This book was really great at inspiring thoughts about ideas to make one's home less cluttered and more space efficient. With a blend of simply chatting about the different areas of one's home, and how things can be stored and set out differently, it also has a large number of DIY projects that are relatively simple. Some use everyday items most of us would already have in our home. Other projects might require some outlay in the form of purchasing materials. All, however, are pretty intuitive and interesting to discover.

It is definitely a book I will refer to several times as I try some of the DIY projects out. The only negative thing about it is that there is some repetition, with some projects being repeated in different sections of the book. It's still well worth a read through, and likely a book that would be picked up quite a few times. Awesome!

Odd Collection of Easy “DIY” Projects

I'll just say it right up front: I found this book to be ridiculous. Honestly, after having read some other books by the author, I didn't have much high hope for it. But the topic was so different from the other books that I did have at least some expectation of it being better. I received this in PDF format from one of my favorite book review sites, and it weighs in at over 350 PDF pages. The first 30 pages or so, unfortunately, just regurgitate some generic and not so good advice about decluttering. Even though the series is called the Declutter Workbook, in a book that is supposed to be about DIY projects, I think it's okay to stick to just that or talk about the projects as they relate to decluttering. Once you get past this introductory material, the book is organized by the different rooms in the house that the projects would ultimately go into. But what made this ridiculous is the type of projects. When I think of DIY projects, I think of something kind of complex (requiring tools) but doable and hopefully producing something in the end that’s cool or different from what is commercially available. Many of these so-called projects are more like simple craft projects (not DIY ones) and just had a few supplies needed. A few vague steps are given, and then you just put it in a particular room in the house. There wasn't much creativity or anything interesting about most of them. A few, but not many, required tools like a saw. There were a few more complicated projects, but not by much. Unfortunately for the more complicated ones, the directions given were laughable. I am certainly not impressed by the types of projects in this book.

I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review..

Yes another common sense read, but explained in a way that may just make the light turn on in someone's head. This read is well thought out and offers tips and tricks, along with some detailed plans on how to build or assemble more storage options in your home and garage. We could all use some clutter reductions methods. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy without expectations.

This is a good book. A lot of interesting ideas. I like the bins on the wall in the bath. Using PVC pipe for storing your hair dyer and curling iron. The good thing is you can color, paint or put decals on them to match your bath or bedroom. A lot of very good ideas. I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Blah Blah Blah

This book was like every other decluttering book. There was nothing unique or different. Hello!! Got this book because I need help. Blah Blah Blah. Same song and dance. Not helpful for me.

A good book

I like most of the projects. There were some I would not do, because they would be difficult to do with my disabilities. I do not have a garage, so those projects would not be needed.

DNF. This book seem to be obvious tips some of which actually didn’t make sense. I am not normally a gram or nut but the writing was very bad. A lot of things seem to be gleaned from other sources and organization was poor. Not an author I would check out again.

A few interesting ideas, but the illustrations only show the finished project, not each step. Some photos look like they're straight from Pinterest.

ok ideas

Some of the ideas were great, others didn’t work for me. Overall great for crafty people. I am not that person.

This was a free download and had a couple of ideas that I quite liked. Bear in mind it has a lot of photos and will take a big chunk to download.
Each project has a photo and instructions, plus any tools you will need.
I liked the ‘task buckets’ and the idea of a locker /cupboard space for each family member (assuming you had the room).
Mesh magazine racks get used for everything from earring hangers to toilet paper holders.
And fold back clips are multi-purpose as well.
