With revealing behind the scenes photos from the movie sets, stunning concept art revealing the beautiful, mysterious nation of Wakanda, interviews with the cast and crew of the film, this stunning collector's book is a must-have for all fans of everything Marvel!
This book had interviews from the cast and crew including Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, and others. It also had pictures of the sets, including the waterfall scene. The costumes and weapons were also shown.
I enjoyed this book. It was nice to be able to read the cast interviews and see how much everyone enjoyed making the movie. The Nation of Wakanda was also amazing to look at. The movie was very good. I enjoyed it a lot.
When watching the film "Black Panther", I wished I could see more of the spectacular costumes and sets; thankfully, this guide is full of photographs and concept illustrations that show off the amazing work that went into creating the world of the movie. The cast interviews are a bit on the lighter side, mainly because this book tries to be as spoiler-free as possible (and generally succeeds, except for a few movie stills that show a plot point or two.) It genuinely feels like everyone who worked on this movie recognized its significance and shared its vision, and I'm anxious now to re-watch it knowing that. Plus, I'll appreciate just how difficult the waterfall scenes were to film!
The photos in this book are gorgeous, but the interviews are pretty light. Granted, this is basically a promo for the movie (no spoilers here!), but they could've pushed more. For example, there was a great diversity of actors from the diaspora, but you wouldn't know that from reading this book. How do these different perspectives, including being African, shape one's perspective about starring in an African-centered film of this magnitude? There were lots of words like "amazing" and "incredible" with limited explanations of what that meant. It's not a bad book, and there are some interesting tidbits, but I'd recommend looking elsewhere if you want depth.
A completely awesome book. This gives a run down of all of the prominent characters in the movie. Also it gives some tidbits of fun information as well. I really enjoyed the extra nuggets of information that the book gave. I read this and then I went and saw the movie again with a friend. Totally worth it.
Enjoyed reading interviews, seeing different concept art, and getting a behind-the-scene feel of what it took to make The Black Panther transfer from comic book paper to big screen film.
