Inheritance #2

In this Moment

Rate this book
Gracie Novak has always been the good girl.
Born and raised with a silver spoon in her mouth,
She has made an art out of veiling her words and
playing her role to survive the elitist attitudes of the affluent people who surround her.
But when a night of celebration ends in disaster and heartache,
Gracie realises that the facade that had once protected her has now become her prison.
Finally breaking free from her self-imposed shackles, she catches the attention of five of London’s hottest bachelors.
It isn’t long before temperatures soar and passions flare out of control, leaving Gracie with the knowledge of just how good being bad feels.
But as things begin to heat up, an enemy hell-bent on revenge waits in the wings, bringing chaos and tragedy to Gracie’s once ordered world and sparking off a chain of events that has deadly consequences.
A good girl shouldn’t play with fire,
Especially when someone wants nothing more than to watch her burn.

Authors note; In this moment is an unconventional love story about Gracie and the men who love her. This book contains adult language and sexual themes that are not suitable for anyone under the age of eighteen.

I don't like reverse harem books and after reading 5 RH books by Candice Wright, I never want to read another one. I think it's impossible and ridiculous that 5 guys would all fall into insta-love with one woman. And not mere average Joes, but 5 hot, tall, rich guys with huge 🍆

Furthermore, I'm tired of reading about horrible mothers which is another plot device that's been overused by Wright. Why can't her stories have characters who had normal childhoods where children weren't raped and mothers aren't wicked?

Sooo... this book reminded me a little of Cinderella, with the small twist in the story. I found quite interesting the consent of Dante's and I actually liked the levels and how creative it was.
Gracie's story was quite sweet and steamy, there are some unexpected twists and some more predictable turns but overall it was really enjoyable.

A lot happens and it does so quickly but it still worked for me. I would have liked for it to be a bit longer so it was more relatable though. I was worried it would be a bit too "insta" love for me but it wasn't. I loved Gracie and her guys as well as the cameos from previous characters. Really nice story.

Fantastic read!...As a woman who has grown up with a wicked stepmother, Gracie finally finds her HEA with all the princes she could dream of. With twists and turns, races and games, all levels of Hell, this story will pull at all the emotional strings you have. Steam 10/10 * Sweet 10/10 * 1st POV * RH * HEA

Amazing book! I have to be honest, this story is emotional. I cried a few times reading this book. The storyline with the plots and twists make you feel like you're experiencing the emotions along with the characters. Definitely a must read!

*I was given an advance copy of this from the author for a honest review.*

This book had me in a whirlwind of emotions, I laughed, teared a bit, got angry for what Gracie had to go through, and finally I was filled with happiness when Gracie and the guys got their happy ending. C.M. did a fantastic job with this book, each character had their own personality so nobody blended together, even the supporting characters were easy to remember. I loved Gracie! She was sassy and so kick ass, the way I love my heroines <3 And each of the guys were so sweet and protective of her.

Jackson with his grumpy self who was wary of Gracie in the beginning but then she broke through his walls. Kane who was all in from the beginning he met her. Ryder and his goofy self and cheeky ass. Carter and Callum who were both so sweet and adorable. I loved how the guys didn't sleep around and knew that they wanted something permanent between them all. They found that connection with Gracie and they were all in. I'm looking forward to this author's next release!

This book was amazingly awesome, I was gripped from the first chapter and couldn’t put it down! The beautiful emotions that pour from the characters and straight off the pages of this story are truly captivating and brilliant. This book had me crying from the characters losses to laughing out loud because of their antics then joining in with their anger towards the villains. I really couldn’t recommend this book enough, it was so different from books I’ve read before which makes it that much more appealing. Following the characters love story is an emotional rollercoaster you’ll never want to get off, it’s passionate, romantic and totally swoon worthy. Five stars times a million from me C.M Wright tells such epic stories I cannot wait for the next adventure!

Enjoyable Contemporary Reverse Harem

I enjoyed this book a lot. There was plenty of angst, sexy times and fun.

This second book in the series was less dark than the first Inheritance Novel, but it definitely still had it’s shadowy areas. There was lots of murder and mayhem, along with 5 gorgeous guys falling for Gracie, extremely quickly.

It had a complex plot to keep your brain happy, interesting characters to give you the warm and fuzzies and hot sex to make you melt.

Definitely worth a read.

Loved it, great writting, good characters

I got hooked at the first page! Going through bad stuff when you're young and don't understand, then going through as an adult is so much more devastating.
I would've fallen hard for Jackson, the look, his way of living , he's just misunderstood.
Love the fairytale reference
Love how open Gracie's mind is (& her friends) for loving multiple guys

I was really atteacted to the story in this but like the first book in this series, my overall impression was meh.

Which is a shame because I think if this plotline (minus the crazy fiance/mom nonsense, just the 'bad' sister stealing 'good' sister's fiancee I thought I was going to get) was given a trillogy or even just a duo, it could have been something spectacular.

I am fine with instalove, it has to be plausible and well written and in this it just happened entirely too fast. If the premise doesn't work everything falls apart and there is no logical reason a wealthy club owner goes out of his way to hand deliver a license of a woman he spoke too for a minute at most.

I get it was a plot device, but the author had easier, way more belieable options, such as whilst her sister and her sisters friends were focused on the strippers the FMC picks up her phone mistaking it for own and sees the fiances texts and stumbled out of the club, meeting the same character in a hallway and he helps her to the toilets. As a club owner, its in his best interest to see exactly why a female customer is obviously distraught.

That would be totally believeable and since it unfolded in their club, it would help sell readers the other guys taking the intial interest.

It didn't help that no-one really had well rounded personalites. There's always the same archtypes; the joker, the serious one. the protector ect but usually there's more to the character, but in this everyone is pretty one note.

The exception is the FMC and her character really swings wildly the other way with too much going on. First she quiet, shy and skittish seeming but then in a blink she morphs into a confident 'bad bitch' type who puts people in their place with shap words and well placed punches. There was no discovering herself, personal growth arc, it just happened. Then she's a romance writter, billionare heiress who is a master race car driver.

Mind that this is the same character who has allowed her step-mother and step-sister to be awful to her for years without ever fighting back, who stayed in an unfulfining relationship for years only to magically realize how awful it and he was once she met the guys.

By the time I finshed, I realized I wasn't just over the book I had zero desire to continue the series.

Wow. Another emotionally enticing book by C.M.! This is a RH that will make you laugh and cry. This book will make you feel bitter and angry but also happiness and excitement. This book will not bore you. There are sweet quiet moments and heart pounding adrenaline filled moments. The FMC Gracie has had an interesting life. She has a kind heart and just the right amount of sass. In the beginning one would be lead to believe that Gracie was happy and had everything she could ever need. Things quickly take a dark turn for her and a random act of kindness changes everything. The plot, story arc, background details all run smoothly together to make a comfortable read. C.M. has a knack when it comes to creating characters. The characters created for this book have a depth to them that isn’t easily done or always seen. The pace isn’t too fast or too slow. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this HEA book. C.M. Wright has quickly become one of my go to authors. I am so looking forward to what she writes next!

In This Moment is a steamy sexy RH. Don't let that pink cover fool you. There is a lot of passion in these pages, and a lot of heart too. Gracie Novak might be a girly girl, but she can handle everything these men throw at her. She can handle it when people decide they want what Gracie has. And she won't go down without a fight.

Our FMC knows heartache, and when she gets kicked down she doesn't stay there for long.

CM Wright does a bang-up job in her sophomore novel. It catches the same nuanced emotions of the first but in a new way. I would LOVE to visit the club this book centers around. With 7 levels of decadence, you can't help but wish it was real. And speaking of decadence, these men are hot, broody, funny, and sweet...you're sure to find a new book boyfriend to love.
If racing and steamy men are your cups of tea, you will love this novel. If you're not usually a fan of contemporary you'll have to give this a go, it might just change your mind.

I cannot wait to see what is sure to be a stunning conclusion in the Inheritance trilogy. Brava!

Oh my goodness I could not love this book enough! I couldn’t put it down from the moment I started! So much heartbreak leaves Gracie vulnerable, but the kindness and support shown to her by complete strangers is enough to give her strength.
After two years of celibacy with her fiancé she’s more excited for the wedding night than the wedding itself, but finds out his dirty secret and calls off the wedding a week before.
Kane shows up, showing such support and kindness, and provides just the distraction she needs when he takes her out for breakfast & she meets his friends who just so happen to be the hottest things known to mankind!
This book is hot hot hot! Full of lust, sexual tension, plot twists and heart wrenching scenes. Just when you think Gracie can’t take any more, something else hits! But with each hit she has her men there putting her pieces back together again.
I definitely recommend this book!

No one does Reverse Harem like Candice Wright, and this story here is all the proof you will need. It’s a bit of a slow burn for Candice, but don’t you fret because it will get hot and then it will get hotter. I know I am never going to look at chocolate ice cream the same again!😏

This is the story of Gracie and her five men, that’s right I said FIVE!! Gracie thought she had everything figured out until one night with her stepsister’s forgotten cell phone. What happens after that is just too insane but that makes this even better.

Candice writes such great books to escape with, you can always count on the heat factor, but this one also has a lot of emotion that we don’t always see, and I for one am here for it.

This is book two of the Inheritance Series, but they are all standalones so you don’t necessarily need to read them in order, but they are pretty quick reads so why wouldn’t you?? Go get this one, pour yourself a drink and enjoy the ride!

I was lucky enough to receive an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book is a perfect mix of drama, love and lust, with a healthy dose of humour and sass. I loved the interplay between Gracie & her men and the way she inspired loyalty from other people around her. And how good is it to read about a woman who is wealthy in her own right, but without haughtiness.
Her men are wonderfully written, providing Gracie with support and protection through her tragedies, but also with a great sense of mischief.
The main villains of the book are shown to be truly vile and there is quite a shocking scene towards the end.
All in all, this is an excellent book. When it comes out on March 7th, I for one will definitely be buying it to re-read it in the future.

I have been privileged enough to receive an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I don’t often cry while reading but this book has all the feels. I would recommend having a tissue box handy.

I really enjoyed how the main character is wealthy in her own right and yet has remained very down to earth and practical. I’m also impressed with how you are introduced to the main characters vulnerability and how the men in her life work together to support her but never undermine her.

I really liked the witty dialogue between her and her men and that they truly supported each other through all the tragic and dramatic events in the book.

My only drawback is that I would have liked it to be longer. You should definitely read this book.

A good story.

This story totally sucked me in. I was a bit skeptical, since I had a hard time with the author's first book as it was so busy and had a lot of repeated words. However, I was not disappointed this time. The author gives enough of the back story so you can follow along and enjoy where the characters are at, so that you can really love and enjoy them. The plot is set really well and doesn't have many holes, there were a few unexplained time jumps and I had to go back and read the last few paragraphs, but overall not a big issue. This story is filled with emotion, snark, and action. I can't wait to see where this author goes and to be able to watch her grow. She's definitely got talent!

It wasn’t something I found believable or real life wise, though it turned out to be entertaining, if overly sad.
I quite liked the fact we had the twist of Grace being a billionaire rather than the men.
But I just didn’t feel the romance between these six characters. Too short a time frame with not enough interaction between them as couples or as a group.
I will say if this had just that bit more depth, this would have been a fun and entertaining read.
Though we do get background on everyone, I didn’t feel any connection to them as a reader, and didn’t believe their insta love scenario.
The twisted ending and how it unravelled was good.
Read through KU. But I am positive I’ve read this somewhere before, the racing part especially was a memory to me.

This book had me from the get go. CM Wright once again proves what an amazing writer she is. She’ll get you laughing and crying on the same sentence. And then laughing some more. I loved the dynamics between the characters. I loved the idea of the club, seriously, the thought put on it and the entire concept is freaking amazing.
I’m in love with the characters, I kind of want to steal them to myself. And the entire thing is just so very hot and lovely.
Be prepared for those feels, because they will get you. Once you pick up this book, you won’t put it down until it’s over and then you’ll want to immediately start it back again. This is one ride worth taking.

This a journey to find one's self, and the strength with in. You have great characters, adventure, actions, and steamy. The best part of this story is you get to watch love bloom and a bond that will be unbreakable. There are a couple of triggers, but written so that they don't take away from the enjoyment of the story. This is one of the best written books, and one of my favorite ones. This story flows so well that you wont want to put it down. A must for every TBR list. Hope you enjoy as much as I did.

Great short and sweet RH

My first read by Candice Wright and I was pleasantly surprised. I've read a good amount of RH and this book had a unique pace to the developing relationships which I appreciated. The steamy parts were more as garnishments than what their relationship solely was based on.

Her being a RH romance writer was a bit trite, but otherwise Gracie was a great character. And her men were great too. For a relatively short book it was very efficiently written so you still get a lot of content.

I look forward to reading more by this author.

The Greatest Treasure

Guard your heart well and only give it to someone who has earned it. Unfortunately, you will encounter people who will make your heart swell, but also do nothing more than leave it bruised. Every story has a villain, and you will have to be strong enough to weather any storm. The one who deserves you? Well, he'll fight for you and cherish your heart like it's the greatest treasure in the world. All you have to do is hold on tight and love them back just as fiercely.

For me, it's incredibly rare to find a book that you absolutely can't put down. This book had everything I look for in a RH novel- the plot was great, the background details covered so that you are able to immerse yourself in the story, and of course sexy men. This is one of my new favorite novels, and I can't wait to wait a while and then be able to reread it and live through all the drama and love again. This is one of those amazing happily ever after books as well!

When I read Rewriting Yesterday, I knew C.M. Wright was a good author, but In This Moment she out did herself. This book had me crying, laughing out loud and had me biting my nails in suspense. It is beautifully written. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves to read! Just keep in mind that its a RH....if you're in to these types of books. Even of you aren't, you will be after this one! I give it 5 stars but would give it so much more if I could!

Well this is a really good read. You laugh, you cry, you laugh some more. You watch as they grow and become a family. This is the prefect second book. A deffinent for the TBR list. I am now waiting for book three to see what everyone gets into next. Very well told, You just wont believe what some will do and what they want ro do. It took my about 8 hours, and the only thing I can say, the only way to make this better. Well to make it longer. Love this book.

I love this book so much! All the stars! The first book by this author blew me away so I had high expectations, and she just blew me away again! This contemporary reverse harem romance is one that you can reread any time. There were scenes that completely blew my mind. I loved seeing some characters from the first book make an appearance in this one, although this can still be read as a standalone. I always love revisiting old beloved characters. I cannot wait for the next book!
