Anne-Marie Meyer is a USA Today Bestselling author who lives south of the Twin Cities in MN. She spends her days with her knight in shining armor, four princes, and a baby princess.
When she's not running after her kids, she's dreaming up romantic stories. She loves to take her favorite moments in the books and movies she loves and tries to figure out a way to make them new and fresh.
Second chances are the best, especially when they come in the form of love. This one takes a little twist, as Danielle wasn't involved directly with Zach in the past, but their paths have now intertwined.
There is a lot of inner turmoil with this story, as Danielle has a big secret that she doesn't want exposed. She resists Zach's efforts at friendship, help, and more at every turn, which is understandable, yet frustrating. There are a few gaps here and there, but the epilogue ties it all up nicely.
I did enjoy seeing how things unfolded, especially regarding the secret, and the true character of Zach is manifested throughout. He has every reason to be conceited, but he's not and that's what really makes him likable. He's selfless and kind, and it's not a show.
These are fun characters and if you love new beginnings and sports, you'll love this one.
Content: mild romance

I loved this second chance story! This is a trope that is one of my favorites and I could read over and over again.
Anne-Marie Meyer did a great job with these characters and their history together. Without spoiling anything...Danielle has been assigned to do a story on Zach, she's not sure how it will work out because of the history between them and family members.
And when I saw history between them, it's complicated. There is hurt and loss and sorrow and a couple secrets. Danielle doesn't know if she can allow Zach to become a part of her life again. She's torn. Doing an in-depth interview with Zach will be great for her work but the personal implications are making it a tough decision.
Can I just say that I laughed out loud so many times while reading this. The scene where her faucet is having issues and the mixup with the landlord's message. Hahahahaha! Yes, I laughed hard at that one. You'll have to read it to understand. But just know that there were several such moments.
The chemistry between Danielle and Zach was sizzling. These two work so well together, if only they could figure out life and really make it all work together.
All you fans who love football stories with clean romance, humor and fun characters, this is one I'd recommend reading. I haven't read the other books in the series but I've heard good things about them as well.
Content: Clean. Some kissing, no sex or language.
I received a copy from the author. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.
Talk about a complicated past in a second chance romance. A single mother with a secret. A big shot football player. I'm not much for sports romances often, but this one was worth the read.
Ms. Meyer gets you invested in the characters early and doesn't let you go. Be prepared to enjoy a sweet read of emotional depth, twists, and satisfying kisses.
No football background necessary. The real action is off the field.
This is a sweet and clean second chance romance with a football player.
Zach Stedman played offensive lineman for the Georgia Patriots and had made quite a name for himself. He had plenty of women throwing themselves at him on a regular basis, but there was only ever one woman for him but she had been his brother's girlfriend, Danielle. Unfortunately, when Isaac died, Danielle left, too, but not before Zach had kissed her and she had kissed him back. No other woman could take the place in his heart that had been left by Danielle when she disappeared.
Danielle was a sports reporter and was assigned Zach Stedman to complete an expose' on. He was the last person in the world that she wanted to see. She had a secret that she had been keeping from Zach and his family after Isaac's death and she couldn't let him get to close. It could destroy everything she had worked so hard to achieve in the past eight years. But, there had been something between she and Zach the last time they had seen each other. Was it possible that there could be a chance for them? Would she be willing to take the risk?
I enjoyed this book because it was a quick read with a happy ending. There was no foul language or sex, just a sweet second chance romance. I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest opinion.
I liked this romantic, second chance love story built around secrets and a death. I enjoyed the one step forward and two steps backwards for NFL player, Zach Stedman when he reunites eight years later with Danielle Danaher, his brother's ex-girlfriend. Danielle is a single mom who has a son named Jesse. Jesse's father died in an accident before he was born. Danielle has been assigned to do an expose on Zach Stedmen. If only she can fight her feelings for Zach and keep her secret safe from him. I liked that the author pulled me right into the story from the start and had me intrigued to find out what happened eight years ago. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
This story had a lot of potential, but I don't feel like it made it. I enjoyed the story of Zach and Danielle and they are sweet together, but I felt the story jumped around a lot, didn't have smooth transitions and left a lot of questions unanswered. I don't know if it was a length requirement that caused this or what, but I feel like this story needed to be longer, it needed smoother transitions and I personally needed more info about Isaac and his parents relationship with Danielle. That was supposed to be the big conflict of this story, but we never find out why. I gave it 4* because it is a sweet clean romance that I'm sure others will love, but I needed more.
Absolutely loved Zach and Danielle ‘s love story . The book has romance , secrets , and so much more . I could not put the book down ! I bought it today , and then I shut out the rest of the world . Georgia was on my mind that is for sure . The chemistry between Zach and Danielle is present through out the book so do not let a clean romance make you think it is not . The writing was very smooth and it made me want to keep reading . I am now one of your number one fans . Can’t wait to read more books from this amazing author .
A sweet second chances romance, Zach and Danielle's story does keep one guessing as to how Danielle's secret will eventually come out. As much as Zach will do what it takes to win her over, Danielle is reluctant about becoming involved with him. There were a few gaps in the story and I felt that it did fizzle out a bit at the end, although the main points were covered in the epilogue, which in turn leads into the next book in the series. Nevertheless, this is a standalone and comes to a sweet ending. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
This is a second chance story to see if Zach can finally win the love of Danielle. Danielle was engaged to Zach’s brother and then Isaac died in an accident. After Isaac’s death, Zach kisses Dani and she runs. It’s now eight years later. Dani has been assigned to do an expose’ on Zach. Dani can’t get too close to Zach because she’s kept a secret from his family and him. I really enjoyed this fast read and I can’t to read Jonathan Braxton’s story, the best friend of Zach.
The Second Chance Patriot is about second chances. Zach and Danielle have a history from 8 years ago. Interesting story line of how they meet up again after all these years. Danielle's son, Jesse, and babysitter, Sunny, add to the story line. It kept me reading to see how and when Danielle's secret would come out to Zach. I would have like to have a little more background into the issue she had with Isaac and his parents. A clean read.
Two old friends reunite after eight years. Their friendship ended many years back when she was going with his Isaac. When Isaac died, his family turned against her. Now that she is back in town, and runs up into his Brother Zach; she needs to keep her distance as she has a huge secret. As their renewed relationship struggles; she fights to keep her son and Zach apart.
This is a fun, sweet read. The chemistry between Zane and Danielle was really good, the battle that Danielle faces with trying to protect herself and Jesse is a great contrast with Zane trying to win her heart and re-earning her trust. I am not a fan of football, but I really enjoyed this story. I received an advance copy of this book and happily chose to review it.
I really enjoyed this second-chance romance. I received this for free and I voluntarily chose to review it. I've given it a 4.5*. The heroine, a reporter, has a secret, that she has kept for 8 years. Her angst is because she can't bear to reveal it until it's taken out of her hands. This was a fast reading, short story.
About two people destined to be together. I loved that they bump into each other again and he fights for her. I love the babysitter & the chauffeur. I hope they each have a story. I love Jonathan a good friend he has his own story, too but I can't find it!!😪 this is a great series! I hope there are more.
Cute story. I liked the way the main characters got together.

I really loved this story. Zach and Danielle had an "interesting" past, and an explosive chemistry. Danielle was keeping a huge secret from Zach, and she was so worried it would ruin any possibility of them as a couple. I really enjoyed how strong Zach was when he knew that Danielle was "it" for him. I highly recommend this book.
The Second Chance Patriot was a clean, sweet, fun book. Zach and Danielle had great chemistry. The other characters were also vividly portrayed. This is sort of a second chance romance. There are several bumps in the road to an HEA. I thoroughly enjoyed this story.
Zack is on the winning side of the football team when he meets a blast from the last. His brothers girlfriend, although his brother passed away she is here where he plays but she is holding secrets. Danielle is back to do a job but with her heart etc in turmoil it may be more difficult than she thought. Will Danielle give up her secrets and tell Zach? Will they realise they are meant to be together? A great story that kept me on the edge of my seat. Great characters.
Loved the content of this book. Sunny and Jesse as the side characters were well written and made the story come alive. The kept the content alive. The main female character got a little tiring with her constant anxiety. Otherwise, great book.
Friends through high school; separated for many years; accidentally reunited; not happy about past memories. This is a heart breaking adventure with a very surprising ending worthy of the painful romance. I enjoyed!!
This was a super cute love story, friends who held feeling s for each other. This story is bit taboo bc the heroine was engaged to his brother, whom passed away. Years later they are back in each others lives. Will they finally get there HEA?
I enjoyed this series completly. However, I really wonder if you do any proofreading??? There were so many words left out or wrong words used (then for than), etc. Just an observation.
I accidentally read these books out of order. I couldn't believe my eyes! The history of their relationship and her child. Overcoming alot of bumps in the road lead them back on the path they were destined to be.
This book really should be read as the first book in the Braxton Brothers series and not the last.. A good book and loved the story. Happy that Stud doesn't give up.
