Mother O' Mine: A Mother's Treasury

Rate this book
Celebrated illustrator, veteran mother, and beloved daughter Mary Engelbreit has created a beautiful and poignant tribute to the one woman most deserving of our affection and gratitude-Mom Motherhood has been an endless source of inspiration for Mary's art since she joined the ranks of the weary but willing. Mothers are their children's nurturers, heroes, booboo fixers, cheerleaders, confidantes, entertainers, and first loves. No one is as adept at depicting these many facets of motherhood as Mary Engelbreit. In this beautifully produced keepsake-with its cloth cover, gilded edges, quality paper, and ribbon marker-you'll find excerpts from classic literature such as Little Women, contemporary prose from authors such as Alice Walker and Anna Quindlen, beloved songs and lullabies, and for the first time ever, the true story of Ann Estelle, including family photographs. Mary has liberally illustrated this treasury edition with never before published art. Every fan of Mary Engelbreit will want this classic for their own collection-and several extras for the mothers and grandmothers in their lives.

This is a wonderful treasury comprised of poetry et al., and all illustrations by Mary Engelbreit. As always, the illustrations are incredible.
It took me awhile to get through this book because it brought to mind so many memories of my mom, who is no longer alive. It made me miss her more, and appreciate all the things she used to do (not only for me but for everyone) and how I wish I could have thanked her many more times than I did.
From the time we were babies (and I was the first) we were read to, taken on trips, played with, cared for when we were sick or sad...the list goes on and on.
This would make a tremendous gift to give. I know I won't be giving mine away anytime soon!
