Always Been Mine

Rate this book
No one ever tells me no. Not in the office. Not in life. My military background has me giving direct orders and expecting quick, compliant responses. And I’m in need of an office assistant. Someone to step up when I need her to. I just never expected it to be my first love. She’s a single mother now. The girl from across the street when I was just a kid. My little sister’s best friend. The one I gave everything to before leaving that small town. And here we are again. Face to face. Stuck in a room with suits and stiffs. All I want is her. Not who she can be or what she can do for me. But who she was and will always be. Mine. Every good girl deserves a bad boy. ~Weston

Hey there. I'm Weston.

Have we met? No? Well it's time to end that tragedy.

I'm a former firefighter/EMS guy who's picked up the proverbial pen and started writing bad boy romance stories. I co-write with my sister, Ali Parker, but live in Texas with my wife, my two little boys, my daughter, two dogs, three cats, and a turtle.

Yep. A turtle. You read that right. Don't be jealous.

You're going to find Billionaires, Bad Boys, Military Guys and loads of sexiness.

Something for everyone, hopefully. I'd love to connect with you. Check out the links below and come find me.

This is a well written second chance romance with strong, well developed characters in Allison and David who have a hot chemistry and strong connection with each other. The author once again does a fantastic job developing the story and bringing a hot and sexy read with a bit of drama and surprises along the way. I was hooked from start to finish reading and would recommend this book.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.

A Steamy Second Chance 🔥♥🔥♥

When you get a second chance with the one that got away David DeVant won't give up. David is now CEO of his father's billion dollar advertising company but his life feels hollow and he's dreaming of a loving wife and children, especially a daughter. After a year following his father's posing he finally agrees to meet his sister at their childhood home to get it ready to sell. Memories of the girl across the street that used to throw dirt at him makes him smile. Allison Simon is now a divorced single mother and struggling to make ends meet with a douche of an ex. With a chance meeting David is smitten all over with Allison and her now daughter Sierra. The what if's, and could have been's don't stand in the way of the chemistry arching off this meant to be couple. Working through hurdles thrown at them by their past, will this single mom and CEO be able to forge a future together??? A great story that flows flawlessly with real characters. His/her POV, no cheating, no cliffhanger, and a very HEA!.! I love how David and Sierra bond from the first meeting and David Stroud in to help Allison anyway he can. Can't wait for more from Weston Parker. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book and purchased a copy for my favorite collection. A must one click!!!

Hard to put down

Eric was happy in the Air Force when he had to give up his dream and come home to run his father 's company. His father died suddenly and he is the oldest son. He's not very sure what he's doing at the company and relies on his friend Greyson a lot.

Cassie has a business degree but has been unable to find a job in her field. She is waitressing to make money. She has a 6 year old daughter and is divorcing her husband. She lived across the street from Eric her whole life and had !oved him always.

Cassie is at her parents and has a chance meeting with him. When he discovers she needs a job he makes one up for her. He wants her as his assistant. He is also impressed with her daughter.

Great story with wonderful characters. Very hot sexy time! Some surprises. Very hard to put down. I'm downloading Graysons book immediately!!

🌟4 Stars🌟-Great (had my attention and I enjoyed it),

Dual POV; Standalone; HEA. 17+ readers; No cliffhanger.

Great story line. Hot military man comes home to take over his family's company now that his father has passed away. He see's his first love and sparks fly again. She's a newly divorced mother trying to get through life caring for her daughter and in need for a job. He's willing to hire her because, it her, his first love and he's willing to do whatever to get her back. There are some twists and turns which make things more interesting. Enjoy the ride!

A simple read with lots of hidden surprises and who doesn't love a guy who can get a second chance and what he's wanted most, a family.

The actual story was really good but there was so much sex that it became like page filler to me. I actually found myself rolling my eyes and thinking again? More focus on the story and the characters and less on the sex would have made it so much better. But when there's such an excess it loses all meaning and isn't even spicy anymore. Not clutching my pearls and not fanning myself. No urges over here. What a waste of potential.

I really liked the characters - all of the DeVants and the Bealls. Greyson and Katrina were also great characters. I would like to read more about them but I'm not sure if I want to devote the time to an overabundance of sex. Sometimes less is more - especially if it's wild graphic sex. But too much of a good thing and it becomes meaningless.

One thing that bothered me a lot was that the main character's name was Cassie but in the later half of the book she was called Allie 4 or 5 times by Eric and Katrina. Such a massive typo that it literally pulled me out of the story every time. That kind of stuff should not happen. The other thing was the messed up timeline. It was Thanksgiving and everyone was at Cassie's parents house. Eric and Cassie had a fight and she told Eric to leave. The next day they made up. There was the DNA test results and they all moved in together into the house Eric grew up in. Renovations are needed. The next chapter (30) it's Thanksgiving again so I'm thinking a year has passed. Eric proposes to Cassie at Thanksgiving dinner with all of the families together and tells Cassie he's going to step down and hand the company over to Grayson. Next chapter (31) it says 1 YEAR LATER - so 2 years have passed. Renovations are still in progress (someone needs to be fired if it's taking 2 years to renovate the house.) Eric's been promising for weeks that he's going to step down. (?? weeks - it's been a year, hasn't it?) Sierra is still 6 years old. It reads like the time jump should have been at chapter 30 instead of 31, but I'm not sure. So, confusion that just wasn't necessary.

So only 3 stars for what had the potential to be a 4 1/3 to 5 start read.

I was gifted with an ARC of this wonderful second chance romance with your high school sweetheart.

David and Allison grew up together as neighbors and in high school became more than just friends. David is a year older, and after graduation, he decided to enlist in the Air Force. He returns home on leave and it happens to be Allisons senior prom time. With no date, David takes her. He soon leaves, and leaves her heartbroken and in the arms of another guy. Now years later he is back home to clear out the family estate after the loss of his father and discovers that Allison is a single mother to a mini-me named Sierra.

After finding out that Allison is looking for a job, he ends up making up a position in his company for her, as he is the CEO. They work close together daily, and it starts to bleed into their personal life. He begins to help Sierra out whenever she needs.

He has been wanting to settle down and start a family, so who better to do this with than his first true love. And the fact that he is already falling in love with her daughter only helps to sweeten the pot. As they get closer they have a few bumps in the road on their way to a happily ever after.

I loved the extended epilogue or novella whatever you want to call it; it was nice to see the after in a story and not just the up to. Not many authors add it in they have to email or wait days or weeks for bonus and sometimes after you have waited all that time it loses some of its bang.

I have been blessed this weekend to read stories by talented authors who are capable of producing work that is emotionally complex, with a detailed and vivid plot, and has enough chemistry to level a city. I go into a book looking for a story that can suck me into the lives of the characters, make me weep for their heartache, and cheer for their victories. The two families involved in this book have done just that. David and Allison's is a story of second chances to get it right, and those second chances reach out to touch their families as well. David is a sweetheart from the moment the book starts: he pretty much can do no wrong in my eyes. Allison's a fierce, independent, single mother. To me, that makes her a super hero. They certainly don't get it right from the get-go. This book's about all the miss-steps they make while finding their way back to one another. There's lots of big, powerful emotions, some secrets and drama, a dose of lust, and a whole lot of family love. It also looks like there might be the set up for a future book or two in the making.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.

ONE ENGAGING EXPERIENCE!!!
Holy, moly! Talk about blowing your top. All the twists and turns, ups and downs, ins and outs, along with a few glitches and some unexpected surprises that really rock this read. A rollercoaster ride with a plethora of emotions running rampant. A guy just can't catch a break. This is one action packed, pulse racing, heart pounding, page turning bombshell that captivating as is riveting. The characters are written with such realism it really pulls this bad boy together beautifully. The chemistry between the two main characters are off the charts, white hot and explosive. The scenes are so graphically detailed it's easy to picture each scenario as they play off one another in perfect balance. Weston did a remarkable job bringing this read to life flawlessly. Fantastic job Weston, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.

This is a second chance romance with a great twist! I always like stories that have a young child and Serra, a first grader, is fantastic, not only with her mother but from when she first meets David, Retired Air Force and now CEO of the advertising company his father built. Her parents are divorced, but her father ignores her and can't be bothered to come like the other dads to Career Day. When she gets into trouble for telling the kids her father is dead, she invites David to act as her father; boy does he make an impression! David is renewing his love of Allison and falling in love with Sierra all leading to them becoming a family and moving into the home David grew up in across the street from Allison's parents! Too good!

Didn't enjoy as much as I thought I would.

This one just didn't grab me, Ive read many from this author and loved them, unfortunately this one just didn't grab my attention, I liked the characters and did enjoy the first half, however the second half I just didn't enjoy.
The attitude of the characters seemed to change and I really lost interest.
When the main characters moved in together they seemed to drift apart at a time that they should have been bonding, too much sulking and both seemed not to have total trust of each other just for no reasons. And I didn't understand why he was retiring at his age ( early thirties ) when he made such a big deal of losing his military career when his dad died to run the family multi million dollar business.

Excellent contemporary billionaire friends to lovers romance. Allison has always loved David since she was a young girl. David and Allison lived in the same neighborhood growing up and their families hung out together. As they grew into teens their feelings changes then David left for the military. Years later David comes home and meets Allison and her six-year old daughter. The characters and story line are well developed and has the reader quickly turning the page. I received a complimentary copy of this book and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by Mr. Parker.

Always Been Mine is a first love, second-chance, single mom romance.
Weston Parker's Always Been Mine has all the components of a perfect romance. First love, misunderstandings and broken hearts drive the story of high school students who are separated by circumstances. Life happens in the meantime, and provides an opportunity for redemption and a second chance at love. An HEA, an alpha male who yearns for a family, and lots and lots of steam add to the experience and made this a wonderful read.

I received an advance reader copy of this book. I read it and am offering my honest, voluntary review

Always Be Mine. A wonderful second chance romance story. This was a story that kept me hoping for the HEA. David came back from the Air Force to his home town to take over his father's company and bring his siblings back together. He runs into his sister's friend that he had a crush on. He hires her but knew he had to rekindle the relationship they once had. It was a little more complicated because she had a crazy ex-husband and a daughter that David fell in love with. This brings drama but Allison and David resolve the problems and get their HEA. Great read! *** I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else’s. ***

A solid HEA

Always Been Mine has a great storyline, different from some of your typical single or divorced parent books.

I gave it a solid three rating because there are some typos (the use of Alli vs Cassie ) in several spots, and it sorta drug out at the end keeping the reader wondering if the two lead characters were splitting or working things out. Overall I’m a big Weston Parker fan and will continue to read his other books over, and over but it wasn’t my absolute favorite.

Always been mine: A single mom office romance

I enjoyed the story and I was surprised that the story had another ten or so chapters after the guy got the girl.I don't know that it was all that Important to this story but it was a bridge to a story about Blaine and Greyson. However you don't have to read the story to enjoy Greyson's story or Blaine's if there is one. I don't think it was necessary to have so many graphic sexual scenes. A few well-honed sentences would have been enough to let the reader know what the characters were up to.

Oh my! Loved this story!

So sweet. Sexy, hot and lovable. Second chance single mom story. Allison and David have been in love since high school. Both went their separate ways. But when David comes back to town after his fathers death and sees his old love with a little girl who has eyes like his? He longs for what he passed up all those years ago. I love anything by this author. Loved the story. You won’t be disappointed.

They grew up across the street from each other. She would throw dirt at him when he and his friends rode by on their bikes when they were 6.
He's now CEO of his father's company and he needs a Personal Assistant and she just got her business degree. Is it fate? There is a lot more that happened between then and now and the story just keeps getting better and better. I love the way Weston puts a story together. Fun to read.

David and Allison have known each other since they were kids. Allison has always been infatuated with David but his head was always in the clouds. When he left for the military Allison chose someone else a man that was unworthy of her and verbally abusive as well. Divorced and scraping by she reconnects with David who offers her a job. Will this reconnection be the start of a happily ever after for the two? I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.

Always Been Mine

They had been neighbors growing up, she had crushed on him, and then he went into the military. Their story, is full of surprises, as they run into each other again years later, the friendship, feelings, laughter, family is still there. Join David and Allison to see where their story takes them❤️. I enjoyed reading it.

This book moved way too fast. There was no romantic build up. Also, it was pretty superficial. None of the characters including the daughter had any depth to their personalities. It was a quick cute read. I always enjoy a single mom romance. However, I wish this book was written in a more touching and meaningful manner.

It sounded like a good book

It sounded like a good book from the blurb and reviews but I couldn't get through 2 chapters. The F bomb was dropped so many times I couldn't go on reading. I do read books where it is used sparingly but this was every other sentence. Sorry I know some people speak this way but I don't want to read it.
