i think...the pseudo-hp theme was a bit of a stumbling block with this one. It wasn't precisely satire, possibly because that isn't really the author's style. And yet, it wasn't serious either. I'm not sure where one would place this. Silly but not in a good way? The idea promised to be amusing - the idea of a wolf getting knocked up following a one night stand with a big cat.
It was like the author was trying to follow the expected secret baby path in an hp, while shoehorning the whole true mate angle and the reality that a wolf female would have "fun" raising a cat, all tongue-in-cheek. So you get things like her nipples tightening when he shows up, then you get the dialog - mental and otherwise - that sometimes makes you wonder about the character's intelligence.
Well, I have one more by the author (not "howls" or "in the stars") so maybe I'll get a better feel for her.

The absent return
The author did a brilliant job of keeping with the Howls romance tradition with this book The secret baby really brings us closer to the characters in this story and how even the paranormal face real-life difficulties. I was a little disappointed in the mother at first, but I could understand her fears and reasoning. Regardless, I was so happy when the author led them to their HEA. I hope the author brings us more of this spinoff series, I really want to see what happens with Pax and Ari and the mate they are sure to share.

Loved it
This is a well written book with sweet romance and some steamy passion. The characters are vivid and alive and easy to fall in love with. Just a very enjoyable book

In this story with get two character a wolf shifter and jaguar shifter whom have one unforgettable night together then go on their way except Henry did not know that he got the woman he can’t keep out of his mind pregnant.
Tracy kept her secret for two long years not even telling her father who was her child’s dad. She raises her kid on her own in a few instances Tracy does seem a little selfish, because shockingly two years later the father of her baby pops back into her life and Henry is shocked to see he has a child and Tracy wants nothing from him.
The question also is are these two mates. Tracy does not believe it at all but Henry does and he wears his heart on his sleeve when first seeing his child he wants in her life once Tracy gets her emotions in check I start to like her character. She was a good mother don’t get me wrong but in some instances she does say she wants her baby to herself. This was my first time reading anything from this author and I liked this story I loved that there was no big drama and both clans excepted the little girl I especially liked Henry’s character. I think I will be reading more of these books. If you like shifter stories with a secret baby you will like this one.

I was happy to see another Howls Romance story was released. This one is about Hank, a jaguar, and Tracy, a wolf who had a one night stand resulting in a pregnancy. Fast forward almost three years and Hank comes back to town. What occurs as Hank first meet the precious Emma and how Hank tries to win Tracy over is a story worth reading. This book once again takes you to the jaguar private island where you touch base with characters from previous books and twin jaguars are introduced that will hopefully show up in a later book. I loved the characters and how they dealt with inter species mating and the differences between jaguar and wolf and pack vs. clan. Add a lot of steam to the mix and they can't help but have a HEA.

Heartwarming
Tracy and Hanks story was full of roadblocks and stubbornness. Once they each pulled their heads out, happiness was pretty much guaranteed.
Though I loved the story itself, I felt like a lot of the book was “in the characters head”. There was a lot of internal musing and thinking, overthinking and creating problems. Though that’s very true of how people think, it definitely caused my attention to wander at times. I still give the book 5 stars because I appreciate that the characters didn’t have insta-love, and how down to earth the whole thing was.

Jaguar' s Baby
When a wolf shifter finds her self pregnant by a jaguar shifter, her alpha father is upset because she will not tell him who the father is. Two years have now passed and Hank, the jaguar shifter, returns to Texas to see her, he is both shocked and elated to find out he is a father. When the toddler shifts into a jaguar kitten, all secrets are now out in the open. Now the hard part begins on what their feelings for each other are and where to live, either with the wolf pack or with the jaguar clan A well written and wonderful book.

Jaguar Island trilogy
Intriguing world of shifting felines and their families. Definitely makes me want to indulge in a lot more of this author's world. My favorite character is Emma. I hope to see more of her in future books.
Why take off a star of my rating? I would prefer to see more action and adventure in the stories, and I'm not talking about bedroom action. That level works well for me but more of the outside interactions would be nice, like there was in the Phoenix trilogy.

a good enough story... she's wolf shifter... he's jaguar shifter.. a one night stand resulted in her pregnacy... she waited for him to come back, he intended to come back...
3 years later, he finally comes back, fully realizes he is mated to her, and falls in love with his daughter...
they go to jaguar island (home/safe place for jaguar shifters)...
and all is good... home in Texas and home on island...

Babies
Babies have a tendency to make most stories better. This book has a decent story line, but the inclusion of Emma and the other jaguar children takes the story to another level.

Sweet!
I could feel the characters emotions as the story went on. Uncertainty, love, confusion, wonder, joy, etc. It pulled me into the story.

Sweet Book
Just wanted a little more action. The little one was almost the best part. I do like the series. Looking forward to the twins story

Had trouble with Tracy's attitude, no matter what or how often Hank spoke to her. Still an interesting story to add to the overall storyline of Jaguar's Island.
