Mom of two rockin' girls, Reader of everything, Author of The Dragon Guards series and many more surprises to come!

I am a sarcastic, sometimes foul-mouthed, not afraid to drink a beer, always southern woman with 2 of the most amazing teenage daughters,
a menagerie of animals and a voracious appetite for reading who recently decided to write the storied running through her brain. I read my first book, Dr Suess' Cat in The Hat by myself at 4 and was hooked.
I believe a good book along with shoes, makeup and purses will never let a girl down and that all heroes of all the books
I have ever read or will ever write pale in comparison to my daddy! I am a sucker for a happy ending and love some hot sweaty sex with a healthy dose of romance.
I am still working on my story but believe it will contain all of the above with as much SPICE as I can work into it. CHEERS!

*CAUTION* contains adult situations
Welcome back to Hairy Wort for Daisy's story. Daisy has to battle sleep during the day because she is the only child of the sandWOman, but as soon as the sun goes down she's as lively as a kid with a sugar high. Daisy is the oldest (that they know of) of Nate the butthead's offspring. Daisy and her half siblings run a detective agency in their little town and those witches can come across some messed and get into some as well!
The characters of the Southern Fried Sass series are spunky with attitude. This story will make you laugh while they solve an actual mystery. I like that there is the seriousness of a murder to be solved, but the story makes it light and fun while still get all questions answered. Great series.

REVIEW
This story is Daisy Jo' and wow what a gut-busting story it is.
Daisy is apart of the Southern Fried Sass Detective Agency and she has been tasked with watching after the diner. A few issues with this. Daisy is the daughter of the Goddess of the Stars which means sandman haha and in order to break the sleeping spell she has to find her true mate. Until then Daisy and the dragonettes have their hands full with another mystery to solve that surrounds you guessed it, Nate the butthead father who sired one too many children, a pig shifter, and quite a few other characters... And well I can't forget to mention Daisy is gonna have her hands bearly full...
Funny, Sassy, Quirky and much more is what you get in this story... Grab your copy.

My favorite of the series so far. Would have been 4 stars, but for the editing errors, so 3+

On the series in general:

Lots of humor, some romantic sparks, supernatural fun, and small-town silliness. Solid, but there are other series in the same vein that I prefer (Alyssa Day's Dead Eye series comes to mind). Still, a fun series of short reads, if you have the time.

However, these books seem to all need an extra editing read. They read like a next-to-last draft - almost ready, but not quite.

In general, they focus more on the humor and the character's "sass" rather than the adventure or the romance. Sometimes the train of thought narration gets very confusing to follow - just too many tangents! The Fated Mate storylines really don't allow for any build up between the characters, just that they meet, are immediately in love, have their adventure and then end the story with a sex scene (that's really the formula for these stories). For the most part, no real angst or drama or any real development of the characters or relationship. This one actually had some romantic plot and conflict that the leads had to address before falling into bed. Still a very simple and hitch-free romantic plot, but at least this one had some development.

And it's a weird complaint, but one I felt in each book. So much of the first part of the story tries to play up the sass, that it really plays up the slang, the dialect, the trains of thought. All a lot more unique. And then you reach the sex scene at the end, and the whole tone and voice changes. It's still the h narrating, but it doesn't sound like the rest of the story, if that makes sense. Rather odd. This one was the mildest example (maybe because Daisy had less sass so the change was less abrupt?) but it was still there.

On this book in particular:

And we continue on with the silly small town magic. The half-sister witches and their Dragonette familiars are becoming more established in the tiny LA town of Hairy Wort. Rosie and Faith are off with their mates (books 1 and 2), leaving Daisy (h) in charge, along with the Dragonettes and the newest arrivals to the SFS sisterhood. Covering the bakery in town for a friend, the girls find a murder victim in one of the ovens when they open one morning! More than just a murder in town, this death shows signs of being part of a larger magic plot. Daisy's Fated Mate comes into play as the owner of the bakery where everything started.

There are quite a few plot holes with the mystery that just get rather glossed over. But it was better than the last one! The McGuffin here (the big sapphire all the fuss was about) actually came into play, unlike the mystical stone in the last book. Was very pleased. Still, even with the holes in the supernatural and mystery plot lines, it's really more about the humor and the happy silliness, so as long as you're OK with that, you're good to go.

I wasn't too fond of Faith in the last two books, so was honestly relieved that she (and even Rosie) weren't featured here. Everything focused more on Daisy and the new sisters. Daisy's been my favorite in the other stories, and she didn't let me down here. Plus, we've got three new sisters and three new Dragonettes to get to know.

As I mentioned above, these books seem to all need an extra editing read. This one was the worst for that. I'd've given it 4 stars if it hadn't been for all the errors! I mean, full sentences were repeated! Plus the usual missing words here or there, and homophone errors. Some continuity errors (both between books and within books), too, which always drive me nuts. A Swine Shifter was referred to by the wrong name (which was confusing enough since they were all P alliterations!). Lots of punctuation typos too (both actual typos and comma/period misuse). Plus some straight-up factual errors. This one really got me: Benedicte is the feminine form of the name. Benedict is the masculine. It's like naming a boy Danielle instead of Daniel. And another factual error. Ring-tailed cats aren't cats. They're in the raccoon family.

Alternating 1st person from Daisy and Benny's POVs (alternating by section, not simple chapters). No cheating, no OW/OM drama, no love triangle. Supernatural drama that's rushed through pretty quickly. Same with the mystery. The romance was the most built up here, and they actually had to talk to sort things out! Was very pleased to see that. But like the rest of the series, all those points aren't really what the story's about. It's more about the humor and lighthearted fun, and if that's all you're looking for, this might be a good fit. HEA and no cliffhanger, though the epilogue does lead into the next sister's story (Jamie this time).

Would I read more in the series? Yes. I've actually read all 4. They aren't perfect, but they're fast and fun and silly, and sometimes that's just what you're looking for.

Of the sisters so far, I like Daisy best. The most easy going unless riled, and that is usually by her mate. While Faith and Rosie are off with their mates, Daisy and her new sisters are left in charge, and unknowlingly, of Daisy's mate's bakery when they stumble on a dead body. Daisy's first case without her sisters, and one she is determined to see through to the very end. However, things get complicated when her and all of the wacky characters of their paranormal town learn that someone they all thought long dead is back, and has her sights set on Daisy.

Another cute, fun story with likeable but strange characters, in a town with the weirdest name yet.

Daisy Jo Nightblossom is a witch and the daughter of Cassandra, the Goddess of the Stars (a.k.a. The Sandwoman). Daisy has to fight sleep during the day (which will end when you finds her mate) but is wide awake at night. She and her sisters own and operate the Southern Fried Sass Detective Agency. They have another mystery to solve, a murder!!

This story has it all-funny bone humor, seriousness, mayhem and romance. I love this series and all the unique characters, especially the dragonettes!! Highly recommend this story as well as the first two!

Short, fun read about love, mistakes, and a good showdown between good witches and not so good witches. Daddy issues no problem most everyone has them. The female side of your family sending say Daddy to hell for being a no good son of a fish who wants to rule the world. Priceless! The title is a misnomer Daisy wasn't lazy she is misunderstood. It's not her fault she can't keep awake, her mother is the Sandman or is it Sandwoman don't care. The girl gets things done when needed and got a mate in the process. Go Daisy!!

Daisy is desperate to discover who is causing problems in town. Will they figure it out before it is to late?

Absolutely loved getting to meet Daisy and get inside her head. I loved how she was a strong, sassy character. I loved how Benny, while being this big bear, had insecurities just like everyone else. These two were a great match and I cannot wait for more of the sisters! Another Julia Mills hit!

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Julia Mills has a unique sense of humor, a joy of life, pure southern charm, and a gift for writing. Combine those and you'll find yourself lost in the magic that is Julia Mills. That's never been more evident than in the "Southern Fried Sass" series and the third book, "Lazy Daisy". Daisy and her half-siblings run a detective agency. Between clues and humor you'll enjoy every step of this adventure.

This is the third book in the Southern Fried Sass series and boy oh boy this series keeps me cracking up. I truly enjoy the sassy women and their dragonettes. Poor Daisy has to fight sleep during the day because she is the daughter of the Sandwoman. This side effect of being the sandwomans daughter will end once she finds her mate and lets just say the seriousness and humor that roll around in this book keep her on her toes. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Last Daisy

If you love quirky, quick witted, funny, and extremely sassy characters, then you will absolutely love this book. This author has a way with words that will keep you giggling and amazed at her sense of humor and imagination. In this book Daisy gets to meet more relatives then she can handle and a mate who will drive her crazy, all while trying to solve a murder and save the people of Hairy Wort from evil. Loved it!!!!

Daisy Jo gets a mate

Now the three original sisters have their mates. More siblings are showing up, and since Nate got around, there will be more.
Cassandra and Granny are pretty cool.
The demise of the bad guy felt a little anticlimactic maybe because it was over fairly quickly.
Ben, her mate, of course screws up, and she makes him work for forgiveness. It was a really good apology too.

A great read

I enjoyed Daisy and Ben's story. I like she wanted to do on her own and not rely on Faith or Rosie for help. Not to mention she did for herself with Ben too. She is independent and I love that with heroines in stories. Ben is a sexy bear shifter. That screams hot. He also is shy when it comes to Daisy. Lots of excitement and laughter in the book. All the little dragons I just love.

Julia's writing makes me happy. I laugh a lot while reading her love spells series. All the sisters are really sassy and the detective agency is really is sassy. Like I know what sassy is and sometimes people joke about me being sassy but Daisy takes the cake on that one. The ladies in this series are the best type of sassy. I never read a book before that showed the level of this sassyness.

For 18+ who like reading about different type of shifters and mates finding each other.

Out of the 3 sisters so far cause there are more...I like Daisy the best. She's more down to earth than Faith and Rosie. I think because she's older and not that she's not crazy in her own cute way. Just not as obnoxious. 😂 Ben...oh you dumb bear you! Cute and protective but a little bit of a runner. That didn't work for him at the end. Go Daisy cause I loved that.

Whoooweee

Those ladies from Southern Fried Sass make sure there is never a dull moment when the author whisks us away to Hairy Wort. This book is a great addition to the series. Once again the residents of Hairy Wort band together with fur, magic and snarkiness to solve the problem and help the star couple reach their HEA. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

Another awesome story!

Hilarious and captivating, Daisy’s story was full of interesting twists and turns that kept my full attention. I was a bit annoyed at how Benny got through to Daisy at the end though. Daisy shouldn’t have allowed him to win like that. Lol.
