Hiring Ainsley was a mistake but firing the little beauty when she's broke seems unfair. Besides, I like being around her. She doesn't want anything from me like everyone else. She's not aggressive or forceful. She's sweet, unexpected, and, damn, if she isn't getting under my skin. If I’m not careful, I'll drag her into my arms, my bed, and into the dark pit of my world—a place she doesn't belong. A place I don't belong, but a place I might be able to withstand if she's with me. ~ Sebastian Gianni
Sebastian - Risking Forever is the companion novel to Risking Forever: vol 1 and told from Sebastian's POV.
**Warning**This novel contains spoilers that aren't revealed in Risking Forever: vol 1 until mid-point in Daring Forever: vol 2. I kept the stories separate to maintain the mystery and suspense in Risking Forever and recommend reading the other 2 first.
Tara Gallina writes across various romance genres, from new adult and college to small town and fantasy. While most of her books are steamy, she’s also penned a few sweeter titles.
Her stories blend angst, tormented heroes, a hint of humor, and the occasional tear. Many of her stories come alive through settings inspired by her travels.
When she’s not writing, she loves to visit gardens, New England in the fall, European castles, and Caribbean beaches. She has a fairy garden, a Lady Lair for writing, favors the color pink, and only drinks wine that tastes like melted sugar.
She lives in the Sunshine State with her husband, though her two sons have since left for college. Her writing journey began in 2015 when she signed with a literary agent for a young adult retelling. Since then, she’s moved on to publishing steamy romances and hasn’t looked back.
If this series couldn't get any better we get Sebastian's point of view! We get to hear his thoughts and perspective on Ainsley. Author Tara Gallina does a wonderful job at bringing Sebastian to life and taking on the man's perspective. I was not disappointed. I do suggestion readers read this book once they finish with the series and Ainsley's point of view. It was immensely fun and heartbreaking to follow Sebastian. You wanted to both hug him and hit him at the same time. This was the companion novel we needed. I immensely enjoyed this book.
I started writing Risking Forever in dual point of view between Ainsley and Sebastian. After several beta reads and discussions with my agent at the time, I decided to keep the novel in Ainsley's point of view only. Adding Sebastian's POV reduced the mystery told from Ainsley's side by giving away information the readers wouldn't learn until later in the novel, hence adding to the suspense.
However, since I had much of his parts written, I thought it'd be worthwhile to share his darker side so readers could understand better what was going on in his head during certain scenes.
I hope you enjoy the peek into his inner thoughts. I do plan to finish his version in the future and give it as more free bonus material.
I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.
This was an okay book. It was nice to get Sebastian's view point when he first met Ainsley, but honestly nothing was new. I guess the only different parts were when he was with his dad, but we were told about that later in book 2 or 3 so it wasn't a surprise.
Overall this was an okay series. I'm glad I got a chance to read this and I'm glad the whole series was together in one volume :)
