Sepertinya ini buku karya kak Raissa yg paling aku suka!! I've read all of her books (hehe bangga bgt) dan walaupun semuanya bagus, aku paling suka ini! Mungkin krn lagi pas aja kali ya sama perasaan insecure yg suka muncul di benakku akhir-akhir ini + aku lagi baca buku terkait self esteem gituuu jd moodnya lagi pas nih.
Selain komentar subjektif tsb, aku suka buku ini terutama krn ilustrasinya gemes bgtbgt, warnanya super gemess!! Ya selain itu tentu krn kata-katanya sih. Walaupun mungkin bagi sebagian org kyk yaaa biasa aja gt krn tentunya kita udh cukup familiar dgn kata-kata terkait self-love dsb, mnrtku penyampaian buku ini, melalui puisi ataupun kalimat singkat, rasanya enakk aja gtlohh kyk lg diomongin sama temen sendiri dan yaa kyk self reminder jugaa sih.
Inti dari puisi2 disini sbnrnya mirip2 sih yaa, tntg be good to yourself utamanya kalo yg aku tangkepp. Puisi2 disini gaada judulnya tp mnrtku sesuai sama judul buku ini, "Keep Going". Yg aku tangkep sih kyk apapun yg terjadi, hal2 semenyedihkan apapun atau semenyenangkan apapun, ya kita harus ttp berusaha buat ttp melalui apa yg ada di depan kita. Itu interpretasiku sih yaa hehe.
Aku merekomendasikan buku ini buat kalian yg butuh bacaan sekali duduk yg ringan + menyenangkan buat dibaca, atau mungkin pengen coba baca buku bahasa Inggris, atau lagi ngerasa down/gapede sama diri sendiri, atau ketiganya. Buku ini jg gemes bgt utk dikoleksi walaupun ga hard cover seperti dua buku karya kak Raissa Almira lainnya.
Will reread this book again, terlebih halaman2 yg aku tempelin sticky notes hihi. Thank you kak Raissa for writing and giving me this book!

(This review might be a little bit biased, but I'll try to keep it as subjective as possible.) I never thought that I'd review a book of a friend's.
First of, I have been in a MASSIVE reading slump, maybe since half a year ago and it's because of so many reasons: a) I joined student exchange program so that took a lot of my free time to read, b) I have just been super busy with school with the never ending assignment, and c) I just didn't feel like reading. As we can see, I started to pick this book up on June and I just finished on August, but with good reasons (like I've mentioned).
Second, I take this book very seriously, because this is my friend's book and I try to cherish it as much possible, if that makes sense, and I just didn't want to go through it quickly.
Third, this is the first poetry book I've read. I'm still so drawn into fiction, fantasy, contemporary, etc. and poetry (along with non-fiction) is just so uninteresting to me. I might try to pick up another poetry, because of this book.
With that being said, this book is just... it serves its purpose; to lift the reader's spirit, to make you love life, to make you love YOU. Last year was a hard year for me and this year is pretty much the same, but this book brings a smile to my face. Some pieces gave me goosebumps even. The pictures just scream "Raissa" to me. They help bring the book to become what it is: bright, colorful, and cheerful. A bookmark came with the book, too, a little thing but fun to discover. Most importantly, the pieces in this book is just so beautiful. Some parts effected me more than the other, but with a self-love poetry, I think how you're feeling at the moment plays a big part on how you view them.
To Raissa, thank you for writing this book. Thank you for writing such beautiful words that I can now rely on to remind myself not to forget to love myself, something that I forget almost everyday. Thank you for putting yourself into this book, because it shows how much of a caring person you are and how nurturing you are, not only to your family and friends, but to everyone else. We may not talk as much, but just know that with this book, it feels like you're telling me to get up and be the best version of me yourself. So thank you.

Keep Going berisi tentang kutipan-kutipan dalam Bahasa Inggris yang dimaksudkan untuk menyemangati kamu, si pembaca. Kamu akan menemukan banyak kalimat menenangkan dan kalimat penyemangat, bernada positif yang mungkin dapat membuatmu tersenyum saat membacanya. Buku ini berhasil menyuntikkan semangat untukku.
Sebenarnya pula, aku sudah membaca buku ini sebelum penulisnya mengirimkan bukunya padaku, karena aku tertarik dengan A Thousand Words For You. Aku sudah setengah membacanya, hingga buku ini datang.

Gaya ilustrasinya agak berbeda dengan A Thousand Words For You. Yang ini lebih berwarna dan cerita, cocok dengan inti pesan prosa-nya.

Setelah mandek dari April, akhirnya lanjut baca. Mungkin karena habis baca This Is Me Letting You Go yang sekeren itu, baca ini jadi jomplang. Bagus kok, aku menikmati, tapi nggak nyangkut aja.

loving yourself is a challenging thing to do because we are our worst enemy. we are our worst critiques and always self-doubting everything we try to do. but here in her first published book, the poet encourages the readers to see all the bright sides of loving ourselves. the love in this book can light up my soul that always needs some motivation to see the world and myself clearly. i do know if this makes sense but, that’s all that i can say about this book. the wordplay compared to the second book #athoushandswordsforyou is way more cheerful, lively, and encouraging! it’s so lovely to look at the cute illustrations in the book while enjoying the poems.

Keep Going merupakan kumpulan puisi tentang mencintai diri sendiri (self-love). Beberapa isu yang dibahas adalah memaafkan diri sendiri, berdamai dengan masa lalu, insecurity, overthinking, pertemanan yang suportif, dsb.
Saya baca Keep Going sekali duduk doang karena puisi-puisinya sederhana dan nggak susah dicerna. Oh ya, meskipun buku ini full berbahasa Inggris, bahasanya masih termasuk ringan.
Keep Going menarik perhatian saya karena tema self-love yang dibawakan. Beberapa puisinya pun cukup ngena. Buku ini juga dilengkapi berbagai ilustrasi menggemaskan di hampir tiap halaman dan bikin puisinya jadi lebih berwarna. Nggak boong, ilustrasinya beneran lucu banget! 😍
Akan tetapi, saya merasa konteks kebanyakan puisinya kayak serupa tapi tak sama(?). Maksudnya, sama-sama punya unsur nyemangatin tapi bahasanya beda. Semoga kalian paham maksudnya. 😂 Hal ini juga yang bikin saya agak bosen menjelang akhir buku.
Tapiii lagi-lagi ini berdasarkan opini saya pribadi. Bisa jadi di kalian beda hehe.
Secara keseluruhan, Keep Going cukup menyenangkan untuk dibaca. Ilustrasi yang lucu-lucu jadi salah satu daya tarik dari buku ini. Kalau kalian lagi menghadapi konflik dengan diri kalian sendiri, buku ini mungkin bisa jadi teman. 🧡

This book started out light and pretty. The illustrations I adored the most were the ones that looked like they were painted in watercolor (my favorite was definitely the galaxy one. I’m always a sucker for anything galaxy-related, I know). But overall, they were all simple but pretty colorful. Definitely a great complement to such uplifting poems. I believed they were there to brighten up the mood.
The poems in this book were mostly short, but their meanings were very clear that I thought I knew well enough what exactly the author was trying to tell. I was once again reminded of the concept of being enough. And it was always good to be enough.
If you’re currently feeling down or in need of something powerful and uplifting, I encourage you to give this book a try (or you can always reach me too, I’ll hear you out). This book is such a great reminder about the necessity of self-love with colorful illustrations to make you smile. And for someone who has already read the author’s second book, I’d say that she has improved a lot in her new one, both writing and illustrating-wise.

This is my first ever published book, about self love....hence Imma give this a 5 since it shows how much I love myself HAHAHA :)) anyways writing this book was a definitely a roller coaster ride, but it was really meaningful as it gave me lots of moments of self reflections. I hope readers are able to find 'a friend' within this book!
