This is a wonderful collection of stories that hits every emotion and left me wanting more. The stories are varied, some are not so happy, others sweet and fun, basically all are different and great stories to read. I hesitate to say too much about any of the stories specifically, I don’t want to spoil them. I will say that I lost myself in the pages of this book losing all track of time.

Scattered Moments In Time
Samantha A Cole
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Wow, this was so unexpected., Samantha has given us glimpses into so many genres that will without a doubt conjure up emotions and deal head on with lives we’ve never seen, people we’ve never met. Some will make you laugh, others a blubbering fool and or course super hot chemistry that Samantha is known for. Below are small thoughts for each moments captured. A little deep for a Christmas read, but when I had the opportunity to start I couldn’t ignore it so I jumped in, and so glad I did.

Part 1
Unconditional : Love Like a Dog
A story written through dogs eyes, genius. Not only was this strangely weird but so sweet, cute and fun with underlying mentions of dogs feeling that so many humans don’t consider. They really are own family. I loved Debbie and jinx.

Part 2
A Warriors Heart
Wow, just WOW. Samantha has always been the mistress of military stories, hers are some of the best I’ve ever read, but A Warriors Heart, was so fast, that my heart was thumping. A real life look into war and the ones it takes and leaves behind.

Numbers Don’t Lie
There isn’t a woman in this world who doesn’t like something on their body, and Cora is feeling all those pounds on her 50th birthday, until she’s pulled o er by a handsome police officer who might just change up her world.

The Lost Man
Alzheimers is just like cancer, it is the absolute devil. This is a cruel look into the very brief world of a man totally destroyed by it.

Part 3
The Hatred Within
One city under threat of gang war, riots and a disbanded police force facing the end of what they know. This was a very brief glimpse into a world I hope to never see.

Part 4
I Am
I Am – this is a heartfelt look into the minds of the police. Written in a poem type format, it is real, sad, confronting. To all those who serve, I salute you

Part 5
Stoke The Flames

Cade Fallon is one of Hannaford‘s fire men and also Mr October in the newest fireman calendar (you know the one I’m talking about, we’ve all had one, all looked for “Mr October“). poor Cade struggles with the unwanted female attention that comes with his new found celebrity status, but as guardian for his nephew who’s parents killed in a devastating car accident, women falling at his feet is just another hurdle to overcome.

Jenna Anderson, is year 3 teacher at local school, she adores the kids and loves her job, but secretly wishes she could find a man, lose a few pounds… you know the spiel. She has a special place in her heart for Chris Fallon after the death of his parents, so watching him fail wasn’t an option. Organising a parent teacher interview with his uncle to discuss his needs to pass, she comes face to face with Cade Fallon, Mr October himself.

She is taken immediately by his gorgeous, rugged looks and the perfect body. She knows he is out of her league, men like him don’t like curvy women but she is about to get the shock of her life when Cade not only accepts her offer to tutor him in maths, but makes it very clear that the moment she is no longer Chris’s teacher, she will be fair game, and he will pursue her. Knowing what he does to her it is a given, Cade is that perfect man, no other women exists while he’s with Jenna, and his mother is ready to push him into her too.

Part 6
Stud Muffin

We first met Suki and Rafe in A Devils Spare Change, I did enjoy there banter then so seeing another glimpse made me very HaPpY.

After working together on a case, Suki and Rafe had leftover feelings and when she is bridesmaid at his cousins wedding it is a perfectly planned opportunity to spend some more time together. Never one to beat around the bush Rafe his in for the kill, not literally but very figuratively. There chemistry is white hot, and in one weekend they’ll rekindle that first meeting.

Im so excited to see Rafe and Suki get their own full length story late next year.

A refreshing change from the norm, the very short stories are a mix of sad, cute and inspirational, some are very deep. They open your eyes in some ways to how law enforcement or military serving their countries must feel, often putting their lives on the line for us, the risks and worry of leaving family behind. I really enjoyed reading them from the perspective of the person telling the story. Two fabulous slightly longer stories complete the book, both are interesting, hot and steamy reads. All in all I found this to be a really great read, the moving shorts you may want to keep tissues handy. If you like reading something a bit different and a little quirky then this is a must read.

*spoilers* Wow! Grab the tissues before you start! This is an absolutely beautiful collection of stories and more. I really enjoyed all of them. I Am was absolutely beautiful. This beautiful book also had me reflecting on, and being thankful for those who serve and protect. Whether it's the local first responders, or the men in women who sacrifice life and limb for our country. There was also cute and quirky, and the struggles of aging. These are stories of love, loss, heartbreak, and joy. Everyone will find something that touches them in some way.

There are short stories you read that once you close the book you never think about again. And then you get a hold of this collection and it blows you away. Between the soldiers last thoughts, life through the eyes of our four legged friend and the memories lost within our own minds, this was an emotional overload. Matched together with uplifting words and a beautiful and awe inspiring poem this collection is one I will remember for a very long time. 5 stars are not enough!!

New short stories and an old favorite, Stoke the Flames from one of my favorite authors. Samantha's writing is so special and you will find yourself going through so many emotions but still thanking her for wringing them out of you as you laugh and cry. The book is a quick and easy read and due to the format of different books, you can pick and choose which ones you want to read and in whatever order you choose.

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest and totally voluntary review.

This book is a departure from the usual romantic suspense fare that is Samantha A. Cole however, each piece is packed with emotion and compels the attention forward. Like an all-you-can-eat buffet, this work has a little something for everyone! Bring your kleenex and your snuggle buddies and settle in for a great journey! Yet another must read from Samantha A. Cole!

A collection of short stories, sweet and lovely stories and stories I had to think about. Some stories for me were hard in transition going from happy to harsh but that’s what life is about. I do challenge everybody to read this book..

Flat characters and rushed plots equals for a very bad read. This book has none of that. The stories were short enough to finish in one sitting, but the treasure I took away from them lasted a lot longer.

Scattered Moments in Time: A Collection of Short Stories & More
by Samantha A. Cole
Narrated by Gunnar Qualen and Jenna St Claire

I love quick listens, and this one is chock full of them! With the flare of Samantha Cole, a collection of easy to listen to short stories is packed into this listen, each one just long enough for my walks where I can enjoy them best. They are not your typical stories by Cole, but show some different sides of her, showcasing her versatility as an author. From Rafe and Suki's spicy story to the dark, and all too realistic NYPD facing their new reality. My favorite? The dog of course, who doesn't love a dog? But I loved the fact that not every one of these is happy, but thought provoking. It's a great selection of her work and one you should put on your list to hear.

Gunnar Qualen and Jenna St Claire do justice to each of these pieces, proving their talents aren't just the dark and delicious! These two dig into each story and make the characters their own! Qualen as a dog named Jinx to a warrior gives us just a glimpse at his versatility. And give St Claire a character like Cora, a realistic woman or Suki, a woman in love, she showcases her art with realistic women easy to relate to. I love this team and always enjoy their storytelling.

A good collection

No plot spoilers (too many stories to do that)
No potential triggers.
I don't usually purchase short stories, I find it bugs me too much when a good one ends abruptly. However, as a fan of Samantha Cole I couldn't pass this one up. The collection is eclectic, my moods swinging from utter sadness to wide grins as I read each story, and that's what a collection of short stories is supposed to do, instill an emotional response based on few words, making that connection that makes the reader think.
Some stories are only a few pages, others are almost novellas, all of them spoke to me on some level.
There are no grammatical or editorial errors that I can recall.
There are some sex scenes each of them appropriate and loving.
I actually changed my star rating from four to five because the book delivers, it's a fault of my own that short stories still, despite the excellence of this collection, are not my thing.

This is a varied anthology of eclectic stories. The stories are good, just not what I was expecting from this author. Unconditional: Love Like a Dog was the best feel good story. Part Two stories are heart wrenching and great writing, But you will cry. Part Three takes a turn into a alternate universe world of martial law. Part Four is a Poem that honors the police. Part Five was a feel good romance with a fire fighter. The final story was a second chance at a missed opportunity romance. This is the only story that was connected to one of her current books. And it was nice to revisit these characters.

Very entertaining set of short stories that have very interesting characters to follow and interesting story lines. The settings are interesting and the backgrounds for the stories help the characters develop and makes the stories read well. It's always interesting when an author puts a group of their short stories together but have different plots, characters, and locations. Interesting to find out how an author's mind works. Good set of short stories.

Marvelous

From the imaginative mind of Samantha Cole comes this marvelous collection of vignettes and short stories that depict everyday people. I smiled, grinbed and laughed outright. I also teared up and ugly cried. The poignancy of two of these tales was heartwrenching and the sweet romantic tales were uplifting. Do yourself a favor, buy this, read this and rejoice in our humanity

If you walk into this book thinking you are getting something along the lines of the Trident Series, you may be disappointed. It is not that.

I enjoyed the stories. Some are heavy - a lot to take in. Some are fun! Some are a good romance read.

I listened to the audio. It felt like the narrators were just reading the words on the page. Which is not typically my preference for narration (i prefer more performance narrativestyle), but worked for these stories.

Definitely worth the read/listen.

I really love Samantha Cole. Let me start by say that. I know these are just a compilation of random essays and short stories. However the beginning few are downright depressing. They did however bring me to tears so they did make me feel. I really loved the last story. A bit more full fledged than the others with a HEA. 3.5/5 stars
