I built myself up from nothing. A product of the foster care system, I learned early on how to fight hard to get what I want. Whether it was starting my first company in college, earning my first billion, or buying my first professional sports team, I know how to get what I want, when I want it.

Until now.

Willow Monahan is fierce, independent, and hot as hell. She also takes great pleasure in shutting down my advances. The younger sister of one of my star players, Willow intrigues me to my very core. And while she may have willingly given me her body, she is hesitant to offer up more. Now I’m on a mission to find out why.

I’ve decided to approach my desire for Willow like I’ve approached much of my life; with persistence, determination, and a whole lot of that Dominik Carlson alpha charm. Buying a hockey expansion team, building the Arizona Vengeance from the ground up, and bringing home a championship may prove to be an easier feat than winning Willow’s heart.

But I’ve never been a quitter.

Willow Monahan… I’m coming for you.

Ever since we were introduced to Dominik and saw his interest in Willow I've been dying to get their story. He is a relentless businessman so I knew he wasn't going to give up easily on the woman he wanted. Even if she did everything in her power to try and convince him that it was just a one night stand between them and nothing else.

I loved that this book had a bit of a role reversal with the fact that it was Willow who was the one pushing for nothing more than sex and trying to get Dominik to stop pursuing her for more. It's becoming more common in books I read but I still don't see that a lot and usually it's the hero that wants no relationship so I thought it was a fun twist in this book. It also had me really liking Willow because she knew what she wanted and she wasn't afraid to let that be known. She didn't give in easily to Dominik and even though it led to moments where I was just begging her to give in since I knew they would be so happy together, I still liked seeing it.

Bottom line, I definitely recommend reading this book. It could probably be read as a standalone but I would say that this is a series you'd want to read in order. Just so you get the full understanding of the team dynamics and all the players.

At this point I got a bit bored with Miss Bennet hockey series. She seems to be repeating old formula on her romance. I do like Tacker book better because it is dealing with loss and grief issues.

In Dominik, it deals with trust issue between the main characters. But nothing new or swoon worthy. It rather flat on the middle. There is that insta lust again and cute flirting on the beginning and then flat....

Overal, i think this book is OK read.

-I’m fascinated by him. Wildly attracted to him. And terrified of him, but I love danger and adrenaline, so it’s like the overly used cliche of a moth to flame.

Dominik Carlson is a 39 yr. old gorgeous, eligible bachelor who grew up in foster care. He’s a self made billionaire businessman who owns two professional sports teams. His pride and joy lately is his successful hockey expansion team, the Arizona Vengeance who he believes will take it all the way to the finals. He’s a team owner with a hands on approach known for being generous, kind, and genuine. He goes that extra mile for his players, and is always available to them. He’s a hard worker, and used to getting what he wants, except when it comes to the one woman who challenges him. After an earth shattering, unforgettable encounter with the sister of one of his players, he’s completely fascinated and intrigued. She’s a confident, stubborn, smart, independent, stunningly beautiful woman. He feels greedy for Willow Monahan, but she’s playing hard to get. She’s frustrating, and shuts down his every advance, but he has no plans of giving up any time soon.

Willow Monahan is a 27 yr. old photojournalist who travels all over the world. She loves her career and her family. When not working she spends a lot of time at her brother’s in Phoenix. Lately she can’t quit thinking about her brothers boss. Dominik is a hot guy that’s been pursuing her relentlessly. He’s bossy, alpha, persistent, and demanding, but she can’t help wanting him. She hasn’t been able to forget about the night they spent together, but she’s not looking for a relationship or any emotional ties. That doesn’t mean she doesn’t enjoy his attention. Soon he proves to be a temptation she can’t resist, and she likes spending time with him. Neither is ready to settle down, and they are on the same page with very defined boundaries. A temporary, no strings fun fling without expectations. What could possibly go wrong? She knows he’s dangerous because she could fall for him, but she just has to be careful. When he decides he wants more, and they realize what they have together is unique and suddenly far too real, lines get blurred. Will they decide love is worth the risk, or will one of them end up with a broken heart?

-I think she might be the most perfect thing I've ever seen.

-She's fucking perfection.

-She may not want to let her heart get involved, which again... totally fine. But her body is already locked down tight and firmly in my possession. It's mine to do with as I wish and I've already got a million ideas.

Dominik by Sawyer Bennett is a sexy standalone hockey sports romance with explosive chemistry, and a lot of heart. Dominik’s book was the one I’ve been anticipating most, and it’s my new favorite in the Arizona Vengeance series! I really loved this story, and this charming, delicious, swoony man!

You know the old waking up with a woman the day after and kicking her out with the help of the assistant. Where do authors get these lovelies ideas? Do they go to a writers convention and it’s required to write these scenes? Let’s not forget the bit where he can’t keep his dick in his pants after he had sex with the heroine. Oh, he takes them to his house because he loves his house and his bed.

“When a woman is with me, she has my undivided attention. I listen attentively, and I remember every detail she gives me.
Now, will I remember her next week?
Probably not.
Without a backward glance, I pad through my master suite into the bathroom, my thoughts now on another woman.
I have not forgotten her name, nor one single detail about her.
Willow Monahan is absolutely unforgettable.
She’s actually the sister to one of my star players on the Vengeance—Dax Monahan. We’ve had a few encounters, and when I say “encounter,” I mean one spectacular coming together of two people with explosive chemistry. Sadly, though, she is annoyingly frustrating because she’ll no longer give me the time of day”

don't you just LOVE it when the book starts with a morning after scene of the hero and some OW.

i REALLY love those scenes as the intro. paints the hero in SUCH a great light.

i ESPECIALLY love it when he has already met and slept with the heroine of the book and is actively pursing her WHILE sleeping with other women on the side.

i just REALLY hope the heroine is getting some as well.

* the cherry on top of all this was him saying he brings all these women back to his home instead of a hotel b/c he loves his bed lmaooo

Dominik is the sixth book in the Arizona Vengeance Series. Each book in the series can be read as a stand-alone. However, I highly recommend reading each and everyone to grasp the full spectrum of the relationships and dynamics between the characters in this series. Dominik Carlson is the alpha billionaire team owner of the Arizona Vengeance, and he has his sights set on one of his players' little sisters Willow Monahan. After meeting at a team party, Dominik realized that Willow has a spark that he cannot find anywhere else. After pursuing a physical relationship only, feelings begin to develop between the two. Neither is ready to pursue a long-term relationship and yet, something magical happens when these two are together and somehow, just being "physical" isn't enough. Dominik wants all of Willow in every way.

description
"Love had shit all over me- so badly I will gladly go without that kind of devotion...."
Told in dual POV, Dominik is a perfect blend of passion, hockey action, and pure romance. The dynamics between Dominik and Willow are extreme as both are fighting to protect their hearts. Willow is headstrong and is determined to stay focused on her job, so when Dominik begins to tear down the walls she has firmly in place, the transformation is slow and painful for both. As always, the family aspect is strong in the read as the entire Vengeance Team will fight to the death to protect their own.
"I love danger and adrenaline, so it's like the overly cliche of a moth to flame."
Overall, Dominik will appeal to hockey romance lovers who enjoy a strong alpha male paired with a spunky woman who will not bend to anyone, or will she? This is one series I have enjoyed immensely. Although I haven't been reading them in order, I find that Ms. Bennett never fails to deliver an outstanding read full of complex characters and a riveting plot.

Mood: bitter & disappointed

Why does this keep happening to me? The couples I've been most interested and invested in over the course of the book series turn out to have the worst books. It's as if some authors are perfectly capable of drawing attention to background characters/couples, but then when the time comes for these characters to be in the spotlight of their own story, their execution falls flat.

And this is what happened here. Seriously, this book barely got 2 stars.

First of all, the story kicks off with Dominik sleeping with another woman AFTER he already had sex with Willow. That's a huge no-no for me, romance-books-wise. Logically, I understand that they were not exclusive, you know? But it's still not something that I necessarily appreciate in romance.

Especially when the hero gets his assistant to kick the woman out of his bed.

Classy™

Apart from this, my issues with this book were:

- Dominik
- Dominik
- Dominik
- communication between the couple and general lack of actual romance
- writing

Ok, so let me break it down to you.

I am so so tired of this whole Alphajerk Billionaire trope? In the previous installments of this series, Dominik has been painted as a billionaire with a heart of gold basically. A nosy and a touch controlling one but still. Here, his controlling "alpha man" tendencies were highlighted to a point where it really made him a two-dimensional character.

The only things I learned about Dominik were that he loves control and must maintain it in all aspects of his life (especially in bed because he's A Man™, you know) and also that he grew up in foster group home and now donates a lot of money and his time to foster kids. The latter is commendable but still didn't make me like him any more.

Specifically because of the things that came out of his mouth like:

"..she'll have my utmost respect the entire time and that is in large part because I respect you." - ok...so if you didn't respect Willow's brother, you would treat her like shit? UGH this is the equivalent of the whole "I respect women because I have a sister, mother etc." reasoning some pseudo-feminist men have going on and I abhor it.

"You're cute when you try to be all independent and act like you don't need me." - do I even need to comment on that?

"They see a man trying to court their daughter when what I actually want to do is control and fuck her." I'm not bothered by the "fuck" part of this statement at all because they do have a no-strings sex at first and that's fine but the "control her and fuck her" puts a nasty spin on this, right?

"In addition to being controlling, I'm also very proprietary." - nothing alarming about that 🙃 WRITERS PLEASE STOP TRYING TO WRITE FSOG 2 I BEG YOU

"No one tells me what I can and can't do."

This simply isn't true. In the past few weeks, Willow has bent to any number of demands from me. I know, without a doubt, I could take her by the head and push my cock in her mouth without a single word...and she'd take it like a champ.

Charming.

"No, to prove to you that I am my own woman and you own no part of me."

Wrong fucking words, Willow. Too much of a challenge as well.
- after which, "hero" basically pounces at her, and throws her on bed, even though she holds up her hands to stop him and says "Dominik, no".

They have sex afterwards of course, because the lack of verbal consent is just OH. SO. SEXY.

"I put my hand to the back of her head and when her jaw unhinges especially wide while calling me all kinds of colourful names, I shove the tie inside." - they are in the middle of an argument and he SHOVES A TIE INTO HER MOUTH TO SHUT HER UP. Forget the old "good" kissing to shut the woman up during argument, this is next level, I swear.

Oh, and they go on to have sex of course, because that just got her SO HOT AGAIN.

On top of all the crappy things he said, I also couldn't quite...tolerate Dominik because of his approach to relationship with Willow and some other things, e.g.:

◆ Before they enter into a more serious relationship, Dominik finds out exactly how dangerous what Willow does for a living is - he throws a temper tantrum and demands that she quits her job (or at least some of the assignments) with, I QUOTE, "That shit stops right now" because he, I QUOTE, "doesn't want that type of worry".

He gives her an ultimatum and when she doesn't comply, he calls it quits.

◆ Both Dominik and Willow have trust issues and never had a serious relationship before - but Dominik feels like he has the right to control the tempo of their relationship and, whenever Willow doesn't catch up fast enough, gets incredibly butthurt.

◆ Like in the end, when he proposes (right after his team wins conference finals or whatever) and when Willow's reaction is not an instant YES THANK YOU DOMINIK, he gets butthurt again and then refuses to talk it out despite Willow's numerous attempts to contact him. He SELLS HIS HOUSE a day after she refuses - and it's not a hard no, it's a very reasonable "we're not there yet" because seriously, it's been what, weeks???

I get hurt feelings - I do - but this read not like a man with hurt feelings but more like a child who throws a tantrum after he doesn't get exactly his way.

◆ The whole Nanette storyline - I expressed my unease about this storyline before, when it was happening in previous books. I am fully aware that not all sexual assault/rape accusations are true. I do know this. I also know that there is a percentage of people who make these claims against famous people to get a paycheck - I don't think it's a high percentage but I'm sure it happens.

Still, this whole storyline left a really bad taste in my mouth because it basically read as "evil woman lying to take hard-earned millions from poor innocent powerful men" *rolls eyes*

..."a scam you machinated to get rich while destroying the reputation of good men..."

I mean...was their reputation destroyed, really? NO ONE in the environment of the accused hockey players believed Nanette - they all automatically assumed she was lying (which usually happens in such situations, and most of the time, the victim is NOT lying so - ). They all had money and resources to fight her accusations and as a billionaire, Dominik would have enough pull to get positive press, for example. And also threaten the accusations to go away, which he did, by telling Nanette he would go full-on war mode on her and bankrupt her with legal fees.

So yeah...

It was just tone-deaf to me, you know? Personally, I don't think this is the kind of story we should be telling in this day and age. What was even the point of having this storyline in the first place?

There were also some good parts, scattered as they were - when Willow and Dominik reconnect after their first break-up, things got really cute and sweet (and steamy) for a little bit and I enjoyed the second half of the book a bit more. I also liked all the scenes with girl and guy bonding and all the characters being together. But then it was back to temper tantrums, unfortunately.

Not to mention, the writing was just bad, you know? There was SO MUCH exposition and it felt so unnatural too. It was like having a recap of all the previous books and couples by means of Willow's and Dominik's inner thoughts and it was just so weird and out of nowhere. It's a series, FFS! If people read the whole series, they already know this stuff, there's not need to remind them! And if they didn't - they probably don't care!

Anyway, so these are all the reasons this book was disappointing to me. Now that I went through all of this again, it angered me all over again and I realize this book doesn't deserve rounding up to 2 stars.

Despite some moments that I enjoyed, this wasn't my cup of tea at all and had too many red flags. I'm tired of all the cliches this had and for sake of what? Showing that powerful influential men like control?

3.5 Figuring Out Love Stars
* * * 1/2 Spoiler Free-Limited Time, ONLY 99 CENTS!!!
Since the beginning of this series, Dominik Carlson who owns the Arizona Vengeance has made his presence known. Like all successful series, having a character who is strong, alpha, sexy, and highly intriguing causes readers a need to know more about this man.

In past entries, Dominik has made appearances, has given insightful advice, and done over and above for his players when they needed it. He has shown concern for his players and with his determination and wealth, the team has had the best of everything in order to make their focus only of winning.

In the last entry, Dax, we were at the beginning of Willow's and Dominik's pairing. We saw how intense their interest was, how the chemistry was off the hook and how much Dominik was interested in Willow.

Now normally, Dominik would have had no obstacles in his pursuit of a woman. His power, wealth, and physical appearance certainly made "dating" easy. Yet, with Willow, that was not the case.

Willow, Dax's sister, was a woman who led a very independent life.
She was a professional journalistic photographer going to wartorn locations and other areas of the world. She was aware of the danger, fed off of it but also was very careful with making sure she had the necessary security and protection needed.

Willow was a woman who had been burned by a past relationship and refused to allow herself to feel that type of pain again. She was a sexual person, enjoyed the physicality of being with someone but did not do repeats and relationships. Her one time with Dominik was off the charts but she was determined to keep it to that only.

However, it was amazing...and he brought out a different side of her...
But no, she would hold firm.

Dominik was breaking all his rules for Willow. He never pursued anyone unless it was for his team. He was having trouble compartmentalizing his time with Willow. It felt very different for him...like there had been some base connection between them, more than just fantastic sex.

Dominik started to do the unthinkable...he would text Willow and get the other players on the team to give him updates on where Willow was and when she would be coming back to the States. He put up with her non-responses and finally was able to plan to see her again as she was coming back for the team's playoffs.

Now Dominik wasn't alone in realizing this coupling was more than the usual romp. Willow couldn't get Dominik out of her mind either. There was something about being with him, the feeling of safety and allowing him to take charge...Something she never had felt before. It scared her and intrigued her...she also never responded to the texts Dominik sent.

This tale was all about the coupling of Dominik and Willow. These two had very different backgrounds which formed them as people.

Dominik did not have a happy childhood and was in the foster system. This colored everything for him. He learned how to be determined, focused, and fight for what he wanted. It did cloud his understanding though of feelings and love.

Willow had a terrific childhood of loving parents and a big brother so she was able to love but fought it as she had been hurt before. She was independent and comfortable in her own skin and did not want to be hampered by anyone.

When these two finally figured out their relationship it still took a hot minute for it to work. But when it finally did...it was all systems go.

I had been waiting for Dominik for a very long time and it was interesting to learn his background and all he was. He was in his head most of the time, plotting and thinking...confused about feelings. That caused a bit of a wall for me...but at the same time, I still loved how he was able to learn to grow and let himself accept love. Willow was also a bit of a challenge for this romantic at heart reader...her walls were very high too and I wanted them down for Dominik sooner...but then there wouldn't have been the story we had.

If you have been an Arizona Vengeance reader you will enjoy all the past characters making their appearances. There are plenty more coming from the fruitful mind of Sawyer Bennett.

In the latest in her “Arizona Vengeance” series, Sawyer Bennett pairs up the feisty and independent Willow Monahan and the charismatic self-made billionaire Dominik Carlson for a sexy, emotional journey that scratches any itch you might have for swoony, alpha-male hunks.

Orphaned at a young age, Dominik learned about persistence and how to fight for what he wanted. Skills that have helped him succeed in all his business endeavors and will prove essential in helping him get to know the alluring yet elusive photojournalist who’s captured his attention.

Willow is smart and confident. She knows her own value, loves her career and freedom and has no problem with having a short term, no strings attached fling with her NHL star brother’s boss and the Vengeance’s owner while the team is in the playoffs, but anything more is just too risky. Can Dominik’s caring heart and determination be enough to make her want not just more, but everything?

Willow is a marvelous heroine, she shines with a fascinating blend of fierceness and tenderness. Dominik in turn is a magnetic alpha wrapped up in a generous, loyal and caring soul that’s set on doing the right thing and getting his way.

I loved these characters greatly, but the best aspect of the novel is their romance which started in previous books (although you absolutely do NOT have to read them to fully enjoy this one). Regardless, I had been waiting for their story a long time and was not disappointed.

Their chemistry was incendiary, but even though they both had fears and Willow was a tad impulsive and stubborn, Bennett delivers a couple that is perfectly suited for each other and their connection went beyond sexy times into a deep emotional bond that felt genuine.

Bennett’s plotting also includes some heart stopping danger and a wonderful Arizona Vengeance adventure during the playoffs where we get to catch up with the entire group of couples from previous books painted with charming and colorful delight.

Dominik is book #6 of the Arizona Vengeance series by Sawyer Bennett. It’s an utterly perfect hockey romance, with delightfully surprising crossovers into other Sawyer Bennett series. It’s told from both points of view with a happy ending.

After really liking the other books in this series, I had high expectations for this book, but I also had trepitations about it because of the glimpses of the main couple that were present in past books. I'm sad to say that my trepitations were correct because I didn't like this book that much.

I had so many issues with this book but it was mainly the hero, who was arrogant to an extreme degree and controlling, which I don't usually like but I don't hate as much as I did in this book and I think it's because he felt like a very two dimentional character and even if he did get a bit better by the end the improvement wasn't significant.

One of my main problems with this book is that beyond physical chemistry, the characters didn't have any connection, they barely speak for the first half of the book, there were no romantic or sweet moments. Their relationship was mainly sexual but we still have to believe they fall in love rather quickly.

Also, the writing wasn't the best in this one, inner monologues of the main characters were so repetitive in so many ways and also I don't know how many times did I have to read summaries of the previous books in their inner monologues which annoyed me so much.

DOMINIK is a standalone hockey romance about Dominik Carlson, the alpha billionaire team owner of the Arizona Vengeance, and Willow Monahan, the strong-willed sister of one of his star players. Dominik is looking to win more than just a championship—he’s looking to win Willow’s heart.

See what readers are saying about DOMINIK:
► Holy, sweet mother of pearl this book was worth the wait!!
► Hands down, my fav book in this series.
► I actually gasped out loud at one point in the book. You know what you did, Sawyer. YOU KNOW!!!!!!

About DOMINIK:

Heart in your throat emotion…

Oh, did this story come with surprises! Willow was going to keep any relationship with Dominik purely physical. End of story. Well, thank goodness that was nowhere close to reality! The owner of Arizona Vengeance had been wooing one of his star player’s sister since they first met and he didn’t let anything block him for long. Including Willow….

This author’s hockey romances are always at the top of my re-read pile and Willow and Dominik’s story explains exactly why. Even as I struggled with the lack of romance early on (or seemingly so), the heat between them spoke of so much more. Willow had been hurt and swore she never would be again. Dominik agreed but had a much different approach…

Dominik’s persistence was everything courtship should be and when push came to shove, he was there when she needed him the most. Oh yes, everything this story built towards came together in a dramatic conclusion that pushed this story from so, so good to oh my gawd, that was amazing!

I will never get enough of the Cold Fury and Arizona Vengeance players and their loving families and can’t wait for more… Please, please let there be much more! ~Diane, 5 stars

About DOMINIK:

DOMINIK!

He's the 39 year old billionaire owner of the Vengeance and as we already witnessed in the previous book - he's after Dax's sister Willow. And she's not making it easy for the poor guy! LOL!

Willow doesn't want a relationship. She's been burned before. And she loves her freedom - she loves traveling the world for her dangerous job. But this guyyy - this guy is just not giving up!☺

I was really looking forward to reading this story! And it was adorable. Funny, sexy, hockey-y.

Willow is a bit too stubborn for my tastes. Why does she have to run away from that amazing guy all the time??? That would SO not be me! ☺

But of course the reader enjoys every minute of Dominik's fight for their happy ever after!

I also loved seeing all the other guys and girls again.

Can't wait to read Rafe and then Wylde's stories next!

Great Hockey series!

DOMINIK was a really sweet & sexy & frustrating love story! Run to your nearest amazon for your own hot Billionaire - this one is MINE!!

𝗗𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗸 is the 6th novel in the 𝗔𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗼𝗻𝗮 𝗩𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 by Sawyer Bennett.

I absolutely LOVED this book! God I missed Sawyer’s writing. That’s the first thought I had when reading this novel. Chapter 1 felt like coming home just reading her beautifully realistic writing style. Sawyer is one of my favorite authors, especially when referring to the contemporary genre! Her writing definitely speaks to me.

𝗗𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗸 is the owner of the 𝗔𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗼𝗻𝗮 𝗩𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 hockey team. They are the newest team to enter the league and have a lot to prove this season. This is my first book in the Arizona Vengeance Series; however, I was able to follow this easily without any issues. The secondary characters which are the team’s first line players each have their own novels as well. I love an interconnected series so much!

Dominik Carlson is an alpha, hot, sexy, charismatic billionaire that stops at nothing to get the woman he wants, Willow Monahan. Dominik likes Willow a lot ever since their first encounter. He’s never had a serious relationship. He isn’t specifically looking for one, but he can’t get Willow off his mind.

Willow Monahan is the younger sister of Dominik’s team, Dax Monahan who isn’t happy with his interest in his younger sister. Dominik is so confident and never fails to lose his cool. I love that about him. I liked Dominik more than Willow although in the end it made up for her hard-to-get moments.

This couple had a sweet connection that you could feel. In a way, I personally would have liked more vulnerability on the heroine’s side because her hard personality, even during her inner monologue makes it hard to relate to her personally. I’m just not that confident in my own head. I’m not sure if any of us are. Willow’s in her head moments were filled with uber confidence to the point of unbelievability.

Is this the most compelling book?……NO! Is it going to change your life or make you question your existence?.....NO! Was it fun and kept me entertained?.....mostly!

I have been wanting to read about Dominik and his story since the start of the Arizona Vengeance series and finally I was able to read it. I knew I liked him and this book confirmed it. I also completely related to Willow’s independence and celebrated it.

These two characters definitely heat up the pages but I will say between like 60% and 85% it did slow a bit but it picked back up and although probably a little far-fetched it was a good read for me!

After a bit of a slow start where I was having a bit of trouble connecting emotionally with Dominik and Willow (and their superficial relationship), things gradually started picking up. I think it was a combination of good storytelling, and some much needed character background to get me fully invested in this couple. It turned out I had a hard time putting it down, and even teared up at the end . Now that's how you build a story!

ha...
this was quite interesting...
this time, this is a reversed game of chase and pull - a guy chases a girl, I mean, a strong dominant alpha tries so hard to conquer and tie down to him, this feisty, strong, independent woman with huge trust issues...and he doesn't back down even when the stubborness is so high it cause heartbreak along the way....

Having been with this series from the beginning, I already knew going in that Dominik was an amazing man. I also knew there was this powerful pull between him and Willow and I was so excited to get the inside scoop.

And, not at all surprising, they were scorching hot. Their physical chemistry sparked and flared and steamed up my kindle. It took a bit for their emotional connection to fire up, but if you're looking for a powerful punch of heat: Dominik and Willow have you covered.

Full disclosure: this type of story is challenging for me. When the entire connection between the hero and heroine is physical. When sex is the main communication tool and the fuel source for their chemistry I struggle connecting to the romance because I am here for the banter and the deep, angsty emotional connection. And generally speaking, it isn't until those two things are present and established that physical connection becomes meaningful to me.

So, this book is hot for sure. Dominik and Willow have a sort of blistering physical chemistry that keeps pulling them toward each other even when their fear of feelings wants to keep them apart. And there's an emotional component for sure, but by the time it came into play, I already felt like I was outside of their relationship and it didn't resonate with me as deeply as I wanted it to. I felt like the sexy bits were shown to me, and the emotional bits were told to me and because of that my heart never fully attached to Willow and Dominik.

That said, there are plenty of special moments inside this book. There is some fun series cross-over that will surely feel rewarding to loyal readers. And, while the romance isn't my favorite of the series, there were some pretty emotional moments going on within the team itself that made my heart come alive for Dominik (and the rest of the hockey gang). This is a special team and I love every moment I get to spend with them and I cannot wait to see what this unlikely band of brothers has in store for me next! ~ Shelly, 3 Stars

Woot! Another Sawyer Bennett hockey hottie to add to my collection!

Though this time it is team owner Dominik Carlson who is after my hockey loving heart.

I have been wanting his story almost as much as I wanted Tacker Hall's - and I wanted Tacker's book a lot.

I knew Dominik and Willow's story was going to be a fun one.

If you have read the previous books, especially Tacker you would know that Dominik has been chasing Willow Monahan - Dax's sister - for a while, and it has been fun seeing him try and striking out.

I adore Willow. Strong and independant and takes no crap from anybody. I want to be her friend.

There is a delicious push/pull between our lovelies - Dominik wants to pull her closer, Willow keeps pushing him away. You know that things are going to be explosive if they ever get together

Do they ever get there? You will have to read to find out!

I loved seeing more of the Vengeance guys and their lovely ladies, and it was sweet to see a little of the Cold Fury - I miss them all!

Now I need Wylde's story, stat.

Not keen on this one.
The Hero does want the heroine but after they have a ONS they are both with others, though we only really hear about his.
“He’s a serial dater,” I say in exasperation, desperate to give her something so she’ll leave me alone. He may have been chasing after me for the last few months, but I’ve seen plenty of articles and photos of him at celebrity events with a different woman on his arm every time.
“So are you,” she points out.
That would be true, so I don’t really begrudge him that.
“I don’t want to be just another notch on his bedpost,” I reply smoothly, folding my arms over my chest.
Regan rolls her eyes. “Again… you have no qualms with racking up your own notches, so try again.”

It starts with him getting a blonde to leave his bed at his home and that night the heroine is in his bed, in his home.

The Hero and heroine hook up for a bit then she leave an on a job, they are not committed to each other but next scene the reader gets the impression he has a woman giving him oral, though that's not the case.

The Hero and heroine are not together and this is mostly down to the heroine's actions but if you want your Hero to only be with the heroine then be aware he's not.
There isn't detail of intimacy with others but its not what I'm looking for in a romance novel Hero.

The only consolation is once they hook up again, even though they break up for a short time they are only with each other.

It ends up with both of them redeeming themselves, though his actions seemed quite spiteful and at times she struck me as tstl.

HEA.

I did not like Willow much. I thought she was very immature. I can't imagine why she was so opposed to relationships as her backstory wasn't all that spectacular or special.

Dominick had grown up in foster care for most part. He had the better reason to not want a relationship. I thought his crush on Willow interesting in prior books. I looked forward to his story.

I also thought Willow lying about injury occured in her work overseas or running off to a war zone to spite (never mind hurting her brother or parents should anything happen), it just came off immature.

His blurting a proposal at a game was not indicative of a prominent businessman. I did not like the inclusion of this action in the plot. It really lowered my opinion of Dominik and subsequently, Willow.

I'm disappointed because as owner and "Billionaire" he had image to project and I can't see Willow fulfilling this with the way the author portrays their relationship.

I felt this was a miss in the wonderful series.

I’m totally in love with Dominik. As a completely self-made man who started with nothing, I adore his arrogance coupled with humanity. He’s constantly reminding us that he’s a “billionaire”, throwing money around, while at the same time showing heart and giving not only with his wallet but with his time. With his hockey team, he has succeeded in building a family where one didn’t exist, and forging friendships along the way.

We’ve seen Dominik in his relentless pursuit of Willow, and here we finally get to watch as he succeeds. And he is irresistible. While Dominik may come across as a player, what he doesn’t realize is that he is looking for that connection with one special someone, and finds it in Willow. Willow is the flipside to the same coin. Having been burned in a past relationship, she’s only looking for something temporary. Agreeing that they can both be the one to scratch the other’s itch during the cup playoffs, it’s inevitable that their attraction grows into something more.

I loved Willow’s independence, and it is the very thing that attracted Dominik. He needed someone to challenge him and I felt that they were a terrific pair…until they weren’t. The same thing that I loved about Willow was the thing that frankly irritated me. It frustrates me when two people are clearly perfect for one another but let fear and a preconceived notion of what they think they should want get in the way. While I loved her, I felt that for a smart woman, Willow ran away from her problems too quickly. While exhibiting dominance in the bedroom, Dominik’s protective nature towards Willow and her dangerous career was born out of fear, not a desire to control, and I felt this was obvious. I wanted to give her a good shake to stop running away!

Despite this frustration, I enjoyed these two immensely. I did, however, feel that the end was too abrupt. I stuck with these two through their trials and tribulations…I deserved to bask in their happiness for longer!

I came in on this series midway, but I’ve had no trouble following the lives and loves of this hockey team, and growing to adore this group of men and women. Going back and reading the stories of the couples I’ve missed is definitely on my to-do list, but each can be read as a stand alone with a fantastic couple.

I've been highly anticipating Dominik's book and boy oh boy it did not disappoint; in fact, I didn't want to put it down.....consumed, 100% consumed by this story! Dominik and Willow were absolutely exquisite with their explosive chemistry, steamy romance and tell-it-like-it-is banter. This book had me laughing, smiling, crying and swooning for a couple that had me so immersed in their story that I was begging for their happily ever after! If you love the Arizona Vengeance series as much as I do then you definitely want to read this book. An INCREDIBLE story and a MUST READ book!

We have been getting little snippets of Dominik from all the previous books, as he is the owner of the Arizona Vengeance hockey team. He is a man of many skills and has learnt some of them from experience with his hard upbringing. He is a determined and formidable businessman who has a side of compassion that is tender and sexy. He knows what he wants and not only for his sports teams but also for himself. Once he sets eyes on Willow, he hones in for what he initially thinks will be a night of fun. Spending time with her though shows him how similar they are and how compatible a couple they could be.

Willow is a self employed photojournalist who loves her job immensely even if it is unconventional. Nothing and no one can dictate to her if she should take these dangerous assignments. She too thought she would have a night of pleasure with her brothers boss and move on like she normally does. Slowly but surely she can see that Dominik is one to take a chance of love on.

What I loved about this book was that this couple had commitment issues for different reasons and the way it is played out for us had me wishing and hoping for the best outcome. Once you have been burnt from a relationship, it’s not easy to let those walls down and I felt for Willow when she found it hard to comprehend her feelings entirely. My heart also aches for Dominik when he thought they weren’t on the same page. And the way he goes about recovering their relationship - swoon! The man goes to great lengths for her. These two are so comparable together. They both like to have control but they compliment each other’s strengths and weaknesses that make them my now favorite couple in this series. I also got a kick out of the three way cross over from Sawyer’s books. It links the two hockey series together as well as her Code Name: series which I’m throughly enjoying too.

*I received a free copy of Dominik from Audible. This has in no way influenced my voluntary review which is honest and unbiased.*

I already loved Dominik when I read the story, and the narration just made it even better! Both Christian Fox and Erin Mallon did a fantastic job of bringing Dominik, Willow and the other characters to life.
I sat in my car at one point, refusing to leave even if I had arrived at work, just shaking my head at something Dominik did... I also truly loved how the feelings both Willow and Dominik shared throughout their relationship came across so well through the narration.
If you're a fan of hockey romances, this book can be listened to without having listened to the rest of the series - even if you might enjoy it even more if you already know the characters.
There was also a short crossover from Bennett's Jameson Security series here - which also made me want the next book from there as well.
