of the story-line kept me thoroughly enjoying this fine book.
