A shocking secret!

Unfortunately for Jo, she was so angry that she stormed out without grabbing her favorite necklace - a gold chain with her recently deceased grandfather’s lodge ring hanging on it. She wants nothing more than to get it back, but she refuses to talk to Marcus to make that happen.

The obvious solution is to sneak in his place and steal it back while he’s not home. It's just Jo's luck that things don't go according to plan as she's suddenly thrust into a world of supernatural secrets beyond anything she's ever expected.

Valia Lind - Shared Dreams

Heather Marie Adkins - His Living Kiss (His Kiss #2.5)

MJ Strong’s life spiraled into darkness when her father died by suicide just before the new millennium.

On a late-night bender, she’s found by the only creature in the world drawn to her sadness: a vampire. What she thinks is a forever connection ends abruptly fourteen years later when he disappears without a trace. In the wake of his absence, MJ finds herself searching for meaning to her existence.

What she finds is a bar, the patrons and people who work there, and Foster Price. A human man - a living man - with whom she shares a connection that goes so much deeper than their shared darkness.

Together, they find the light they seek to burn away the sorrow they’ve lived with for far too long.

Please note: His Living Kiss is a little darker than the rest of the His Kiss stories. The author channeled her own journey through her parent’s suicide by writing this story. While the story is fiction, the feelings and emotions are not. If you or anyone you know is experiencing feelings of depression or suicidal thoughts, please reach out for help with the professionals who can help. Your story isn’t over yet.

A Flock of Magik by Angelique Armae
*
So this was an alternative prequel to A Flock of Omens which I read in Fierce and Fated. Not really sure which one I like better. The Omens is good because I enjoyed that first impression of actually meeting them at the castle but this one is good because we get a bit of action and our three raven shifters come to their queen`s aid. Either way, I`m happy to take over as queen if Reagan really is hesitate.

Vampyre Doll by Shelique Lize
*
Getting some serious Vampire Diaries vibes from this story but I love TVD so it`s all good. Also, this is bit darker, though TVD can get dark, on the show at least (show was better, sorry not sorry). Our main MC is Justice, destined to meet a man who will change her life forever; turns out to be twin brothers who are extremely good-looking, clearly dangerous, and as drawn to her as she is to them. Also, from the few chapters we get from their POV, Dante and Marquis seem to know Justice from another lifetime aka doppelganger time. And the connection is like on a soul level of Justice being this girl from their past and whoever she was complicates things for the brothers in the present.
*
We also have Justice`s ex, Calvin, who disappeared for two years, without a word, before showing up outta nowhere back in her like, well in and out anyway. Turns out he is part of a secret organization that hunts monsters, Cerberus. There is another one, an illegal one, that specializes in vampyres. However, there seems to be a whole other society set up where they are able to live among the humans and be left alone so long as they follow the rules. Dante be a rebel and I am perfectly okay with it.
*

*
Of course, Marquis, though he tries to maintain some sort of order, has his moments too. They love to play with humans. Anyway, we first meet Calvin and his team hunting an escaped experiment called K-17 for the Cerberus organization. Not entirely sure when this thing is but is kills whatever human hosts it possesses. They fail to capture it and some time later, we see them meet up with the twins to discuss Dante throwing a human out the window... naughty boy 😉
*
Back track, while celebrating her 21st birthday out with all her friends and an unwanted ex, Justice witnesses one of her best friends Erin, being attacked by this K-17. It found a new host inside her and some time later, she attacks another friend, Jordan, at a party. At least, she tries to because Justice tires to intervene, Jordan gets knocked unconscious, Erin shows inhuman strength and guess who should interfere... Dante. Just before this whole ordeal, she had learned that this man she kept running into was in fact very attractive twins. Dante fought Erin and eventually through her out the window, but she got away. Justice freaks on him but then has to focus on helping Jordan as he comes to.
*
Later when Calvin and co are found waiting inside the twins' condo, we learn that the brothers have heard tale of an experiment like this some time back which caused trouble and was the property of Cerberus. Guess who they consider to be responsible for what is happening now...
*
A week passes, and Justice goes out on a triple date with her friends. She goes with Chase, a guy from her past she bumped into again a few weeks ago. Turns out his name is actually Mathias and he is extremely bad news, even for a vampyre. Even Dante and Marquis are not thrilled with the situation. Bad things go down at the club they go to but Dante saves the day, again, and Justice finds herself in the twins' condo. Calvin and Dante proceed to fight over Justice's next more, pretty much ignoring her questions, to which she deserves answers btw, and nearly come to blows. She was going to stayed with the brothers but ends up leaving with Calvin in order to keep Dante from ripping his throat out. Also, Justice has been turned into a Doll; a human which has ingested a vamp's blood over time. However, it appears this vamp would like to remain anonymous while protecting her from the influence of other vampyres. ALSO, Calvin is an idiot and completely unprepared for what is happening and quite poorly informed about the vampyres he THINKS he knows about.
*
Personally, I would have stayed with the brothers because Calvin continues to annoy the shit outta me, but whatevs. Her friends survive the night, though they are filled with questions. Justice manages to start getting answers though not through Calvin, ass. She is constantly babysat by her ex and Jessica, one of his crew. She confides in Jordan and tries to live her life as normally as possible. Then, when she and Nicole decide to go for a swim, Dante appears because he still can`t get her out of his mind and he knows it means something. They kiss, sparks fly, and then they must go their separate ways. In the girls locker room, Justice and Nicole fight Erin, who has appeared once again looking for both a new body AND Dante. She takes a bite outta Nicole, poor girl. Justice swims in and out of consciousness but hears gunshots.
*
LOVE IT!! Totally sucked in, but I want more Dante and Marquis and less Calvin. Also, Jordan has a secret or knows more than he says and I wanna know what`s up with him.

Consumed by Magic: A Guardians of Magic Short Story by Elena Gray & Kelli McCracken
*
There are sun witches: power from the sun & more connected in Spring & Summer and moon witches: power from the moon & more connected in the Fall & Winter. Our MC, Samara, is a sun witch looking to become a Celestial witch: draw power from both the sun and moon. Forbidden magics btw. Also, our gal has 3 boyfriends, Zander- alpha werewolf shifter, Draven- a mage, & Thomas- a human. Guess which relationship is against witch law. Plus, she`s got four guardians (Roark, Slade, Jax, Quinn) who watch over her and keep on eye to make sure she ain`t doing anything she shouldn`t, which apparently is like her motto. TBH though, it seems that the council might need to update their laws to fit with the times. Samara and her friends, Natasha & Rose are studying hard and coming into their powers. Samara has some special powers as she is the one with four gargoyle shifters for guardians... who are actually quite charming.
*
Anyway, Samara met up with Thomas for a date before her meet up with Rose only to be interrupted by her guardians. They stay, waiting for Rose who never shows and worry sets in, especially when she remembers that Natasha missed breakfast that morning too. The guardians agree to split up to help her home and to go check on her friends. On the way out, a mysterious stranger with dark energy spills his drink on her and leaves Samara with a bad feeling as her guardians usher her out the club.
*
Have to admit, pulled me in. Gave me enough banter to want more of all the boys and enough about the witchy world to see Samara become the newest and more powerful High Priestess. PLUS, with a name like Samara, how could not want to know what`s up???

Short, sweet, and a little sad.

*
Chasing Tigers: A Clash of Queens Short Prequel Story by Athena Phoenix
*
Shifters are actually Genomorphs- humans with a mutated gene that allows them the ability to shift into animal form. Arcadia is a black tiger and set to become Queen. She will lead the GDF, the Genomorph Defense Force, shifter military created in response to the poachers. Genos are nearly extinct as poachers have decided hunting Genos is much more satisfactory than regular animals.
*
There is Chase Reede, a Felidae shifter - any cat he wants, no matter the size. Extremely rare and very cool in my opinion. They are very much in love, but Arcadia, as Queen, will have the Fates decide her Queen`s guards, four men who become so much more. He hopes that he will be picked as one of them. They keep saying how their hearts have already claimed each other`s but Chase keeps them from true commitment because of her duties as Queen she will undertake in just 37 days.
*
I`m really pulling for them, but a part of me kinds wants Chase not to be any of the four chosen guards because that would just make for such an entertaining story. Another part of me wants him to be one of them since they are already so well connected as is, they deserve to be happy, even if he has to share.

Outfoxing the Alpha by C.J. Beaumont

That was a nice little tease into the world. Definitely intrigued by the coyotes shifters (first time for me) coming to start shit!! Also, Marcus better keep Jo`s conditions cuz I will kick his butt if he don`t. Plus, I immediately loved Darius and Melody- so wish there had been more of them. Love me a witch and Incubus 🥰

*
Shared Dreams by Valia Lind
*
Enjoyed it. Been seeing a lot of witches destined for wolf shifters in these multi-story anthologies I keep buying. However, not complaining though. I love a leading alpha and a powerful witch. Let`s kick some Ancient butt!

DAMMIT ALL TO HELL!!??!?!?! I was so curious about Blaze and his mysterious past.
*
I WANTED ANSWERS NOT DEATH!
*
All for Nona and her multiple mates. Some connections you just can`t break no matter what. I`m upset over her loss of her fated mate Blaze, BUT she still has Cal and Rowan and they will be reunited in my mind because I refuse to believe otherwise. Also, LOVE Astrid and her inter-species pack- first time in a story for me. I`ve read others that were a fated thing but only between a grand total of 2 different species. I hope that Deja is a good witch and not some backstabbing bitch, but I have some intense suspicions...
*

*
Overall, really enjoyed and would love to follow Nona`s story further!

Waiting for You: A Western Pack Short Story by Julie Trettel
*
Ugh, what a tease!! Poor Kelsey. Being a lone wolf would be hard enough, but not having a clue about this world thrust upon you would be terrifying. But she has such strength, which is probably why she is fated to be with an Alpha. And Kyle, love him. So sweet and patient as his mate tries to come to terms with her own wolf and allowing people into her life.

Mythic Hearts by Candace Sams
*
Zeke is quite the angelic friend. Caleb has quite a hellish attitude, especially when it comes to love. And, Lorus Birch is quite rare and a spit-fire yet well grounded too. Yes to everything about their love affair and Zeke, you little sneaky matchmaker.... I see you!!
*
*
Interrupted: A Souja Guild Short Story by AJ Anders
*
Hot damn. That was short and a bit intense BUT still nicely written. I like these fated mates with several in the bond. Hope to Caleb, Max, and Felix that they can fix the bond with their last mate Cammie. Also. hope Max can get his friend`s memory back too.
*
*
Cursed Beginnings: A Cupid`s Curse Prequel by April Canavan
*
Okay- yes, Yes, AND YES!! I thought Mallory was gonna be like meant for love with Eros or something- I DID NOT see her being Psyche reincarnated though. Nice twist. And I like the new way of getting Cupids, though it does kinda suck because sometimes a couple just ain`t meant to be. Plus, it`s not exactly uncommon for one to seemingly love the other more so. Also, what happens if both parties are heartbroken by the break up- can they both make contracts? would they cancel the other out? is it first come first serve? Sorry but as you can see I have quite a few questions...
*
Also, I`d definitely get annoyed searching to help 99 couples find their love, but if there was a guarantee for me to find mine AND not age for however long it takes to fulfill that contract... I might be able to deal with it. Idk if I`d hate Eros until the end of time; I mean, the ACTUAL GOD OF LOVE, may have signed me to a contract I never agreed to but he would be hooking a girl up with her love, when the time came. Personally, I would just work as hard as I could to finish it as quickly as I could. And, even though I wouldn`t age until I was done, even if it was 100 years from now, it would be painful to watch all these couples find their true loves all that time. The sad part is, 100 years to put together 99 couples actually is pretty sensible as it pretty much equates to 1 couple/year, but still. That`s a lot of true love and a lot of loneliness, especially because you would know your love is out there somewhere waiting for you. #teamerosandpsyche

His Living Kiss by Heather Marie Adkins
*
That was very cute. Loved how darkness brought MJ to both these loves in her life, but also down completely different paths. Lourde was all about the darkness and keeping it there for his own selfishness, but Foster, even with his own darkness, helps MJ to find the light, and pull himself into it as well. So glad she was able to be happy and find the light in the dark AND that her family were just happy to have her a part of it.

I received an ARC of just one of the stories in this volume. Here's my review of Consumed by Magic by Kelli McCracken:

Samara is frustrated by a spell. Soon she is distracted, though, by a voice speaking to her in what appears to be Latin. Zander, one of her harem, shows up, and they reconnect—literally. What else will the night hold for her?

For such a short read, this is surprisingly steamy. We meet one of her current harem and one she's hoping to add—though it could be dangerous as he is a human, not paranormal—as well as her protectors. The writing is tight and descriptive but with a little more profanity and crude words than I like. Still, I think this is a good short to whet your appetite for this series.

Paranormal romance vignettes…

This is a collection of fourteen stories – some previews, and some stand-alone – that include demons, angels, shifters, vampires and ghosts. I enjoyed all of them but since I am not a fan of cliffhangers, I definitely enjoyed some more than others. It is a good selection of stories, showcasing each authors imagination and skill.

The storylines vary; there are a few pretty steamy ones so I would say this is for adult readers. I received a free copy but my review is honest and voluntary. The stories are well-written but there were just too many cliffhangers for my liking.

Great stories

There are many great stories in this book. All are part of bigger stories that are either stand alone or part of a set. These are previews. There are some that need to be proofread, as there are many errors, skipped, or deleted words and such. Found a new author or two maybe.

A review of Raised By Wolves by Crystal Ash

Loved this new story featuring old friends from Crystal's Unholy Trinity series

Nona was a favourite of mine in the Unholy Trinity series and I was so glad that Crystal decided to treat us to her back story. This tells how Nona came to be a lone wolf, living in San Francisco, separated from her pack, her parents, and the three men that she grew up with, loved, and couldn't choose between. Cal, Rowan and Blaze are no longer in her life after the events told here and I can't wait to hear more about the four of them and how they reunite.
We also see Astrid and Orion, and then the added bonus of how Nona met Deja (the lucky girl in the Unholy Trinity RH series) made me smile a lot. Those two are great characters and it was wonderful to get a glimpse of the beginning of their friendship.
If you enjoy this story and haven't read any of Crystal's books yet, you have to try the Unholy Trinity series and then move on to the Harem of Freaks series. She has also started a new series called Riders of Dragon Valley. Crystal is one of my favourite authors and I love all her books. They are smart, sexy, supernatural, steamy and splendid.
