Heaven's Ballroom #2

His Broken Angel

Rate this book
"I haven’t settled down because I don’t believe there’s anyone out there worth settling down for.”

Alpha Nathan Garnet is cocky – and he knows it. Wealthy and successful, he prides himself on his conquests. But when one smart mouthed omega tells him no, Nathan can’t keep himself from being intrigued… or from the thrill of the chase.

“He makes me want to scream – in all the best ways.”

If something bad has happened to a person in a relationship, it’s happened to Damon Bishop. Damon desperately wants to be loved, but growing up a bit of an ugly duckling has left him with less than stellar self-esteem.

His affair with Nathan isn’t meant to last. Too bad no one told that to the passion growing between them.

Welcome to Heaven’s Ballroom, the most luxurious club in the city – with the hottest omega dancers. This mpreg book features one arrogant alpha, an omega who fiercely guards his heart, and the hope that blooms when two broken men surrender to the power of love.

Damon and Nate have their issues, one of them being that they are both worried about relationships. I felt sorry for Damon, who was working so hard at everything to try to improve his life, and then everything went kerflooey.

Alpha Nathan Garnet is wealthy and successful. He’s cocky and makes no apologies for it. He’s used to getting what he wants. But one night at Heaven’s Ballroom he’s told no by a sassy Omega. Nathan is intrigued. He’s not used to hearing the word no.

Omega Damon Bishop has what people would call the worse luck in relationships. If something bad happens in a relationship it’s most likely happened to Damon. All he wants is to be loved but growing up being the ugly duckling has definitely taken a toll on his confidence. When an Alpha tried to get his attention at the club one night he’s not interested. He quickly finds out that this Alpha is persistent so since it’s his birthday, Damon decides why not.

Damon wasn’t expecting much from this Alpha other than another rich, entitled man but he’s pleasantly surprised when he actually haves a good time. Nathan lays on the charm and even Damon can’t resist him. Damon wasn’t expecting their fling to last but Nathan seems to have other plans.

I’m really enjoying this series. The characters are great. It feels like one big happy family. The one thing I wish was for more character development. I felt more could have been explored with both Damon and Nathan. Things seemed a little rushed at the end and I was hoping for more there as well. However, overall I still enjoy these characters and their relationships with each other.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the second book in the Heaven's Ballroom series. In this book, Damon is a dancer at Heaven's Ballroom and he has sworn off dating after a number of bad relationships, including the last one where the alpha stole his cat. Damon is also in school at NYU and is studying to be a physical therapist, while he tries to send money home to his family. When Nathan goes to Heaven's one night, he sees Damon and is attracted to him, but he is really impressed how Damon handles a group of alphas that are too forward. Nathan sends a drink back to Damon, but Damon is not interested, but Nathan doesn't give up. When the other alphas continue to grab Damon, Nathan goes to his rescue and then convinces Damon to go to dinner with him. Nathan has to really work to get Damon to give him a chance and after he does, it seems like everything that can go wrong, does. I enjoyed this book, i thought the banter between Nathan and Damon was funny and adorable. I like how Damon didn't jump at Nathan right away and made him work for him. I also enjoyed reading more of the other dancers, like Anders and his stalker. Another good one and i look forward to the next book.

It was a pleasure to read this exceptionally, well-written heartwarming MM romance. It has an interesting, well-paced story-line & plot. The characters are unique with complex personalities & some of them struggle with self-esteem issues and acceptance as they continue to develop throughout the story-line.
There is: a very successful alpha that becomes exceptional intrigued when a omega turns his request down (Nathan Garnet) his friend & friendly competitor in business (Duncan Rourke), a sassy omega with a extremely low opinion of himself (Damon Bishop), a mischievous yet caring friend (Anders), ballroom dancers, friends, humor, drama, some mild twists, attractions, memories, verbal banter, fantasies, physical conflict, suspicions, determination, discovery, admiration, a unpleasant surprise, desperation, friendly advice, a devious plan, verbal confrontations, misunderstandings, admittance, happiness, love, steamy scenes & a satisfying epilogue with a tantalizing glimpse of what could be the next book in the series “Heaven’s Ballroom” I enjoyed reading this book & would recommend it.

I really enjoyed the first story in this series so was excited to get to read demons story. damon was a dancer at a night club and had a history of dating the wrong guys and decided heness just going to stay away from guys all together especially good looking, smug rich alphas whi used their money to get his attention. He didnt attend to fall for one he met one night on his birthday while at work. Nathan was the date them and leave them kind of guy. he wasnt look to settle down and didnt think he ever would until he met one omega that would soon change that. Nathan was determined to get the stubborn omega to notice him and never thought he would have to work so hard to get someone to like him but also didnt ever think he would want to until he met damon. This was a super fun and adorable read about someone doing whatever it takes to prove themselves to someone they love. Damon thought nathan was just like every other jerk alpha he had dated and nathan was determined to prove him wrong. I really enjoyed this one and read it in one sitting.

Damon has had it with Alphas after a string of bad ones the last of which stole his cat.
Damon works as a dancer at the Heaven’s Ballroom Club has had a string of bad relationships with Alpha the last which stole his cat when he left so he has little interest in the Alphas who visit the club. Nathan was drinking at the club when his eye was caught by one of the dancer but when he tried to buy a drink for him he refused twice but when he saw one of the customers pull him into lap and will not let go and the Bouncer is not in sight Nathan goes to rescue him. Damon agrees to go out for a meal but a phone call from his friend Anders informs him that they have a birthday party for him at his apartment. All Damon wants is to go home and study for an exam the next morning so Nathan offers to let him study at his apartment. A MM romance to relax and enjoy.

Loved this entry in the series just as much as the first. The characters all have such strong personalities that shine through and make them seem so real. This time around, it’s dancer Damon and playboy Nathan that get swept up in each other. Damon is going to NYU on scholarship and dancing at The Ballroom to pay for life’s necessities. He meets Nathan on his birthday when Nathan punches a customer who is being overly aggressive to Damon.

I loved the snark and banter between Nathan and Damon. It’s very much how I am with my wife and close friends so it left me smiling at them. And of course, Lady the corgi was my favorite part because who can resist a corgi? Certainly not me! Looking forward to more books in this series in the future.

I can remember the days of travelling abroad, and leaving messages about where and when to meet friends at a hostel, setting a certain church or monastery as a fallback meeting point - with these boys, not having a phone for a week leaves one feeling humped and dumped, and the other in love, and disappointed.

His fallen angel misses him, but can't return his texts with a broken phone - and heaven help him find a piece of paper with contact info on it. I guess the angel didn't set his contacts to back up to the cloud?

His sexy alpha businessman - shame on him for not calling the place of work for his gent.

technology - nothing better than face to face communication - and maybe some intervention by well meaning friends and pets!

sweetly humorous steamy m/m romance!

Sweet and fun Alpha/Omega story with great banter and lots of heart. I really enjoyed the story-line and the dynamics between these MC's. There was something special there from the first moment and i loved seeing it grow and become love. Writing flowed and the plot was interesting with a nice flow. I am really enjoying this

Lots of fun dialogue and banter will keep you laughing as you watch these two find their way to each other. Nathan and Damon are an awesome steamy connection and it it fun to read about them finding their way to those moments.

i am really enjoying this Heaven's Ballroom series and i am looking forward to the next one. The cast of characters that we meet in this story are interesting and i so want more.

Nathan and Damon meet in Heaven's Ballroom when Nathan comes to Damon's aid when three alphas get way to handsy. This story gives you all the good feels with a side of angst. Nathan just wants Damon to like him and Damon just wants to not have another alpha a-hole take advantage of him. Through their roller coaster ride of a relationship you get to see them make mistakes, fall in love and grab their HEA. Such a great series.

Nathan is a determined alpha with a cocky attitude who is not used to being refused. Damon is an insecure omega whose past has shown him alphas cannot be trusted. When they finally give in to their passion it is explosive and life changing. However, the events immediately following cause angst, doubts, fear, and uncertainty.
A great story with characters and a storyline that are interesting and will keep your attention.

Sometimes, you gotta get out of your own head. Life is about self preservation when deep down you still want a life partner who has your back, always. When is a good time to stop and listen to your heart/mind when they sync up? Delightful story. As always, Mr Bates' series highlight adorable people who you would want as friends. The courtship has you hoping everyone can find a HEA. The human struggle of self-awareness is a good live/romance lesson. Well done, Mr. Bates. I received an ARC from Booksprout for a review.

I really enjoyed this quick read. I loved Damon's snarky omega. Even though he has some self-image issues, he's not willing to put up with arrogant alpha-holes. Nathan steps in to protect him one night at the club, but is he really that different? The story has some great banter between the two MCs, misunderstanding and miscommunication, a little drama, and some humor. An all around a fantastic read and a great addition to the series.

Hard to get, easy

When Nathan met him, he wasn't really interested. He had plans for a life. He had school, a scholarship, a job and friends. That was plenty, for now.
When Damon met the cocky, arrogant Wall Streeter, he saw danger; danger just like the other Alpha's that got him off course and broken hearted.
When this story came together, it was fun and enchanting. The Heavens Ballroom books have been well written with good plots and awesome characters. Looking forward to number 3.

Damon’s story was incredible. An omega who’s a bit damaged, meets a playboy that can’t help but fall in love with the damaged omega dancer.

Their story isn’t all rainbows and hearts but after their struggles they finally get their happy ending.

This sweet and saucy mpreg love story was amazing from beginning to end

Damon didn't trust any alphas. Nathan only wanted Damon. Nathan slowly won Damon over. Damon was learning to trust an alpha, only to think Nathan was like all the others. While Nathan was away he went and stole back Damon's cat from his ex. Damon found out that he was pregnant. When Nathan returned he gave him his cat and told him that he loved him.

Damon is dancing at the Heavens Ballroom Club when Nathan decides he is the omega for him, but no amount of top shelf drinks are going to get Damon to say yes. He has been treated badly by too many Alpha’s already. The only thing Damon wants is a quiet place to study for his exams and fortunately for Nathan he can provide just the place, but he would like to provide Damon with much more.

This is fun! It's not exactly an I-can't-put-it-down-read but more of an please-let-me-get-back-to-my-happy-place comfort read. It's got a cocky alpha who makes arrogance look charming and a reserved omega with self-worth issues. Lots of banter and some (not too severe) drama, some really sweet dating and some steam make a good balance.
Those epilogues though. They are NOT epilogues, they are teasers for the next book. Which I will probably read anyway, so there, I said it.

Damon a dancer meets Nathan a wall street broker, this is their story.
You will laugh, cry, and wonder at the way people can second guess themselves and mess up things by just jumping to conclusions instead of talking to each other.

A good story and relatively quick read

Damon and Nathan's story is nice, good message about never giving up and trusting someone. I'm not sure I would be able to live with Anders, he definetly comes across as gorgeously high maintenance - Damon deserves a medal! A good short read.

Really enjoying this series...

Nathan may have been broken, but when the right Alpha to notice of him, he was no longer broken. They had their rocky start, which ended with a HEA. I'm very happy that I came across this series, it was really enjoyable to read. Now I'm ready for the next book.

I haven’t laughed this hard with a story in a while now. These two were comedy gold. Nathan is a special kind of idiot. But he gave it to you straight, no game-playing, nothing. I can appreciate that.

Love is… getting into a fistfight with your lover’s ex in order to steal back their cat. And nobody can convince me otherwise.
