This is a Clifford Book. My kids love the TV series and will read the books. My daughter brought this one home from the school's library. It was a bit over her level, so I read it to her. She sat quietly through the whole thing.
The book centers around Clifford and his family moving to Birdwell Island from their home in the city. The city was too small for Clifford and they needed more space. The book shows the characters talking about how big and scary Clifford is. It also introduces the reader to some of the repeating characters in the show. All of whom, think Clifford is going to be a problem for them.
The book is written like a long poem. This I think helps the children pay attention and stay focused. My husband added in his own rhymes. he's a dork.
I liked the writing style. The book wasn't too long to lose the attention of a small child. I also liked the message in the book. Don't judge of a book by its cover.
