I find it hard to speak in small groups, let alone in public, so this book was right up my alley. Luckily, it’s a quick read too so I already feel like I’ve become a better speaker just by reading it. The tips aren’t overly common, so that you feel like you’re being talked down to. Rather, they’re insightful and actually work to help you feel like you’re confident. Best of all, the ideas have helped me to clear my mind when thinking of things to say, so I don’t feel like I’m grasping in the dark for words. Above all, the writing was easy to follow and felt like I was having a conversation with a teacher, rather than being judged for my lack of abilities. I would recommend this book to anyone looking to improve on their communication skills, even if they don’t find themselves making speeches or talking to large groups.

We all might have faced the nervousness issue while addressing an audience. Sweaty hands, forgetfulness, shivering, increased heartbeat etc had been our major issues while standing in from of a group of people.
Ramakrishna Reddy brings forth a well researched, systematically arranged set of crack codes to entice the audience and make them walk through our words. The steps mentioned in the book are simple yet effective. We might not find the importance to preparation to be taken before delivering a speech. Mostly we expect our speakers to deliver an impromptu performance but author reinforces the importance of preparation. Right from scanning audience to grabbing their pulse, author touches everything that needed to put forth an excellent speech.

The book is not only target the presentations or elocution, but also applies to a candidates appearing for an interview. With help of case studies, author explained everything in an easily comprehensible manner. On the first glimpse, I expected a boring text book on the so and so bullet points for delivering a speech but the book proved the saying ' Don't judge a book by its cover'. Through quirky anecdotes , author has made sure that readers are never bored. Speaking about anecdotes, author clarified my misconception about the word as such. I had a different impression about what an anecdote would be but author not only made it clear but also empowered me into delivering one. The book might seem a bit overpriced for an ordinary Indian reader but for someone who seriously contemplates a career in speaking, the book is priceless.

📚 A Straightforward Lifeline for New Orators.

I picked up “The Ultimate Public Speaking Survival Guide” because I wanted to refine my public speaking skills, and this book does exactly what the title promises — it helps you survive those terrifying first moments on stage. What I liked most is how the author keeps everything easy, straightforward, and practical. There’s no theory-heavy explanation or complicated jargon; he talks to you like someone who has been there and knows exactly what beginners struggle with.

One of the strongest parts of the book is how he addresses fear. That moment when you go on stage, your ears heat up, your heartbeat gets loud, and your mind goes blank — the book shows you how to handle that without panic. His tips feel relatable and doable, especially the ones about grounding yourself, managing your breath, and reframing your nervousness.

The book is well-organized too. Each of the 37 points stands on its own, so you can flip to any page and still take away something useful. The strategies are simple but effective, making it perfect for beginners who want confidence, structure, and clarity.

I would definitely recommend it to beginners who want a practical, no-nonsense guide to speaking without fear.

The Ultimate Public Speaking Survival Guide: 37 Things You Must Know When You Start Public Speaking written by Ramakrishna Reddy is one of the best how to books that I have read. The organization and thought put into this book, make it easy to follow and very educational without being boring. I love that this short book has the capacity to make anyone present as an expert at public speaking. This how to guides the reader from the beginning of how to come up with a great opening, all the way to ending on a good note and everything in between, even tips on dressing and how to handle your nerves before your presentation. This book gives some spectacular tips and information and I highly recommend it to anyone who does public speaking events, all the way to someone who might want to be able to contribute more at work, as the tips in this book are universal when it comes to communication and presenting your ideas. Great read!

The Ultimate Public Speaking Survival Guide is one of the best public speaking guides I have ever come across. The author Ramakrishna Reddy really leads a non-speak into public speaking through step-by-step guidance. Firstly he relates public speaking to taking driving lessons. For most of the people, the first driving lesson is really overwhelming, the same goes for any public speaker. A new driver has to learn to maneuver a lot many things (such as break, clutch, gear, acceleration) and work them in coordination. Similarly, a new speaker has to learn to use a lot many things- voice modulation, script, body language, etc., and use them in coordination. Ramakrishna then moves forward to start teaching these very techniques to his readers and speaks with them in a friendly and confident tone.

Not even the biggest advancements in recent history about technology can help a guy or girl to talk in public.
This is an extremely helpful tool, or better, a resource to boost your confidence and finally links your mouth with your inner thoughts. The best thing about this book is that every point it touch has a solution, and nails pretty much everything about what needs to be done.
I can pretty much relate to the target of this book because I used to have the same problems, and reading this book manages to not only give me the right tools to use and how to use them, but also learn new things and very insightful information. On the opposite side of many people out there who claims that this problem is beyond help, well here is the definitive answer for you, now is time to make a real difference, first read this book and then make up your mind.

It may be rare, but I actually like public speaking. It is a unique way to engage with a lot of people in a short amount of time. And just because I enjoy it does not mean I would not love more tips to help me improve!

I love that it talks about the whole concept and timeline of public speaking without terrible tidbits of advice. From the beginning to even afterwards, it is important in how you portray a compelling message. This is something I wish more public speakers would read. It takes more than just putting the information out there. You actually have to be entertaining. He is able to properly portray what is going on in the audience’s head and how to deal with each situation.

I would highly recommend this book. For anyone just doing a small class presentation, to big speaking engagements or wedding toasts, this book is for you.

Public speaking is probably one of the most common fears among people and one of the skills that, if you master it, can make a huge difference and put you above and beyond so many people that are afraid even to stand in front of an audience, let alone speak to them in an engaging way.
This is an excellent guide, it is clear, brief, and the information is very valuable. It covers everything, from openers to body language, humor closing the speech, to whole thing. It is amazing how just knowing and deconstructing elements of public speaking can demystify it and help so, so much. I wish that I had something like this earlier in my life, when I desperately tried to google how to speak in front of the crowd. I never embarrassed myself, but this book has so much great information, it can really make a difference. I love it, check it out.

A worth reading guide book if you are new to public speaking, struggling to be a good public speaker or just need to improvise. The author has used his talent to write tips, tricks and techniques for being a good public speaker. The analogies between a public speaker and a driver is a good one to relate and get logical understanding. Tone modulation, script, involving the audience, being friendly and confident at the same time is what are the key takeaways from this book.
