This novella consists of four short stories about the same couple. Each if them takes place about three months after the previous one and focuses on a new phase in the couple's relationship.

Aside from the first one - that I think moved way too quickly - I really liked the pace of the stories. All of them focus on the relationship between a struggling film student and a successful businessman but Bryant Park is always a side character to every important moment between them.

I liked the possessiveness that Brian showed and his insecurity about whether he was enough for Isamu was in such a contrast to the rest of his character that it was interesting to see.

Isamu was a proud man, he struggled to prove his worth and stay self-sufficient and he did it to the point of almost collapsing under the pressure. In the end though his efforts were rewarded and he made a smart decision about his future and a generous one for a new friend.

The stories aren't overly angsty but there is enough happening to keep the reader engaged. There are a few side characters and with how short the book is it's impressive that the author managed to include them and give them a personality. Especially Isamu's mom and her chin...

The book doesn't end on a cliffhanger but rather at a HFN point that will satisfy many readers. For those wanting more, though, there's another book coming out in a few months that focuses on Bryant Park and this couple. I always like those kinds of books that let you decide if you want more or not without leaving you hanging at the end of each installment.

I look forward to reading more about Brian and Isamu and their "Tales of Bryant".

Full review tomorrow.

I first read the start of this story in the excellent charity anthology Love For All Seasons which came out last year and which raised money for The Matthew Shepard Foundation and The Albert Kennedy Trust.

V.L. had given us the start of Isamu and Brian's relationship in Brioche for Two and it was ridiculously cute.

Now, with Tales of Bryant, she gives the rest, following a similar seasonal format as we see them pass through from dating, to getting serious, to the trials and tribulations of a relationship and to their Happy Ever After.

This isn't a long book but it's still packed full of character development, ups and downs, sexual connections and emotions and it brings New York to life in vivid detail.

#ARC kindly received from the author in return for an honest and unbiased review

I was pretty sure that I was going to like this one but I have to admit it turned out to be one of those sleepers that just kind of crept up on me and took me by surprise as to how much I really, really enjoyed it...full review to follow soonish!

Apparently, I missed out on the first part of this story when...

it was published in the charity anthology ‘Love For All Seasons’ last year..my bad. The story was titled ‘Brioche for Two’ but not to fear Ms Locey in her wisdom has included that story here in ‘Tales of Bryant’.

Along with the characters and how the author presented this story I loved how entangled ‘Bryant Park’ was with Isamu and Brian’s relationship. It was there and yet it felt like such a subtle. but strong thing connecting so much of what happens in these stories.

It’s in ‘Brioche for Two’ that we first meet Isamu Taylor the struggling film student and hard-working barista who’s had more than one fantasy about sexy, successful playboy and businessman Brian Gilles who calls to order coffee and brioche delivered to his table across the street in Bryant Park on a regular basis. For as confident and successful as he is when it comes to approaching Isamu that confidence seems to go into hiding.

I have to admit when it comes to age difference and an imbalance of power in the relationship dynamics I’m not as fast to leave the room as I use to be but I can still slip out the door with the best of them but sometimes for whatever reason a pairing or something about them will catch my eye and when I slip out of the room it’s with a copy of the book in my hands or more accurately loaded on to my e-reader and that’s what happened here.

There was something about Isamu and Brian that caught my eye and tugged at me to read…’Just read a bit more,’ my inner voice whispered ‘you know you want to.’ and what can I say I did want to, so I held out my grabby little hands and said ‘Yes, please. I would like to read this.’ and here we are…in Bryant Park watching as two men…one a film student and the other a successful ‘CTO’ do that dance that happens when two people first notice each other and while they may not be sure how…one or usually both of them know somewhere in their heart that if they’re patient and they take the time to work on it things will work, they will fit with each other in a way that others didn’t. It will be a thing of beauty.

Each of these stories covers a season in their lives as ‘Brioche for Two’ takes us from late winter into spring where we see those first few awkward steps as Isamu and Brian begin their dance. I however realized that I was hooked before those first steps were ever taken. My heart was engaged, I wanted to see this relationship…to peek at these snapshots of their life together.

‘Towers of Moonglow’ follows these two from spring into summer as they get to know each other better, spend more time together

‘Pastels of Autumn’ gives a glimpse of Isamu and Brian’s relationship as life demands more and more making their time together more challenging to have and more precious when they get it.

This is life…how many of us can honestly say that we haven’t had a time when we felt that the world was conspiring to keep us apart from the person, we love and want to be with the most. Haven’t wondered if they loved us enough to stay around? When we’ve questioned whether or not the price of our goals and ambitions wasn’t more than we were truly willing to pay…

Finally, in ‘Dusting of Love’ we get the answer and so much more.

Telling a story through snapshots of time like this can be a really challenging task and one that if not handled well can leave the reader feeling like maybe they didn’t get to see all of the pictures they needed in order to get the whole story but when all was said and done I felt like I not only got to see all the right pictures, but I was left holding the photo album…all except for that one last picture…the one that’s not fully developed yet but if I’m lucky and patient it’ll be ready soon and I’ll get to see it added to the album.

Tales of... woww what a tales these are!!

Isamu and Brian, four seasons, a delicious love story.

Isamu, twenty years old, is waiting for that one phone call. The same order as always, two fresh brioche and coffee delivery at Bryant Park across the street. The order comes from the beautiful thirty two year old Brian Gilles, CTO of a web design company.
Brian ask Isamu out to diner.
Try to picture the difference between two men, one with tape on his shoes to hold them together and the other with expensive clothes.

Before our eyes reveals an utterly attractive relationship. Two totally different men so smitten with each other. They have a strong connection, they fight, make hot and steamy love and enjoy each other to the bone. Just like me Isamu wonder... Is this even possible?

I was thrilled by this story, two opposites attracted to each other. Written in a enchanting way, I was glued to the pages. Their personalities good developed, just in the right way for this story, Brian as an enigma and Isamu as an open book.
Their story was quite moving, sexy, captivating and full of sweetness and witty comments.

Tales of Bryant by V.L. Locey is a love story spanning a year that never feels like four short stories brought together in one novel; instead, it feels like a birds-eye view of a relationship that begins with lusty attraction and develops into something deeper and longer lasting. I could not love Isamu more than I do after reading this novella. He not only provided the humor—a perfect foil to Brian’s aloof and slightly colder demeanor, but he also was the catalyst for Brian revealing the pain in his past and taking a chance on love again. Their relationship is a classic example of something that should never work, yet did so and remarkably well.

Tales of Bryant is a lovely romance that will easily become a reread for me when I am looking for a sweet, comforting novella to escape into at a moment’s notice.

If you are looking for a story so sweet you have to brush your teeth after, look no further. OMG.

Isamu works at a bakery. Everyday a New York socialite, Brian Gilles, places an order of brioche and coffee to be delivered to Bryant Park. Isamu literally waits by the phone to be the one who gets to take the order and walk it across the street to deliver it in person.

On this wonderful day, Brian orders two brioche. Two coffees. When Isamu delivers them, Brian asks him to stay. And the sweet story begins...

I loved how this was set up in four separate sections. It allowed the reader to be taken from the start of the relationship to the middle, through some tough times, and to see a HEA. The characters' dynamic was inspiring. They were no where near perfect and neither was their relationship, but it was real. Even in the bad times, the connection was there, the love.

I love how V.L.'s writing just effortlessly flows and takes you into the lives of her characters so seamlessly. I loved both Brian and Isamu for being so raw and real and touching. And Brian really touched me at how sweet he was. Always.

A great story, a definite recommend.

I was given a copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

My feelings about this book are mixed. I love Isamu. The twenty year old film student is all colour and passion and I wish I could bottle his youthful joy and hope. As a new adult coming of age story, this works beautifully. Isamu’s journey from broke student to abused intern is immediately familiar and I love the uneasy tension between his ambition and self-doubt.

My reservation about this story lies with Brian. Twelve years older, I kept feeling like he was humouring Isamu without ever really believing in him. In the first novella, he’s Isamu’s unattainable crush - and it works. But I quickly lost faith in him in the subsequent stories. I kept feeling like Isamu forgave too much and I didn’t feel any sense of balance in the relationship. Brian is cold and a bit harsh. We don’t get any vulnerability from Brian until there are already several reasons to strongly dislike him. Right to the end, I kept hoping Isamu would make better choices and stand up for himself a bit more.

But this is a coming of age story more than a romance. And ultimately, most of us make ill advised relationship decisions in our early twenties. Isamu’s story is worth reading because he is a fabulous, beautifully developed character. And in the back of my head, I’ll be imagining a proper HEA for an even more fabulous 35 year old Isamu.

Liked Isamu, he wasn't pretentious at all but it took me a long time to warm to Brian I'm afraid 😕. Loved the ending, and I'll definitely try and fit in a visit to Bryant Park the next time I'm in the Big Apple [and who knows which century that'll be 😉...].

The first little story, Brioche for Two, college student Isamu is half in love with Brian Gilles. A CTO of a company across the way. He only get small pleasures in life right now with being a college student. Deadlines, no money...you know. But delivering brioche and coffee to Brian is the highlight of his day. He's absolutely gorgeous and just seems so nice. So when he made his delivery this day, he was surprised Brian and him to join him. And then he asks Isamu for a date. A date! Isamu is so excited but scared silly because Brian is so out of his league. He's rich and Isamu is a college student who's struggling. But somehow he and Brian work. Brian let's him be who he is, even when he wants to pay and Isamu doesn't care about his money. The chemistry and passion they have together is amazing. But can it last?
Isamu had made a comment in the story about how he feels like Cinderfella. Being way out of his league, he feels like Brian is. But the truth is Brian is a sweetheart and good for him. They get along great and have a chemistry that is amazing. It's a sweet little story. And a reminder of don't judge a book by its cover. You never know who someone truly is until you get to know them.
In the second little story, Towers of Moonglow, Isamu is freaking out because his film got picked to be shown publicly with some other student's films. Brian is supposed to be there but he's forgotten when Isamu speaks with him on the phone. It's even more important because his parents will be there to meet Brian. And Isamu doesn't know where they really stand. Are they just screwing or are they more?
It's hard when you don't know where you belong in a relationship. You question everything. Are you just a hole to fill or are you actually loved and desired for more? I felt so bad for Isamu. His nerves are a wreck, some student he thought he could have as a friend hit on him and made him uncomfortable and now his mom is evil eyeing him constantly because of the age difference with Brian. But all he knows is at the end of the day, he wants Brian and is falling for him. Now he just has to see if Brian really loves him. And I think Brian just proved it.
Pastels of Autumn, Brian and Isamu are growing closer. Or maybe not. Isamu is working himself to death, they hardly see each other anymore, and when they do it's snippy comments. So Brian tricks Isamu into delivering a delivery for him like from before and it's time to talk. Isamu is afraid Brian doesn't really love him, because he doesn't say it and feels like after their fight maybe Brian is tired of him. Brian has to set him straight in a way only he can to get through to Isamu.
It's a relationship. It's new. It's a difference of cultures and classes. The kinks still have to be ironed out, but communication is the key with both of these two. And it's a lesson both have just learned. Instead of talking it out before, they let if fester until it came to a head. Thankfully, they fixed it before it was too late. Because anything worth having is worth fighting for.
Dusting of Love, is the final season of this book. It's winter time. All the work Isamu is doing is still killing him but it's Christmas so he wants a tree and decorations to enjoy the holiday. But Brian is being Scrooge about the whole thing and Isamu is getting annoyed. He's really annoyed when he finds out Brian lied and there are no decorations in storage. When he goes out to buy what he needs, he runs into Devon, the guy who kissed him and made him uncomfortable, and found out Devon isn't doing well. At all. So he brings him home to help him out and ends up in a fight with Brian. And Brian ending up drunk. Well, him being drunk reveals some secrets that explains a whole hell of a lot and Isamu is stunned. And don't know what to do. Devon is about to end his life, Brian hates the holidays, for good reason and everything is just too much. But an idea comes to him and hopefully it will work.
Relationships are hard as hell. Especially when there is major baggage. All of us have baggage but some more than others and it can bleed into everyday life. It's understandable after all. It shapes us into who we become, if we can overcome it. It leaves scars or hurts that sometimes can never be healed. But communication is always key and we need our loved ones to understand our hurts to get past and beyond them. For Brian and Isamu, it's been a tough year. Four seasons of love, fights, passion and so much more. They've learned, shared and grown into who they are now. It doesn't mean there isn't more room to grow or that things won't be difficult, but they are learning and trying to communicate, which makes all the difference.
It's a wonderful little story made up of seasons. It's real life in story land. Life isn't easy and neither is love. But true love and the person that makes us better is worth fighting for.

"Tale of Bryant" is a set of four short novellas following a year in the life and love of struggling college film student Isamu and wealthy executive Brian. Their love story begins in NYC's lovely Bryant Park and this setting has a role in each of the stories.

The romance between Isamu and Brian is deeply sensual and very erotic, and since Isamu's camera goes everywhere with him, much of their lovemaking is filmed:
I was all kinds of into having our love and passion captured on film. We'd made hundred of shorts over our months as a couple. Most were edited into one long rambling flick of sex, passion, and love that - to the trained eye - had changed since spring. There was more depth of feeling in our expressions now when we were making love. I guess that's what changed. It had grown from slaking a need to making love.
The passion between Isamu and Brian really drives the plot, but at times Brian acts like a bit of a jerk, and since we really don't get an insight into his background until the fourth story, it's hard to really get a sense of what drives his personality. Also Isamu is way too stubborn about not accepting help at times; however, the author does a beautiful job of showing this couple go through good times as well as bad and taking those difficult steps to make their relationship work.

The flow of the story feels just right and the ending beautifully caps off this sweet and sensual romance. 4 stars for "Tales of Bryant."

This is a story that is split into four seasons.
Spring is a lovely tale of first dates and new attraction. Isamu is just adorable with his crush and even more so once he realises the feelings are reciprocated.
Summer finds the relationship moving on, but it’s still in flux and finding its feet. There are more struggles here as they fight disappointment, unwanted advances, and parental disappointment.
By Autumn we start to learn more about Brian. He’s still somewhat grumpy and serious but there are flashes of the ice thawing. Isamu is proud and Brian is stubborn.
Winter was… aww hell. Winter was perfect.
I love the way the camera is almost like a third character, or a way of filtering Isamu’s feelings or framing important moments.
What can I say, this was four snippets from a new relationship over the space of a year. But they were snippets that were perfectly chosen, pivotal points of the relationships that made the in between time inconsequential. This is a lovely excellently crafted tale.
Highly recommended

Tales of Briant contained four novellas about Brian and Isamu. Their first meeting made Isamu crush on the older man, waiting every day for Brian order his usual, two brioche and two coffees, actually made his days. Until one day, Brian asked him to join him for a coffee Isamu brought for Brian.
Then their no relationship - relationship started from there.
Tales of Bryant surprisingly sexy and a little erotic in my opinion. The way Brian courting Isamu, was something some people wish for.
Short, but sweet and adorable, not to mention sexy, Tales of Bryant is something that you don't want to miss. Especially if you're a New Yorker, and familiar with Bryant Park.

Tales of Bryant seems deceptively simple, with its trope and familiar characters. However, V.L. Locey’s well-crafted prose may fly under the radar, imperceptible to the casual reader – even as we immediately fall in love with two men. These guys demonstrate how to seamlessly meld differences of upbringing, finances, age and culture.

Told in four short stories, one for each season, Locey follows Isamu Taylor, college student and bakery delivery boy who daily brings Brian Gilles two brioches and coffees. Isamu fantasizes he might share the goodies, while acknowledging, “Men like him-rich handsome, early thirties, New York executives, probably had tall blonde fashion models lined up. They didn’t go chasing after debt-ridden twenty-year old Japanese-American film students who used purple duct tape to keep their sneakers held together.” A single sentence predicts upcoming conflicts.

While Brian’s job is to coldly hire and fire, Isamu is an immature, gentle lad who, like his polite mother, “argues with (his) chin.” But these men’s personalities aren’t just captured by perfectly executed phrases and actions. We discover Brian’s true character through Isamu’s camera lens.

Equally, Isamu is exposed despite (rather than because of) his self-narration. Brian’s occasional remarks about Isamu give readers perspective on the split between our self-perceptions and others’ opinions of us. As each guy realizes what makes him special to the other, they both try to live up to their partner’s loving reflection. And their sacrifices prove the old adage; intimacy DOES stand for “into me I see.”

While ‘Tales of Bryant’ remains unsentimental, it delivers a huge punch. Expect searing commentary on the burdens befalling gays in their families and careers. A low angst plot builds tension through everyday happenstance, like an overworked lad trimming a Christmas tree. Until, finally, Isamu notes to himself, “My life began to resemble the inside of a dryer.”

In sum, Locey’s superb writing is so smooth we barely notice we’re reading, not watching one of Isamu’s films. And Tales of Bryant has a continuation I’m breathless to read, Nine Small Sips, which Locey indicates is forecast for summer 2019

Hot and Sexy!

I read the first short story in this group of four when it was published in a charity anthology just about a year ago. It was a great one with a nice HFN (happy for now) ending. At that time the author stated her intention to publish more short stories about Isamu and Brian and I was so happy to get to read Tales of Bryant.

The book contains the original short story and three new ones about Isamu Taylor and Brian Gilles and spans their first year together. Brian and Isamu's relationship is a great age gap story. While the age difference between them is only 12 years, there is a significant difference in their social standing. Isamu is still in college while Brian is a successful businessman.

The stories are told in first person from Isamu's perspective. The connection between these two is pretty hot and the film they make for Isamu's school project in the first story – WOW! In the second story Brian is supposed to meet Isamu's parents but it almost doesn’t happen which causes tension to mount. The third story is about Isamu's struggle to balance work, an unpaid internship, his schoolwork and his lover. In the fourth we finally learn more about Brian's background.

I have to say that I really enjoyed these stories but felt that Brian was more than a bit of a jerk at times. It seemed like Isamu was doing most of the giving in their relationship except when it came to money (but he did try to pay his own way as much as possible). We pretty much get an understanding of why Brian is the way he is but he wasn't fully redeemed in my eyes.

I'm looking forward to the next book about Brian and Isamu, Nine Small Sips (A Tales of Bryant Wedding) coming in June 2019. Perhaps Brian will become fully redeemed in this one.

An advanced copy of this book was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.

This collection of four short stories once again proves that VL Locey is at the top of her game. The first story, Brioche for Two, originally appeared in the anthology Love for all Seasons: A Charity Anthology and, as a stand-alone short story was satisfying enough. Or so I thought at the time. Until I had more. Only when all four stories were combined were the true complexities of the characters revealed.

Brian . . . what can I say about Brian? Sometimes I didn’t like him very much. But, as with all of us, his moments of ugliness had an origin. Adding to his redemption was his evident love for Isamu, which spilled over throughout each of the stories. Isamu himself was a realistically-portrayed, proud starving-student; from the duct-tape on his shoes to his lack of wardrobe options, I suspect most readers will feel a certain kinship with him as they remember that time in their lives.

Each of the stories reflects a season in the characters’ lives. As in real life, there were ups and downs in each season and these were crafted in a way that allowed the reader to feel the joy and heartbreaks, while rooting for the couple the entire way.

The happiest part of finishing the book, for me, was reading that there is another chapter en route. “Nine Small Sips (A Tales of Bryant Wedding) is coming in June, according to one of the last pages in the book. This almost (but not quite) eased my book hangover as I truly did not want to leave these characters’ lives just yet.

I love the descriptions of New York in this collection of short stories. I thought they were very vivid, and made me feel as though I was there. The motif of seasons linked the stories together well, and fit their relationship nicely too, in the different ‘seasons’ of them together getting to know each other, and building trust between them.

I liked Brian and Isamu together, and their very obvious passion for each other. I also liked the realism of their relationship, especially Isamu’s fear that talking about fidelity and confirming what they have is serious might scare Brian away. Using Isamu’s perspective to tell the story meant I as the reader learnt more about Brian as he did, although I thought Brian’s actions showed a lot about him and his motivations. I liked how he did open up to Isamu about his past, and how they argued about things and had to adjust to how they each approached life and situations that came up within their relationship and the wide world around them, rather than everything being all smooth sailing and sweet.

Brian and Isamu’s story is a feel good, sweet, yet realistic read, and although I did find there was a lot of sex for my taste, for the length of the stories it didn’t detract from my reading enjoyment.

I’d recommend Tales of Bryant to readers who enjoy a feel good sweet, yet realistic romance with likeable MCs.

Isamu is broke, but he's a hard worker and manages somehow to get by day to day while going to school for video photography. Working at a bakery, he meets Bryant an older, but still young , man who has made it in life and now is wealthy and has a high paying job. He has spent some time in Japan and is drawn to Isamu's beauty. He has played fast and loose for many years, but something about Isamu draws him in and he wants more. Isamu isn't looking for a sugar daddy, and doesn't look at Bryant that way. He is drawn to the man behind the stoic being that he is attracted to and things move quickly toward a relationship. It isn't easy for Bryant to express his emotions to Isamu and that leads to Isamu having self doubts about himself and their relationship. Three seasons pass with sexy good times and growing love, but neither man is able to tell the other what he feels for him. Winter brings on a culmination of their self doubts and Christmas arrives with an unwelcome guest, anger, and spilling of secrets. A well done story and glad I read it.

I met Isamu and Brian in an anthology a while back and loved them together, so I was excited to read the rest of their story. That meeting starts this collection of quick reads which spans the first year of Isamu and Brian's relationship. I had a hard time warming up to Brian through a lot of this book. He comes across as arrogant, snobbish, and unbending. That said, he's a bit of an enigma and often goes from one extreme to the other with Isamu, who is used to stretching a dollar till it breaks, yet is vivacious and happy with his life. Our cranky older man does redeem himself later in the story, and we get the missing pieces of why he is the way he is as the book progresses. In the end, I did come back around and the hopeful and happy conclusion was just as it should be for this pair. Plus, we get the added bonus of some sexy fun with this couple, and they are certainly compatible there regardless of age, income, or lifestyle.

This story has everything I could want in it.
All four seasons are represented and in each one we get to watch as Brian and Isamu's relationship evolves and grows.
We get to experience the ups and downs , the good times and stressful times.
We get to be voyeurs in their intimate lives which I must say are HOT!
There were times when reading this, where I was smiling, sad, upset *Phew it's hot in here*, wanted to cry , hug the stuffings out of them both or smack them upside the head and tell them to "snap out of it!"
The only expectation I had was that Ms. Locey would give me a spine tingling, frustrating, wonderful ride. She gave me all that and more !
I won't tell anymore. You must experience it for yourself.

I received an Advanced Readers Copy for my honest review.

Such a sweet story. If you want escapism this is the book for you. Think Cinderella, with hot mm sex 😈 This is the book you need to take you away from all the crap going on in the world today.

It's a lovely romance, a high flying, fabulously wealthy guy, falling hard for a poor, struggling student. Be still my beating heart 💓

Isamu is an absolute delight. He's already crushing on Brian big time, and he can't believe what's happening. Basically, what you have here is a feel good, beautiful story which will make your heart melt. There's no big drama, or angst. Just two guys overcoming their differences and falling in love.

Talk about the 'Le sigh factor 😍.'I cannot recommend this book highly enough.

This is a story told in four parts, one for each season, each a short story of its own. All the stories happen, in part, within Bryant Park. Isamu is the young film student, and the narrator of the stories. Brian is the (somewhat) older and successful man. (Don't worry! This is not a May/December story. Brian is only in his early 30s.) The stories are erotic and romantic, building on themselves. I enjoyed the storytelling, the way the characters and relationship developed. It's a solid 4.5 stars, rounded up to 5.

This is not a novel. This is not a full story. This is a collection of short stories. No, it doesn't have all the details and everything that has ever happened. Months pass between the stories. Seasons pass. If you are looking for a novel, this is not the book for you.

From that review:Tales of Bryant (Tales Of Bryant #1) by V.L. Locey is a sweet contemporary love story told by the seasons, sectioned off starting in the season where rich handsome executive Brian Gilles asked out (finally) film student Isamu Taylor in Bryant Park in NYC.  Then it follows them through the seasons of their blossoming and sometimes struggling relationship, as they adjust to each other and the differences in their economic status, their intense schedules, commitments or even perceived lack thereof.

Tales Of Bryant is an interesting book by VL Locey.

Different from the authors' typical style, this story tells the romance of Isamu and Brian through snippets from each of the four seasons. Even better, they all revolve around New York City's Bryant Park.

The relationship between Isamu and Brian is a wonderful one, as their age gap is well explored, and the character growth is fantastic.

The author perfectly captures the charm and uniqueness of Bryant Park. As a busy spot in the city, it's the perfect place to center this unique romance.

Overall, Tales of Bryant is a sweet, quick read.

Isamu, a struggling film student and Brian, a wealthy businessman, are complete opposites. The storytelling is so different as we follow their budding romance during 4 seasons, via 4 novellas. We first met Brian and Isamu in Brioche for Two, an adorable short written for the charity anthology Love For All Seasons. Now their story has been expanded. I completely fell in love with Isamu. He was so sweet, and although a bit vulnerable, he was also quite strong. It took some time, but as Brian opened up to Isamu about his past, my heart broke for him. The HEA was sweet 🥰, and I'm looking forward to the follow up, Nine Small Sips (A Tales of Bryant Wedding), out June 12.

As Isamu notices at the beginning of the book, his story resembles Cinderella, the gay version of it. Only,he soon finds out that the behind the scenes of the fairytale aren't always rosy and dreamy. Despite how much Isamu and Brian want each other, they have to face the differences between their situations, and it's hot and entertaining seeing them work things out, overcome doubts and insecurities.
I've had a lot of fun reading Tales of Bryant. It's a brilliant story with funny, charming characters and a beautiful, steamy romance.
I loved it!
