Book One: Scarlet Toys
Living on Violent Circle, a place that’s less of a neighborhood and more of an insane asylum poured into the street, I thought I was prepared for anything. After you’ve seen a woman strip down at the laundry room to wash the clothes she’s wearing, then saunter across the street naked, you’ve seen it all, right?
How naïve I was.
After the factory closed, leaving me and a good portion of the town unemployed, I took a job managing Scarlet Toys. I knew it wouldn’t be a typical work environment, selling adult toys in a town more uptight than a constipated nun, but some things you just never see coming.
Like the protesters covered in poison ivy, screaming about smut peddlers.
Or a dancing dinosaur named Fappy.
Or the allure of the man standing in the center of all the chaos.
Wyatt Lawson, a six foot, four inch heap of muscle with a quick smile, ignited my interest in more than the available manager position. Like the missionary one. Or the rodeo. Maybe the side rider. What can I say? I’m an overachiever.
Let’s just hope he doesn’t scare easily.
Book Two: Frat Hell
Frat Hell.
That’s how the whole neighborhood refers to the apartment where I live with three other college students. It’s a bit judgmental, considering the neighborhood we live in is more like a zoo than an apartment complex, but not inaccurate. If you put that many young guys together, things are bound to be interesting. I still maintain that the giant water guns filled with poison ivy water were not my idea.

Everyone knows the rumors about Violent Circle and the crazy inhabitants, but becoming a resident was my best option. These are the kind of decisions you’re faced with when you have a baby at eighteen, and your knight in shining armor turns out to be a deadbeat dad in saggy boxers.
Don’t get me wrong, my five-year-old son, Aiden, is the love of my life, even when he’s telling random strangers I’m constipated, or lecturing his preschool friends on the differences in their anatomy. I wouldn’t trade him for anything, but raising him as a single parent while cleaning motel rooms for a living is like walking a balance beam made of sand. One wrong slip, and we’re homeless.
It doesn’t take us long to adjust to our new home with all its eccentric people, and Aiden is happy here, but danger lurks right across the street. Not in the apartment of the odd woman who always wears a floppy sun hat and trench coat, or the crazy apartment full of college kids. I wish it were that simple.

3.75 Puff Butt Stars
“Slut Shaming,” was a nice bonus to the box set that includes the first three books of the, Violent Circle series. Glad I jumped on this lighthearted, funny little nugget of a novella. I needed a good laugh, and this one packed in quite a few!

Grappig genoeg zou ik de boeken los van elkaar 4* geven, maar omdat SM Shade het niveau moeiteloos hoog houdt, omdat haar grappen zo gevat zijn, omdat haar personages zo echt zijn, omdat Violent Circle zo goed bedacht is, omdat de seksscènes zo romantisch zijn, omdat het niet altijd gaat over "hoe krijg ik hem/haar", maar ook over het daarna gaat, en vooral omdat dit boek over echte mensen en echte problemen gaat. Ik ben voluit gelachen en was totaal verslaafd. Wat een heerlijke serie.

This is a great series that made me laugh so hard and kept me entertained throughout. The first book is Scarlet Toys, a sex shop that is opening up in a small town and the things the employees and neighborhood endure because some locals just can't stand the idea. Wyatt is a rich, attractive guy who owns Scarlet Toys and he falls for his new employee Cassidy. Cass lives in Violent Circle a low income housing area where there is constant entertainment and chaos and she doesn't want to get attached to Wyatt because she knows he will move on. These two had me laughing so hard and definitely were meant for each other. The side characters were all amazing and funny as well. The second book is Frat Hell and it follows Noble and Jani. I fell hard for Noble in book one because he seemed so charismatic, laid back, and funny. Everyone thought he was just a college frat type that partied but underneath his laid back exterior he worked hard and he studied even harder with life ambitions. Jani is hilarious and is afraid to love someone and become dependent on them she wants serious and thinks Noble doesn't take life serious until he proves her wrong. The Violent Circle gang with their hilarious antics had me laughing so hard and Noble had me swooning even more.

The dynamic of this book reminded me more of 'Scarlet Toys'. It was more - I don't know - grown up, almost? It tugged on my heart strings more that's for sure. The kids are fabulous especially Aiden. He made me think that's what a cross of Noble & Denton would've been like at 5 yrs old - hilarious 😂 Neal's freak out over Bailey is the funniest 'Dad moment' ever 😂😂 Neal & Veronica were brilliant 😍 They were both funny, relaxed & mostly chilled out!!💙💖 I LOVED this book 😍 This one is a perfect blend of love, laughter, friendship, community & family 💞💘 Look out for the bathroom scene at the Hotel in Chapter 9, I died 😳😂😂😂😂and

Hilarity at its finest
If you are looking for a laugh out loud, spit your drink out your nose, and tear filled eyes then look no further than Violent Circle. Small town hijinks are at their finest with the series. I highly recommend them to everyone.
Also included is a bonus short story Slut Shamed. Shade didnt disappoint with her comedy, her wtf moments or her characters. I love Samamtha and Nick.

Scarlet Toys:
Let me start off with if you are someone that is doesn't have a good perverted sense of humor, then this book is not for you. Now with that being said let me see if I can get this review done without giving any spoilers...
Holy hell this was one of those books that had me laughing my ass off. I mean laughing so hard that I had tears coming out of my eyes at time, that I had to stop reading long enought for me to get, myself under control. The characters are perfect, and the banter between each of them is something that keeps you sucked in so that you just want more. When you think that something sweet and loving is going to happen, bam you are hit with something that will have you loosing it. S.M. Shade keeps the perfect ballance with her characters and the story line that there wasnt a time that I didn't find myself getting bored with this one. And as a former "Porn Pusher" myself I found the situations at the store with protesters some of the funniest and most relatable situations. Not the Dino Suite wearing protestor part, but the funny things that come from people that act like they need a good time themselves.
Frat Hell:
Shade did it again. Another hit.
This book had me laughing from the beginning. I knew that Shade was going to have her work cut out for her after Scarlet Toys, and she did not disappoint.
The characters were perfectly constructed along with the entire story. I want more from the Violent Circle.
Noble and Jani were two of the characters that you were introduced to in Scarlett Toys and this is your chance to get their story. And because they are residence of Violent Circle you know that their story is nothing short of entertaining.
Word of advice do not drink while reading this one, unless your OK with the possiblity of choking on said drink from your laughing. And there may be a chance that you may laugh so hard that you may pee a little.
Clean Start:
Clean Start was laugh your ass off funny. I absolutely loved the first two books in this series, and this one just maybe my favorite.
Neal and Victoria were great characters. Even though they had been dealt a shitty hand when it came to their exes, they were still making a good life for their kids. Neal's daughter Bailey and Victoria's son Aiden just add to the family dynamic that is formed between these two. Then when you add-in the others from Violent Circle and let the crazy begin. Of course the Frat Hell guys bring their chaos and their T-rex suite. And with Aiden stealing every scene that he's in, you can't help but laugh and hope you don't pee a little while doing it.
I just couldnt put this one down., it was devoured in one sitting. But, of course when it comes to a SM Shade ROMCOM I wouldn't expect anything less.
Slut Shamed:
One of the best parts of this box set is that you get a Violent Circle short story to go with the first three books in the series. And let me say that this story definitely lives up to the Violent Circle expectations. There is non stop laughs when the girl with the slutty name "Samantha" meets the guy, Nick, that is can change her outlook on relationships. Of course the residence of Violent Circle make their appearances that will have you going What The Fuck are they up to now. And there are even times that you will just say "I did not see that coming."
Purchasing the box set alone for the short story is worth it. I cannot get enough of this group of people. and I can only hope that there is more to come.

Scarlet Toys:
This is a fun little read about what it could be like to work in a sex shop. Cassidy loses her job and finds employment managing a sex shop. And the icing on the cake for her is that her boss, Wyatt is extremely good-looking. The book goes through how the community may act to having this type of shop in a just-recent "wet" town. Adding to the hilarity of this book, you get to visit Cassidy's neighborhood, Viole(n)t Circle, where anything goes, but they always have your back.
Frat Hell:
I loved getting to go back to Viole(n)t Circle. This visit was to Frat Hell, the apartment of college guys: beer, babes and bongs. The guys were helpful in the saving of Scarlet Toys, so I definitely wanted to learn more about them. Noble is about to collect his winnings from a bet from Jani: a date. They both have interesting ideas of a date, but I liked Noble's better. Who knew a frat guy living in a party house could actually be an adult? I love his career choice. I think I have a soft spot for Noble. Once again, the Circle teams up to support each other with hilarious results. This is a must read and I hope the series has a few more books left. I enjoyed the Cass & Wyatt cameos, as well.
Clean Start:
This book had me giggling from start to finish. This series was so funny. This was a friends-to-lovers and was a slow burn. I love the Viole(n)t Circle community - how they have each other's backs and are welcoming to all who live (and have lived) there. This was such a fun series to read. It should be made into a movie.
Sl*t Shamed
I have respect for Sam. She was portrayed in the other book in not always in a good light, so some things I've learned about Sam were eye-opening. She lives her life the way she wants with no excuses or regrets. She also has a (unexpected for some) heart of gold. It's nice to have someone to be with and it's something that Sam is learning. I think that she's able to find her happiness and I love the togetherness the Circle family has.

I've been a big fan of the Violent Circle series from the start. These books are so much fun. They're everything I look for in romance: humor, sexy times, amazing characters and in this case a neighborhood you will not forget. I've already read Scarlet Toys, Frat Hell and Clean Start. I've reviewed all of these previously under their own title on Goodreads.
I was excited for this box set, because of the short story - Slutshamed. A big thanks to the author for providing me with an e-arc to read and review. Samantha was a character I've been curious about, because we've read about her in previous stories. She's a woman who goes after what she wants and isn't going to be ashamed of it. Nick is a guy she meets at a bar and they're first meeting is rather steamy.
This short story was so much fun and I loved both characters. This novella was filled with everything we know and love from this author. A lot of humor, some steamy scenes, amazing characters and some laughs this neighborhood never goes without. Add a few appearances from characters we know and love and a cute dog, I was sold.

This boxset is the first 3 books in a series SM Shade created surrounding a low income apartment complex that sits on a circle - Violet Circle. Each book stems from characters we meet in book 1 (Scarlet Toys) which follows Cassidy and Wyatt's story. There is a ton of fun to be had in these books and while I rated book 1 with 4 stars, the rest of them were all 3 star books in my opinion.
However, if you like these 3 books you should be aware that there are 5 books in total, with an additional short story about Samantha. The author originally only planned on the series being a trilogy which is why I assume the rest of the books aren't included in this box set.
Overall each book will at least give you the giggles. Book 1 will make you flustered as it's pretty steamy. But the rest of the books don't live up to the spice in Scarlet Toys. All still great romcom reads though. Especially if you need a pick me up or an in between book (you know...when you find yourself 8 books deep into crap storylines and terrible characters).

I want to live in Violent Circle !!!!!
I found S.M. Shade when I read Worth It which she cowrote with C.M. Owens - so funny!
Up pops Violent Circle and I couldn't resist and believe me, it is most definitely worth reading!!!!
I love that this was set in a housing estate where people are struggling - not that I want people struggling!!!, I just mean it's more real! These people are working their butts off to make ends meet, they really don't have much and yet the friendships they have are ones that a lot of people can only hope for.

I found S.M. Shade when I read Worth It which she cowrote with C.M. Owens - so funny!
Up pops Violent Circle and I couldn't resist and believe me, it is most definitely worth reading!!!!
I love that this was set in a housing estate where people are struggling - not that I want people struggling!!!, I just mean it's more real! These people are working their butts off to make ends meet, they really don't have much and yet the friendships they have are ones that a lot of people can only hope for.

You'll laugh so hard you will cry and maybe even pee yourself.
When I first read this series, I was having a hard time and needed a laugh. A friend recommended this and needless to say it cured my sadness. This is by far one of the funniest books I've ever read. This box set is worth every penny. Plus this box set came with a wonderful short novella which is so wonderful. The rest of my review will be devoted to the novella so if spoilers ahead.
Samantha loves sex and is not ashamed about it. Her neighbor on the Viole(n)t circle like to tease her about her restless groin syndrome. Nick is a roofer with a love of the outdoors and his family. So when he sees the gorgeous woman in the coffee shop he finds himself enamoured with her. But will Samantha be ready for a relationship? 5 star read highly recommended!

A group of college kids with other people thrown in on a neighborhood that is poor. But the people don't let it bother them. They pull together for each other no matter what. And the parties and high jinks these college boys and girls and others go through is so hilarious. I had trouble at times keeping a steady reading going I was laughing so hard. This is the best series I have ever read. I had to wipe my eyes at times because they were watering from me laughing. They have so many emotions, fun excitement and so much more going on. Each story is about one boy and the girl he cares about and the others blend in. I just can't say enough about how much I enjoyed this set. It is a must read and highly recommended.

This series is hilarious, hot, and touching all wrapped up! The box set is a great way to start the series, especially with the additional short story. The crazy isn't contagious, but you'll want your own slice of Violent Circle once you're done-anything less isn't as entertaining. The short story is a great quick read and gives you a little more development for some characters we've seen in other books. Even if you've already read the series, the box set is worth picking up to relive the embarrassing and hilarious moments, while discovering another side of Sam. Loved it!

This is exactly what I was waiting for. All the crazy in one set! I loved every single one, every book, every neighbour, every story! I couldn't get enough of all their antics. These books are filled with everything you could ask for, romance, steamy sexiness, funny as hell scenes you will never erase from your mind, witty comebacks, love, friendship, a bit of angst, a touch of reality and quite a few "what did I just read? and WTF" moments. Well done to this amazing author for filling life with some crazy fun!

So fun!
I got the whole 3 pack series in one. So, book by book, each is technically a stand alone, so you don't have to read the others but the characters overlap, so you might miss little things if you don't read them in orde.r. now, book 3 was my least fav. It was good, but the first two had me laughing so hard I was crying. If you want a funny romantic comedy, stop, and get these. I wanted to move. Find these people and have them in my life. This was such a fun series.

I loved the first 3 Violent Circle books, so finding out there was a box set made me so happy. Finding out that there was an exclusive short story for Samantha, please I was ecstatic! Sam was always the most “sexually free” of the residents, so I couldn’t wait to see how her story played out. While I’m sad we won’t get her misadventures in future tales, this short story had all the laughs and heat you would expect. And I love that she found a puppy just like her!

These books are an absolute riot. You can't go wrong with any of them. This has to be one of my top five favourite series, because they're just so good. They're hilarious, sweet and contain some of the most loveable characters ever. They're all amazingly written and will not disappoint! There's also a short story in this boxset that I was so excited to read, so that was a huge bonus!

Every story in this box set is absolutely hilarious. You will be laughing out loud. Don't read at work if you don't want to be caught. Each story portrays the life of one of the characters who live on Violet Circle AKA Violent Circle. The stories all intermingle so you still read about all of the characters which helps keep the hilariousness going. The novella added at the end is the perfect ending.

How I would give anything to be one of the residents of Violent Circle!! I would just sit out on my porch with popcorn to watch the shenanigans unfold. This series is my most highly recommended rom-com. The situations they find themselves in will leave you laughing so hard you can't catch your breath!! The characters are endearing, the comedy is perfectly timed and well written.

FUNNY! That is all that I can say about this series. My husband thought I was absolutely nuts because I kept laughing out loud while reading this book. S.M. Shade became an author that I loved with rockstar interrupted but this series holy crap this just took everything to the next level. If you are in need of a good laugh and I do mean you won’t stop laughing then this is the book series for you.

Love this series, shannon has out done her self, this series has had me laughing my head off with all the quirky characters from violent circle! The box set comes with a great little spinoff, slut shamed and oh mygod!! Loved it! Samantha is a no bullshit kinda person, actually reminds me of someone.. i wonder.. anyway you need this boxset, just. Do it!!! You wont regret!!

I have really high expectations when it comes to SM’s books and every time she exceeds them. This box set is laugh out loud funny. Voile(n)t circle is full of characters and the bonus story of Sam is brilliant in itself. Definitely worth a read, but not in public unless you want funny looks from people trying to figure out why your laughing.

I have read each of these and they just keep getting better. I would like to see a sequel to the first book!! Really loved all of them but there is something about your first (pun intended)... this is not my normal genre (I usually go for darker, fantasy, RH and shifter but these kept me intrigued and laughing all night long!! I would totally recommend for all.

Great new author
I was lucky enough to find S.M. Shade and the Violent Circle Series a month ago. Im ready to re-read this whole series since I laughed nonstop. Besides the laughs she writes great primary and secondary characters. This is someone whose books I will always be excited to read.

This is my favorite series! It’s so full of laughter out loud moments. Tears to your eyes with your sides hurting from laughing so much! If your looking for that kind of series this is definitely the series for you! I’ve had so many moments I’ve Spit my drink everywhere. If you’ve never read this series OMG you need to! You won’t be sorry!

I read all 3 books in the box set and loved them all, my best advice don't be drinking anything when reading these, you may end up having your drink all over yourself, my sides hurt from laughing so much. S.M Shade does a wonderful job at these stories tou grow to love the characters and love the neighborhood. I couldn't wait to get my hands on the short story about Samantha.

This series is a breath of fresh air. It's for it all, laughs, romance , hot bedroom scenes and great neighbors and friends.
Each book is about a different couple and the new shirt story of Samantha was great! I've waited for a story for her and I'm so happy to read about her.

This series is one of my all time favorite laugh out loud series! The antics of the residents on Violent Circle are absolutely hysterical!!!! The frat boys antics will keep you in stitches! I get so excited every time a new book comes out in this series. You will devour these! Prepare for strange looks when you read these out in public!!!
