Aiden McNamara once sold his soul to a beautiful spy. Now she's back to claim it. An expert at uncovering spy rings, Bree Russo McNamara is now labeled RED—retired, extremely dangerous—by the CIA. With her specialized skill set, she’s found a new home with Shadow Force International, but her current assignment may be the most challenging of her life—recruit her estranged husband to join SFI’s spy division. She just has to remember not to shoot him first. Former Navy SEAL Aidan McNamara never intended to marry a smartass spy, much less the sexy agent provocateur he met in Vegas five years ago. Having been at the heart of Bree’s last undercover op that nearly got them both killed, he knows better than to say yes to her request. But when has he ever denied her anything? As the two join forces to bring down a notorious spy ring inside the United States, will the passion simmering under the surface of their damaged love affair expose their deep cover mission? Or will they once more end up strange bedfellows—and adversaries—in a lethal game of covert ops? About the Shadow Force A group of former SEALs, abandoned by the United States and labeled as rogue operatives, now work as a black ops team performing private intelligence, security, and paramilitary missions for those who have nowhere else to turn. What would you do when you meet the other half of your soul, but circumstances and guilt drive a wedge between you that seems impossible to overcome?
That's what Aidan and Bree would like to know. They met one weekend and had a whirlwind romance that resulted in love, something neither were looking for, and, in Bree's case, worried would last, as everyone else in her life seemed to leave her.
Aidan, a SEAL at the time, eventually began working with Bree, their combined skills making them an almost unstoppable team, until Bree was held hostage and tortured and Aidan sacrificed himself to save his wife.
Though they're currently separated, nothing being made official, the love has never faded and their hearts ache for the other every day, but sometimes, things are better left as is. Or are they?
When Bree's boss sends her after Aidan, she isn't exactly eager, but she does accept as she feels she needs to redeem herself for recent mistakes that could have ended tragically. As for Aidan, he has mixed emotions upon seeing his estranged wife, not the least of which is that since they've been apart, he's been working on taking out the man responsible for what happened to her, and is now working undercover to make his final move. Not that she can now that.
It seems both have secrets they're not sharing, but being together again brings their love rushing to the surface, and each knows they're better as one. The question is, if they'll live long enough to get the second chance both dream of.
One-click now and follow along as soulmates work their way back to each other, overcoming each obstacle thrown in their path.
**I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.**
4.5 Stars Getting to know Bree through the previous books I couldn't wait to read this one. I enjoy a good second chance romance. Aidan and Bree had me right from the beginning. I was gobbling up the pages. Aidan and Bree have been estranged, but with Bree's new assignment to recruit Aidan things are going to get interesting. Forced to stay close together has those sparks flying, but will their past come between them once more. This has everything I could ask for. It had the feels and the romance I love, but it also has moments that kept me on the edge of my seat. Some twists that I didn't see coming, but also proud of myself I figured one out. I love this spin off series. They're quick reads that leave you satisfied.
What an exciting and intriguing adventure, full of action, protection, some special sweet moments and plenty of hot, sexy, steam I’ve come to love from everyone at SFI.
Aiden and Bree are proof second chances can be deadly but totally worth it.
I loved the resort setting and Bree’s Uncle is an awesome character, I also loved the plot twists I didn’t see coming.
Okay. Weak story. It was as if I was reading from middle of the book. I had no idea how Aiden & Bree met or if there was any sub-plot for them in other books which I missed.
This is the 3rd book in the series. I would make sure you read California Violent Crimes Taskforce series first. Then the SEALs of Shadow Force series before reading this one.
The heroine knew the hero was going to be stubborn because when wasn’t he? And he was true to form, but she understands he’s onto something but he won’t let her in. Hopefully she can get him to go with her to work with her employer.
Our hero only wants to protect the heroine as he loves her more than he loves himself. He’s on a black op to capture or kill the person who took both of them and tortured them both before disappearing on them. He’s determined it wouldn’t happen again, but with the heroine around who can say?
The plot is hard to understand the hero’s mission at first, but before long you understand what’s going on. Both our hero and heroine want to protect the other, but are stubborn and reckless enough to put them both in danger. Can they bring down the spy ring and saving their marriage or will everything go down the drain?
This is the third (and last at this point) from this series. Overall it wasn’t bad, and you did keep reading, but I’ve never heard of a man being so consumed with only having eyes and protection instincts on the heroine.
I love books about married couples and second chance romance so Man Down by Misty Evans was such a treat for me! And married spies? Yes, please!
Man Down features Aidan and Bree, both former spies and an estranged couple. Bree is trying to convince Aidan to leave her uncle’s spa as head of security to work for Shadow Force International, hoping it will get her back in good graces with her boss. But, that task is proving harder than anticipated. Aidan is working on some other plans of his own and always trying to keep Bree safe in the process.
Man Down went fast for me. I found myself flipping pages and getting caught up in Aidan and Bree’s story, trying to figure out what would happen. I didn’t trust anyone around them. My favorite part was when Bree tried to pull a fast one over on Aidan and he was expecting it. I love how much they could read each other. I loved their chemistry together and sure hope to see more of them in future books.
If you are looking for a romantic suspense story that will have you turning pages, falling in love, and on the edge of your seat, give Man Down a read.
Once again, the author gives us a story that will keep you guessing and on the edge of your seats . Bree Russo McNamara is a former CIA agent who now works for Shadow Force’s spy division. Aidan McNamara is both a former Navy SEAL and CIA operative. Bree and Aidan are an estranged married couple who still love each other but have kept their distance and haven’t seen each other in 2 years. Their last mission not only almost got them killed but also left a great deal of guilt, as well as physical and emotional scars. When she seeks him to make an offer, they find themselves once again working together . Will they survive and be able to restore their marriage, or will the evil that almost caused them their lives the last time, win ? Another winner in the series that keeps on getting better each time. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
The suspense that runs through this novel is a lighter element than the romance, but boy can Misty Evans do romance. The thing I like best about her relationships is that even when they aren't perfect, the couple respects one another. Of course, there is so much more to offer including a great dance of chemistry culminating in a great love scene. The steam that fog your glasses does not block out much. Bree and Aiden both live for danger and love one another enough that Aiden's sacrifice almost cost his life a few year earlier. Bree does not believe she deserves love, much less that kind of love. The suspense offers several treat twists and stomach tightening danger.
This is a second chance at romance suspense book, with some action. There are a few twist that added more intrigue to the storyline. Bree and Aiden have been estranged for two years. They never had a conventional marriage, that started with a wild weekend in Las Vegas. Bree referred more than once it was her fault Cassandra, Shadow Force’s attorney, was seriously injured. That incident took place in Man Killer, the second book in this series. I am confused, as it was a spy named Nicola Russo, not Bree Russo, that was assigned to cover Cassandra. Why did the author switch her name?
"Man Down" is the third book in the SEALs of Shadow Force series and it is loaded with action, suspense, passion, and romance. Bree Russo McNamara known to the CIA as RED, which means retired, extremely dangerous, and she currently works for Shadow Force International spy division. She has been tasked with the job of recruiting her estranged husband, former Navy SEAL Aidan McNamara to join the SFI spy division to help bring down a notorious spy ring in the United States. Can she convince Aidan or will their past get in the way?
In the next book of this series, we meet Bree and Aiden, a SEAL who's country forgot about him. Bree, a super secret squirrel spy who's supposed to recruit her estranged husband. During a Vegas weekend 5 years ago, Bree and Aiden were married and if she failed in her mission to bring him on to Shadow Force, what will become of the duo? Superb writing, as always, great at keeping the story going and keeping you invested in how it ends.
Wow! Another FANTASTIC story by Misty! This one is about Adrian and Bree. Bree was tasked to recruit her estranged husband to Shadow Force. Things get dicey and it was a shock to find out who the sleeper agents were. Beatrice seems to always get what she wants. So glad the good guys were able to save the day again! FANTASTIC job Misty! I would highly recommend this book!
As usual Misty writes a great book. I love Beatrice as a boss and instigator for her agents finding what completes them. I adore Aiden and was so happy to see him get his wife back into his life even though it took a group of Russian spies to do it. Bravo Misty. I only wish the book had been longer .
Wow this gripping, full of action and suspense story has you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens. Bree has one mission only and that is to recruit Aiden. Does she manage this? What happens between her and Aiden? All will be revealed in this great book which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Man Down (Seals of Shadow Force Series :Spy Division) Misty Evans
Another suspenseful story in a very intriguing series. Plenty of twists, turns, and surprises. Strong characters who have you pulling for them to come out on top. A can’t put it down until the end.
Another winner! Loved this story! I found Bree and Aiden's story compelling and read this in one sitting. If you enjoy the genre, you will love this book. The author is on my must read authors' list.
A quick read that grabs your interest from the start and never let's go. Full of suspense, action and renewed love. Love this series and am never disappointed by this author. Another great must read!
