If I could have written my story, it wouldn’t have started like this. I have dreams that are waiting to burst out of me, but my present is suffocating my future. I want more for myself regardless of who doesn’t.

I vow to find my center in a new city. I will be able to make any and every choice I want without guilt or fear. That is until I find myself terrified of something new, Julian Stone.

My heart is still healing but I find myself completely drawn to a man who is dark, sexy, passionate and terrified to live. I know how that feels. He appears to be living his dream, but can’t lay his past to rest. It bleeds into his every waking moment.

I want to leap headfirst into him, believing he will catch me.
If he does, I know together we can tear down everything holding us back and build something stronger.
Together, we will be whole.

I have come to a point in my life where I don't see that I should force myself to finish a book anymore.

I'm giving my thoughts and feelings here. I enjoyed the writing but it was all too quick.

The book starts off with the heroine of the book meeting someone and being in an abusive relationship.

I assume the Hero who is Julian also met someone but before they could get married she died in a car crash. For his family now he is to date his dead financée's sister. Towards his father he behaved more like a sixteen year old and not the twenty four year old he is meant to be. But his issues are IMO first class citizen problems. Yeah I know I'm heartless.

I find the timeline a bit odd as well. The H/h obviously have a life before they meet. But we get April 6, 2016 then May 13, 2017 and then March 11, 2018 - May 12, 2018. I assume the h/H meet in 2018 but the time they have to get to know one another is weird.

It's ME and NOT the book.

I find the time line a bit odd

Turn to Stone, the first book in The Stone Series, and the debut novel by Ariana Rose was a wonderful start to a writing career.

It's a story full of tension, angst, love, and intrigue. Alexandra and Julian, the main characters, have both endured so much in their lives, and they can't seem to catch a break.... except for when fate puts them smack dab into each other's paths...literally.

Their connection is instant and the struggles that ensue to make something work together leave the reader on the edge of their seat, hoping and rooting they can overcome all the obstacles in their way and finally reach their happily ever afters.

It's not easy for them. And there are plenty of forces working to keep them apart. But that's part of the draw to their story. They're both the underdogs in their lives, and who doesn't love to root for the underdog?!

Turn to Stone is definitely a book I would recommend to others to read!

I was lucky enough to read this story early and let me tell you.... It's so good.
This is the debut novel by this author and honestly, you can't tell. She feels these characters in her soul and it shows.
It's swoony, a little steamy, and beautifully written.
I cannot wait for book 2 to see how this story continues!

This is a story filled with emotions from beginning to end. You are pulled in from the start and at times it feels as if you are standing right there next to Alexandra and Julian. You feel their pain and want to step in to shield them from more. You sense their immediate connection to each other and rejoice in their coming together. The further you become immersed in their lives you may find yourself breathless in anticipation of what’s to come. Will it be the heartbreak that usually follows star crossed lovers or the joy of finding the HEA that comes to those whose love is written in the stars?

This book has all the feels in it. There’s toxic love and love lost. There’s malicious family maneuverings and strong family support. There’s frustration, angst, anger, and heartache, but more importantly there is also hope, joy, passion and love. This is an absorbing tale with strong, interesting characters, and an engaging narrative that will keep your attention from start to finish. I highly recommend this as an amazing must read!!

Loved it! Turn to Stone is book one in the Stone Series and Ariana Rose’s debut book. This story had a bit of everything and I thoroughly enjoyed reading! There were tears, laughter, anger and angst. It was definitely an emotional read and I really felt Julian’s heartache and conflict although Alexandra isn’t without her demons too. I can’t wait for book two, I need more!

Holy epic romance! This book had me by the heart strings. This is a raw and emotional romance that dives deep into true feelings, most that we try to ignore. Julian is an actor, still trying to survive the death of the love of his life, his fiancé. There are people in his life controlling him and they really don't care about his happiness. Then he meets Alexandra "Lex." She is the new PA on the set of his current project. She has her own scars. She left an abusive man. Both of them are hurting. They can't fight the attraction. But Julian is being forced into something he doesn't want by his father and his ex fiancé's sister. Julian and Lex romance has to be a secret but they both deserve better. Julian has to make the choice if he's going to stand up to the bullies in his life or let them take away his second chance at happiness. Lex has to decide if she wants to be just in the shadows or if she is strong enough to stand up for herself and what she deserves. I just freakin' love this couple! They were so real! I felt their emotions and I understood them. This is a book that needs to be a movie. And there is more! Don't worry you aren't left with a devastating cliffhanger but you know will feel that their story isn't over yet. Good. I need more #julex!

Turn To Stone by Ariana Rose my rating is 4.5

This is beautiful, emotional YA love story about two people dealing with intense emotional issues. Both Alexandra and Jullian are in an abusive relationship, and their tattered souls don’t know the way out. Until they meet, and everything starts to change, their hearts cast in stone start to beat again. This beautifully written emotive story, a perfect mix of heartbreak and angst, love and hope. I definitely recommend it to lovers of sweet, angsty romance.

Alexandra leaves her abusive fiance Hunter and escapes to start her new life. Julian meets her at the park, and both feel instant chemistry spark their dull and tortured souls. Both Julian and Alexandra are going through some emotional issues, and after the scars been left by two people they try to learn to live without, they don’t expect their hearts beat this way again.

They meet at the filming studio were Alexandra starting as an assistant and Julian is a lead character. Julian tries to deny their connection, being brash and rude to her so no one would pay attention to sweet girl he met. He feels guilt and seeks to honor the death of the girl he lost, but the newfound connection is too hard to ignore.

There are many people trying to keep them apart. Quinn, the Jullians acting partner, begins to show her possessiveness and her true colors. And there is a threat of Hunter finding Alexandra? Julian is also dealing with an abusive father and his demands, hates his life with vengeance and it shows how he treats Lex. But Lex promised herself that she won’t take obnoxious behavior from any man.

The problem is Julian is grieving, and someone needs to be there for him, show him kindness and unconditional love.

4 Star review of Turn To Stone (The Stone Series #1) by Ariana Rose
Not only is Ariana Rose a new author to me, but I believe that this is also her debut novel. I was impressed with Ms. Rose’s writing and found myself invested in the story. This is a beautifully written story of love, courage and overcoming the odds.
Julian Stone is a shell of man after having lost the love of his life in an accident. He has no self confidence and as turned into a yes man, who has no backbone. There were times when he really frustrated me, I just wanted to smack him across the head and shake some sense into him.
Alexandra Taylor is engaged to Hunter, but she is not particularly happy. When she finally decides enough is enough she leaves.
When Julian and Alexandra meet there is obvious chemistry yet both are recovering from their pasts. Turn To Stone is certainly a roller coaster of an emotional journey and I was intrigued with how the story would pan out.
Will these two lonely and broken souls forge a path together or will the scheming and manipulation from within their families mean that these two are destined to be star crossed lovers? One click and find out.

Turn to Stone by Ariana Rose packs quite an emotional punch!!!!

If you are looking for a book with angst, drama, and some good romance, this is a book not to be missed. Alex and Julian are two scarred souls who meet by chance but who feel an instant pull toward each other.

Both characters are flawed, complex, and scarred, but for very different reasons. Alex is fleeing a horrible relationship and trying to start over. Julian is still heartbroken and devastated after losing the woman he loved. He isn’t looking to get involved with anyone, that is, until Alex entered his world. It should be simple that these two wounded people would find comfort, acceptance, and love with one another. But, it isn’t that simple….Julian is fighting his feelings, and in the meantime, outside forces are conspiring to keep these two apart! Get ready for an emotional journey!!!!

This is Ariana Rose’s debut novel, and I never would have guessed it. The plot, the character development, and her writing illustrate that she is definitely a writer to watch. I always get excited when I find a new author who knows how to write a good story, so I’m anxious to read the next part in this series!

First novels by an author are fun to read.

This one takes us on the journey of Lex and Julian, a couple who seem destined despite all the roadblocks in their path.

They both have pasts to overcome and find spark and solace in one another. Their relationship is rocky and emotional, but palpable and magnetic. But sometimes something so right and natural comes with strings.

I loved both Lex and Julian. I wanted for them to be happy.

My only complaint is that it isn't a stand alone, and I didn't know going in that this would be a book one. I hope book two is quick to follow.

Ariana Rose’s debut novel is a whirlwind of emotion. The story of Alexandra and Julian is one of a quintessential push-pull; and had me anxiously turning pages to find out this captivating couple’s destiny.

Showing elaborate character development, this story quenched my desire for intricate description that I often crave as I read. Secondary characters were brought into the story line as needed and were focused on just enough to lend to the story’s unraveling.

I thoroughly enjoyed Rose’s first book. The story and characters pull you in, and completely capture your interest. Being a new fan, I am so excited to read more from this amazing author.

When two people, caught up in the happy memories of their past and both living a not-so-happy present, meet, it is as if fate is giving them a second chance at a future.

Caught in an unhappy engagement, with circumstances that make it difficult to just walk away, Alexandra meets Julian, who is intriguing and special, and perhaps she can be strong enough to leave. However, Julian's story is one of heartbreak and tears. He'd found his true love and life was perfect, until it wasn't, leaving him as the shell of a man simply existing in life.

This debut novels definitely doesn't read like one, and allows the reader to go on this journey with the characters, feel what they feel, and make them eager to know what happens next.

You definitely don't want to miss their story.

Bring on the angst romance feels comrades! I need a good passionate cry and I feel like this one will be a doosey! Seriously, who doesn't like a good damsel romance with climatic drama to make my spidey senses tingle in all the right places?

Alexandria (or Lex) is an interesting character. Slightly an enigma to me. Lex is one of these characters that has an intriguing backbone towards her storyline, she is fierce, passionate yet at many points seems slightly inferior. She is the true definition of 'Damsel in Distress'. Normally this would irk me, but when this is mixed with Julian it just spirals deliciously. Her character really depends on the strength of his personality, and he is power. I think honestly this is why their connection works, Julian is broken, he is completely shattered yet here is Lex, someone damaged yet tugs him, they just rotate seemliness.

And speaking of how they mix - that chemistry... oh my lanta. From the moment Lex and Julian collide it is intense, all consuming passion and I was melting off my seat. That rain scene - oh my goodness. For me personally I love these types of romances, even the damsel scenario, it just played to absolute perfection.

The drama however was a smidge of a push-pull on my hate/love meter. I enjoyed the elaborate character dynamics, there was depth that really had a phenomenal additive to the growth of the characters themselves. However where things got a little overwhelming for me was as the secondary characters added more and more spin drama - it was just a whirlwind of information that domino into a cluster fuck... honestly good and slightly awkward, but not bad. I don't want to say, because it would be a huge spoiler, but for me there were more exaggerated points in the drama I felt could have been toned down and where there were overshadowed scenes there could have been more development that felt lack luster.

Overall though, hands down I gotta admit, Ariana Rose has me hooked. I enjoyed her debut novel immensely. Between the drama escalating at every corner, the heighten passion in the romance and the push and pull of every aspect of the character dynamics - I honestly cannot get enough. I cannot wait to see what is next...especially considering that ending - I NEED MORE!

Turn to Stone is the first in the Stone Series by Ariana Rose. This book has been on my to-read list forever! If I had known how much I would have enjoyed this book, I would have picked it up a long time ago. While I had some hesitations after reading the synopsis, I am so happy that I took a chance on this book!

There was so much to this book that I enjoyed. The characters, Alexandra (Lex) and Julian, were the best part of the book. Honestly, the first part of the book was pretty slow for me, but when Lex and Julian met was when the book really picked up. Their relationship changed the pace a couple of times, but after reading about the character's backgrounds, it really made sense. Many times their relationship will go a step forward, but then take two steps back. At first, it was pretty annoying, but as I got further in the book, I really appreciated the set pace. Lex and Julian had many obstacles to overcome, but with each obstacle came growth and learning. There was so much that I really did enjoy about Turn to Stone.

If I had any issues with Turn to Stone, it would be with the last couple of chapters. I loved the slow progression of the relationship throughout the book. I was at 82% was wondering how this whole issue would be resolved, and bam! It was over. There so many questions that I have at the end of the book that I have to find out.

In short, I would highly recommend this book. Although it did take me a while to pick up and read once I started and got to Lex and Julian's meeting, I could barely put it down. While I did have a small issue with this book, as a whole, I immensely enjoyed this book. While I do have some questions, I am fortunate that when I received this book from the author, I also received the second in the series, No Stone Unturned. I will definitely be reading the second book, and it won't take me very long to pick it up!

I love being introduced to new authors who pull you in with their unique storytelling style. Ariana Rose's debut Turn to Stone is an amazing read. Right off the bat she pulls the reader into the minds of her characters. Alexandra's life in Minneapolis looks to be perfect on the outside, engaged to an up and coming lawyer in her dad's firm, but that is hardly the truth.
Running to a future she has always dreamed of, she collides with Julian, who had the near perfect life until tragedy struck. The couple meet unexpectedly and an emotional tsunami occurs. Both have sworn off the idea of love because of their pasts. Not only do they live close together but they also work on the same televison series. The push and pull between the couple is palpable, as is the sexual chemistry. However, factors are at play that seem destined to pull them apart.
Ms. Rose's characters are likable and well-developed. Her banter is realistic, she extracts real emotions from her characters, and her sex scenes are HOT! Her writing is crisp and the plot is well-paced with just enough detours to make the couple's journey less than smooth. While the author provides an HEA and it could be read as a standalone, there is an open ending that allows for more of this hot, sensual couple and the forces who may not be looking out for their best interests. Personally, I can't wait to read more by this author.

Ariana Rose is a new talent that I absolutely CANNOT wait to see what she releases in the future, as Turn to Stone was a fabulous debut! This is the story of Alexandra, a heroine who isn't exactly happy in life. When she met Hunter when her friends talked her into going out instead of studying all night for finals, and he asks her out immediately. They seemed perfect on paper, but something wasn't right when she finally left him for her dream job. Julian is our hero, who is working on his latest project when he meets Lainey when he goes to a meeting for said project. He decides he wants her for the movie, or he's walking. Big things happen, and he loses Lainey, but ends up with her sister somehow, and no, I won't tell you anymore details. Anyway, Julian meets Alexandra in a park by chance or is it fate?! They have strong chemistry, and imagine both their surprise when they see each other at work. Yeah, it's getting a bit complicated so the push & pull is getting frustrating at this point. He has a woman who isn't going to take losing him to anyone lying down, while she's trying to keep him at arms length because of everything. However, you already know with big time chemistry, it won't be denied, so you know. Everyone is against them, so the twists are coming furiously, while my f-bombs are dropping loudly. So how does it all end?! I can't tell you that, so just one click since I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Turn to Stone was an emotional read from start to finish! A very heart impacting book. Lex is a character that you want to help and protect, someone you feel connected to from reading her story. It's a very raw telling, I think it shines light on a very important issue, that something isn't always as it seems. Just because it looks one way on the outside, it could be a completely different world behind closed doors. And this book really hits that on the head with Lex. She is a strong character, I loved her guts and heart. Julian also hit me hard right in the feels, I cried my eyes out for him. He had a different battle to go through, with really no-one on his side. I just wanted to take him away from everything! Rose really made you feels so connected to these characters and immersed in their lives. the heartbreak, angst, and the hope. The connection between Lex and Julian sparks instantly and burns hot. Hope sparks for these two and it makes you want them to win! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars, is there were a few moments towards the end that were predictable and I felt it was odd because nothing leading up to had been. Over all it was a very enjoyable read that packed a powerful emotional punch. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I will start by saying this book will keep you hooked from beginning to end or it did for me. I loved how we see both Alexandra and Julian's journey from when they met other people to when they met themselves. These two have been through a lot in life. Julian had love but after a freak accident, he lost it. He also lost his self confidence and the ability to tell his dad, Quinn and her dad to kiss his ass. I swear he just turned into this wallflower who said"Yes sir, I'll do whatever you want just to keep them happy instead of himself. I was getting so annoyed with him. God I just wanted to tell him" Grow some balls and tell these people where to stick it! I mean he finally did stand up for himself but man it took it awhile. I also realize that he was a different person after the accident. He was sweet and charming.
Alexandra.. what can I say about her? She fell for a man who in turned, turned her into something she wasn't. She got an out and took it. She didn't plan on falling in love for real but fate gave it to her. She was strong but I hated that when things got tough, she ran. Her and Julian grow up a lot in this book. Their love was sweet and pure. I'm so glad I got the chance to read this and I can't wait to read the next book in this series! I am hooked.

Captivating story of Alexandra and Julian after a tragic loss for Julian and an escape from a controlling fiancée for Alexandra. Set in Georgia this book captured my heart quickly as all the references to Jekyll Island, Savannah and Atlanta strike close to my new home.
The story pulls you in immediately! It starts off with a bang and doesn't let go of your heart. With fame and money sometimes comes deeper problems that the world does not see. Only those on the inside know the devious plots and schemes of greed and control by powerful families.
Alexandra finds herself thick in the games of Julian's controlling father.
Will they be able to overcome all of the obstacles and ghosts of their past to find a future together? As the story unfolds you will be captured by the angst and the characters. I found myself wanting to punch a character a time or two and I was routing for Alexandra and Julian all the way!!

WOW! This book was not what I expected at all! When the story starts out, you get both points of view from the main characters and at the same time in their lives. Thing is, they haven't even met yet. The back and forth of how their stories start is very well written. I was hooked from chapter one!

I had so many feels with this story. I can not believe that this is the authors first story! She rocked her debut! And to learn that this story will be part of a series....gah, I can't handle it!

The connection that the characters have is strong and you invest yourself in them. Into their feelings, thoughts and everything around them.

I do not want to give any spoilers. Go in blind and devour their story! You will be hooked! Sweet story with a HEA, but I have this feeling in the pit of my stomach that they have a long road ahead of them and their happiness. I can't wait to read what is next for these characters. I fell in love with Lex and Julian. You will too.

4,5 Stars for Turn to Stone by Ariana Rose
What a great start to Ariana Rose’s writing career because I do believe this is her debut novel and I for one will be looking at her future books.
