Maxwell Hutcheson is a gorgeous Scottish businessman in Edinburgh whose entire life has changed by a woman he calls Lou. She was his paid companion to give him the girlfriend experience, but he ended up with so much more. He wasn't supposed to fall in love, but she came into his life and quickly became his entire world. She was his everything, and now she's gone. She's disappeared, and he's desperate to find her and confess his feelings, but he doesn't know her true identity or how to contact her.

Caitriona Louden's heart is broken after her Inamorta contract is over with Hutch. They were to part ways when their arrangement ended, and she just couldn't handle saying goodbye, so she leaves. Because of him she has a chance at achieving her dreams. He's made everything possible for her, and she will never forget him. She plans to use her final year at Uni as the perfect distraction to not obsess over the man who can never be hers.

Max wants a relationship and a future with Cait, and won't stop until he has her back in his life. They became so much more than either of them ever intended, and he wants it all with her, but will his ex-wife's family ever let him have the happiness he deserves?

Beautiful Ever After by Georgia Cates is the second part of the Beautiful Illusions Duet, and the conclusion to Hutch and Lou's love story. Hutch really brings the fairytale in this book, and gives her the beautiful ever after she's always wanted. I loved how this man adores this woman, and worships the ground she walks on. Swoon, swoon, and swoon some more. I also liked we get more of the characters from the Sin series.

-"From the moment I laid eyes on you, I knew there would be something special between us."

-Only with Lou have I ever known this kind of love. And I'll never tire of the feeling. Because this is home.

-Lou is the only woman in the world who can make me feel this way. The only one who holds my heart in her hand.

-I feel something with Lou that I never felt without her. Complete.

The title of this story truly does sum up what this second part in the duet is all about. A fairy tale between a couple desperate to be together, a nasty villain trying to keep them apart and there is even a castle thrown in ☺

At the end of the first book in this duet everything had turned to shite. The arrangement between Hutch (Max) & Lou reached it’s agreed conclusion but things ended in a way that neither of them expected.

Hutch was completely blind sided by how much of an impact that Lou would have on his heart and his life. He has never felt so deeply for anyone and he knows that has fallen in love with her. There is no way he can not have her in his life, in fact he can’t see how he ever lived without her.

Lou is feeling just as heart broken as Hutch but she is determined to move forward and put what she had with him behind her. It’s so damn hard though. He is everything she ever wanted in a man and falling in love with him was something she couldn’t avoid.

When Hutch wants something, nothing will get in his way and finding Lou becomes his number one priority. He knows that being with her brings huge risk not just with his career but in his personal life – which is the greatest risk of all. When he finds Lou it is a bittersweet reunion that brings more heartache for both of them.

However, the things that shines through the most with this couple is how madly they love each other. This love is how they both find the strength to fight everything that is a threat to them and find their happy ever after.

I absolutely loved this duet. As soon as I began reading this it was all I could think about. I loved the passion between them, the strength of Lou and how Hutch utterly adores her. A very satisfying read!

This book picks up where the last book left off, with two broken hearts, one trying to move on, and one trying to figure out what went wrong.

After being threatened, Caitriona "Lou" Louden abruptly ended her time with Maxwell "Hutch" Hutchenson. Shutting off all communication from him, to avoid future heartache, she's made it difficult for both of them to move on. What is clear from Hutch's POV is he is no longer than man Lou first met via Inamorata. He is a man in love. He is a man who will do whatever he can to get his woman back and make her a permanent part of his life.

The author doesn't make us suffer too long, as this is essentially their love story and I think the cover makes it obvious where the story is leading. Once reunited, the couple waste no time in rekindling the chemistry they've shared. And they prove that they are not some boring missionary couple, testing out new locations and positions to satisfy their urges. So yes, like the last book, there is plenty of sex in this one.

Please, fate. I'm happy. Don't be cruel and ruin this for me.
I want my beautiful ever after.

This story covers a lot of highs and lows in fairly rapid succession, making it a quick read, but at times, I which the pace was slowed down, and the drama drawn out. As expected, Blair (Hutch's sister-in-law) is exactly what I expected her to be. Actually, scratch that, she is worse. The woman is certifiable. And she has gone to great lengths to get what she wants. So, given her long term plan, I was surprised how quickly this resolved. I won't give any spoilers, but I would have liked more angst here (and this is coming from someone who likes angst in small doses). Don't get me wrong, I love what went down and who took care of things.

"Calvin is my driver so find your own fucking way home."

LOL, slay Lou slay!

Overall, this book tied up all of the loose threads from book one, and delivered a HEA to a couple that thought they were just temporary only months before. If you are a fan of the author, she also includes a number of well-known characters from her other books, which was a sweet treat.

This was the second book in the Beautiful Illusions Duet which was filled with intrigue, suspense and passion that captivated from the beginning and never let up until the very end! Hutch and Lou were meant to be and neither would let anything stand in there way, especially a sister-in-law who THOUGHT she had a right to Hutch. Lou was sassy, fiesty and fearless, she was fighting for the love's of her life, which made me love her even more. Hutch was fighting for what he wanted, a woman that brought him back to life and showed him what love truly meant. This conclusion was a beautiful fairytale kinda love that had me devouring this captivating unconventional love story!

An amazing conclusion for one of the sweetest stories I’ve read. Yes it was a “wee bit” too cliche, still I devoured the book like nothing else. There were too many sappy moments but the ending actually gutted me. Not in the bad way. But extremely good manner. I loved how they had so many kids with another on the way. I’ve got to admit, this is the first book with an age gap that I actually didn’t mind. I’m not a fan of couples with more than 10 year age gap but I hardly minded it in this story.

One of the sweetest romance where the couple managed to stay together through thick and thin. The perfect book for the sappy romantics out there.

Beautiful Ever After is the conclusion to Beautiful Illusions and definitely an amazing duet.

Georgia gives the reader a note on she came to create this duet; unless you are a huge Georgia Cates fan, it will be like you are reading a whole new idea, which technically you are. But I appreciate her honesty and love that she did not hide anything from readers.

On to the book -

Beautiful Ever After gives us the answers we craved from book one and delivers us the HEA we knew was coming. However, Hutch and Lou don't get their HEA easily.

Georgia delivers the angst and drama along with the sexy scenes in this books. Many readers will be grateful that Georgia doesn't keeps us on edge about these two reuniting and boy do they reunite - HOT DAMN!!

But nothing can be that easy - we still have Blair to contend with and she wants her own HEA. While I enjoyed how things turned out, I was hoping this area of things was a bit more angsty or dramatic. As much as Blair has been plotting, I expected things to be more drawn out. Regardless, I still enjoyed it but something I thought we would get more from.

Altogether, this was a great ending to the duet and Georgia delivered it beautifully. For someone that is not a fan of insta-loves or quick romances, I truly loved this one because it never once felt that way. Bravo Georgia!!

I received an arc in exchange for an honest review. Thank you so much Georgia Cates and Candi Kane PR for this opportunity. This was a great end for this duet. I absolutely adore Cait “lou” and Hutch together. It was beautiful seeing what started out as an arrangement turn into beautiful love between two characters. I loved Cait’s character so much, she is so strong and a beautiful person. Hutch was very hot, even for an “old” guy😉 I loved seeing him fall in love with Cait, even after his past. I adored seeing his family and all their interactions. Ava Rose was so cute and it was a lot of fun reading the scenes between Ava and Cait. It just showed what an amazing person Cait really was, she does amazing things for the ones she cares and loves for.

Loved this Duet.

I just loved this couple. Cait needed money for college and decided to be an escort (first and only man to book her was Maxwell) I loved the way this played out. I loved Maxwell just as much. He was so thoughtful and tender. He treated Cait like his queen and it was really beautiful. This couple had their challenges with the past, the present, their family and themselves but it all turned out just right for them. Plenty of steamy scenes along the way. Love this author.

Obrigada.

4.5 You weren’t supposed to fall in love with her Stars

If you are like me you read both book 1 and 2 in rapid succession. Book 1 literally just ends and no matter how hard you swipe your kindle no more pages arrive.. even if you yell at your kindle and shake it … trust me I tried.. don’t be like me.. and just have both books ready to rock. This book picks up exactly where book 1 ends and if its been a bit ( go read the last chapter of book 1 to refresh your mind and your broken heart) . this book hits you in the same placed book 1 hit you in where you are consumed with sadness and heart break. Lou and Hutch somehow are able to be hit with more devastation and hard breaks than you can even imagine. This book is also filled with both characters getting some amazing growth in their characters and the supporting characters get a bit more to their story as well. I could really see this series continuing on with more and more people. We still have loose ends that were never quite tied up but I wanted sooooo much more from this book because of how good it actually became. I loved how strong Lou became because I didn’t see her character coming this far. This book is also filled with the delicious hot sex scenes we have come to expect from the characters and their love is quite endless. The moral of this story is you will fall in love with Hutch and Lou and this authors ability to tell their story.

Beautiful Ever After is the final book in this Duet, and what an incredible ending! I love the writing idea behind this Duet. The ‘story’ fusion is such a clever idea and works so well. A skilful amalgamation of Georgia Cates’ best work. From the fears of loss and regret to the euphoric highs of love reclaimed, Hutch and Lou’s story spans all the wonderful feelings you need in a beautiful ever after. The writing is stellar and truly breathtaking. This story is all about the strength of the love between Hutch and Lou and fighting against those who want to keep them apart.

Beautiful Ever After tugs at the heart strings and is a fitting conclusion to Hutch and Lou’s love story. To say I loved this duet is a total understatement! They were utter perfection. Sexy, beautiful, angsty with a few little unexpected twists. Superbly written with an epic storyline. This book consumes you and pulls every emotion out of you. Georgia Cates has created a fantastic story that is not only unique but truly beautiful, passionate and unforgettable.

The first book was so much better and I read it almost in one sitting, this one wasn't working out for me..nothing special as reason why I just don't even see the need to this be a duet. Could easily be one book. If you are fan of Georgia Cates and have read at least one of her books before I'm sure you will enjoy in this one.

Great ending to this duet. I loved seeing the Breckenridges in this one and it was quite satisfying how they took care of Blair. Love the "Bella Mafia" thing.

I look forward to another Georgia Cates book.

“I love you, Caitriona Brooke Louden. My bonnie Lou. Will you marry me?” From the Sin Series "Bonnie Bleu" but this time "bonnie Lou".

I stand and she jumps into my arms, wrapping her body around mine.

She is my beautiful ever after.

4.0 4.5 stars! Beautiful Ever After (Beautiful Illusions Duet #2) picked up where Eighty-One Nights
(Beautiful Illusions Duet #1) left off, without skipping a beat. The end of the first book ended with one heck of a cliffhanger. I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen with Lou and Hutch. As the title implies, it’s a beautiful ever after, although it wasn’t an easy path for Hutch and Lou. For starters, Hutch needed to learn Lou’s real name and recognize his feelings for her. The ending was heartfelt and beautiful. One-click worthy.

Absolutely loved this duet! A wonderful plot with experiences of characters and locations as a nod to the authors other existing series that’s just enough to make a reader want to read more about the other series but no so much that it takes away from the duet.

Loved the conflict, the emotion and best of all...their beautiful ever after.

Currently one of my personal top 5 reads for 2019 but don’t start with Beautiful Ever After, you NEED Eighty-One Night.

4 “Beautiful Ever After” stars!

Eighty-One Nights made us fall in love with Lou and Hutch and then broke our hearts when they were torn apart. Beautiful Ever After throws us back in their lives with Lou gone and Hutch going crazy over the situation. He’ll do anything to find her and figure out what went wrong. Once he does, he refuses to let her slip through his fingers again and has every intention of making her his forever.
I was afraid to love her. Now, I’m more afraid to lose her.

Thankfully, though Lou and Hutch are apart in the beginning, we do not have to wait long for this couple to find their way back to each other, and they dive into an all-consuming love. From friends to lovers and everything in between, these two share a special connection. I felt it in the first book and they continue to mean the world to each other in this book. They love unconditionally and I never questioned it. Hutch and Lou were open with their feelings and their emotions filled me as if they were my own.
Please, fate. I'm happy. Don't be cruel and ruin this for me.

I want my beautiful ever after.

They also bring a whole lot of steam to the story but it’s the sweet, swoony moments that really draw you in and make you believe in their love. It’s intense, passionate, and everything.

Lou and Hutch’s ever after is truly beautiful but there is a whole lot of pain and heartache before they can grasp it. Not only do they face devastating situations that will pull at your heartstrings and make you cry, there are also people who do not want to see this beautiful family together. There are lies and trickery that threaten to ruin what they share and shocking twists that change everything. We get a little bit of suspense and angst, and the drama is well done. And though the conflict wraps up rather quickly when things are set into motion, I did enjoy the way things unfolded.
“The whole thing is truly amazing when you think about it. This is our love story, our fairy tale, our destiny. This was fated from the moment your eyes met mine.”
“We do have one hell of a love story, don’t we?”
“Yes. A love story with a beautiful ever after.”

That quote sums it all up. The Beautiful Illusions Duet gives us a unconventional yet wonderful love story with a beautiful ever after, and I adored it!

According to Caitriona Louden, especially after her experience as an Inamorta paid female companion, love is a beautiful illusion…it’s nothing but a fairytale, something fictitious and impossible, which means that regardless of the validity of feelings, the lie is easier to believe than the truth, no matter how much one or both parties wish things were different.

Maxwell Hutcheson wanted the girlfriend experience, but he thought he wanted one with an expiration date and that’s exactly what he gets with his arrangement with Caitriona Louden. What Hutch realizes too late, though, is that he wants to prove to Lou that a beautiful ever after is possible, but he definitely has his work cut out for him, not only when it comes to finding Lou but also when it comes to keeping her deceased wife’s family from causing anymore trouble for the love of his life and his little Ava Rose.

The second part of Hutch and Lou’s story begins right after their contract expires and everything has gone to heck due to Lou’s need to leave without having to say goodbye to the man she loves. If she would have stayed just a bit longer and talked to Hutch, a lot of things would have occurred differently, but I feel like she needed to flee in order for Hutch to prove to her just how much he loves her and wants her to be his forever.

Lou definitely comes into her own in Beautiful Ever After; I loved watching her take care of the ones she loves by beating her nemesis at her own duplicitous games. Lou proves just how strong of a woman she is and how deeply her feelings are for her gorgeous guy and his beautiful little girl and the fact that she carries herself with grace and poise, even when she’s terrified of what could happen proves that she has what it takes to come out of this harrowing situation with everything that she wants and deserves.

Hutch’s reactions and actions with everything that happens in this book proves exactly the kind of man he is and just how invested he is in making Lou his in every sense of the word.

I loved the cameos of some of my absolute favorite Georgia Cates’ characters, and the fact that Lou sought them out to help her fix the difficult situation she and Hutch find themselves in is fitting since Bleu and her ‘Bella Mafia’ know how to get things done and take care of problematic people.

I knew headed into the conclusion of Hutch and Lou’s story that Hutch’s deceased wife’s family would be an albatross around their necks, but they were more meddlesome, at least one of them, than I thought they would be, but thankfully, Hutch and Lou will do whatever it takes to protect what they’ve built and everything they planned to be.

Pure perfection! This book was so much more than I expected! ! I couldn’t wait for the conclusion of Hutch and Lou’s story and to be honest I didn’t think that second part of this duet would turn out to be even better than I thought. But Georgia Cates outdone herself and Beautiful Ever After filled my heart with all possible feelings - sadness, loss, grieve, but also anger, determination and hope. And the whole long path I went along with the characters found its finish in a happy place- beautiful ever after.

Hutch and Lou were at a crossroads. Blackmail and manipulation splits the lovers apart and separation hurts both of them. But Hutch is determined to get his woman back, because during her absence he realized that he can’t live without her. Unfortunately the tragedy brings them back together. But in the new unpleasant circumstances they both become determined to overcome obstacles and fight for their happily ever after and the family they want to create together.

I can’t describe how much I love this duet. Georgia Cates has created an amazing story that shows us that a true strong feeling will overcome all obstacles. I was very pleased when Hutch finally pulled his head out of the ass and admitted to himself that the feeling he has for Lou is love. I was melting over the fact that he finally allowed himself a real bond with little Ava Rose. I also admired that he found the balls and admitted to his family in what circumstances he met Lou. And Lou... Where at the beginning of the book my heart was crying for her, with each page I gained more and more respect and admiration for her. The badass side she showed made me feel like getting up and shouting 'You go, girl!'. Although Beautiful Ever After has sad and heartbreaking moments, it’s still full of steam and indescribable passion. No wonder - the chemistry that connects Lou and Hutch is simply electrifying.

This duet is definitely a must read! Georgia Cates wrote a beautiful story that gives hope and warms the heart. Plus it has a sexy Scotsman with drool-worthy accent ;) Book boyfriend material for sure! Highly recommend!

Georgia Cates gave me another beautiful, dreamy and fairytale romance in Beautiful Ever After. This is the sensational conclusion of Hutch and Lou's epic love story.

Imagine your favorite fairy tale got a sexy, steamy and dirty twist with modern outlook. And you will have Beautiful Ever After. Max aka Hutch has become ever more alluring and delectable in this book. Like a fine wine, he will age and become even better. He is the dark night who protects his love and also has his wicked ways with her. Lou aka Cait is a princess with all her beauty, purity, compassion and intelligence. But she is no damsel in distress. She took the control of her own fate and I have utter respect for the risks she took for her love. She is a dangerous woman in that way. A great fairy tale must have a vile despicable villain and I can tell you this character created so much fury inside me. You will get loyal friends, cruel conspiracies and a wedding fit for royalties. And a big happily ever after to make you smile like crazy.

Georgia Cates has a sincere and spectacular way of storytelling. My heart was breaking for the couple and then I was so happy with the ending. She made me feel the whole range of emotions. This is really a complete package. The physical and mental connection was so thrilling to read about. The writing is mesmerizing like old classics but she put steamy and sexy in that. I loved the twists in the tales those added an element of adventure and thrill. She writes some of the most poetic sex scenes I have ever read. I enjoyed each and every character. I loved the angsty, sweet, delicious and mindblowing love story!

After finishing Eighty-One Nights I couldn’t wait to see just how Max and Cait would get their HEA with all obstacles in their way and I have to tell you, the wait was worth it. The feels were real, there were a couple of twists that I hadn’t seen coming and I loved how everything worked out for Max and Cait.

I have to admit that the way things start off were a little shaky and emotional on all fronts and I did wonder just what would be the catalyst that would finally bring Max and Cait back together and while it definitely was not what I was hoping for, all that mattered was that they reconnected and I really enjoyed watching as they fought for the happiness that they wanted. And as for that main obstacle in their way...the whole feeling the need to gut said person with a spoon was strong, but I must admit that the way that obstacle was taken cared of was pretty awesome. I definitely didn’t see that one coming, but totally enjoyed it.

The title of the book is quite apt, Max and Cait definitely gained a Beautiful Ever After and they truly deserved it after all they went through in their lives, though after reading that epilogue, it’s safe to say that they will have a very, very busy one!

Lots of romance and drama for the conclusion of this duet.

It still has this breezing writing style that makes the reading go by quickly. The events, though, are quite dramatic. I felt so sorry for Cait/Lou, her suffering is real and terrible.

At least, the passion between she and Hutch is back and infused with a touching love. It’s quite intense.

The enemies surround this forbidden couple, but family also embraces them. I really liked how close they become, the huge change in his views on commitment, and the hot passion they exude.

Even though the writing style makes it a bit superficial at times, I enjoyed the story itself as the characters fall in love, cry over painful losses, and fight for their union. That fights takes a turn that is most surprising as it involves dubious plans and strategies, and the right kind of powerful women.

Entertaining twist, no doubt. On the other hand, I was surprised at the sudden change of Lou’s attitude. It seemed a bit out of character, scary even, though it worked wonders to solve a certain ugly issue. I liked her smart moves, but the violent ones not so much. However, the ending is quite good as there’s lots of happiness and family warmth.

That and the tragedy at the beginning were my favourite parts to read.

5 Star review of Beautiful  Ever After (Beautiful Illusions Duet #2) by Georgia Cates

Georgia Cates is a relatively new author to me. I was intrigued when I read the blurb for this duet.

Maxwell (Hutch) Hutcheson is reeling from the fact that Caitriona Louden walked away from him after their contract ended.

Neither of them had expected the connection between them and yet the flames burned bright between them. I was drawn to both these characters and Ms.Cates style of writing drew me in and kept me entertained throughout the story.

Despite her feelings for Hutch, Lou is determined to move on. However, she doesn’t count on Hutch’s determination and yet he cannot help wanting to find her.

This story is all about the strength of the love between Hutch and Lou and fighting against those who would keep them apart.

I admired Lou’s strength and determination and the love that Hutch has for her was heart warming.

Beautiful Ever After will tug at your heart strings and in my opinion is a fitting conclusion to the love story that is Hutch and Lou.

Okay, so this was better than the first. I like Lou and Hutch together. I like how supportive his family was when it came to their relationship.

But I'm also wondering where random stuff just popped in. Hutch has done illegal stuff for Thomas? He also has ties to the female Scottish mafia? It just seemed to come from left field.

Blair was diabolical and her involvement in dissolving Hutch and Mina's marriage showed how far she was willing to go to get Hutch.

There were a few loose ends: what happened to Cora and her psycho son? What happened between Rachel and Claud? Lou's friendship seemed very transactional. In the first book, Lou and Rachel were close because they were roommates but also Rachel was the one who introduced her into escorting. In this book, it seems like Rachel is not as useful as she was in the first book so she's ditched for the Belle Mafia women. Don't get me wrong, Rachel is still there but she seems like an afterthought especially after the miscarriage.

Beautiful Ever After is basically a Scottish Cinderella story coming to life. And I'm a sucker for fairytales.

Cait and Max's relationship is not an easy one. It's actually a very unusual one. But that just makes it even more beautiful and make you cross your fingers for them until they cramp up.

They already had some bumps on the road, but in this conclusion of their story, things make it almost impossible for them to be together.
They experience heartbreak, loss, and even after that they hold onto each other and their love, yet it seems like there's no way they can be together without losing one thing or another.

Can a lonely girl who's never felt loved in all her life before and a man who has been deceived and lied to get their HEA?
Spoiler. Yes, they can!

What a great ending for this duet. You really have to read the first book to understand more about this beautiful love story.
The book starts where it left on the first instalment and although there isn't that much angst overall, I enjoyed both points of view and how they tried to cope with being separated and maybe not having a chance for a future together. The hot intimate moments show again how much two people can go mad about one another when in love.
A fast-paced read with ups and downs as any great love stories between two beautiful broken souls that fate brings them together and they will have to fight for their happily ever after because the heart wants what it wants.

Beautiful Ever After was the perfect conclusion to this duet. I loved seeing Hutch and Lou finally stick up for and fight for their love and relationship. The best part of this book was seeing Lou come out of her shell and really stick it to Blair.

Seeing some favorite characters from Georgia's other series was also a treat. I loved how they were willing to help, no questions asked.

This is fun, fast paced duet and perfect to read on the weekends or those vacations that are coming up. I adore Georgia and her writing and I'm so glad she's back.

Fast paced quick read, I found this installment more passionate, intimate and sensuous.
This is book 2 in the Beautiful Illusions duet, so make sure your read book 1 Eight One Nights first as it starts where Book 1 ends.
That said, this felt like the conclusion of the series.
Revelations are revealed and all the lose ends are tied up nicely.
As an added bonus a few surprise visits from prior characters make an appearance.
