Loving the Enemy

Rate this book
Zaira’s memories have returned. She can’t accept nor forgive the truths that have been kept from her by the one man she trusted above all others - Michael Vitali

She knows exactly who he is ...

She knows what he is ...

She knows what he’s done ...

And despite all that - she loves him.

When the Vitalis are faced with a new threat, Zaira once again gets caught in the middle and is used as a pawn putting her life in danger.

She soon realizes that life is too short. Forgiveness and acceptance are overrated when you're about to lose your one and only true love. She makes up her mind that despite everything she wants Michael back.

Will Michael take the risk again; or will he turn his back on the only woman he’s ever loved and move on?

Biography
Amy Cecil is an award-winning Indie author of both historical and contemporary romance. Her penchant for Austen fan fiction, won her the title of Favorite Historical Romance Author (2016-2017) while her MC series has won several awards throughout the Indie community. Recently, she has expanded her repertoire to the thriller and erotic genres.

For as long as she can remember, Amy always had a book (or two) that she was reading for the love of getting lost within its pages. Amy has been heard to have said, “I’ve never given much thought to becoming a writer myself until I realized that if I hadn’t written my own version of Mr. Darcy, I might have run out of material to read.”

And thus, her first novel was born, A Royal Disposition. In the words of Miss Austen herself, “I wish as well as everybody else to be perfectly happy; but, like everybody else, it must be in my own way.” Ms. Cecil writes to do just that.

She lives in North Carolina with her husband, Kevin, and their four dogs. When she isn’t creating her next masterpiece, or traveling the country for book signings, she enjoys spending time with her husband, friends, and of course her fur babies.

“Face life as you find it-defiantly and unafraid.” -Nietzsche

Loving the Enemy
Enemy Duet Book 2
By Amy Cecil
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I'm Micheal Vitali head of Vitali family and I don't take crap from anyone and you had better not mess with my family. I've been in love with my wife since I was younger and I'll admit the way I made her my wife wasn't exactly right so yeah she's got a right to be angry with me, but everything I've ever done was for her and the good of the family.

I'm Zaira Vitali and I will not forgive my husband for the truths he has kept from me. I trusted him. Him and only him and now I'm caught in this war. I can't believe this, but now that I've admitted a few things to myself here it is. The truth is deep down I really do love him you know. Micheal is all I have ever wanted and if it wasn't for him I'd be married to Victor and dead. I can survive this I know I can and when Michael comes for me I'll show them. I'll be the best darn mafia wife you've ever seen.

Will Micheal take the risk again and let himself love Zaira or will he turn his feelings cold and walk away from the only woman he's ever loved?

Amy Cecil has totally thrown me for a loop by blowing me away once again. This fantastic book is chalked full of everything one could ever want in a mafia book. Then you add the MC Knights of Silence and it's absolutely incredible. Ms. Cecil has hit this one right out of the ball park.

I'm so in love with this family. I love everything about it. I was shocked about halfway through it then foresaw what the next thing that happened. I love how well these characters meshed well together and would love to read more about them. I really loved Ricco & Alex's way of teasing Michael & Zaira's relationship & love between them. Would love to see a foreseeable story about Ricco & Alex. I also loved Michael's parents and how they really accepted Zaira in the family. Also the sisters were a hoot as well. Please write more about this family. They were very enjoyable to read and see behind the Mafia.

😭😭😭😭 Amy you ripped my heart out in this one!!!! Why oh why?

Loving the Enemy is book two and you most definitely have to read book one Forgetting the Enemy first. This book may not be as emotional for you as it was for me. Amy has had the Knights of Silence MC make an appearance but dont worry, you won't feel lost reading the Enemy Duet series. Michael and Ziara's wicked, wild journey continues. Plenty of jaw dropping moments that will keep you on your toes. This series is a MUST read for 2019. I hope there is more to come.

This was the second in the series of the New York Vitali Family. Ms. Cecil beautifully included her MC Biker characters and wrote a story that was full of sex, violence, betrayal and family. The interwoven stories were complex and full of interesting twists and unexpected results. As usual I was left full of emotions. Looking forward to the next trip to either the world of Bikers or the Mafia family. Thank you for creating such interesting characters that keep you coming back often to visit just to see what happens next.

This book tore my heart apart and put it back together slowly. There were times that I wanted to smack people and there were times I wanted to cry and hug them. The gamut of emotions that Amy put into this book has me amazed. She really surprised me with this book. I fell in love with Michael and Zaira in forgetting and I love them even more now. They become stronger through all the twists both together and as individuals. Do not miss this duet.

It is very clear from the very beginning that Michael loves Zaira but she can't get past what Michael has done!! If you read the first book you know what it is. As the story continues things get heated, when things are said done, there a death, a kidknapping and a happily ever after!!
Awesome book, its highly recommend in my book!!

Emotionally charged!

Amy Cecil has done it again. She has ripped out my heart, stomped on it and then picked it up to put back together to make it better. Zaira and Michael are torn apart even though she still loves him. Michael loves her so completely that he would do anything, including letting her go, to make her happy. Time heals all wounds and Zaira is about to find that out the hard way. I love that the Knights of Silence MC are included and hope to see the Vitali family included in more books to come. A suspenseful, dark and utterly fantastic mafia read! Amy Cecil is one hell of an amazing author! Thank you for your mad skillz girl 💘

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book. WOW!!! Loving the Enemy- Duet book 2 was an thrilling, emotional, exciting read. After Zaria's memory returns she wants nothing to do with Michael when she learns the truth. Even though Michael tries to convince her everything he did was to protect her she wants a divorce and he agrees, but only on his terms. The chemistry between these two is so intense and at times amusing. Now the Vitali's family is in danger from an outside source and a betrayal from within. Once again Zaria is caught up and put in danger, can Michael and the Knights of Silence MC save her in time as Zaria comes to terms that she always loved Michael and wants him back. So happy that Amy Cecil had the alpha men of the MC helping Michael from book 1. This book will take you on one emotional roller coaster ride, a real page turner that had danger, violence, plenty of passion and sad moments. This is one book that is a must read and I highly recommend this to all fans of Amy Cecil. Hopefully this is not the end.

Loving the Enemy delivers an emotional account of desire, sacrifice, truth and justice that are all found in the underworld of a typical Mafia romance.

The author, Amy Cecil journeys into the life of Michael and Zaria Viatali. A young married couple who are brought together in love, death and choice.

Loving the Enemy is the second installment of the duet that is a assemblage of consequential events that brings Michael and Zaira together, only to rip them apart and pieces them back together again.

The central idea that runs through both books is "One must take a risk or lose the chance to live and love".

This reader enjoys the darker themed romances, but I truly enjoyed reading the up and downs that is Michael and Zaira's story.

Whoa! What an emotional roller coaster! I love that the author intertwined her MC with the Mafia family. The depth of all the characters and every twisting storyline kept me turning the pages. A fabulous duet of books!

Great finish to the duet. I loved the tie-in with the MC and the pre-loved characters. It gave this one a touch of familiarity which I loved. Well worth the read

What an action packed story. What happens when the mafia, and an MC join together against a Mexican cartel? You can expect excitement, chaos, war, kidnapping , shooting , and murder.
This is Zaira's and Michael's love story, a second chance, but it is not without the danger effecting their lives and family. This story is intense, sexy and intriguing.
Maya Bravo and Mark Bravo are excellent narrators. They just don't tell this story, they live it. They emote every Feeling of love, anger, angst, fear, pain, of every character in this story. Bringing all the characters to life. I loved listening to it.

This picks right up where the last book ends. Zaira's memory is back and she wants a divorce. Both of our main characters love each other but maybe they're just not meant to be together or maybe, just maybe things will come about that make them face their feelings. This book has characters for the Knights of Silence MC series and interconnects with an ongoing story line there. This read was wonderful, heartbreaking at times, full of suspense and had some pretty hot times too! Loved this duet.

I absolutely loved the action and intrigue of the first book in this series and couldn't wait to get my hands on the conclusion since it had one heck of a cliff-hanger. The first part was good even though I wanted to tell miss high and mighty to get off her high horse and come down with us mere mortals (she really wasn't that bad I am just being dramatic). The battle of wills between them along with the betrayal, action and the results was all good and kept you glued to the pages. Then the author seemed to loose steam. While more does follow and it has to happen to finish off the story lines, it then becomes a blur of sex and lost the intensity it started with. Now I am not saying it's bad because it isn't. The first part of the story was so well done that it puts a higher expectation on the ending, one of the dangers of doing a duet. I will be reading more of this author's work because I do enjoy her style and her characters. The fact that through it all he never strayed from his commitment to his wife was major in my book. I just wish the author had been able to keep the intensity of the book from the beginning to the end. Then again being the book addict that I am a little bit biased.

Loving the Enemy
Enemy Duet, Book 2
By: Amy Cecil
Narrated by: Mark Bravo, Maya May Bravo

I needed this book. I needed to know what was going to happen with Michael and Zaira! This friends to enemies to lovers story had me hooked in book one and I was dying to see how it would end. We left book one on a cliffhanger, and now get to see how things get moving. With Zaira's memory restored, things now look a little different. These two are on the outs...or are they? Will they find their way back to each other? Will love prevail? These two have combustible chemistry. It just heats up every conversation they have. But there is danger lurking, and the crossover of the Knights of Silence MC just enhances the story line for me. I love those characters and their involvement ties it all together. Love, passion, fear, danger, tears and grief all came with this conclusion to the duet, but it left me still wanting more. And lucky for me, Saint's book will tie out the entire series. I can't wait.

Mark and Maya Bravo continue the narration of duet and the Knights of Silence MC, giving us everything. I love this couple! They know their characters, keep them consistent between books and have become our community. Each voice is on point and gives us every feeling to make the story come alive.

Loving the enemy is packed with, suspense, action and emotion. It is erratic, heartfelt, heart-wrenching and adventures. Make sure you have your box of tissues close by it will make you ugly cry. Loving the Enemy has some erotic scenes, the best I have read in any of Amy Cecil's books. This book and series is a must read!!

Loving the Enemy by Amy Cecil is the 2nd book of Enemy Duet. It continues off where Forgetting the Enemy left off, it was easy to continue with the story and not feel confused as to what the heck was going on. We find out if Zaira finally forgives Michael for what he did in book one, Do they stay married and does Michael let Zaira come back after he gave her permission to move back to her families home? Michael is given a proposition that he does not like and decides to think on it. When this happens Michale's life becomes a whirlwind and it brings The Knights of Silence into a good portion of the book. We find out a little more why Sainte decides to join the MC.

Amy Cecil has become an author where I can not wait for her next book to come out, I want to read more of what she writes. Loving the Enemy ends the duet perfectly!

Zaira's memory is back, but she still wants the divorce to go through, at least, that's what she keeps telling Michael. She just can't see the good Michael has done for her through her blind support of her father. She's hurting right now and sometimes it's easier to nurse that hurt, especially considering how stubborn she is. But her stubbornness might just land her in hot water.

Michael has decided to give Zaira the divorce, it's what she wants, and he loves her enough to let her go. But if we've learned anything about Michael, he might just have a few tricks up his sleeve. Besides, he has a lot on his plate right now. He's called in the MC he works with to give him some help against the man intent on either bringing Michael in or taking him down.

Wowzah! So one of the things I love about this duet is that it ties into Amy's MC series. Because of this crossover, we get some desperately needed answers. Amy takes us on an emotional roller coaster as we watch the worst imaginable happen to Michael and Zaira. I love the chemistry between the two, to say it's intense would be an understatement. Very well done!

Loving The Enemy by Amy Cecil is a mafia romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Mark Bravo and Maya Bravo. This is the second book in The Enemy Duet series.

Amy did a great job wrapping up Michael and Zaira's story. I really enjoyed getting to see the characters from the Knights of Silence MC series. I can't wait for Sainte to be released on audible.

Mark and Maya did an amazing job on the narration. They really know how to bring a story to life.

It is suggested to read/listen to this series along with the Knights of Silence MC Series since they do overlap characters. I personally would recommend that you listen in the suggested order for best experience.

ICE - Knights of Silence MC Book 1
ICE on FIRE - Knights of Silence MC Book 2
Celtic Dragon - Knights of Silence MC Book 3
Forgetting the Enemy - Enemy Duet Book 1
Raw Honey - Knights of Silence MC Book 4
Loving the Enemy - Enemy Duet Book 2

Loving the Enemy - Enemy Duet Book 2 is just what I was hoping it to be, the continuation of the beautiful love story of Michael and Zaira. The book is filled with so much excitement, danger, angst, romance, passion and love. And let's not forget the steamy sex scenes, lol.
The story is so spellbinding, it had me riveted to my seat wanting to finish it all in one reading, I don't think I slept at all.
But dang Amy, you slayed my heart wide open, that one section of the story had me snot crying as I was so heartbroken. But I still absolutely loved this book anyways.
You have to read this second book of the Enemy Duet if you read the first one, or you will regret it, I promise you this.
I cannot wait to read the rest of the books coming up in the Knights of Silence series. They were a big part of this book, I was so glad to see them and get updates. Definitely recommend this book.

Zaira is not just willing to forgive and forget the fact that Michael wasn’t honest with her and she wants a divorce and Michael has agreed but he has a few stipulations she must meet first. Before that can happen they are betrayed by someone close to them and Michael will do whatever is necessary to rescue the woman who has stolen his heart.

This is a story about a love too strong to be denied where we get to spend time with Ice and the boys as well as Zaira and Michael. The storyline is action packed, full of action and a great conclusion to the duet. The narrators did a great job of ensuring that the suspense and angst of the story is brought across to the listeners. 🎧 Audiobook Obsession

This is the second book in The Enemy Duet, a dark Mafia Romance interconnected with the MC Knights of Silence Series. I love interconnected Series! The cover is beautiful. You have to listen to this Series in order, for a better understanding. Zaira and Michael's story continues where Forgetting the Enemy left off. They are both great characters, and they share a strong and sizzling chemistry. Michael is the head of the Vitali Family. He is powerfull, protective, and caring. The story is action packed, intense, and filled with twists and turns. Mark Bravo and Maya May Bravo did an amazing job with the narration. I love their voices together. Looking forward to listen to the fifth and last book in the MC Knights of Silence Series, Sainte!

Loving the Enemy

Another awesome book by Amy. I truly fell in love with this book and the first book. It was a great love story between this couple, Michael and Zaria. After all she went through she realized she would always love Michael no matter what, he was the only one for her. I was sad it was over at the end because it was such a good read. It was one of those books you didn’t want to end.

Loving The Enemy - 5 Stars!

Book 2 in the Enemy Duet bring us back to Michael and Zaira. Amy Cecil has a way of writing that pulls me in and makes me forget everything that's going on around me. This story had it all, from the sizzling scenes, suspense, joy and heartbreak along the way (you'll need tissues even though there's an HEA). It captivated me from beginning to end. A definite must read!

This is the second part of Michael and Zaira’s story. I love their story and seeing the wonderful conclusion. The intermingling of Amy’s two main series is fun. It’s well written with wonderful action, suspense, and steamy sex. Make sure to grab your box of Kleenex as tragedy strikes and my heart was broken. Never fear there is a HEA.

Truly different

Wonderful conclusion to Michael and Zaira's story. It's a classic mafia story with larger than life characters and rich imagination. Since the duet is the first I've read from this author, there were a host of MC characters that were introduced and that I can't wait to read more about. Highly recommend this duet!

I had a book hangover for days!! The conclusion to Zaira and Michael's story was gripping, brilliant and devastatingly haunting. There were so many twists and turns. Zaira was fiercely strong. Michael was a patient lover. They are beautiful together. I absolutely loved this book!
