Provides great insight into the historical reasons for African revolutions in South, Southeastern, and Southwestern Africa. Burchett uses interviews he had with important figures in the African nationalist movements along with historical context at the time to develop a coherent, logical, chronological dialogue for African resistance against European imperialism. The only reason I don't give this book 5 stars is I feel like it didn't talk about Guinea Bissau nearly as much as the title might suggest. However this is almost an irrelevant issue as the book is an important primary source for people interested in African, especially Angolan, history.
