On the rocky, atmospheric coast of Cape Van Buren, Maine...
After a decade of making it on her own, Irish immigrant, Blayne MacCaffrey is determined to return to her homeland and make peace with her father, who hasn’t forgiven her for deserting the family—for what she believed was true love. Her ticket home is in the bag with the launch of the Archer Conservation Park of Cape Van Buren. Only she must partner with the devastatingly sexy heartbreaker who first awakened her desires and unequivocally destroyed her dreams years ago.
Believing that family duty comes before everything else, James Astor made the biggest mistake of his life and had abandoned the only woman he'd ever loved. But after a decade of lucrative business transactions and empty relationships, he returns to the Cape, determined to show Blayne how perfect they are together and why he’s worth falling in love with all over again.
A second chance at first love is a dream neither can bear to lose again. With a past marred by painful mistakes, can they find the courage to forgive and fight for love? Or are these two souls destined to repeat history?
I write single title contemporary romance novels, promising an emotional ride on heated sheets. As a member of several writing groups, I believe the best route to success is to never stop learning.
I've had a lifelong love affair with peanut butter -- the only two things coming close in the battle for my affections are gorgeous heels, and maybe Gerard Butler...or was it David Gandy? Who am I kidding? My true loves are my husband and two children who have survived my SEA's (spontaneous explosions of affection) and lived to tell the tale.
I've been reading romance long before I should have and can’t think of anything better than to fill my life with the promise of happily-ever-afters.
Honor On The Cape is the second book in the Cape Van Buren Series by MK Meredith. It is a beautiful contemporary romance that is packed full of emotion, spice and romance. Having read the first book, I was really happy to find that this book was available, and I hoped that it would grab me as much as book one did. I really enjoyed this book and it is every bit as good as the first. Blayne and James (Jay) were such great characters. I was intrigued by their situation right from the beginning and had to find out how their story would end. They have history, a painful past that has affected them both over the years. Now they find that they will be working on the same project together. Will they be able to put their pain and past aside to get the job done? Or will memories of the past be too hard to deal with? Will old feelings resurface and the spark they once shared be reignited? Will Blayne return home, or will she find a reason to stay? You really should read this wonderful story and find out all the wonderful details for yourself! You are sure to love it too! As with the previous book- I loved everything about this- from the amazing story that is so full of feeling; to the wonderful characters that stole my heart and drew me into their story; to the beautiful setting in which the author placed her story and which the author described in such detail that I was transported there alongside the characters; and then add the authors bold, vivid and sexy style and I was completely captivated and couldn’t put the book down. I will definitely be reading her next book!

This story is very emotional.I cried more than once while reading this story.Jamie is my new book boyfriend.Sigh! It was fun seeing Larkin and Ryker again.:)The moose scene was so funny.LOL!And the strip poker game.I'm looking forward Claire's book.i bet she will be together with Mitch.i really recommend this series! <3
Oh! I just love Blayne! She's a feisty Irish woman who crossed the ocean for love only to be abandoned in a foreign country, but nothing stops her from thriving, not even when her one true love comes back to town. Jamie to Blayne and Jay to everyone else had been raised with a very loyal sense of duty, but even the best of intentions can be the biggest of mistakes. And now he's back in town for a second chance at his one true love. I think you'll enjoy the emotional ride of Honor on the Cape, and just wait until you meet Blayne's dad Noah and her siblings! We're definitely going to want more from them...maybe in Ireland! Oh! And when you sign up for my mailing list, you can read Honor on the Cape for FREE! Ten years ago Blayne MacCaffrey and James Astor were so in love, but then he deserted her and left her heartbroken. Now though, the pair are reunited to help in the launch of the Archer Conservation Park of Cape Van Buren, but working together isn't easy for Blayne, especially when it's so hard for her to forgive James for what he did in the past. Will Blayne let down her guard and let James back into her life, or will their second chance at happy ever after never happen?
There are so many words I could use to describe how enchanted I was with this second book in Ms. Meredith's On the Cape series, but the words that first came to mind when I finished this story were: absolutely amazing, emotionally animating and unputdownable. Really, it took me less than two hours to finish this book, which opened brilliantly as Blayne is determined to prove she's the best person for helping to launch the Archer Conservation Park and organizing everything that needs to be done. Will she be able to prove she's up to the task? However, it was from the moment where the hero and heroine come face-to-face for the first time where this story gets really interesting, as Blayne can't believe she's forced to work alongside the man that broke her heart. Will she be able to work alongside Jamie in order to help her best friend achieve her dream?
As for the dialogue, it was the perfect combination of intense moments due to the main characters back stories and their history and teasing banter that had me loving that Blayne doesn't make things easy for Jamie no matter how hard he works to win her back. Moreover, the heroine is resilient and courageous when it comes to her dealings with Jamie in order to get what she wants and what she wants is for him to bow out of the project. Will she get her way? I also liked how determined she was to ignore the intense chemistry she still has with Jamie because he hurt her badly in the past and it isn't easy for her to forgive him. Yet, what I liked most of all about the heroine was her determination to make things right with her family after what happened between her and her father.
While the hero, he's confident, smart, isn't afraid to remind the heroine of the past and how good they were together, and I liked how determined he was to win the heroine back. I also liked the friendship both the hero and heroine share with the secondary characters because they want the pair to be happy. Then again, sound advice is always good when needed and these two definitely need it at times. Yet, what I liked most of all about the hero was how he proved to the heroine that she is the most important person in his life, which he does with the ideas he has for their future.
Overall, Ms. Meredith has penned a must read book in this story where the chemistry between this couple was off-the-charts and spills over onto the pages in explosively hot sex scenes that prove how hard it is for these two to keep their hands off each other; and the ending had me loving both the main characters determination to make things right between them because they deserve a second chance at happy ever after. However, it was the epilogue that wrapped this story up brilliantly because of what the hero does for the heroine to have everyone she loves present for a very special moment. I would recommend Honor on the Cape by MK Meredith, if you love contemporary romance, the second chance romance trope, or books by authors Catherine Bybee, Marina Adair, Jill Sanders and Kimberly Kincaid.
After the intensity of the first story in this series, Love on the Cape, (which I loved by the way) it was interesting to see a completely different type of intensity in Honor on the Cape. Blayne and Jamie (Jay) are such proud people, each with their own definition of what is the right thing to do. It’s obvious, even after a decade apart, that their love is still going strong, even if it’s been battered a bit by their actions. In reading their romance, feeling the pain they’ve put each other through I’m reminded of something my grandfather said that always stuck with me. “Be careful of the words you use in anger – they can be forgiven but they can never be unsaid.” Jamie made a mistake, a huge mistake, when he put his perception of his parents’ life and love onto himself and the young girl he’d fallen for. He realized that mistake almost immediately, but talked himself out of doing anything to fix things based on the words they’d tossed at each other in anger. Now, a decade later, older, probably not a lot wiser but determined, Jamie has returned to the Cape to win his love back no matter what she says or does to deny him. Trouble is, Jamie still doesn’t “get” Blayne and until he does he’s going to keep on making those silly mistakes, taking two steps forward and three steps back.
Blayne had every right to her anger over Jamie’s actions ten years ago. She’d left the land of her birth, her family, the angry words of her father to never return still ringing in her ears. And what had Jamie done? The first chance to add another success to his family name and he was off… without asking her to come with him, to help him or be at his side while he went through with these plans. He shut her out just as her father had. She’d lost everything. Her family, the young man she’d loved, still loved to be truthful… and he’d left her alone, totally alone in a new country. Yes, Jamie had a lot to answer for, yet his actions had made her into the woman she was today. Successful if mistrusting of any relationship. Her friendship with Larkin shows her compassion and her ability to still love. But when Ryker and Larkin did something behind her back that brought Jamie back and it seemed questioned her ability to follow through on their shared dream, again something broke. And Jamie would be the one to pay for that, again.
I loved Jamie and Blayne’s story. It’s obvious that they belong together. Yet they each still have some growing to do, some understanding of the other side and maybe having all the facts straight before making a life changing decision. I hurt for them, laughed with them and kept my fingers crossed throughout that they’d find their way back to happiness and more once again. It was enjoyable to also see the continuing life of Larkin and Ryker moving along splendidly, as well as all the other now old friends from this series. Secondary characters can make a story, a series come alive and be truly believable and these people certainly are a lively crew. Now, I get to wait for Claire’s story, Cherish on the Cape, due out later this year. I had a blast with this one and would happily recommend it to any Romance reader who loves those deep stories, a love that never dies, interesting characters and a believable story. This is why I read Romance.

Blayne MacCaffrey and James Astor were meant to be together, but that was 10 years ago, before he left her in a country she didn't know, with a broken heart, to make her own way. Blayne knows she has to make a name for herself, or she'll never be able to return home after her own father accused her of causing the family dishonor. When she's asked to take over the launching of the Archer Conservation Park in Cape Van Buren, she knows this is the very break she's been waiting for that will bridge the chasm between her and her father. However, when James is asked by Ryker Van Buren to help with the launch, she refuses to fall for his charms again or let him stand in the way of her return to Ireland and the family she's missed for so many years. But James doesn't see this as a finish to the relationship he walked away from 10 years ago when he made the biggest mistake of his life. Instead, it's the chance he's been looking for and the challenge he is willing to take on to try to win her back. Will it mean their happy ever after, or will honor remain elusive for both of them.
This was so much more than a second chance love story. It was a story of determination and hard work. It was a story defining the importance of family, especially in the most difficult of times. It was also a sweet, mesmerizing and sizzling hot. It also gutted me more than once. It was one of those stories that made me want to reach into it and shake some sense into these star-crossed lovers. The heroine was strong even when it broke her to be so. The hero was determined with a healthy dose of doubt. The background characters were a fantastic and important supporting cast of characters who not only added to the humor but the suspense and drama of the situation. And the end was not as cut an dried as expected, keeping me on the edge of my seat until the very last word.
As expected, the author's words had me in tears and laughing out loud. She has a way of blending emotions and words and creating a story that captures the heart. Her characters are complex and their stories fit together like a puzzle that needs to be worked out before the book can be closed. They always involve more than a single venue, always involving the entire town. The rivalries she designs are comical and so important to the dynamics of the groups of characters and the story. She makes me want to live in this tight knit community. Bravo, Ms Meredith. You deserve all of the recognition you receive for this story. And I'm beyond excited for the next one!
Honor on the Cape by MK Meredith is the second book in her Cape van Buren Series, and what a great follow up! Following the story of Blayne MacCaffrey and James Astor, early on the reader can see just how palpable the chemistry is between these two, and yet life gets in the way of them having their happy ever after. More than 10 years goes by before their paths will cross again. Blayne is doing everything in her power to rebuild the relationship between her and her father, for the dishonor she caused so many years ago, and going to Cape van Buren, Maine is the perfect way to rebuild her relationship with him. Being asked to launch the Archer Conservation Park is the opportunity of a lifetime, until she sees that she will be launching it with James. What Blayne doesn’t see with James is that he is wanting her back, knowing that walking away from her the first time was the biggest mistake of his life. Waving the challenge of gaining her love back in his face, James is willing to risk everything to get her back in his life permanently again. But can Blayne trust his words, or will he just leave her again with nothing like he did the last time? She is working so hard to rebuild her life with her parents that James is going to have to go the distance to gain not only her trust but that of her parents as well. Is James in this for the long haul or just for a stroll down memory lane between the sheets? This story is so much more than a second chance romance, more than just two people both wanting something to work but life and fate interfering. This story is all about learning to trust your instincts about a person who has held your heart for years. Meredith is a new to me author, and I am so happy that I picked this story up. I highly recommend reading this book in series order, so the story is given time to grow and flourish as Meredith wrote it to. If you are looking for a new author to follow, or just a great book about finding love again in the most unlikely place than this is the book and author for you.
Honor on the Cape: an on Cape novel (Cape Van Buren Book 2) by MK Meredith is the second book in her Cape Van Buren series. This series can be read as a stand-alone but I highly recommend reading all of the books in this series to get the full enrichment of this series. I enjoyed this story by this author. This is a second chance story that is heartwarming and will pull at your heartstrings in parts. I enjoy this author's writing skills as she has the ability to pull you right into the story with ease. One of the my favorite things about his author is how she can pull at my heartstrings and leave me wanting more from these characters. Her characters are both connectable and true to life. They took me on an emotional roller coaster ride of various emotions. This is the story of Blayne and James. Ten years ago he left her in a country by herself with a broken heart. She knows that she needs to make good for herself so that when she returns home she won't be accused of dishonoring her family. What will happen when she is offered a job that will give her honor to herself and her family? When James is asked to help her at her new job, will she fall for him all over again? He knows that he never should have left her but he is determined not to let that affect him and getting her back. Will her honor be restored? Is there a HEA in their future? I enjoyed both of these characters. Blayne is such a strong woman that I felt compassion for her. She was just broken by him but yet she managed to do what she needed to do. I wasn't sure what to think of James in the beginning because he just left her with nothing and no one not to mention he crushed her. I did enjoy his determination in doing what was right. The secondary characters are supportive that added suspense and laughter to this story. I enjoyed them for sure. I highly recommend this story. Find out if Blayne and James will find their HEA or if fate has something else in store for them.
“There’s no honor in it, Blayne. Leavin’ the way ya are.”
This is the second book in the On the Cape series from MK Meredith. I have read the first book in the series but don’t think it is necessary to read it before this one. It could stand on its own well. I would recommend it if you enjoy series though, both are great books. I enjoy the way hat MK Meredith writes her characters with such emotion and life. They really pop off the page and become a part of your life while you are reading. With that said, the one reason I am marking it at four stars is because I did find that the book dragged in a few places, as if things could be omitted and I wouldn’t mind. I kept reading because I enjoyed the characters, especially Blayne. I knew in the end it would be worth it to see how this turned out.
This is the story of Blayne MacCaffrey and James Astor. Blayne left her home country of Ireland ten years ago. She moved across oceans to be with what she thought was the love of her life. In doing so she has gained nothing but dishonor from her family. She finally gets a chance to return home and make things right, for her work. One catch, she happens to be working with the man, James, who broke her heart all those years before.
“Her heart ached at the sight of him. Why was he here, now, after all this time?” Will the two be able to come together and work through the past? Can Blayne gain the honor she seeks from her father once more? Can the two face the obstacles that life throws at them and work towards a future happily ever after?
I will definitely be on the lookout for the next book and want to continue with the series.
“Every hope and dream that she had ever dared to have flashed through her mind. Was this really happening?”
“He may be a selfish bastard, and he never backed down from a challenge, but Blayne MacCaffrey belonged to him. She made him the man he always worked so hard to prove he was to everyone else.”
The Technical Stuff: This book has both cursing (including many f-bombs) and explicit sex. If those things will bother you, you should skip this one. Technically this is the second book in the Cape Van Buren series, and while the first book is amazing and should be read because of that, you do not have to have read the first book to enjoy this one.
Honor On The Cape is a second chance love story that is filled with humor, sexiness, and emotions. While Honor doesn't quite hit the emotional level that Love On The Cape did, there are still moments that tugged at the heart strings. I really liked Blayne's personality and how strong she was both physically and mentally, but I also loved that the way that she softened around Jamie, how she was able to be vulnerable with him without looking or acting weak. And Jamie was also really great, even if he was a little bit of a blind fool at times. His reason for leaving Blayne was weak and annoying, but I didn't hate him for it and I really wanted he and Blayne to get their stuff together to get to their happily ever after. His Grand Gesture in the epilogue was romantic and perfect.
Although the love story was really great, some of the best parts of this book involved side-characters. Specifically when Blayne interacted with Larkin and Claire. The trio is a highly unlikely group of friends, but they're also really perfect together. There was a lot of foreshadowing for Claire's book, and I cannot wait to see her well-deserved happily ever after fleshed out. But there were other side characters that were fabulous, too: Ryker remained grumpy-but-lovable, Maxine and the Mavens were feisty as ever, and Jamie's mother was amazing – I absolutely adored her.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good second chance romance story with a lot of sexiness and humor and a seriously kick@$$ heroine.

In Honor on the Cape author MK Meredith takes the reader back to Cape Van Buren and tells the story of Blayne and Jamie. At 18 years old Blayne MacCaffrey meets Jamie Astor in Ireland, falls in love with him and decides to move to America to be with him. This leaves her estranged from her family and living in a new country where she knows nobody, but she has the love of her life so all is right in Blayne’s world. Unfortunately, Jamie feels as if he needs to make a name for himself and prove to his parents that he is worthy of his family name and he abandons Blayne. For ten years the two are separated, until Jamie returns to Cape Van Buren to help with the Archer Conservation Park of Cape Van Buren as a favor to his life long friend, Ryker and his wife Larkin. Blayne is also working on the project as a final hurrah before she returns to Ireland. Blayne has spent the past 10 years trying to forget Jamie and make a place for herself so having him back in the Cape does not make her happy. Can she forgive him for leaving her when she needed him most? Can Jamie make Blayne remember the love they once shared? This was such a good story, it had all the feels you look for in a romance novel, not to mention two strong lead characters and an assortment of secondary characters that feel like long time friends. And let’s not forget there is also Grandma Max’s moonshine. It was great reading about the characters from the first book in the Cape Van Buren series, especially Ryker, Larkin, Claire and Maxine. While this is part of a series it can definitely be read as a standalone.
Honor and familial duty are still bonds that connect Blayne McCafferty and Jamie Astor. It was familial duty and the need to honor his surname that drove Jamie to abandon his love Blayne in Cape Van Buren 10 years ago, leaving the new Irish immigrant to fend her way in a new country very much alone. And it is now Blayne who feels the familial duty to head back home to Ireland, a successful businesswoman whose achievements can bring honor to her family while she repairs the rift she created by leaving dramatically with Jamie all those years ago. But when Jamie returns to the Cape to win Blayne back, can he convince Blayne he will stay with her? Or will Blayne return home to the Old Sod? What bonds are stronger - love or honor? What emotion is stronger - fear or comfort?
And so MK Meredith immerses us once again into the world of Cape Van Buren, where old secrets, new love and Maxine Van Buren’s moonshine mixes together for a delectable treat for contemporary romance aficionados! Jamie is one swoon-worthy hero - wealthy, handsome and now mature enough to realize he has only one true love and soulmate. He now realizes his mistake of leaving all those years ago and staying away. But how can anyone not love Blayne, one vintage-loving, roller derby playing kick-ass businesswoman who really had to create her world in the US from nothing. The more I read, the more I wasn’t sure Jamie deserved her! But MK Meredith managed to masterfully bring all elements of the story together to make it one satisfying read. I loved it!
a great read about trying to fix broken relationships. Blayne MacCaffney left her home and family in Ireland for love at 18. ten years later, she is a strong independent woman used to surviving on her own with a broken heart. when her friend Larkin from the previous novel asks her to head a launch of the Archer Conservation Park in Ireland, she jumps at the chance. but when her old lover Jamie decides to join the launch in a partnership, tensions arise and the past resurfaces. will they be able to work together or let the past divide them? a great read. well developed plot. well developed characters such as Blayne with her strengths of an independent woman but with her vulnerabilities of pain underneath. Jay was little strong at first but when his point of view was expressed he was caring underneath. the heartbreak and pain of the ast still affecting the characters ten years later was perfectly written and emotive. the sense of love not being a fairy tale was beautiful and emotive and emphasised the heartbreak. the mystery of what happened keeps you reading and the slow reveal of events was perfectly written in suspense. a great supporting cast of friends like Larkin and Ryker. I loved the visual description of the house against the sea and the trees which was beautifully written. I also liked the colourful paint scenes and the sense of family with the friends. I also loved the landscape of Ireland which was magical. I also adored the addition of the Irish dialect with her father which was a nice touch. overall, a great read and I would give it four stars.
Why do so many writers reunite couples in second-chance stories by having the heroine do something stupid and embarrassing? News flash: It's not cute or funny. Neither are busy-body, PITA friends who can't remember boundaries or with whom their allegiance is supposed to lie. Look, ladies - if a girl wants nothing to do with the jerk who helped alienate her family and then dumped her in a foreign country, then you support HER. You don't try to push her towards him. Friends know their place and wait for someone to work through stuff, they don't force the issue.
So, we have a story with a heroine who is presented as kick-butt and strong, but in reality is weak-willed and lacking in conviction. We have a hero who was an entitled, selfish jerk and is still an entitled, selfish jerk. This makes a couple that have no chance to be interesting to me because the writer couldn't resist dumping random piles of UST every time they were in the same room and the story showed signs of actually getting good. Nope, can't have that. Quick! Mention her nipples and the hero's semi. Or, I know - play strip poker with the douche who steamrolled your life and ignored you for a decade! That sure showed him you don't need him.
Yeah, no. FYI - that's not love. It's called lust. And it's boring. This book relied on cheap feels and diabetes-inducing sweet moments that made me nauseous, and to distract from the lame plot there was, of course, lots of sex. Oh yay. Nope. One and done with this writer.
Honor on the Cape by M.K. Meredith is the second book in her On the Cape series. This is the story of two people that were meant to be together but let some bad choices tear them apart.
Blayne came to America ten years ago following the man she had given her heart. When he walked away she was heartbroken and left without any support in a country that she was unused to. Now she has been chosen to head the launch of the Archer Conservation Park of Cape Van Buren. Seeing this as her opportunity to mend the broken bridges that she left in Ireland when she moved to the U.S., she books a ticket home never knowing what waits for her there.
James made a huge mistake ten years ago when he walked away from Blayne. Now that he finally has a chance to make things right he’s not about to let her get on a plane and lose her forever. He has to make her see that he is worth trusting again, and more importantly loving again. He lost her once and he’s determined not to lose her again.
This book was amazing. The range of emotions that this author is capable of making the audience feel is incredible. There were times I laughed, times I cried, and even a few times raged at the main characters. The writing was compelling and full of depth. The characters themselves were beautifully flaw individuals that had to work through a lot in order to be together. I honestly wish there was a higher rating that a five but I guess that will have to do.
Honor on the Cape: an On the Cape novel (Cape Van Buren Book 2) By MK Meredith 5 Stars
What would you do to make your family happy? Would you leave your one and only love? Would you leave your family behind? MK Meredith asks these questions and spins an amazing tale answering them.
10 years ago, Blayne MacCaffrey followed her heart. Leaving her family behind and causing a rift between her and her father to be with the love of her life, James Astor. James Astor has family obstacles too. These obstacles have James leaving Blayne all alone in a new country by herself. Too proud to flee home, Blayne decides she needs to make something of herself before returning to the family fold. Blayne and James come face to face again when a new job in Cape Van Buren has them working together. Can James get Blayne to forgive him for leaving? Can Blayne open her heart to James once again?
MK Meredith does a fantastic job of hitting every bump on the emotional roller coaster. James was not an easy character to embrace after what he did to Blayne. And while Blayne is a fun, sassy, kick-ass woman, you can tell that something is missing and broken in her. The complexity of the characters and the interaction between them and the sub characters takes keeps the reader engrossed page by page. The story is humorous and very well written. I look forward to reading more from MK Meredith.
Honor on the Cape: an On the Cape novel (Cape Van Buren Book 2) by MK Meredith is the second in her series and this is my first time reading anything by her. I thought that since this was the second book, that I would be lost. I wasn’t, this book can be read as a standalone, but I am going to go back to read the first one. Also, reading this whole series because I really enjoyed it. If you like second chance love stories this is the series for you. There were a few times that I cried for these characters. This is definitely a book that will give you all the feels with no apologies. I love this type of book because you genuinely start caring about these characters and invest emotionally in them hoping to see that they get their happily ever after. James and Blayne were in love a long time ago, but he broke her heart and left her in a country that was not her own. When she left her father was not pleased, so Blayne thinks that she needs to do something to bring her honor back to the family. Just when she is figuring things out James offers her a job. James is regretting what he did to Blayne and now wants her back and he will do anything to get her back. Will James and Blayne finally figure out if they are meant to be? Will Blayne and her father once again be a family? What will happen if everything fails? Find out by reading this amazing series.

This is my second book by this author and after reading the first in this series I had already fallen in love with her writing but after this one I have fallen in love with her. I was really looking forward to this book and after reading it I can not wait for the next in this series, I love Claire and am so glad she is getting her own story.
I just love the atmosphere this author has built around Cape Van Buren...I want to move there, I want to meet all of these characters and especially Maxine and the North Cove Mavens..She is one of my favorite parts of both of these books.
Blayne and Jaime’s story is one of heartbreak and finding their way through all of the anger...She gave up everything for him, yet he left the minute an opportunity presented itself. All she wants to do now after all these years is go home and make things right with her da, but she feels like she needs to be worthy of his forgiveness. When Jaime returns to work on a project that they have been teamed up on can they find their way through everything that has happened, can she ever forgive him? Will she go home or find her heart on the cape?
I recommend this author and these books highly. She has an awesome writing style and her books flow beautifully...I loved it and will be one of the first in line for the next.
Honor on the cape by M.K Meredith is a book about second chances and first loves, the decision that are made can have a knock on affect through your whole life.
This is the second book in this series and follows the story of Blayne and James and their story of love, lost, disappointment and then love reborn. Blayne gave up a lot to make her way to the Cape to follow her first love but it ended in disappointment trying to recover from such a brutal rejection left scars on her heart, but when she has to work the person she who caused those scars will she survive or will they discover more of themselves in the end.
James or Jay has been just surviving all these years, ever since he let the one truly special person in his life go, he over the years has tried to make connections but nothing has ever felt right than with Blayne. But will a new job spark some fresh feelings with the one girl who truly got away you will have to read the story to find out.
I love the way the author writes deep and meaningful characters with intriguing storylines and twists. This fast pace story will have you on a rollercoaster of emotions and wanting you to read and discover more as you go along.
This is not the first book I have read by this author and certainly won’t be the last, can’t wait for the next in the series.
Honor on the Cape is the second book in M.K. Meredith’s Cape Van Buren’s series. I have been waiting for it for a long time … since I finished the first book and was wondering who would be the lead in the next one! I fell in love with her writing when rooting for Larkin and Ryker and getting pulled in by their friends! Honor on the Cape is the story of Blayne MacCaffrey (Larkin’s best friend) and James “Jamie” Astor (Ryker’s friend) and do those two have a shared history … they were in love ten years ago and James got Blayne to leave her beloved Ireland and her family to join him in the US and then … he broke her heart … being the proud Irish gal, she could not just pick it up and go back home, she needed to prove to herself (and her dad) that she is not a university drop out and she has made something of herself …. Jamie on the other hand has realized that nothing has been worth losing Blayne so he is determined to get her back. Honor on the Cape is a beautiful story of second chances … I laughed and I cried and I got upset and I was keeping my fingers crossed and above all, I enjoyed the ride! What a rollercoaster! I cannot wait for Claire’s story! I can foresee some hefty fireworks! I hope the writer will not keep us waiting too long!
Honor on the Cape by M.K. Meredith is another 5-star read! This is the second book in her Cape Van Buren series, I have been waiting to read this story since I finished the first book, Love on the Cape. I would suggest reading this series in order as this book follows where the first one leaves off and this way no detail will be left out which will enhance your reading experience. This book has everything I loved about the first book, it has the same great detail, the amazing characters that are so easy to connect and relate too, the original storyline and of course the best part is we get more of Maxine’s crazy antics, which was definitely an added bonus!
Book two follows Blayne, one of my favorite characters of this series. She’s such a strong character, she’s feisty, honest, prideful and so caring. She’s the type of friend that any girl would be lucky to have, and I couldn’t be happier with how her story played out! I would definitely recommend this series to anyone looking for their next romance read, and I look forward to reading Claire’s story once released!
Honor on the Cape is the second of MK Meredith’s Cape Van Buren novels that I have read. This book focusses on Irish born Blayne McCaffrey who was enticed to America by her boyfriend Jamie. Jamie left her to pursue his family company’s commitments in Europe and she had to build a life for herself in a strange country. 10 years later, just as she is preparing to return to Ireland, Jamie re appears in her life and throws everything into chaos. She still feels that searing passion for him but should she let herself give in to it? Jamie is determined to win her over, but will she forgive him the past transgressions so easily? I really like the way this author creates her characters and the setting she gives for her stories is stunning. I can see myself on the windswept Maine coast surrounded by all the fabulous characters that populate her books. I liked the fact that characters from previous novels also feature as minor characters in this one. I loved that Blayne came from a town I am familiar with in West Cork. The dialogue between her and her father brought back memories for me. Definitely a fab book to escape into after a busy day. Highly recommended series.
Blayne MacCaffrey fell in love with James Astor years ago. At just 18yrs old and full of wisdom, Blayne leaves Ireland and her family to make a life with James. She never imagined he would walk away, choosing his job over a future with her. Devasted, she puts her heart and soul into proving she's a success. She wants to make amends with her family, but also wants to make them proud. A successful launch of Archer Conservation Park, will do just that!
James Astor always felt as though he had to prove himself "worthy" to be an Astor. Proving himself a successful businessman was the reason he left Blayne all those years ago. Now he's back in Cape Van Buren trying to win back the love of his life, but Blayne won't have him. He broke her heart once and she won't allow him to hurt her again. Or so she thinks....
A past of mistakes, regrets, broken promises and young love nearly tear the perfect couple apart. This novel is one of forgiveness and true love. I loved the witty banter, the quirky townsfolk, and the hope given to those who truly believe in love. I can't wait to read more in the series! I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.
I loved the first book in this series and the second one didn't disappoint. This book will literally rock you emotionally but you will be healed by the end. It's a story of two people who were meant to be but circumstances tore them apart until years later.
James and Blayne were meant to be until James broke her heart. She was now in a new country alone and completely devastated. 10 years later, she fighting to make her career take off. She was asked to head the launch of the Archer Conservation Park when James comes back into the picture. Blayne has so much grit to deal with the hand she was dealt with and she's stilling fighting to come out on top. James is such a strong hero but definitely has his regrets. Can both work through their heartache and finally reach their HEA?
This story will send you on one crazy roller coaster ride of emotions. From legit ugly crying to laughing, MK Meredith has a way with words that literally suck you in and they won't let you go until the very last page!
Honor On The Cape by MK Meredith is the second book in her Cape Van Buren series. This book can be read as a stand-alone. After leaving her home in Ireland so many years ago Blayne decides that it is time to go home and makes amends. First she just needs to organise the launch of the Archer Conservation Park. But to do that she has to work with the one person that she left her family for in the first place. The one person who broke her when he left. James is back to right the wrong he committed all those years ago. He know she never should have left Blayne but now he is back to show her they still belong together.
A second chance romance story this book carries you along on the journey with the characters. Well written and engaging I found myself hoping that these two would find a way to make things work. A new author for me I found that I enjoyed her writing style and found the book easy to get into. I will certainly be going back to read book 1 and will be looking out for more by this author.
Honor on the Cape (Cape Van Buren #2) By M K Meredith 5 stars
I am so in love with this story it’s untrue! I laughed and I loved! I loved book 1 in this series but this one absolutely topped it! I loved all of the characters but Jamie – oh my gosh I am so in love with him! I get he made a mistake but he did everything he could to make it up to Blayne. I did love Blayne as well, she had a great feisty attitude and I love that she made Jamie work for it!! But I was secretly rooting for this couple; they were so, so perfect for each other! I loved seeing Larkin and Ryker from book 1 again and I really can’t wait for Claire and Mitch’s story! I have really taken all of these characters into my heart! I really love the authors writing style, her stories are such a pleasure to read. The pace and flow is great and her characters are truly amongst some of the best that I have read about. I can’t wait for more to come from this author and her fabulous Cape Van Buren series!
Book Review: Honor on the Cape ( Cape Van Buren Book 2) Author: MK Meredith Five Stars This is the second book in the Cape Van Buren Series and it can totally be a stand alone. There are characters from the first book in this one and there may be some spoilers if you haven't read the first but it is not a must. Blayne is heading back to Ireland as soon as she helps her friends get their Conservation Park up and running. After 10 years of not speaking to her father, she is ready to go home and make peace with him and ask him for forgiveness for leaving in the first place. James is back at the Cape and is determined to make amends with Blayne and prove to her he was wrong for leaving all those years ago and leaving her alone. Can they make things work or will things blow up and they never reconcile? I enjoyed this book as much as I did the first. I will be keeping my eyes open for the next one. Kelli Harper
Honor on the Cape, an On The Cape Novel by M.K. Meredith. This is the second book of the On the Cape Series and also the second book by this author that I have read. Ten years ago, Blayne left her home and her family behind and followed the love of her life, James, to the US. Never expecting to be left in a strange country with no friends or family when he left her all alone. Now not only is she forced to work with a partner, while trying to launch the Archer Conservation Park in Cape Van Buren, but she is forced to work with James. Will they be able to work together peacefully? Will Blayne be able to forgive James? Will James be able to get Blayne to forgive him and fall back in love with him? The interaction between the main characters and also the other characters, had me cracking up. Blayne loves fierce and James will do whatever he has to, to get through the walls she has built back up.
