Mr. Fake Fiance

Rate this book
Did McHottie just ask me to fake an engagement?
You would think I would say no.
You would think I wouldn't move in with a complete stranger.
You would think I wouldn't give that stranger my virginity.

Most days I'm a pillar of restraint.
But some gravitational pull made both of us complete idiots for each other.
Now we're knee deep in scandal.
And this arrangement is getting more dangerous by the minute.

60 days to convince myself it's only fake.
Two months before I never feel his touch again.
One chance to tell him about my secret.

Stephannie 5 Star Review:

Braden and Joy have a past that has made them not believe in love because it will always end with pain. So falling for each other is out of the question. Branden comes up with the idea of a fake engagement that would benefit each of them in different ways. Braden needs to prove that he is in love with someone in order to get the financial backing needed for his matchmaking app. Joy has a mother who is guilting her into feeling that she must stay with her mom give up her dreams and take care of her mom financially because Joy's mom was a single mom and gave up a lot for her so they could survive. So now its time for her to return the favor. So Joy needs money to be able to move out and pursue her dreams of dancing.

But the problem is the more time they spend together the more they start to feel for each other despite their best efforts; not to have any feelings for each other.

This is my first book by this author and I really did love it. I loved the characters Braden and Joy are great together. I love them both. I was hooked very quickly and read it from cover to cover. I felt their chemistry and wanted their fake engagement to be real. But Braden is so stubborn, can he find it in himself to admit how he feels? When you close yourself off to love what does it take to finally admit you feel it? Joy thinks Braden couldn't possibly have feelings for her, she makes a decide that could change everything. Will Braden be too late? I think this book is a great read that anyone would love. I recommend you read this book. One click it today!

I am going into this review with minimal spoilers. This is my first review and book read for Aubrey Wright, but it won’t be my last. I went into the book with no expectations because I had never any of her previous works. What I liked about the story was that you can feel the depth and emotion and connection between the characters. You not only witness their inner struggles but also their growths. And somehow you find yourself drawn into the pages that the book ends as fast as it began.

Now directly onto the characters:

Joy, at the beginning, for all intents and purposes I am sure, is a down on her luck and somewhat a doormat to her mom. I understand the woman gave birth to her and helped her but at what do you put your own wants and needs in-front of your own child’s? I am not sure if that was intentional or what. But she wasn’t all that likable. Annoying and lazy. Anyhow, she finds herself in a particular situation that will help with her home problems, as time passes, her eyes start opening.

Braden is a mans’ man. He’s the guy women want. Good looking, funny and of course rich. But that’s just the surface that people see. Don’t get me wrong, his actions on some of the situations were questionable. Like I said you get to see his growth in the novel. He goes from being self serving to caring.

Definitely a must read if you enjoy the fake fiance trope. But an overall good book.

Joy wants a career in dancing but she lives with a controlling mother that doesn't want her to reach her dreams. Braden is a love matchmaker and he is starting a new app and needs an investor. The investor he has in mind wants him married and committed before he'll hand over any capital. When Braden sees Joy the first time he knows that she's perfect for what he's planning. He wants a fake fiancé to parade around his investor. Joy agrees to hi offer only after another fight with her mother. Things between Braden and Joy was supposed to be platonic but its not long before things heat up between them. However what will Braden do when someone from his past poses a threat to his future? Will they see that their arrangement is already a real relationship?

This is a great story that'll captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend it to any book lover.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.

Could have been good

This is a hard book to review. The storyline was good. Some of the characters, no Joy and her Mother, mostly her Mother are a piece of work. What a manipulative, self serving female dog. She is the type of woman you have to hate. Fifty years old and not wanting to work anymore so her daughter could take care of her. What a tool.

The book definitely needed editing. The last paragraph in this review, the author couldn't even remember her main characters name. As far as recommending, I don't know fellow readers. Read the book in your reviews tell us what you think k of Terry.

Listening to Joy say this crap over and over made me put the book down numerous times and say screw it.
“You’re not beholden to your mom, Jay. That’s not how it works. Parents are supposed to help you, not the other way around.” “That’s easy for you to say. You had a whole family, OK? I had her and only her.”

Mr Fake Fiancé is a book that I would add to my virtual bookshelf under the genre of of Fake Fiancés. Some of these in this categories take themselves real seriously and they are funny for all the wrong reasons. This one is a fun read because the author gives us a couple of over the top characters - Braden’s investor, Liam and Joy’s mom, Terry. The main characters, Braden and Joy are damaged and enter into this partnership to achieve their own goals. However a Liam, Terry, and yes, a stalker intervene.
I liked this story, which I didn’t think would be anything special, but I did find it engaging. The author shows, once again, great skill at character development so I’m definitely recommending this book for your reading enjoyment and pleasure.
I am leaving this review for your consideration. Peace.

This is a sweet tale of two people, who don’t believe in love, falling for each other despite their best efforts not to!
Braden and Joy agree to a mutually beneficial fake engagement, with both of them certain in the knowledge that they absolutely will not fall in love with each other. As they spend more time together however, those pesky feelings start to develop.
This is my first book by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Characters are well developed, the timeline is realistic and there are issues raised that are relatable and cause enough drama to keep the reader hooked. The sexy times are hot but not over the top, the happy ending well deserved and the epilogue heartwarming. I highly recommend this book.

The Cost of Love!
March 24, 2019
Format: Kindle Edition
It can be hard to allow yourself to commit to love when the last time you did your whole world collapsed. This was what had happened to Bradon after his wife and unborn child died in a car accident. Instead he made it his life's work to match couples with their perfect match, never allowing himself to feel love again, it just hurt too much. He never expected to fall in love again and when he meets Joy he believes that it is just a passing attraction and nothing more. This was an amusing story full of mistaken beliefs and troubled pasts that combine to form this story of a fake engagement and future filled with love and children.
I received a free ARC copy of this book and have voluntarily read and honestly reviewed this book.

Sometimes you are in the mood for a fun romance that’s light and happy. That’s certainly what you get with Aubrey Wright’s Mr. Fake Fiance. It’s leading lady,Joy, is a true angel, and her guy Braden is not far off. This is just a really well written and fun story. If that’s what you’re in the mood for it’s perfection. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend.

I liked this book, but it seemed to have too many things that I couldn't get past and it seemed too much like a precious book I read from the author. Dont get me wrong, I love the fake fiance aspect, but I want complete differences with it too. I didnt like how Joy catered to her mom. She was supposed to be this strong person, up against all odds and following her dreams, but the ridiculous amount of manipulation she allowed was tiring. I liked Braeden's character, but talk about a complete shut down, lol. The addition of Jessica was a good touch; I can read about psychos any time.

A phenomenal love story for every romantic heart out there!
The author created such warm, genuine characters that after awhile you they become as real as you and me! Joy and Braden agree to pretend to be together for various reasons but in the end reality sets in and difficult choices must be made. But once they face what the truth is, everything else falls into place.

This Fake Fiance Romance is well-written with steam, intrigue, suspense and relatable main characters who are determined to be or already are successful. These main characters come together at an opportune time for each of them, although for different reasons and after pretending could their feelings be real? I liked this entertaining read. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.

This is the second book I’ve read by Aubrey Wright and I all I have to say is I didn’t love this book but I didn’t hate it either. At times I felt like Joy could have had more of a back bone when it came to her mother and she should have just told Braden (from the get go) about how she truly felt about him, instead of going back and forth.

Braden and Joy’s story was definitely something else and some parts were sad, some happy but overall not bad.

Braden and Joy don't believe in love. They both think they will never find the "One" that will make you lose your mind, change the way you look at life and complete the piece of you that might be missing. When he asks her to be his fiancé, will she accept?? Will she give him everything she has never given another man? What will they do if they actually start feeling something for each other?? Well if you want those answers, you have to read the book. Enjoy.

My first book from this author and it was ok. My beloved 'fake dating' kept me interested but there was definitely room for improvement in this story between matchmaker Braden and wannabe dancer Joy.
Her manipulative mother pissed me the hell off and the whole premise of why they were faking it was a little stupid and highly unlikely. Stalker drama.. meh.
Didn't love this, didn't hate it either. Will try another from this author at some point.

Love

I enjoyed the ups and downs, as well as the usual hang ups and fears of relationships. It was pretty amazing to see a matchmaker finding his match. The whole fake fiancé thing was absurd but at the same time amusing because to me, they were just two people who had been burned in the past and wary of the future. I enjoyed the action and crazy element put in. That was...wow! Crazy! I liked the ending. I found that really amusing and sweet.

I loved this book, I started it today and finished it in less than 12 hours. I don't know how much I loved this book, it is definitely one of my favorites. I love how they describe the Main character Brendan and how he is slowly falling in love with joy. Even though I hate him when he leaves her, they love that they always find their way back to each other at the end. I 100% recommend this book and it is a must read.

Loved!

I could not put this book down once I started it!! Brendan was intense, he didn’t seem to want to give into his feelings and kept denying himself the truth. I loved Joy. She seemed to have a lot of stress on her with her mom and how overbearing he mother was. I love the outcome
Of this story! This book was hot hot hot. Can’t wait to read more from Aubrey!

great fake fiance romance!! Braden is the "Love Dr" in need of a fiancee and Joy need to escape her overbearing mother. It may not be her smartest move, but she can't resist. This is a great story about two people who have given up on love and the drama filled journey they take to finally get their HEA!

What great and sweet story. It has this I don’t want to be here and bam I can’t help but think of you vibe. It is extremely well written and the characters are beautifully developed. The story has drama and some suspense with a few twists and turns. It draws you in and doesn’t let go until you reach the end. This is definitely worth reading and doesn’t disappoint.

Great story. Emotions, excitement, suspense, surprises and so much more. They each have baggage and need something from each other. More so him than her. But what starts out simple to them becomes more complicated when feelings get involved. I recommend it. I voluntarily review a copy of this.

Quick enjoyable read.

This was a good HEA read, a great pick me up in between the emotionally devastating books I seem to be stuck on. The characters were easy to connect with and I enjoyed the story line. I liked how it has some drama but everything worked out in the end. Will definitely read more from this author.

Good Read

A tragedy leaves Braden not believing in love. He needs Joy to play his fake fiancée to close the most important business deal of his life. Things begin to snowball when two people who don’t believe start to catch feelings. I adore books with surprise pregnancies and HEAs.

Great read

This book is so sweet! These two are together in a fake engagement, but things start off being too real from minute one. Their feelings develop, but when the time comes, everything explodes and they’re knocked back to square one. Things work out and they get their HEA, even with the psycho lurking in the shadows.

Great read

The dialogue and situations that the characters found themselves in were more realistic than a lot of other fake fiance stories. I loved the interactions and even found myself wishing Joy's mother into another dimension. A really good story.
