Cambria Hebert is a bestselling novelist of more than fifty titles. She went to college for a bachelor’s degree, couldn’t pick a major, and ended up with a degree in cosmetology. So rest assured her characters will always have good hair.
Besides writing, Cambria loves a pumpkin spice latte, staying up late, sleeping in, and watching K drama until her eyes won’t stay open. She considers math human torture and has an irrational fear of chickens (yes, chickens). You can often find her running on the treadmill (she’d rather be eating a donut), painting her toenails (because she bites her fingernails), or walking her chihuahuas (the real bosses of the house).
Cambria has written in many genres, including new adult, sports romance, male/male romance, sci-fi, thriller, suspense, contemporary romance, and young adult. Many of her titles have been translated into foreign languages and have been the recipients of multiple awards.

I always get excited when Cambria Hebert announces a new book. I loved the sound of Mr. Fantasy, so the count down until release date could begin. This book made me swoon. It made me smile. It had a little bit of suspense. I fell in love with the characters. I enjoyed and loved every single thing about Mr. Fantasy! I loved Carter and Nora’s fantasy and their reality.

Carter totally won me over. He’s rich, protective, caring and closed off. Carter is a successful businessman. He loves what he does for a living and it has made him very rich. He has been living on a private island and he loves it. Carter thinks that everybody wants something from him and he has never fell in love before, but things are different with Nora. She’s different. Carter wants her and he would do a lot to be with her.

Nora is smart, kindhearted, loyal and loving. She has been hurt by her ex-boyfriend (I hate that man!). Her best friend wants Nora to have fun on their vacation and to meet someone new, for one night or more. Nora never expected to find Carter or that he would be interested in her. She definitely likes him and she sees more in him than the rich businessman, but she’s still a little guarded.

Carter and Nora are amazing together! I still love a romance novel about a rich businessman falling hard for a not rich, ordinary woman. Carter and Nora both couldn’t forget that one night they spend together on Nora’s vacation. It was meant to be that they would see each other again one day. They belong together. They do take things slow at the beginning, but there is no denying the chemistry between them. Carter and Nora will be a solid, hot and strong couple. Sometimes reality is much better than fantasy.

-- My honest review is based on an advanced reader copy of this book. --

My initial thoughts after the first chapters, where two girls board a boat with two strangers (willingly I might add), then one of them is being purposely tossed overboard in the middle of the ocean and left without looking back because she refuses to sleep with one guy, then another guy comes along and hauls her out, puts her in his bed and admits to being a stalker...?? RIDICULOUS.

So many times I was on the verge of dnf just in the first chapters... but at the same time I couldn't help but keep going just to see what absurdity would come next. And the more I read, the more I found it HILARIOUSLY ridiculous. That is, until the whole farce about the fight over the video game came in the second half.

I honestly really liked the book until approx. 50%, I found it refreshing and entertaining, but after that it just nosedived for me. I was wondering the whole time if weaving a romance in between the pages of all the crazy schemes and silly decisions was genius or folly. The whole romantic suspense part was disappointing for me though, the plot and drama with the heroine's ex was simply terrible and ott. Which wouldn’t be so bad if it were actually meant to be a farce, but after reading the whole book I think it was supposed to be serious... which in the end makes it hysterical. Yeah, this was definitely one of the most bizarre and unrealistic books I've read this year.

I finished the book only because I was hoping to see more of the humor or the heroine's sass and fierceness from the second quarter. That didn’t come though. It was also insta-love at its finest and I didn't understand the connection between the MCs.
Normally I would rate a book like this 2 stars. But for the hero's adorable way of his possessiveness and the great comedy in chapter 23, I'm adding one star.

3.5 stars - I love CH, but I was really not into the first part of this book. The instalove and “fantasy” aspect were just way too cheesy for me. I did not like the detailed stranger sex that was oddly intimate and tender…. It gave me the ick….

BUT… this book benefited from my trust in the author so I kept going where typically I would have DNFd. I ended up liking this. Once we were past the weird insta meet cute and into the meat of the story, it had all the stuff I like about CH books. The hero was perfectly possessive/protective, and not afraid to be grabby, demanding, and fierce. The heroine was cute and the right amount of feisty.

I probably would have rated it higher if we’d spent less time in his head. He had a lot of “fluttering tummy” moments that felt more like they belonged to a female rather than an alpha male… it was pulling me out of the story by the end. I think there’s other ways to show the hero’s emotions, and CH is typically pretty good at those ways. Anyway, this aspect felt a little lazy and unnecessary.

Overall though, this was a solid fun read.

Mr. Fantasy is the perfect read to get away without leaving where you are. I'd say it's the perfect summer read but I mean we're so close, you might as well read it now.

Nora and Carter were super freaking cute. I felt so bad for her in the beginning with what that douche did to her but I mean if that was the only way she could have her fling with Mr. Fantasy so be it. It think in the end, it was all worh it and she wouldn't have it any other way.

I also loved that there was so much depth to Carter and he wasn't just your typical millionaire tycoon. And he was the freaking cuttest with Nora, I honestly adored them. He was definitely swoon worthy.

I really enjoyed this one. Cambria's writing is as good as always, she knows how to hook her reader and how to write the freaking sweetest characters...her heros are the best, the perfect combination of sweet, alpha and heat. And she never fails to deliver some angst, suspense and action wich always make her books that extra good. I loved Mr. Fantasy and I'll wait for fate to give me a Carter of my own.

Written in classic Cambria style, Mr. Fantasy will take you on a trip you did NOT expect! Carter is simply swoony and I loved Nora's clumsiness and big heat. Hot, steamy office romance is a perfect read for the upcoming summer months.

I felt it was too rushed. I don't mind the aspect of the insta-love and the whole idea of Mr Fantasy but there were a lot of sub-plots that needed to be more developed.
I also didn't find the ending to be satisfactory at all.

2.5 - 3 Stars!

Here’s the thing about Cambria Hebert’s writing, her mind must be a magical place because it doesn’t matter what book it is they’re all so throughly incredible and unique you’re instantly hooked. I have so many favorites from her that I have gone back and read over and over countless times and now I have Mr. Fantasy to add to that list!
What starts out as a seriously hot, fun fling transforms into a gripping story filled with romance, suspense and emotion with a bit of humor sprinkled throughout that had me unexpectedly giggling more than once. I never thought I’d say this in my life, but Romeo has been nudged aside with Carter taking the lead. I want my own Mr. Fantasy to stalk me after meeting him! Not only is this wealthy CEO super hot he’s also super sweet in his own unique way.
Overprotective, swoony and sexy I was as obsessed with him as Nora was. With Carter’s all around perfection and Nora being someone who was not only real and relatable but also steadfastly loyal and brave they make a couple that you can’t help but absolutely love!

1.5 stars. I didn't hate it, but it wasn't okay either.
What happened to you, Ms. Hebert? It's not like her books were always on the realistic side, but Mr. Fantasy is the most unrealistic story I have read this year. It was ridiculous.
But it wasn't just the unrealistic part of the story. It was also the characters. Carter was way too crazy with his stalkerish ways. And Nora was just... so stupid. I mean, seriously, does the girl think? At all?

I know this book is supposed to be about spring break, but I read it while flying to my summer vacation and it was the perfect beach read.

I was super excited when I found out that Cambria had decided to build a whole book off her initial short story for the Spring Fling anthology, but waited until I had some free time to really savor it. And what to say, this was maybe one of the most OTT stories I've read from her, especially character and pace-wise. Carter and Nora have an almost instant attraction, but not just that, their relationship moved very fast once they found each other again. On top of that, having just finished an internship myself, I couldn't help but stare wide-eyed at the pages when she sassed him out in public on the work-place or he took liberties with her in front of other people. Still, I let my beliefs be suspended due to the whole Fantasy concept of this book and managed to get stuck on some of these inconsistencies.

I definitely like how the author's latest novels have taken more of a romantic suspense approach, with always an element of danger beyond the usual relationship drama. Although I have to say that the pissed ex-boyfriend trope will never get too old for me.

Now let's talk about the characters. Nora was a sweetheart and the only kind of critique I have is that I felt like her character switched from the initial short story to the full length novel. At first I had a different personality pictured in my mind for her, as a result of her interaction with her friend and even Carter or the a-hole bartender, but in the full length novel she really came across as a very sweet girl.

Carter was a surprise. Or rather, his alpha-ness suprised me. He is definitely a powerful man, but I hadn't expected some of his extreme emotions, which definitely helped with the quick pacing of the story. His obsession for Nora didn't seem as out of place because of his personality being so OTT.

Overall, a great summer read, a quick paced story with some twists and turns, some suspense and an over the top alpha hero who would do anything for his sweet girl. I'd love to read more about these characters and I'd also like to read maybe a novella or a short story about Nora's friend and her relationship with Carter's right hand man.

Cambria Hebert completely stole my heart with her Hashtag series and I swore those guys would always be my top favorites of hers but man oh man has a brilliant dilemma presented itself, making me smile big and once again a fan of her writing.

This book. This hero. This fantasy guy. Mr. Fantasy himself...Carter. Plain and simple... the man was swoony, sexy, rich af, intense, addicting and so dang irresistible in alllllllllll the ways... and now tied with my tops of Romeo and Brayden.

Mr. Fantasy was an unforgettable vacation - steamy office romance that left me swooning, smiling, and remembering just exactly why I love and adore Cambria's fun words. And y'all, expect the unexpected when it comes to our girl Nora and our hero Carter. They absolutely lit up my kindle the moment they landed on it and had me just feeling really, really good by the time the words stopped flowing.

An easier romance that'll leave you grinning, wishing for salty air and water... and totally and completely breathless. Cambria once again cements her foot in the book world with a book that'll hit your tbr pile fast, just like it did mine.

I highly recommend this book.

I am so glad the author decided to make Carter and Nora’s story a full length because it was just brilliant. Carter was a sweet, kinda alpha, hard loving Mr Fantasy and Nora was a sweetheart that just couldn’t let the thought of Mr Fantasy just be a one night stand but what could she do she was back home and loving her life. The storyline was fun and kept me interested because I wanted to know what would happen next. Also I was so glad Alan got what was coming his way, he was a perfect slime all of an ex. Another amazing story by this author.

I need to preface this by saying how much of a Cambria Hebert fan I am. That being said, this book was all over the place. It didn't seem to know what it wanted to be and I ended up caring more about Aaron and Knox the bodyguards than the couple I was reading about. Nora and Carter, were insta love with a bit of stalking and it was just all a bit odd. Through in the crazy ex and corporate backbiting and it all just felt a little silly. Not Cambria's best work by far.

Lots of laugh-out-loud craziness in this one! The chemistry between Carter and Nora is explosive. Once he claimed her, Carter was super-protective of Nora. And boy did she need it, with that jerk of an ex-boyfriend of hers. I really liked the corporate espionage part of the story as well.

This was pretty good. The Hero reminded me a bit of Romeo (from the Hashtag series). Which is always a good thing. Insta-love, OTT drama with the Heroines ex. I’m hoping the head of security and the Heroines bff get a book.
