Pickles Tails Vol. I is Brian Crane's first collection dedicated to the beloved Pickles family pets, Roscoe and Muffin, and their wily ways. This hardcover collection, the first in a two-volume set, contains the daily and Sunday strips that feature Roscoe and Muffin from Crane’s earliest work in 1990 through 2007. This volume tracks Brian's early days with the Pickles appearing in black-and-white, to the beginning of his full-color Sunday strips. All of the beloved Pickles characters are here, playing, cuddling, gently scolding, and loving wholeheartedly their favorite furry friends!
This isn't a comic I remember seeing in any of the papers I read regularly over the years. Fun to see how the style changes: Roscoe got cuter, Opal and Earl got younger, and also more current in clothes, Sylvia stops wearing glasses and gets a prettier hairstyle (less of an 80s business woman vibe) and Muffin's outline is smoother.
2021 bk 363. I love the Pickles comic strip in the newspaper and have been a longtime fan. This book is a collection of the comics that focuses on their relationship with their two pets, Roscoe and Muffin. Covering the period from 1990 to 2007, the comic strips will tickle your funny bone and require out loud chortles and laughter.
I savored this book; read a few comics a day. Some of them are laugh out loud!!! Pickles is my favorite comic strip, and this book about the hijinks of Roscoe and Muffin is a hoot!
