Chase: New Horizon Ranch book 3 is by Debra Clopton. New Horizon Ranch in Mule Hollow, Texas was willed to five owners. These were five ranch hands who had grown close to Cc and when he died, he wanted his ranch left in good hands. Chase Hartley is one of the owners.
Amber Rivers is headed to Mule Hollow, Texas and the New Horizon Ranch to be bridesmaid in her best friend’s wedding. Amber thought the wedding came at a good time in her career. She worked for a hot line which was for abused women. She talked to them and tried to convince them to come stay at the safe houses they had and get them and their children away from their abusive others. This time, the victim had called her spouse to boast about getting away and in the process gave Amber away as having helped her. Her spouse had been so angry that he started threatening Amber and even breaking into her apartment. Amber took Sadie’s wedding as a chance to get away until things calmed down. Then she planned to return to her job.
Chase agrees to watch over Amber while Rafe and Sadie were on their honeymoon. He became even more concerned after learning all of the threats this mad had made. The Matchmaking’ Posse of Mule Hollow was also on the lookout for her stalker. Can this bunch of old women really help?

Amber arrives in Mule Hollow for her friends wedding. An ideal time since she's got a stalker back home. She meets Chase before she even gets to the ranch house and spark are immediate. When he finds out about her stalker, Chase is on the job of protecting Amber. Only problem is she's a city girl and he's a country boy. Can they get past that hurdle once her stalker is out of the way?
This book was much better as far as editing, story line, etc.

Amber Rivers is avoiding a stalker and her friend's wedding is the perfect time and place to lay low and out of sight. However, her plan is to wait out the stalker until the police catch him and then return home to life as normal. What she doesn't expect is her intense attraction to the handsome cowboy and rancher, Chase Hartley. Can she resist his charm and return to her old life?

What follows is a rather fast paced romance that seems to work decently well. The characters are developed well enough to understand their feelings in the matter.
Where I have a problem is the ending. It simply didn't come across as very real. I love this author, but this ending was weak. I also found Amber to be a little too naïve. Her arrogance in her ability was nearly her undoing.
There's also more referenced and actual violence in this story regarding the stalker. I understand that it is part of the plotline, but the reader should be aware.

Violence - PG / PG13 - gun shot, inflicted concussion, reference to bruising, reference to violence against women and children.

Having read about three of the four owners of New Horizon Ranch, it seems natural the last owner would need a happy ever after. What I really loved about this book was that it actually had some intense drama. Also, the fact that the story high lights the dangers that women face when trying to get out of an abusive situation.
Amber is one tough lady who likes to be in charge of her life and will not give up control of it to anyone. Now that she has a stalker and is being told to “hide out” she is not a happy person. She is not comfortable with how she is feeling toward Chase and that only adds to her stress. She wants to go back to her life in Houston.
Chase is not one who falls easily for any woman, he had decided that his life is better off without one. When he is asked to watch over Amber while Sadie and Rafe are on their honeymoon, he agrees. Little did he know that his feeling for her would be the end result. He is not sure that he is happy about what he is feeling but he knows that he has to protect Amber.
Will they actually have a happy ever after together? Will Amber’s stalker win in the end? You are going to have to read to find out. The drama’s climax put tears in my eyes and made me really love this story.

As Usual, A Great Love Story
Debra Clopton really is one of my favorite contemporary romance authors. She writes well, including all the things which make a story a true romance without any of the temporary, graphic scenes and language I dislike.
In this book, I found some favorite characters from previous books I've read by her. I also enjoyed a bit of suspense and a powerful message speaking up for those who've been abused. There was also a presence of Christianity without the story being preachy, again as usual. I like that it's more evidenced in the way the characters live day to day as well as their sense of morality. I can't wait to dig into the next book!
If you enjoy cowboys, strong female characters, inspirational romance, adventure, and suspense, you'll find all of that here. Why not give it a try?

Chase is the third book in the New Horizon Ranch: Mule Hollow series. Amber just arrived in Mule Hollow for her best friend's wedding and maybe to lay low from her stalker. While she is there, one of the owners of the ranch takes to watching over her. She is not one that wants to be looked over so it bothers her that Chase is. Chase is not one for city girls, but there is something about Amber that is different. The more he is around her, the harder it is to stay away. Will they each find what they need? I really enjoyed this story. This is not one to be missed!

Such a nice story
Another great adventure on New Horizon ranch. Chase was easy to like. This story kept my attention. It had great descriptions of characters and the places they visited. I love it when books become visual in my mind like this one did. Another grand book by Debra Clopton!

Didn‘t like the style of writing. The characters have a great backstory, but instead of giving them a little more ‚flesh on the bone‘, the author gets lost in too many repetitions of the same facts. That made the read tiring and uninspired, even though the original storyline would have had potential.

Wonderful fast moving story!
I loved this story. So many people helping so many people it made my head spin. These cowboys tend to take on the world of this small town but they help make it a wonderful place to live and visit in story form.Enjoy!

Danger and romance take place in Chase, another book in the New Horizon Ranch: Mule Hollow series! Debra Clopton has written another tender story of love with strong characters. Amber Rivers may not have been looking for love but that was before she met the handsome cowboy named Chase! I recommend this book to anyone who likes light romance with a bit of danger. I received my e-book from the author. This is my honest opinion.

I received this book from the author in exchange for my honest opinion. This is the third book in the New Horizon Ranch Mule Hollow series. I would like to have given this a 3.5 but just couldn't get it to a 4. The characters were sweet and very lovable. The subject matter was just a little too deep for such a short book. Domestic violence is a serious issue and although I appreciate the effort given, I think there should have been more depth for the characters. Unlike the other books in this series, this one was just didn't flow that well. I look forwards to hearing more about Chase and Amber in future books in this series.

Oh how I love Debra Clopton's books. I love all of her books especially those in Mule Hollow. I would love to live in that little town. Chase, what a book. I read it from start to finish in just a couple of hours. It's fast moving, romantic and impossible to put down. I.have read every book Debra has written and many of them more than once, some multiple times. You will never go wrong no matter which book of hers you read. Buy Chase today and take a fun, inexpensive vacation without having to leave your house. It was a great way to unwind from some recently stressful days.
