Fairway to Heaven: A Golf Lover's Mystery

Rate this book
Joining the tri-tour team golf tournament at legendary Pinehurst, North Carolina, was not Cassie Burdette's brightest idea - especially since her team is driving her nuts and she's also agreed to be maid of honor at her friend's wedding. Then the bride's father disappears - and not even her suddenly stellar swing can lift Cassie's spirits. Available only in Mystery 3 & 4.

Readers sift through the clues, deciphering whether or not various crimes are related and what motivations lie behind each offense in Fairway to Heaven by Roberta Isleib. The novel offers a unique setting, a golf club community, and a singular heroine, Cassie, who is a golfer and narrates the tale like a good friend sharing a confidence. A handy glossary of golf terms is provided at the back of the book for non-golfers. Cozy mystery fans will happily take a swing with Cassie into another mystery.

Fairway to Heaven by Roberta Isleib has Cassie the maid of honor for Jeanine's wedding to Rick. This is an honor she would rather not take but she is stuck with it and all it involves. All goes well until she gets caught up in a murder and kidnapping. She tried so hard to do what her shrink suggested...to no avail!

This is another good book in the Golf Lovers series, out of the five books. I'll be reading the last one in the series sometime this year, after I dwindle my book pile. Lots of drama and suspense and good interaction of characters.

I did not like the characters in this book. Maybe I need to figure out the order and start at the beginning, maybe they are more sympathetic if I do not jump in in the middle, maybe. I did enjoy the few parts about golfing, haven't come across much actual golf in my fiction selections.

This book was not that exciting. It met my need of fitting in my purse for long breaks during a conference, but otherwise was nothing remarkable.
