I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
Cute start to a new series. Jamie is all kinds of awkwardly adorable and when he tries to not be ends up being even cuter. Bryce isn’t sure he can be in another relationship after what his ex did but finds the strength when he thinks about a future with Jamie.
Okay so I enjoyed the story but there were a few points that I had problems with. A few name mix-ups and contradicting statements, Bryce saying he only does one night stands but then a little bit late stating that he isn’t made for that, and his flip flopping on how he feels for Jamie, all I could see was how hurt Jamie felt. I could see who the next couple is going to be and I look forward to reading their story.
I received this book by the author and this is my honest opinion. This book was good, and was about Bryce and Jamie who get to know each other from manning there food stores. Jamie is a romantic and a little naive whereas Bryce is wary from getting burnt from a previous relationship but neither can deny their attraction. I liked this book is was a sweet enjoyable read with a little angst from Bryces past coming back on the scene. A sweet read and which I enjoyed the characters especially looking forward to Murphy's story and who's going to be able to snag him.
J'avais envie de lire du mpreg, je suis tombée dessus en faisant mes recherches. Alors, mon envie n'a pas été rassasié puisque le mpreg était un 3e plan mais on aime les romances coup de foudre avec un mec timide et l'autre non !
A super awkward omega hottie tries to show his interest in the new food truck owner with sexy names for pies. A standoffish alpha with baggage and a chip on his shoulder finds himself thawing over the bumbling omega's attempts. Can a baby and a puppy bring a forever happiness to Jamie and Bryce? The characters themselves were unique but without enough background or motivations I didn't really connect with them.
I thought Jamie's ineptitude with flirting was endearing at first. He did mature some but will always be a touch awkward so it was hard not to like him. Not liking him, at least a little, would be like kicking a puppy.
Bryce had a little more explanation as to why he was the way he was but I can't say I was a fan of how he described and thought of Jamie, constantly demeaning his importance and their potential. It certainly didn't endear him to me or make me believe his sincerity when they committed to more.
The relationship itself was quite superficial and didn't really feel stable. I'm usually okay with insta-love situations but I just didn't buy it here. When Bryce's ex came into the picture though, I loved their unity, trust, and Jamie's feisty response. That gave small glimpses into something that showed their possible potential for a solid future.
The overall story was sweet and cute with glimmers of a happy future.
Sugar Coated Omega is a sweet, heartwarming romance by Lorelei M Hart and Xander Collins.
Jamie's a romantic at heart, is adorable and awkward. Bryce is just trying to get past issues with his ex, not looking for a relationship, despite having always wanted one.
When they meet, the attraction is instant, and leads to some laughs. As Jamie's flirting, Bryce is trying to fend off his desires. Bryce knows that he's been a hot mess since his ex left and he knows he's not ready to try something with this handsome man.
This book contains an instant connection, great humor, some fun and racy named pies, a crazy ex, and an accidental pregnancy. It's an emotional ride as we see attraction, lust, embarrassment, protectiveness, possessiveness and more.
In the end, it's beautiful that although Bryce never planned on falling in love, Jamie gives him the strength to move on.
Sugar Coated Omega is a quick and fun story, by Lorelei M Hart and Xander Collins. It's well written with an entertaining plot, and some great characters.
Although the summary was interesting, the book itself was quite disappointing. I had to take so many breaks during the reading because of several things. First of all, this book needs thorough editing - there was a lot of spelling mistakes, poor sentence structure and illogicality (character names for example). But what most annoyed me were the characters. I like my characters very credible, but hey, that's just me. Jamie and Bryce struck me as very unintelligent, absurd and boring. Their best friends were mentioned sometimes so we got just a bit on them, but nothing big (just that bffs shouldn't behave like that) and there were a couple of other random characters that were so important that I forgot their names. It seems like no one can move past the usual, repetitive mpreg storyline: naive, fragile little omega meets the capable alpha recently wounded by an unsuccessful relationship, there's some unneeded anxiety in the middle, baby magically appears and they lived happily ever after... I feel like this book was written in a haste, without any consideration or paying attention to detail. I realize that this is mpreg and the general opinion is that you don't need any real plot or characters, just a bunch of sex scenes and a baby in the end (sounds like your usual hetero romance 😉 ).. But still, it's a book that someone pays money for, you could at least make it readable.
Several of my favorite set of authors got together and write this wonderful book. I absolutely loved it. I just wish I would have ready it sooner. And the fact that it proposes to be a series and appeared to end with lingering looks, I am very happy and am eager to read the next one.
This is such a charming Mpreg story with a stuttering shy sweet Omega and an big handsome Alpha determined not to allow his attraction to the Pie guy go beyond an occasional leftover snack from his Comfort Food Truck. But there is something so charming about the awkward cutie that he can't control the draw he feels. Though he definitely tries, but feels terrible each time he rebuffs delicious smelling baker.
An Omega that believed in Happily Ever Afters was discouraged about getting his own, yet it didn't stop him from enjoying rom com movies. Why couldn't life be much more like the movies? His best friend Murphy played an important role as friend, confidant, and shoulder to cry on. He never imagined that the sexy as sin Alpha would even give him a second look because it seemed he blew every chance to impress the solidly built Alpha.
Luckily for him the Alpha found this sweet tasty clumsy Omega just too irresistible. There are times when you just want to read an entertaining loving story. This is such a book. There was humor and misery, as well as a mpreg. I truly recommend it.
To my ratings (thanks to amazon I had to change it again and 'upgrade' it a little bit.):
5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow- Away-book like 'Liberty' from Seth King, 'Save that he kids' series from EM Leya or 'Jesse's Smile' from Angelique Jurd), it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books) it's like an A
3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in hospitals). I can recommend them definitively! It's like an B+
3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader, but not really an often reread book
2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time- reader (i wouldn't recommend it heartily, but it was ok) It's like a C-, D
1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an absolut NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole line, dismissed, repeat the class
This is an amazing, heartwarming MM romance and I honestly enjoyed reading it. It is about: a shy omega (Jamie) who notices a hot alpha (Bruce) in a food trailer. Bruce has noticed Jamie but there is a slight problem Bruce has been let down in a previous relationship and wonders if he should take a chance or resist the temptation. What you will find in this book is: a romantic omega (Jamie), a caring friend (Murphy), a hot alpha (Bruce), a manipulating ex (Bruce), humor, memories, bitterness, lust, attractions, embarrassment, possessiveness, confusion, longings, intimacy, plans, in heat, suppressants, naivety, emotional feelings, confrontation, lawyers, compensation, happiness, love and steamy scenes. The characters are quite well-developed with individual personalities and react with realistic emotional feelings to the situations, they find themselves in. The story-line and plot is well-written and entertaining. I look forward to future books from this author hopefully; the next book will be about Murphy. I would recommend this book.
This is a quick cute story with an interesting premise. Jamie is so shy and sweet even when he is babbling but Bryce is a bit odd and not very likeable. There isn't an emotional connection between them and their relationship seems very rushed. I wish there was more interaction between them and that the story didn't jump ahead so much. The lack of editing made it difficult to follow at times but as I read an ARC that may have been rectified before it was published. The writing style is a bit disjointed at times and doesn't always flow very well but I like the storyline. The cooking and baking is great and I would love to have some of those recipes! I also loved that Bryce used an Instant Pot when was cooking breakfast for Nick. I like the secondary characters and I look forward to reading Murph's story.
Ok soooo my first ever Omega mpreg Book and I loved it!!! I think this was the perfect story to pop my mpreg cherry! It was adorably delicious, sweet in all the right places and such a fun read!
Jamie is the shy little thing that’s a fumbling mess around the new hot Alpha in town and for him, love at first sight does exist! Bryce the alpha is left with heartache after his ex got pregnant with someone else, but gets hit with lust when he see’s the cute little nerd fluttering around the food lot. He tries to deny it, but who can resist a sweet smelling omega. It’s insta-chemistry and the beginning of a fantastic story!
If you love romance, babies and cute dogs, this is for you!!
3 stars. Very, very cute and quick read. I loved that both Jamie (great name btw) and Bryce were food truck owners and that Jamie baked pies. It was just all so adorable. I thought the relationship was cute and the ending had me cheesing like a moron. My main gripe with this book though was Bryce. I didn't really care for his character that much. The hot and cold/push and pull thing was annoying as hell when poor Jamie was wearing his heart on his sleeve. I don't know, he just rubbed me the wrong way and I felt like he definitely the weakest character wise of the two.
Other than, this was cheesy and so stinking cute. I'll read the next book when it comes out because I am a sucker for sweet omegaverse stories like this.
When you see a cute guy who works in a store, booth, or food truck across from yours, you just want to sit and stare at them. That's what both the pie guy Jamie and the meat guy Bryce want to do. They both have their food trucks, they both think the other is cute, and they are both worried about what could happen. Jamie is cute but awkward, Bryce is worried about messing around with a co-worker, and being a food truck owner in the same lot is close enough to a co-worker for Bryce.
I love the way that Jamie flirts with Bryce, starting with the name of the pies. Sounds like a kind of pie I'd like to try. Bryce is really protective of Jamie, and I love that he gets his own back against the evil ex.
Great story, and I'm pretty excited to see where the series is going to go.
Damn this book was funny, awkward and sweet! I had a blast with characters and how they came together, I also have a craving for all those foods mentioned!
Character breakdown;
Bryce: being scorned and left bitter can definitely suck but depriving yourself of a possible chance at happiness? Is not cool at all. Despite that I loved Bryce the was fun to read, and I now want some Mac and cheese cupcakes lol.
Jaime: fun and awkward it was cute to see him babbling and try being sexy and flirty. It was also painfully embarrassing but I laughed more than cringe so that's a win in my book!
Great book lots of laugh, food and love. I cannot wait for the next one!
Bryce is an Alpha who is starting over. Jaime is an Omega who wishes that real life romance was like it is in the movies. They both are attracted to each other but both are holding back.
This is an achingly sweet story about two people who want to be together but because of the naivety of one and the pull of the past of the other hold back, miscommunications lead to some angst like behaviour which once they adult up brings on the HEA. The characters are sugary sweet and engaging, they are lovely together, the pie names are fun. I read this in one sitting it was perfect for an afternoon of reading. This is a highly enjoyable book.
Okay these two were cute together but I need more. I liked the characters & secondary characters, I can't wait to read about Murphy, I really loved him. Jamie is so awkward & just so adorable. Bryce is still trying to get over what his ex did to him, and boy did he do a number on Bryce & I could see why he was gun shy. What I needed more of was world building. We don't see much of the outside world. Also, I hate in mpreg books that a lot of them gloss over the pregnancy, labor & really ends with the birth. Hopefully we will see more of them in the books to come.
Boy meets boy. They're attracted to each other. They have sex, get pregnant, then move in together and have a baby. The physical attraction is well written. I liked the characters well enough. It felt very fated mate like. If you like that sort of thing, you'll probably like this.
If you want an emotional connection between characters, "you complete me" feeling, that's not here. There are no problems they can solve for each other besides loneliness, and no common ground besides sex. (Yes, they both like cooking and learned from grandmas, but they don't bond over it.)
This is the first book in The Food Trucks of Love Series. I have to say that I was a bit disappoint in this book while the writing was okay. There was more sex than story or relationship building. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters interesting. Bryce is an Alpha and Jamie is an Omega are the MC’s of this book. I needed more story and detail to have completely enjoyed it. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.
Delightfully sweet Alpha and Omega romance. Jamie and Bryce find their way to each other in a cute and fun journey. Good writing and a sweet story-line.
I loved the creative pies and comfort foods that created a basis for these two lonely nice guys to find each other.
I want a pie that is named ' I'd Lick This Chocolate Pie off your Abs'!
i will be hoping for Jamie's friend Murph's story soon!
I was gifted this book from the author and i freely give my review.
This book made hungry. I mean, seriously, two food trucks with everyone's comfort food and they shared some delicious moments with 'the food'! Not that I didn't recon some other delicious moments between these two. They're too adorable, these two! It's a sweet, a bit cheesy (the way I liked it), and low angst. If you're looking for a comfort read with an alpha that can't resist the omega's cinnamon smell and loads of comfort food, read this book! It's yummy!
A new book and series that I've really enjoyed and looking forward to book 2! It's a light hearted read with some great characters, both MC's and the best friends of both. We experience a range of emotions from love to a few tears. It's a low angst story and a really easy read but I love that and it made it even better for me to get into and enjoy. I recommend giving this one a go and you'll eagerly await the next story too! I received an ARC and am happily giving a review
Jamie and Bryce were a fine couple, each one came with their own set of problems but they worked around them and it was fun to read. Jamie has a romantic sould and no social skills, he's painfully shy but tries to do something about it even if most attempts are awkward at best. Bryce on the other hand is a cute guy living in today as the past holds way too may painful memories and regrets. I liked their food trucks, ideas for the future and how they dealt with problems together. Sweet story.
Keep your expectations low, and you should be fine with this one. It's a silly piece of fluff, but that's exactly what I expected, nothing more. It was fine most of the time, but the few conversations with Bryce's ex felt like someone else had written the dialog -- way too stuffy sounding from all voices involved, and completely out of character words and phrases. Only a couple annoying homophones throughout, so bonus there.
A super cute and sweet story that I really enjoyed. Jamie is a really shy omega and it's really cute how nervous he gets around Bryce that he can hardly talk. Bryce was deceived by his ex and isn't looking for a relationship but he can't resist Jamie. A great story with very little angst and a great HEA! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Sweet mm alpha-omega mpreg romance. An omega lacking confidence and an alpha wary of being burned meet at work then later hook up in a club. The alpha is resistant and the omega gets more bold. Typos: verb tenses, missing word, comma that interrupts sentence flow, sentence fragment after quote, sack used for sac, to for too, missing comma after clause, flare for flair.
Cute start to a new series. Bryce is an Alpha and Jamie is an Omega are the MC’s of this book. I love how adorable and awkward Jamie is Bryce has been burned and doesn't want to get close to anyone. They met at the food trucks, Jamie offered pies, and Bryce offered comfort foods.Entertaining and Enjoyable story.
The story was solid, but there were several grammar mistakes. My other issue, the plot was ok, but it got over taken by sex. You give me a third of a book with sex and only a line to describe a birthing? Not sure if I will read anything more from this author.
Jamie and Bryce are great characters . Jamie is awkward and shy but so adorable when trying to flirt. Bryce is sexy and although hurt from his past, can not deny how he is attracted to the Omega. This sweet and sexy story is definitely recommended.
