“This isn’t a place for beating hearts. This is death, and death is endless.”
Five people. Five crossing fates. One person’s actions change their lives forever.
Making a deal with the Fee has its price. In Katriane Dupont’s case, it comes with scales and an unlimited amount of power. The consequences of her actions unfold with crippling events, shifting the Realms. Shades cross the Death Realm, and an Angel, determined for answers, clips her wings.
Can Kat control what’s within her? Or will it consume her?
“It’s nature, to fight to live, even until your very last breath.”
An author, a mother, a wife, a daughter, and a reader.
D. Fischer is a mother of two very busy boys, a wife to a wonderful and supportive husband, and an owner of two hyper sock-loving dogs and an attention seeking fat cat. Together, they live in a quiet little corner in a state that's located in the middle of the great USA.
D. Fischer is, by no means, an expert in literature, but a book lover at heart. After her kids are tucked in and fast asleep in their dream worlds, she spends most of her evenings buried in Paranormal Science Fiction books, but her dream as been to publish one of her own - not for fame, but for an easy read for all of the other Paranormal Science Fiction lovers out there.
D. Fischer dedicates her books to those exhausted fathers, mothers, and hard-working citizens who just want to come home, sit down, and relax into a world that isn't their own.
In order to maintain privacy, this author has decided to refrain from giving more personal information than what you see above. She wants to thank you for purchasing her books as it helps support her dream, hobby, and household.
***This author is currently working on her next book: Brenna Johnson's Story: (The Cloven Pack Series) Check back soon!***
This book is very well written and very captivating. There are so many characters and subplots that keep twisting and turning and kept me reading to figure out what happened next. Can’t wait to read the next one to find out what happens to Kat and Dyson. Character building 5, Plot 5, Emotional 4, Steam 1
Enraptured reading from the get-go and feeds the fantasy hunger with Fee (Fae), Wolves (Dyson), Vampires, Ghosts, Dragons, Angels (Tember), Witches (Katriane) , and the Sandman. Yeah, I know, right?! Not giving you all the whose who and what they are of course ~ anticipation!
The author, D. Fisher, created wonderful Earth and Dark realms to read and see her characters in who are masterfully written. To be able to write as in-depth to make the reader know the character is difficult, and she did it for all five of the main characters. Each chapter is written from their self point-of-view cycling through them all as you follow them through their own stories waiting to see how all their fates intertwine.
Very excited that this is the first book in a series as I truly want to see where this all goes; the continuance of building each character and their fates. Hope I get to be a part of a book tour as I was with Rise of the Realms: Reborn. Happy I received this!
This book was actually better than expected! It’s full of vampires, ghosts, witches, Fae/fee, angels, and the sandman. All of their stories blended together perfectly and seamlessly. I found myself really enjoying how it was written as well, bouncing back and forth between five different characters. It left you with so many new things to anxiously explore in the sequel and an ending that brings you to your knees. Well done!
Vampires, ghosts and more, everything you could ask for in this type of book. So much happens that it’s impossible to put down until you’re finished. Hopefully there’s a lot more to come. Received a free copy and reviewed voluntarily.
D. Fischer is a new author for me, but as a reader of fantasy and paranormal, I couldn't pass up this book. Fischer does an amazing job in creating an enticing and well-structured web of characters and realms. From the first chapter, she pulls you in with interesting characters who are relatable and real. What I loved the most about this novel is the way each character and realm relates to one another. Each chapter switches from different point of views, letting a different character narrate their own life and predicament. Any author will tell you that it's pretty difficult to master one character's insight, but to pull it off with multiple, it's truly an accomplishment. The world building and how the different realms intertwine really build a multilayer of interest and backstory. I've always been drawn to the dark and gothic, and Reborn delivers these two elements with a perfectly macabre hand.
The only thing holding me back from giving it a 5-star review, was the big need for another editing round. I've caught several typos, such as its vs. it's, there vs. their, and other grammatical and structural issues, as if originally the author had meant to say one thing, but then ended up being something completely different. Usually, this is a huge issue for me, one that will make me drop the book and not continue. However, it is very clear to me that this isn't the case of an author being a bad writer, but just a hasty editing process. It's obvious that Fischer is talented and in well-edited chapters, her writing is off the hook! So I will continue to read this series and can't wait to find out more.
Katriane DuPont is a witch and must make a huge decision on how to try and stop an incurable illness that has struck her coven, Demi-Lune.
But with her decision it has altered the lines of the realms and has changed the path for some. Can Tember, an angel, keep Katriane safe from those who want her power?
This was a super interesting book about the Earth Realm and the Dark Realm and how certain events changed certain things.
It was interesting how Katriane tried to save her coven and what happened to her in the aftermath with Erline and Myla. I am still super curious about Myla and how she affects Katriana as we got glimpses of it but not enough for me.
There were things I definitely learned about the two realms and I am super curious to learn more about Dyson Coleman, a wolf shifter from the Dark Realm. He seems to have his own problems and I really want to more about what he is going through.
I liked Tember and I was sad at what she lost by helping Katriane. I loved when the two went grocery shopping as it was making me laugh at all of Tember's questions.
I definitely want more on Eliza Ploats and Aiden Vander and see how much more of a role they will play in the next book!
For the first book in a series, this story sure packed one heck of a punch! Holy cow!
In this story, we follow five different people, though it's not hard to keep track and the switch is always flawless and easy to follow. Two of these people, we actually met in the author's previous series, though you don't have to read it to understand what's going on. It was just nice to see them again :)
A deal gone wrong sparks a shift in the realms. Everyone can feel it, but no one knows how or why it is happening. Five separate entities. Five separate lives. All linked together by the bonds of fate.
In this story we find out more about Kat, the snarky witch without a coven. We find out what happens to Dyson after his death. And we are also introduced to three others that you can't help but become attached to. One thing you will learn about this author is to never get attached. That's all I'm saying.
This book had me on the edge of my seat from page one. The way everything is so interconnected and how it all ties in together? That just goes to show how amazing the author's brain is. It shows how much thought and time (and probably sweat, tears, and swear words) she puts into telling these amazing tales! You get dragged in, hooked, until you feel like you are actually there. As if you are actually living it! And the end of the book? Talk about an emotional punch to the face!
Definitely 5 out of 5 stars, though I'd give so many more if I could! <3
4.75 stars This is the first book in the Rise of the Realms series and it is one well written story that sucks the reader in from the beginning. The characters are life like and share their points of view throughout the chapters. Each one has a story to tell that connected well with the others in the various realms and at times crossed over. The descriptions are vivid that one cannot help but feel as if he/she has gone into the book as the mind’s eye paints the picture of each scene taking place. This is one unpredictable and engaging storyline that moves quickly and you do not want it to end. It does finish with a cliffhanger that only whets one’s appetite for the next installment. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book... The story is unpredictable. The characters are vivid and colorful, along with sweet, unaware and narcissistic. The author shows a side to the gods of the realms that makes my stomach dance and turn. It broke my heart and started it up again. It dashed my hopes and gave me kept me wishing and full of expectation.
There was so much more than I expected in this novel. There was no place for the story to become stagnate or still. The characters had their separate stories along with crossing over each other's. And the cliffhanger only left me wanting the rest. I cannot wait for the next book.
This was a really interesting book, and really flowed well, as the characters crossed paths, with their actions and decisions deciding the fate of the realms.
The author gave us a variety of backgrounds and personalities, which all clash together in very interesting ways, moving toward the future. I liked that there was a lot of detail given to each of the combinations of people, meaning that there was a lot of depth, making the story very engaging and easy to become part of.
Overall, I felt this was a very excited and well-written book. I cannot wait to see where this series heads, with the future instalments.
ONE INCREDIBLY WILD RIDE!!! Man, oh man! Talk about a force to be reckoned with. All the twists and turns, ups and downs, ins and outs, along with a few glitches and unpredictable events make for one exciting experience. With drama, mystery, danger and suspense that keeps building and tension thickens throughout the entirety. Action packed, heart pounding, pulse racing, smooth flowing, page turning thriller captivates from the start. The characters and scenes are written with such realism it really pulls this bad boy together beautifully. Fischer did a remarkable job bringing this read to life flawlessly. Fantastic job Fischer, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.
I read the Cloven pack ad The Riva pack books first and wanted to come back to this series so I can get the full picture. I enjoyed this book and I lke many of the characters but I will tell you that it took me a little bit to get into the rhythm of the book and the jumping from realm to realm. Once I got into the swing though, it became easier to follow each character. I like the jumping back and forth from character and realm and I can't wait to see hoe it all unfolds in the end and what the crossovers will be. On to book 2!!
This book quickly caught my attention, because from chapter one I felt swept up in the story. All the creatures, from vampires to ghosts, were fun and dynamic, and the characters were well developed and comprehensive. I was originally expecting to see many similarities to other books, and while this book did reflect several supernatural fantasy elements, it set itself apart and truly committed to the world it built.
This story is well written and compelling. There are many players in this layered world. Witches, shifters, angels and fee. The fee seem to be all powerful, and even angels fear to tread where they be. Each character is well thought and well rounded. It's hard to make a choice on who to back. The bad guy is enigmatic, someone who you don't understand his motives and beyond his cruelty, his endgame is yet to be discovered I can't wait to read the next book
Love the characters and how each of their stories links together in unique ways. I also love that one character is a crossover from another series that I've now got to read! I'm left with needing to know what will happen to them all! Book 2 here I come!
There is a lot of world building and characters introduced in this book. Witches, vampires, angels, fee, shifters, time travel, and various realms all come together to create a very complex storyline. It's done well, and I am interested to see what happens, but not so interested that I'll immediately pick up the next book.
Wow!!! I absolutely LOVED this book!!! I can't believe how it ended!!! Major cliffhangers!! Great characters, awesome storyline, such a unique story all tied to one event. You have witches, vampires, shades, angels, and so many others! A must read!!
overall a great read. It included some of my favorites: witches, the Fae(called the Fee in this book), angels and a dragon. It begs the question of what would you do to save those you love? Can you handle the consequences? This is the story of the consequences of a deal with a Fee.
I love this story so much. It seems one of our five may be at the center of the realms being able to cross over one another. This story is a paranormal lovers dream! I am looking forward to reading the next in this series.
I really enjoyed this book! It starts off with a few different threads you get to watch weave together as you get deeper into the story. I really liked the world/realms she created and their various dwellers. I can’t wait to read in and learn more about the witches!
This was interesting and well-written. It told the story of several different characters from their perspective. The writing was masterful in that each time the story switched to another character they drew closer together and their stories started to entwine. I loved it!
This is by far one of the best books I have read . The way she wrote it it form one character to the next , I did not want to put it down . Left me hanging but at the same time wondering what was next . Absolutely a must read !!
I wished this story had been longer because there was so much going on, I couldn’t grasp everything before it was over. I liked the intrigue and mystery. I hated that she was forced (in my opinion) into a decision that had major impact but it certainly set up the rest of the series.
What a beautiful and magical book! The characters are very realistic. The world building was pretty great too. I loved the banter between the characters. It kept things interesting. I am definitely a fan.
Damn now I definitely have to know how all this ends. What happened to Kat, Dyson and Eliza. I definitely enjoyed this book and I can't wait to see what's next.
This book bridges the urban fantasy I am familiar with from this author and true fantasy. And like her earlier series she does it extremely well. Some authors take time to develop their individual voice. D. Fischer's voice shines true from her very first endeavour. Vividly descriptive, lovely prose, great plots and fantastic characters grace every book.
Very good book, I was a little nervous as its not what I usually read but it was really good. Very well written and the emotions were very well described I felt like I knew all of the characters. Not so patiently waiting for the second book.
