“Case of the Yorkshire Pudding - (Unleashed #5)” continues the loving adventures of MCs Finn & Jane, their close friends Jess and Care, and Finn’s mom Winnie & Finn’s twin brother and his wife.

It’s not that I forgot to mention this book’s dog (the Yorkie), it’s just that he and his mystery were so lame there’s just not much to say. Really. Weakest “mystery” ever. Sometimes I wonder just how competent bad-ass jerk-cop Jane actually is as a detective!

Other than that disappointment, the book is actually wonderfully enjoyable. Finn and Jess aren’t just in love, they’re now married, and we get teasing flashbacks to their honeymoon…though as usual, Finn declines to share too many (or any!) details with us. It continues to be very cute how she talks directly to us as listeners! While this is, as is Erik’s style, fade-to-black sex, this book has lots of teasing and Finn openly lets us know she very much enjoys her private times with Jane. What is it she says…oh yes….”les sigh”. Which I find particularly humorous because she’s saying “lay sigh” as if it were a french phrase, but of course the french word “les” is spelled as the abbreviation for lesbian! I know, I know…get on with the review!

So many tv shows fail soon after the tension between the love interests is removed and the characters marry. I’m happy to report that so far, Erik is doing a great job of maintaining fun interest for us, and fun dialogue and interactions between Finn and Jane!

Erik is keeping the series not only alive, but interesting and quick moving. Finn and Jane discuss children, and I can’t wait to see how that moves forward.

I rate “Case of the Yorkshire Pudding” 4.5*, but I’m rounding down to 4* because the mystery of the dog case was unnecessarily weak. But if you’ve listened to any of this series, you’ll want to add this book to your collection. 5* to the narrator!!

Finnegan McLeary-May, dog walker extraordinaire can even find trouble on her honeymoon. She and her bride, Detective Jane McLeary (is she also McLeary-May now?) find a lost yorkie on their honeymoon trip and bring it back to New York City to try to find its owners. The mystery is that the dog isn't what it seems, but like most of the later Unleashed books, the mystery takes a backseat to the relationship between Finn and Jane, and their BFFs and Finn's family -- which is ok, because the relationships are the best part of the series.

4.5 stars This is the coziest of cozy mystery series. Don't read this for the mystery, it's easy to figure out, I think I was about 1/3 in and new the outcome. Read this for the cozy and the warm, loving characters.

This book just became available on Audible and that was the version I "read". There is so much cuteness that I can feel my teeth cringing in terror at the sweetness of the tale. It is another fun story with Finn and her jerk cop. The paint ball battles are especially fun as you can almost hear Finn squealing. As always the production of the Audible is wonderful and Claire Buchignani does a wonderful job giving voice to the story.

Another Case of Adorable

This book is right up there with all of the others in the Unleashed series. It was super cute and funny. I really do like that the series is dedicated to one couple, which means we get to know them better than other characters.

Also, shout out to the crossover with the MotS series. I wish the Heartsong Warriors franchise was real...

There is no other book that will leave you feeling this happy go lucky! The criminal case was not something convoluted or complicated. Finn and Jane are already married, and we as readers can look into their sweet married life, with their families and dogs, of course. Seriously, this series is so sweet that there is a dangerous person to catch diabetes.

Wow! as this series continues, what can I say ... I'm still enjoying myself and have not lost interest in finding out how we got to the 10th book in this series which is where I started (well, only read the 1st chapter) but needing to understand how we got to that point after finding out it was a series, well had to start from the beginning and this half way point was very endearing. I love how the whole family came to Fin's rescuer this time! I love that the author is taking time to also share good old fashion family/quality time to show us more of the characters personalities and what make them, them. Moving on to the next book! :-)

4 stars. Aww, this was super duper adorable! Finn and Jane are now married and are already adopting a child. My heart! They’re just so cute together. This was super light on plot and was just more of a slice of life fluffier than usual filler and I’m not mad at all. It was very cute and fun and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
