Solving cases with the help of her psychic abilities makes Kate Pierce a huge asset to her team, yet when news surfaces that a celebrity psychic has gone missing and she’s found brutally murdered days later, Kate takes it upon herself to dig deeper on her own time. After nights of research, Kate realizes the killing isn’t an isolated incident, and a madman is prowling the Midwest in search of particular psychics to murder. Joining forces with the FBI’s Serial Crimes Unit—led by Kate’s dearest friend, Jade Monroe, and her partner, J.T. Harper—Kate goes on a multistate hunt to track down the diabolical demon, only to end up back on her home turf. After circling the Midwest, the killer hunkers down in Wisconsin, making the team wonder what his real motivation is and who he’s targeting. Has he finally found his true target, and can the FBI and Washburn County Sheriff’s Office stop him before somebody else dies? Only time, determination, and a lot of luck will tell.

Editorial Review: “When a famous psychic goes missing following an event in Iowa and is soon found murdered, Psychic Detective Kate Pierce of the Washburn County Sheriff’s Office in Wisconsin finds herself more than a little intrigued, even though the crime occurred outside her office's jurisdiction. Kate has dreams that only increase her interest in the psychic's murder, and when she learns that a serial killer may be targeting psychics, her friends at the FBI develop an interest in the case, too, and accept Kate’s offer to help find the killer. With twists and turns galore, C.M. Sutter’s latest spine-tingling crime thriller will have readers in knots as they try to figure out this killer’s motive—and his next target.” Angela M., Line Editor, Red Adept Editing

Because of her deep interest in crime and thriller novels, she took up writing in the police procedural/crime thriller genre in 2016.
It's a good book though the beginning not so much. Especially when Jack realise Kate is missing. It's always the same, Kate goes missing, captured by the killer, & law enforcement are forced to step it up to find her & the killer before it's too late, that when it gets really good. It is good to have scenes of Jade & J.T. again. While I usually like Kate's scenes there was a few times I was pissed about her. Like when she doubts her abilities. She has proven herself & her abilities & yet she still afraid to use them. And hides them when it happens, only telling others until several hours have passed. Then she gets ahead of herself; she's a guest, a consultant, yet she over-steps her 'line'. Experience cops know how to do their job yet she feels she needs to tell them what to do or do it for them but this is not her juristiction so therefore she cannot call the shots. Her acting like she's the boss when she's not; I find that very annoying.
Good book except the beginning. As usual the best part if when the cops discover Kate is missing, captured by their killer & they have to step-up their search for their killer & rescue Kate. Kate is usually 1 of my favorite characters beside Jade, Jack & J.T., but in this book I found some of her personality annoying & reminded me of Amber Monroe, her personality is rubbing off on Kate & I don't like it.
Wow! A great conclusion... It leaves me wanting more! I loved the series. Well written, compelling, and satisfying. Please consider more books with this wonderful group of friends. Thank you.
While most of this book was okay, the last few chapters just defies logic and common sense! Who, in their right mind, would think it was okay to let vulnerable women take a ride into work by strangers? I was so disgusted with this that it just ruined the book for me.

Story that keeps you actively involved with a serial killer that was not on anyone's radar except for the detective psychic would never have been caught.
