Jim "Liar" Huntley's loyalty to the Riot MC brotherhood is unquestionable. Especially since before becoming a fully-patched member, he killed a man to protect a brother. When a favor to another brother forces him to meet Andrea Paglia, he knows she's out of his league. Making matters worse, she is off-limits because she's old friends with the President's old lady. Weeks later, Liar notices his brothers ogling Andrea at a club party, and he cannot restrain his anger.
Andrea falls in lust with Liar the moment he walks into her massage studio. She senses Liar restraining himself around her, but she's determined to go after the man she wants. For once, she grabs what she wants from life. Conflict arises when former co-workers implore her to lend them a hand during the holidays. Forced to tell Liar about her past, she uncovers another facet to her alpha biker.
Little does Andrea know, she's being used as a pawn in a larger scheme to bring down the Riot MC. Liar believes Andrea deceived him and will not be betrayed twice. The perceived deception tears Liar and Andrea apart while also forcing a rift between the Riot MC brothers.
Liar discovers he was wrong, and struggles between guarding his heart and asserting his love for her. Will he be able to claim her as his own?
Karen Renee is the author of the Riot Motorcycle Club, Beta, and O-Town series of books. She once crunched Nielsen ratings data but these days she brings her imagination to life by writing books. She has wanted to be a writer since she was very young, but it’s taken the last twenty plus years for her to amass enough courage and overall life experience to bring that dream to life. Some of those life experiences came from the wonderful world of advertising, banking, and local television media research. She is a proud wife and mother, and a Jacksonville native. When she’s not at the soccer field or cooking, you can find her at her local library, the grocery store, in her car jamming out to some tunes, or hibernating while she writes and/or reads books.
We are really loving this series, and we really loved Liar and Andrea's story.
I have to say that this author has created a great cast of character's for us to fall in love with, and we love the MC character's old ladies even more.
Andrea is a bit of a free spirit who believes in saving the planet but, she also is loving and caring and has this vibrant personality who made us laugh and chuckle throughout this entire story but, she is also the kind of girl who speaks her mind and is very independent.
Liar is a bit of a mystery but, I love how much he loves is grandmother and how tight he is with his family but, he is a restless soul who has been hurt in the past and is not wanting to trust and believe that someone who would want to be with him because he doesn't believe he is good enough for anyone let alone Andrea the women he is falling for.
Lair and Andrea had some major chemistry going on, and their sexual interludes were super hot. The story was filled with a bit of suspense and romance and laughter, and we thoroughly enjoyed it to the very end.
I will say that I was disappointed with Lair and his club at their treatment of Andrea later on the story because not one soul believed in her innocence except Roll and not one person took into consideration that she was a kind and loving genuine women not a fake and her daily life and actions spoke of who she was, and then you had Volt more vicious than the rest "did", he never took into consideration that his wife had a seven-year friendship with this woman, and she would know her better than anyone else and her word should stand for something ?
"The whole club just pissed me right off !"
Overall we loved it as it was really a fun read, and we are so looking forward to the next in this series.
"For the first 70% of this book it was a 1 star for me. It was only the ending that really changed my opinion on this book because that’s when all the feels came and hit me hard. Very hard. Andrea and Liar breaking up like the pain she felt and the heartbreak that hit me hard and it gave me the boost of emotion that I needed."
I started by laughing my ass off : the H was happy with how the h looked because he had big hands and no woman had enough boobs to fit his biiiiig hands ....just so you know, i am still laughing writing 🤣😂🤣
On a more serious note could not get into the story, but maybe because I missed the 3 other books of this serie.
Amount of sex 4 / 5 How explicit is the sex scenes 4 / 5 Story 4.5 / 5 Overall: 4.5 / 5
I just love being back with the Riot MC men and women! I have been counting the days until Calming the Riot, the fourth book in the series was released. Since each book focuses on a different couple, I do believe you can read it as a standalone romance. Even though this is true, there is a back story that continues throughout the series. Therefore, I do suggest that you read the series from the beginning. I honestly believe that you will appreciate this story even more by reading them in order. Just know that it’s a suggestion.
Calming the Riot tells the story of Liar and Andrea. Liar is a newly initiated brother, and he meets Andrea while running an errand for his brother, Vamp. Andrea is a massage therapist, and she owns her own place called Warm Vibes. They were pretty explosive together, and their sex scenes were deliciously naughty! When Andrea is threatened, Liar goes on alert and does whatever he can to keep her safe. That is until a conflict arises and Andrea becomes a pawn in hurting the Riot MC.
I was captivated with this story, and I loved every minute of it. I didn’t want it to end, and now I’m counting the days until Foolish Riot, the next book in the series.
I thought claiming riot was really good it would be the fist book that I had the pleasure of reading by the author . I can't wait to read more by her also want to go back and read the other stories in the Riot mc . This can read as a standalone but like I said I'll be going back to read the previous books in the series . Really liked the characters and I grew to like them as the story went on they showed a lot of heart and strength for what they believe in . So can't wait to have more books by the author in my kindle you don't want to miss out on this ride one click as soon as possible . I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book **************************************** hero= 8 heroine=8 secondary characters=8 Chemistry=10 romance=8 humor=2 darkness level=3 action=3 mystery=3 enjoyment=10 angst=3 story line=10 Story ending=9 character development=10 pacing=10 cover=10 Blurb =10 Stars =4 Is this part of a series =yes Can it be read as a standalone =yes would I recommend this book=yes would I re read this book=yes would I read future books by this author= yes
This is the fourth book in the Riot MC series and I would suggest reading this series in order (if you haven't read them yet). I will say this, this is actually the second book I have read in this series. I have not read the first two books. But have read the third and this one. I will also say I think you should read them in order because their backstory seems to carry throughout each book.
Jim "Liar" Huntley and Andrea don't exactly have the best first meeting with each other. Liar is running an errand for a brother and ends up at Andrea's masseuse parlor. Then each run in from that moment seems to be filled with misunderstandings and tension.
You could definitely see a connection forming between the two of them each time they were together. But then once again a misunderstanding almost tears these two apart. And Lair has to prove to Andrea that they truly belong together.
I have to say that I thought that this book started out a bit slow and kind of trudged along and I found myself wanting to skim through it at times. But I didn't, because I wanted to get the whole story and enjoy it. Other than that I thought it was enjoyable.
This next addition to the series brings us Liar and Andi’s story.
The biggest concern I have with this book is that we don’t know Andi on a deeper level. We know Liar’s past and about his family. We also get to meet them throughout the book.
Andi on the other hand is someone we don’t really get to know. We know her on the surface, what she does for a living and that she is into protecting the environment. Liar never asks her about her family or tries to get to know her, Andrea. It’s at the end of the book that we even get the slightest look at her family.
I wish we had a little more depth between Liar and Andi. I did feel their connection and chemistry. I can see why Liar’s betrayal hurt her deeply but I felt it was a one sided relationship. That hurt me for Andi.
I enjoyed seeing main characters from past books as well as some villains meeting their end in this book. The MC as a whole and their women are fun to read about. I just felt that Liar and Andi were lacking something that the other books had.
It’s still a good book and great addition to the series. I’m a huge fan of this author which is why I may be a little picky. Who knows! Maybe she wrote their story in this way because of the future books she had planned.
Very much looking forward to Trixie and Roll’s story!
This one was really good. I understand that there had to be conflict and trust was his kryptonite. But after the blowup, the story made no sense. So much could have been done to resolve the issue which could have maintained the characters character. SPOILER: she was crushed, he got off to easy and she forgave but he still did not have to get off with no groveling. And I don’t think the author was successful with the Liar’s personality. This was a miss for me. Volt got off to easy too. The club did nothing to make it up to her. This one fell really short. The injuries, medical bills, her loss of income….totally ignored. If this was the first one I read, I would not have read any other books in this series.
Like Taylor Swift said “ you don’t need to forgive them”… I don’t get why people it’s ok with no grovel at all! The way all the club behave with her is execrable, the way they ( don’t) apologize to her is horrendous, for weeks she is alone and physically hurt… nobody of that club goes in there… really… she said some stupid things… I don’t get it… she even apologizes… if you say a woman is yours, act like she is yours, sometimes the author makes it looks like is all about the sex, The end is rush, there’s no grovel, she is alone, he goes there with a tuna sandwich after months and one hour later she doesn’t know why he has to leave without fucking!!!, like What the duc?! This is a romance book?! When a book makes you angry it’s not a bad sign,
So I realize this is a series and I didn't read the other books but I don't feel like I missed anything that would change my opinion of this book. And after finishing this one I do plan to go read the other 3 because I loved Calming the Riot! I mean when the H's name is Liar how can I not love the book?
Calming the Riot tells the story of Liar and Andrea. Liar is a newly initiated brother, and he meets Andrea while running an errand for his brother, Vamp. Andrea is a massage therapist, and she owns her own place called Warm Vibes. They were pretty explosive together, and their sex scenes were deliciously naughty! When Andrea is threatened, Liar goes on alert and does whatever he can to keep her safe. That is until a conflict arises and Andrea becomes a pawn in hurting the Riot MC.
Talk about jumping to conclusions! Upon first meeting Andrea, Liar assumes that she’s not for him and that she’s far too uptight and, dare I say, rigid, for the likes of him. Of course, he disregards that fact that Andrea is a kind, loving woman who isn’t quite sure how to deal with her feelings for the hot biker who traipses through her place of business with disdain written all over him. After a few less than stellar encounters, Liar and Andrea hook up...and then Liar’s big, stupid mouth almost ruins it. Luckily, they move forward and seem to be heading for something truly great until Liar completely misinterprets just how horribly Andrea is being used as a pawn in a game she didn’t even know was being played. Perceived betrayal on one part and true, gut-slicing betrayal on the other separate these two. And then the truth all comes crashing down, leaving the heartbreaker in the desperate situation of convincing the heartbroken that he’s worth the chance at reconciliation. All in all, Andrea and Liar truly deserve the HEA that they get and the journey to it was one full of humor, serious emotion, and some rash judgments that almost permanently derailed their shot at forever.
This book had it all, lies, twist, secrets, betrayal, and love! I cannot wait to go back and read the rest of the series, and the books still to come!

If you’re looking for some serious heat, heart-wrenching angst over an easily misunderstood situation and the men of Riot proving, once again, that they can truly man up when they’re wrong, this author won’t let you down!
I LOVE this series, and Karen Renee's writing, but my emotions were off the charts insane with this story. First of all, I'm still pissed off at Liar to be honest, and several members of the Riot MC. But I guess I should give a bit of background first. Andrea is old friends with President's old lady, so she's already known a bit to the MC, but Liar is given a task to pick up something at her business when he first lays eyes on her. He wants her, decides she's too uptight, and too good for him. Can you feel my eyes rolling here? So every time he sees her from here on, he treats her like he hates her, or that's what she believes. Finally, someone shows interest in her, it pisses him off, and he has to confront his attraction/interest, and she goes after him. They light the sheets on fire, and then he acts like a douche the next morning. I'm ready for her to kick his a** at this point, but she doesn't, and then they finally get on track. BAM! Big f-bomb twists show up, and he & his MC turn their backs on her, except a few. It keeps her from her friends, and puts her life in serious danger, so yeah, I'm still pissed off even after it's over. It will be interesting to see if Ms. Renee gets me to forgive them in future books or not! So anyway, as you can see, Calming the Riot definitely had me going crazy so deserved a 5 star rating for how far I was into the story! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Liar couldn't take his eyes off Andrea when she wasn't looking. He went to her massage studio to pick up a gift certificate as a favor to one of his MC brothers. He saw her wanted her but knew she was out of his league--and friends with his prez old lady. Hands off. Little did he know that Andrea saw him. Wanted him. Planned to have him. It had been a long time since she'd had a man in her life even just for sex. Time to fix that.
Liar kept his hands off until some of the brothers were looking a little too interested. When she made a move he moved right back. Things were going well. There were adjustments, still, they were compatible where it counted. Liar was dealing with some family losses. Andrea was helping out former co-workers at a poker tournament. She was hesitant as she'd been troubled by a stalker the last time she worked there. Promised security she agreed. The co-workers were NOT friends. They were part of a plot to get back at the MC.
Would the club enemy succeed in separating the couple? Without their extra support would she be safe?
I enjoyed the story. Liked the characters. There is plenty of steam. I would have preferred more effort at the end of the story from Liar but the reader will have to make their own minds up about that--no spoilers.
This is part of a series, and for it to flow correctly or even to understand the past happenings that get mentioned, you should read this in order. Liar finally gets his patch and while doing a favor ends up meeting Andrea, a masseuse. Upon their first meeting Liar feels the sparks, but he knows that he should keep his distance, as he is not good enough for her. Andrea also feels the pull and when she finds out that Liar feels that way she lays it down and explains that he is not the boss of her and does not have the right to make that assumption. So after that the two become an item... until Liar calls it quits. Will Liar come to his senses and realize that Andrea is the best thing to ever happen to him?
Ok, so, this book was going so freaking good, I wasn't minding the filler or the little things that normally bother me and was really enjoying this read and then BAM it went off the rails and crashed. So this went from on its way to being my fav of the series to "are you freaking kidding me". I can't even go into what p*ssed me off so badly for fear of spoiling. I give this 3.5 stars, but I am really looking forward to the next in this series, just sad that Andrea was a let down.
I absolutely loved this book!! Karen Renee has done it again, Calming the Riot is book #4 in her Riot MC series!! It can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading the series in order as there is backstory going through all the books!! This is Liar and Andrea's story and WOW what a story it is!! From the moment they meet you can feel the chemistry between them, they definitely fall in lust at first sight!! Liar is just newly patched into the brotherhood and he takes it very seriously. Andrea is strong willed and knows her own mind she is not one of those meek girls that get rolled right over by a man!! I don't want to give anything away as I believe you need to read the book for yourself!! I will say that they both have past issues that they need to deal with get over and when the past rears it's udly head like it always does they will have to fight to survive the fall out and find away to stay together!! This book and entire series is well written with great storylines and fantastic characters!! There is action, suspense, chemistry, love and some seriously HOT sex scenes!! I highly recommend this book and entire series you will not be disappointed!! I can't wait for the next book in this amazing MC series!!
The story has laughs, pain, betrayal, secrets, and heartbreak.
If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first Unforeseen Riot (Riot MC, #1) Inciting a Riot (Riot MC, #2) Into the Riot (Riot MC #3)
This is Andrea and Liar’s story. Lair is part of the MC and loyal to his brothers. Andrea is off limits but that does not stop these two from falling. But both have secrets. When secrets are revealed will it hurt or help them form a tighter bond? What happens when you think you are betrayed and act accordingly only to find out it just was not true? Will you be able to get back to before that hurt happened or will the one you want be lost forever?
I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
I have loved all of Karen Renee’s books! I will admit I wasn’t super excited for this story. Jim was a character I hadn’t really connected with in the past books, but I ended up loving him so much! Jim, now Liar since he got his patch, was a little insecure and couldn’t believe someone like andi would have feelings for him. I found that super endearing. I also loved that he was still an alpha. Even better was Andrea! Her smart-ass attitude was perfection! She wasn’t about to let a hot alpha biker tell her what to do! The scene when they finally hook up was a favorite. I was laughing out loud when they had the argument about WD-40. 😂 An overall fantastic story with all my favorite things: hot alpha biker, strong woman, a little suspense and a lot of heart!
I also fell super hard for Roll in the book and can not wait for his and Trixie’s story!
Liar is a member of the Riot MC who meets Andrea while visiting her masseuse business as a favor to the Club. He is very attracted to her but not only feels she deserves better than him, but she is also a friend of the President’s old lady. This is a line he doesn’t want to cross until he sees his MC brothers are interested in her and knows he needs to make his move or one of them will.
Andrea is a woman with a big heart who always wants to help others. Shas been attracted to Liar since their first meeting but when he questions if she can be trusted will he realize the truth before it is too late?
There is no doubting the chemistry and connection between them but they must work through some drama and angst to have their happy ever after.
This is the fourth book in this awesome series, and is Liar and Andrea’s turn. In my opinion, this series needs to be read in order and there is a background story which carries to each novel. Liar is a newly initiated patched member, and while doing a favour he meets Andrea, who is a masseuse. The chemistry between these two is sizzling, but Liar knows she is off-limits. No spoilers; this is a definite must read, you will not be disappointed. This is a well written story which had me totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I cannot wait to read more form this talented author, whose work I recommend for all MC lovers.
Liar loves his club and when he meets Andrea, things get strange. He won’t allow himself to love her. Andrea wants Liar but he just won’t give in. These two have an awesome chemistry together. No spoilers, this one is a must read. Excellent writing.
~~~~~~~~~~Tracy's ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review~~~~~~~~~~
Jim "Liar" would do anything for the Riot MC and his brothers when he does a favor for a brother would lead him to Ashley. Ashley is pulled into drama that she doesn't expect and loses the one man she loves. Great read and a great continuation of this series. Amazing book!!!
Liar is a biker who had to work hard to win me over. In typical alpha biker fashion, he laid down the law right from the beginning—and I kinda wanted to smack him. BUT he, of course, redeems himself when he realizes he’s wrong about a few things.
Andi is not what you’d expect of a biker babe with her earth-loving hippie ways (I love her.) She and Liar are an unlikely but well-matched pair, and the author does a great job of bringing them together.
This is a new author to me therefore I have not read the other books in this series and I kind of wish that I had before reading the fourth of the series. Liar is now a patched member and while doing a club errand he meets Andrea who is a masseuse. When Liar meets her he knows she is out of his league but that doesn’t make a difference to them. He’s a real A-hole to Andrea throughout and what made me mad was she just brushes it off and doesn’t make him grovel more to earn her forgiveness. Liar betrayed Andi and the relationship is so one-sided it made me hurt for her. I do recommend reading the books in order for the back story but overall this is a fantastic book.
This book starts out amazing! Great character growth. The author is finally starting to get her groove with leaving out pages of useless info. Then you get almost to the end where it looks like this one might need a cliffhanger or at the very least a to be continued into the next book for the HEA to happen. Nope every thing is all forgiven and worked out but not worked out in two pages. Every time an author does this it just kills a book for me.
3 1/2* Jim/ Liar meets Andrea when he’s tasked with doing a favour for the mc club. Andrea is a masseuse but when the pretty boy comes into her business to check it out she checks him out. He thinks she’s to good for him but when an incident throws them together he becomes protective of her. I loved the interaction with other mc members from past books and cannot wait for Trixie & Rolls book. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book
So this is liars book and he is interested in andi she does massages and owns a business. She is good. he and her are perfect fit but there are some stuff going on that he is being a jerk about and it breaks her heart the things he said. He tries his best to forget her but nothing changes the way he feels about her. Will they resolve their issues will he get the stick out of his u know what I wanted to take a hold of liar and beat him up. Loved this series and I cant wait for more.
While I love all the riot books and their couples, I felt that Andrea forgives Liar way too easily. She should have made him grovel! She was treated like crap by all the Riot MC and just forgave them. That was so weak for this strong heroine. Seemed out of character. Other than that great book solid 3.5 stars. Would have been 4-5 if she had made him grovel for being an a@@.
This was an interesting couple and story. I loved when Andrea decided to let herself experience life, although her past came after her. Liar had his trust issues which almost destroyed the two of them. The ups and downs of their relationship made this story worth reading, all leading up to love winning out.
I received a copy of this story through Enticing Journey Book Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.
Book 4 in the Riot MC series is just as good as the first three. Jim “Liar” Huntley has just earned his patch but has one last mission to complete just for the heck of it, he needs to pick up a gift certificate for a message. As the newest member, he was expecting to still get razzed by his brothers, but he wasn’t expecting Andrea Paglia.
All I can say is if I was Andrea, I would not have been so forgiving, Liar and the rest would have had a lot of groveling to do. 4.5 stars
Liar was a decent guy to Andrea and others especially since he got his patch. He didn't give Andrea a chance to explain how she didn't know Levanthon. He was nasty to her calling her a liar and refused to hear her side of the story. Volt the MC president did the same thing to her. Andrea also forgave them all too quickly I thought. Was a good book four except for that.
I liked this one, liked how Andrea fit in with the group. Heck even things with Liar was good. It wasn't til the end that drama came in. I hated that Liar didn't stop to listen to Andrea, to really hear what was going on and not stomping away like a petulant child. It was a good thing that a couple of the Riot brothers were willing to listen because Andrea needed help. Liar did manage to get back into Andrea's good graces in a great way!
