Annie J. Rose is an Amazon top 30 best seller contemporary romance author who loves to bring all of your fantasies to life. She writes steamy romance with a happily ever after.
Born and raised in New Zealand, she often spends most of her time writing stories by her balcony. Pharmacist by day, smut-writer by night.
Boss Daddy was all kinds of messed up. First, the Mc is dating someone who cheated on her. They broke up and then she hooked up with their friend. Then her eggo got preggo and she bounced the fuck outta town without a single word to anyone.
Low and behold, I hated the Mc Missy. She seemed selfish because of how she acted. I didn't care that about her poor situation either. I did, however, feel really bad for this dang kid. Besides all of that, I feel like these two didn't really mesh either. Once Colt found out about the kid and his sickness.. he just kind of went with it and didn't really give a single fuck. He barely asked questions about his damn kid or anything. Father of the year, right?
Well it's not like Missy is mother of the year either. These two were a bit frustrating to deal with and I kind of just wanted this to be over with. Once I reached the end, I rejoiced with a glass of wine and some chocolate - because this book hurt me.
I hated Missy. She dated Chad in high school and broke up with him when she caught him cheating. They had a mutual friend, Colt, and she had feelings for him the whole time she dated Chad. After the break up, she hooked up with Colt out of spite when she saw Chad and the woman he cheated with. The hook up got her pregnant and she fled town without a goodbye to Colt. Six years later she's desperate for a job with a very sick 5 year old son. He needs a transplant and it never occurs to her that Colt might be a match. What a dummy! She finally realizes it but still keeps the secret from Colt because of what he might think. Who cares what he thinks?! Her son could die and is in pain yet she doesn't do all she can to help him.
I was so frustrated with everything Missy did. A real mother would have sucked up her pride and gone to Colt when she first found out her son was sick. Even Colt let me down by not pushing Missy when he found out she had a sick son with a rare blood type. Really? Don't you think he should have pushed for answers knowing he might have a son and he might be able to help him?
Missy went from "knowing" Colt would always care for her to being afraid of how he'd react. The writer did a good job of explaining Missy's thoughts and motivations, but that didn't make them any less stupid and frustrating. 3 stars for the character development, but I found no redeeming qualities in Missy.

This was not a good book to spend my Saturday afternoon with. I won't write too much but just wanted to say that heroine, Missy, has created so much unnecessary drama by her dishonesty and indecision that it made this read a bit painful and not enjoyable at all. I understand her child was sick but the whole story was literally just about her putting adult panties on and telling her boss that he's the Daddy. If she really was that worried about little Mason and a donor for him, why didn't she tell him sooner?
Also quite few misspellings and structural mistakes. Hmmm....unfortunately not my cup of tea.
Messy and Colt are childhood bestfriends. After one misguided hookup, Missy decides to leave without a goodbye. Years later, as her son suffering from a terminal illness is in desperate need of an organ donor, she meets Colt again.
Now that would’ve been interesting and all because it wasn’t the typical porn with plot books floating around here. But the characters are so fucking irritating, I just couldn’t continue anymore.
Spoiler alert!!! I warned you!
Missy, with her dumbass name, is equally just as dumb and an ass. She has a “crush” on her other best friend Colt all throughout her entire relationship yet is “shocked” and "traumatized" when he cheats. Check yo micro cheating woman!!!
ALSO, my biggest gripe with this god forsaken book: Missy’s son is dying. And she had "sacrificed" her entire life into prioritizing him and making sure Mason (her son) was the only thing that mattered. And yet, I’m at 55% of the book and her head is still up her ass. She still refuses to tell the father that he is the father. She refuses to ask him to get tested. Basically, it’s obvious the father is a suitable donor but because of her pride and “abandonment issues”, she’s just letting her son die while also throwing a pity party about it. Abandonment issues are serious, sure. But next to your son dying, there should be no question about it!! The minute she found out he had a terminal illness, she should have gone to Colt. But she didn’t. Because she might lose Colt. Because somehow her son dying is not as painful as losing Colt.
I don’t care that she eventually does tell him and they get a successful transplant. I care that she had to wait so long when her son is clearly suffering and in a lot of pain before getting her head out of her ass. I just keep reading lines like “mason is my only job” “mason this mason that” and yet she never really does anything that proves that.
Overall, Missy's character makes the book incredibly hard to tolerate. The glaring stupidity of it all.
And because of that DNF. IF I COULD GIVE IT HALF A STAR (or no star at all) I WOULD.
This story is about Chad, Colt and Missy who all went to school together and were best friends until the night before graduation when Chad cheated on his then girlfriend, Missy. Colt and Missy stay friends off and on for a couple of years and one night when she is home she gets Colt into a bathroom for a quickie which their relationship was never sexual previously. Colt is overwhelmined and feels he may just get his chance to be with Missy. On her last night home Missy ghost Colt and runs away for 6 years! Colt puts his head down and sets out to do what he said he would! Missy had a son and Colt is the father and Missy never reaches out to Colt even when he becomes very sick. One day she shows up for an interview at Colts business and things go from awkward to full on friends with benefits when Missy wants it. I was disappointed that Missy does not share the truth about their son and only seems to protect herself over the medical help Colt could have been giving and being a part of their son’s life. Colt and Missy have been friends since they were children. When they were about to graduate high school his was her best friend and not long after starting college they got together one time. Missy found out weeks after that she was pregnant and didn't want to hold him back from his dreams she disappeared to have the baby on her own. Now years later she runs into him when she goes for an interview at his company. Sparks reignite between them and its difficult for them to remain professional. What will Colt say when he learns she kept his son a secret? Can they move forward together as a family?
This is an amazing story about two people getting a second chance at love during an emotional time. Once I started I couldn't put this book down. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend it to any book lover.
This was the first book I've had a chance to read by this author and I must say she hit it out of the park. It dealt with so many issues that it's what keep me reading until the end. I had to know what happened. Colt and Missy are childhood friends and then one night things changed and bam next thing she knows is she's pregnant. She disappears for 6 years when times are tough and she has to find a donor of her little boy. Never expecting to get a job with Colt, her baby daddy she finds it hard to keep that secret. Colt knows deep down that she's hiding something and needs to know what, but is final surprised with what it truly is. Things find there where to what eventually changes the lives for good. By the end its a HEA that was so good to see. I give it 5 stars. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book as an Advanced Reader's Copy
INCREDIBLY INTENSE!!! Wow! Man, talk about kicking 'em while they're down. An amazing wild ride that keeps you on the edge of your seat as everything falls into place with such perfection it leaves you breathless. All the turmoil and distress running rampant feels as though you've been put through the wringer more often than not. Twists and turns, along with a few bumps and bruises catapult this bad boy to life beautifully. All the drama, uncertainty, angst and suspense bring this baby together flawlessly. The characters are well developed, believable and so realistic with depth and traits that blend and play off one another in such a smooth flowing rhythm. The scenes are so graphic and detailed it paints a fantastic backdrop that really makes the storyline pop. Incredible job Annie, thanks for sharing this little gem with us.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book It only took one moment of passion between Colt and Missy for their lives to change forever. Can you blame Chad her cheating boyfriend for Missy to make the decisions she made. Only problem is it now has repercussions...a baby. Colt has always loved Missy and her him but why choose Chad , if only Colt would have said something. Now Missy needs help and who knew Colt would be there for her in ways she cannot ever imagine. A brilliant heartwarming and heartbreaking story. Loved it
This was a good read. Colt and Missy grew up together and she dates his best friend Chad. Chad cheats on her and they break up but her and Colt remain friends. When she is home from college, she and Colt share hot night together and she ends up pregnant. She runs, but six years later she is desperate for a job to help save her son and that job ends up being for Colt as his PA. Will the truth finally be revealed and these two get a second chance? Fast-paced read with loads of drama. I liked it.
Omg I hate books like this please put in description we wait 30 years to tell dads about their children ugh.!! Like let’s get serious there are 39 chapters and in chapter 34 is when you finally say he is the dad of a sick child that could have died. You waited till he was almost six. And all this could have been avoided her son would have been healed or better along time ago because everyone knows parents could be possible donors for kidneys or any transplants wish I wouldn’t have read it. It would have been so much better if you didn’t drag out the secret dad. I mean come on he was good enough to keep sleeping with and kissing but not good enough to tell him hey you have a son who is on deaths door and needs a kidney REALLY
A good second chance book. From the beginning of the book, I started rooting for Colt and Missy to get together. Things take a turn in their friendship. After a night together, Missy has a startling Discovery and takes off for 6 years. It was sad finding out that the son Colt never knew about was very sick. Fortunately Colt and Missy get their second chance and happily ever after. Overall it was a great read!
Great second chance romance, with a secret baby thrown in! Colt and Missy have a messy history, and now 6 years later it's about to get really messy! This is full of ups and downs, guilt, forgiveness, but also hope and passion and love that can't be denied.
I liked Colt and Missy’s book. A second chance, secret baby and billionaire boss book all in one. They had great chemistry and I loved Mason. This is my first book of this authors and it won’t be my last. I volunteered to review a copy of this book for an honest review.
I enjoyed Missy & Chad's story. Loved Chad but wasn't huge fan of Missy. It was an intriguing book. I'm voluntarily leaving an honest review for a copy of the book via bookfunnel.
I really enjoyed this one. It's a cute and sweet second chance romance with a touching background story going on throughout. Great characters and well written
I have a hard time with foolish, self centered h's and Missy may be the queen of indecision. Colt deserved better and so does Mason. This was seriously one of the most messed up relationships I have ever read.......No way I am voluntarily reviewing an Advance Reader Copy of this book
I love it when I find a new author to follow & if this is a true reflection of her writing, then Annie J Rose is one to added to my favourites. I love Colt's fidelity to his dreams of Missy. I really feel for her lack of trust in what could be. And of course, I do love a Happy Ever After.
Ms. Annie Rose deserves a pat on the back for the creation of Boss Daddy. Should you read this riveting release, I can promise you that Mason will own every single part of your heart with his bravery alone.
I have had the pleasure to read Ms. Rose's work previously, and what truly gets to me about Annie, is her creative soul. This book is full of realism and with the way she has designed the storyline, she is completely capable of drawing you right in. To be able to keep your complete attention as you read along; well that is a gift and she definitely possess it.
Missy is a strong woman. She is a struggling single Mother, by choice, as well as driven and 100% determined in her life as well as the one she's building with her Son. She has only ever been in love once. Colt was part of her childhood. He grew up right by her side, and all the while was secretly/completely in love, with his best friends girlfriend. After graduation they went their separate ways, however, Colt & Missy stayed in touch for a few years; until one drastic change in their relationship happens causing Missy to run, without looking back. After 6 long years apart, an unexpected encounter brings these two fated individuals together again in an explosive way. Can they get their happily ever after? Can Colt ever understand and forgive Missy, should he discover the secrets she's been harboring? Oh my goodness reader's... If you adore a GREAT romance, you have found it right here. I promise you that you'll be as enraptured, as myself, with this impressive Author and her work. Exquisitely Written.
I voluntarily requested an advanced reader's copy of Boss Daddy in exchange for my honest/voluntarily given opinion and I highly recommend reading this book as well as anything written by Ms. Rose.
Colt has known Missy since they were kids, he has always liked her, but he was too shy to ask her out when they were younger and instead she dated someone else. They were together all through high school and the 3 of them, were the musketeers, until the day before graduation and everything changed. But when Colt sees Missy again after she has left for college and he is still at home, they have an encounter that changes everything. But will Colt see that?
Missy secretly wants Colt, but is afraid to let herself be herself around him and for him. But after their encounter, she leaves and tries to make a better life for herself and her son. But when things are looking up, she runs into Colt, but this Colt is a man that has accomplished so much of what he always discussed would happen. Can she work for the CEO and not let things get personal? She is a single mother and has to do what is best for her son, no matter the cost.
This is a sweet story of finding oneself and your soulmate. This is full of emotions, drama, love, lust, romance, fear and so much more. You will laugh, get angry and be happy for all characters. The story really grabs you. I received an ARC of this book from the author.
🌟4 Stars🌟-Great (had my attention and I enjoyed it),
Dual POV; Standalone; HEA. 17+ readers; No cliffhanger;
Sweet read. This story unfolds over a long period of time. Starting at high school and goes through adulthood. Colt is an amazing boy/man. He has his mind set on starting his own company when he gets older, but has been secretly in love with his best friend. With trials and tribulation and just life getting in the way we see the back and forth of his relationship with Missy. This book will tug ever heart-string. It's heartbreaking and so passionate when needed. You will be rooting for the HEA to happen ASAP.
BOSS DADDY is a fast paced second chance romance. I really liked Colt, a genuinely good guy. Missy was a hot mess. She just was such a selfish girl! There was also some inconsistencies in the book. The story was definitely worth a look, but only if you've got unlimited!
A great love story. I totally loved the storyline and characters. A sweet journey to finding a love that survived time. I definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a great book
