Angel Dawson will die if she doesn’t find help.

After the loss of her father, all she has left are his camera and the will to survive. With starvation on the horizon, there’s one place that might make the difference between giving up and living, Cutter’s Creek. And though she hasn’t been back in ten years, she has memories there, good ones, of a boy named Fin.

Fin McGregor is known as the man who can fix any problem, as long as that problem is someone else’s. Unable to picture himself filling his father’s boots, he doesn’t want to take over the family farm. When the pretty Angel, a friend from his past, returns to Cutter’s Creek, he finds himself overcome with the need to hold her close and make her stay.

As keepsakes from the past begin to reveal the truth about her legacy, Angel will have to make a heartbreaking decision to determine what is more important, her father, or a keepsake of her own.

Another great sweet, inspirational read from Kari Trumbo.

Angel is going to die unless she finds work, so she heads back to Cutter's Creek, a town she hasn't been to in ten years. She runs into the little boy she met all those years ago, but he's a tall drink of water now, a full grown man who makes her feel safe. He also happens to be a man who has waited for her for ten years and now has to figure out how to get her to stay.

Ups and downs, emotions, inner turmoil...lots of good feels in this book. Ms. Trumbo does a good job of making you feel the tension/attraction between two people without being crude.

Well done!

I absolutely loved this book! I loved the emotional turmoil and the growth they both had to have with God, and people, so they could come together as husband and wife, whole and willing to row together! An absolutely beautiful story we can all learn from! Just Brilliant Kari!!

A story of finding oneself in order to love another!

Keepsake is another sweet western romance in the Cutter’s Creek series. This is a story that shows a person can be lost and not know their way. Yet on the path to finding their self, they learn what love is especially when the right person has been there all along. Among all the hardships that Angel has to face, she learns that her father loved her but was not the person that she knew. She learns that she has family in several places that she did not know about. Family that can teach her to love, live and how to be the woman that she is meant to be.

A pleasantly written story with romance and a happy-ending that we all have come to expect. As I have come to expect with the books in this series, I had a hard time putting down as it was a one-of-a-kind and captivating story. I couldn’t get to the end fast enough to see if love would win out or if Angel was going to let her past and hang ups keep her from the life that she could have – a life with a family full of love and acceptance.

The characters are well developed, engaging and realistic. It is easy to connect with the characters. They aren’t perfect; they have their flaws just like you and I do. This makes the characters realistic and easy to have a connection with. They will quickly become like one of your friends, neighbors and family. I will definitely continue to read the series to see what happens with the rest of the characters.

Kari Trumbo is a very talented author that gets better and better. She has a gift for writing entertaining and sweet stories. I have read several books by her and have not been disappointed yet! She has quickly become one of my go-to authors that I really enjoy reading. I recommend this book and series to anyone that enjoys reading a clean western romance with a delightful ending. This book is part of a series; however, it can be read as a stand-a-lone. If you are looking for a good series than Cutter’s Creek is a great place to start.

Part of a Series: bk23
Hero: Fin - Helps around town, is reluctant to take over the family farm.
Heroine: Angel - Her father died 3 yrs prior, she felt obligated to continue his traveling photography business.
plot/storyline:4.5* Hoping to find work in Cutter's Creek since it has been 10 yrs since she has last been there. She came starving and ragged her old friend Fin and his family helped her out. Old and new feelings stirred between them, but she felt obligated to her father to continue his work.
Ending-4.5*- A bittersweet HEA. At times I wanted to smack her because she just took her sweet loving time to figure things out. But during her growth time Fin was also growing stronger spiritually.
Overall rating:4.5 - I would like to have more information on her father felt left hanging there but then again the characters felt the same way. This book was heartbreaking as it was wonderful

I have thoroughly enjoyed each book I have read in this series, and this one was no exception. Although it is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. I loved this return visit to the characters from Cutter's Creek and was pulled into Angel and Fin's story from the first pages. Kari certainly knows how to pull the reader into the lives of her characters, and she accomplished that with this one. I definitely recommend this story as well as the others in the series to the reader who enjoys good historical fiction and a wonderful combination of romance and faith. I was given a copy of this book by the author, but a favorable review was not required. The opinions expressed are my own.

Angel and Fin

Angel was raised by her traveling father who was a photographer. Always on the road, with no mention of a mother. Angel had assumed she had died early on, and never thought to ask about her... after Angel's father took ill and passed away, she continued on with being a traveling photographer but times were hard and she fell into poverty. When she ended up in Cutter's Creek, where she had been 10 years earlier, she was emaciated and had nothing.

Fin never stopped loving Angel, even though they were young when they had that one month together 10 years ago. When she appeared after all that time, his heart sang. But was she ready to give up her wanderings for him?

Sweet HEA.

Keepsake is the perfect title for this book. IT is a keepsake.
I found this to be a clean, easy read with delightful characters, beautiful scenery and a strong storyline. Ms Trumbo has also, in addition to skillfully writing another wonderful Cutters Creek series love story, incorporated encouraging and uplifting life lessons. All in all, full of emotion and faith with a happy ever after ending.

Thought provoking

I've never read a western novel that had the photographer as the central character. I liked it.
The point of the story, besides the obvious love with barriers, seems to me to be how totally misguided we can be when we believe we KNOW something and leave no room for either compromise or change.

Memories.

She lost her dad. Didn't know about a mom. But remembered Fin and he never forgot her. Amazing that you can remember a person so clearly from 10 yrs ago. A start to a relationship between 2 people and a month of being connected.

Spoiler alert

So much annoying with the plot, Fin staying behind? Ridiculous. Some religious moral that I thought really missed the point.

Finding God's Plan

This story is wonderfully written and shows the ups and downs of the relationship as they deal with their own expectations and experiences.
