From the #1 fastest growing ministry on television, according to Neilsen ratings, Andrew Wommack brings readers an intelligent, scriptural message on living a consistent, stable, exciting Christian life.
Life for many Christians is like trying to fill a leaking vessel. They attend church, read their Bible, or perhaps they receive prayer and experience a healing. In those moments their heart is filled with the presence of God, but then, within a few days or weeks, they once again feel empty and sick. Whatever they received seems to have gradually leaked out.
Andrew Wommack, seen nationwide on his television broadcast, The Gospel Truth, shares that your life does not have to be a roller coaster of Christian highs and lows. God's desire is that His children move consistently from one level of relationship with Him to the next - never having to feel abandoned and alone.
Be encouraged and challenged by Andrew's remarkable teaching from Romans 1:21 showing four essentials to staying close to God: glorify God, be thankful, recognize the power of your imagination, and have a good heart. Begin to understand that the reason you might feel far away from God, Who is always stable and consistent, is because you have either consciously or unconsciously moved away from Him. He is a gentleman and will not violate your free will. But, if you will draw near to God in those four vital areas, your relationship with God will begin and continue to flourish.
Andrew began his ministry in 1972 and is the President and Founder of Andrew Wommack Ministries and Charis Bible College located in Colorado Springs. For four decades Andrew has been teaching the Word of God. His revelation is taught with clarity and simplicity, emphasizing God’s unconditional love and grace. His daily Gospel Truth radio and television programs are broadcast domestically and internationally.
He founded Charis Bible College in 1994 and has established 70+ extension colleges in major cities of America and around the world. Andrew has produced a library of teaching materials in print, audio, and visual formats.
Do you see your relationship with God full of highs and lows? Sometimes you feel completely filled with His presence; yet other times you feel very distant. In this book, Andrew Wommack gives four progressive steps on how to change your heart and “stay full of God."
Here is my long review: The first lesson from this book came from Romans 1:21. The verse explains how to draw away from God. By doing the opposite of what this verse says, we can stay full of God. Glorifying God, being thankful, and having a positive imagination allow your heart to become more sensitive to God.
The second, and more emphasized, lesson I got from this book was how to esteem God. Luke 14:26 says, by comparison, we must hate our family and our own lives compared to how much we care about Jesus. For God to be the biggest thing in our lives, we need to value God while DEVALUING EVERYTHING ELSE. This book reminded me of where my values should be, and it showed me how I was currently misplacing my values.
DO NOT fall apart like a $2 suitcase when everything in life goes bad. When I do fall apart like a $2 suitcase, it’s because my values are misplaced. It doesn’t matter the circumstances. Whether it’s death, loss of loved one, pain, job, or criticism, these are nothing but light affliction (2 Corinthians 4:17). I’d be happy to die. All possessions, family, friends, education, and achievements are of so little value compared to Christ (Philippians 3:7-8).
Lesson 2.5 from this book: Don’t give a rip. It is quite freeing when you DON’T GIVE A RIP about your own troubles.
This book gave me a positive attitude adjustment. It has a powerful message. Also, it takes effort to disesteem carnal matters; it takes effort and focus to remember and be thankful for the good things God has done. I haven’t arrived, but at least I’ve left. I’m glad I read this book. 👍🏻😃👍🏻
This book revolutionized my view on closeness to and intimacy with God. How really I am the factor, never God. He is always transmitting, I need to be made available to receive! So so so good! Here are some of my favorite quotes 👇🏼👇🏼
“As long as you are the center of your universe, you are always going to be upset when someone rubs you the wrong way. If you are all wrapped up in yourself, you make a very small package.”
“God’s love, joy, peace, healing, anointing, presence—or anything else—is there for you the same as the moment you experienced Him. God loves you the same now as He did then. In fact, He loves you more than you’ve ever yet perceived—ever! God isn’t the variable. You disesteemed God when you started esteeming someone or something else.”
“The reason things are so big to us is that God is so small to us.”
“Once you experience God’s kind of love, what the world calls “love” is just cheap in comparison.”
“Place more value on the Lord, what He’s said, and what He’s done in your life than anything or anyone else.”
“What you do doesn’t affect God’s heart towards you, but it will affect your heart towards Him.”
“We just catch the fish. It’s the Lord’s job to clean them. Be tolerant and loving—and let God work on their heart. The condition of your heart dictates how you act.”
SO GOOD. The amount of times I wrote “wow” in the margins of this book is uncountable😂. Just an amazing revelation!
The keys to staying mindful of God per Andrew Wommack are to first value God,be thankful, use our imagination in positive scenarios, remain sensitive to God. Worry throws weight and adds burden in our heart. Worry is like tossing gasoline on a fire it explodes and makes us focused on problems. Praise causes us to refocus on God's ableness and great love for us.being full of God makes us open to God's leading and abundance. This book is written so simply yet offers much to reflect upon.
No matter how much you know about God or think you do you need to read this book, no matter how long you’ve been saved, this book is a must read for all Christians
Andrew Womack has a rich heritage of following God and taking Him at His word. This book is an excellent resource for those who are frustrated by not being able to live and walk out their Christian life as well as they would like to. It’s practical and plain speaking. I love it!
An awesome book by Andrew. It is repititive at times, but Andrew is able to drive his point home. The second half is more specific than the first half.
It’s an easy to read and understand book. It’s simple but true. We don’t need a difficult way in order to stay in God’s presence. And I am sure when we are in God’s presence; we will be full of Him. Praying, praising and worshiping God is the way to communicate with Him. And I think anybody is able to do it. It’s so simple that somehow people don’t believe that this is works. But trust me; this simple thing could change your life.
There is some great wisdom in this book - about staying close and intimate with God, but Wommack repeats himself so much, I feel like the book could be half the size. All in all, though, I'm glad I read it. I know it will benefit my life.
