Accidentally Wolf is book one in the Mystic Wolves series by Elle Boon. This book is also available as a two book set containing books one and two of the series.

Dr. Cora Welch has a small veterinary clinic so it was a natural thing to do when she came upon a young wolf cub caught in a trap as she was coming back from a run. She freed the cub and was attempting to carry him back to her clinic to tend to his wounds when out of fear he bit her. Little did she realize that this little cub would change the course of her life.



Cora was felling ill, like a bad case of the flu. At the same time, a group of men that were probably all the best looking men she had ever seen, came to her clinic to claim the cub. They insisted that they care for her to repay their debt for caring for the cub. Cora doesn’t want their help but she didn’t seem to have much choice in the matter. She can’t take her eyes off of one of the men in particular, Zayn Malik. She literally wants to climb him like a tree and lick him all over. It’s Zayn’s home they decide to send her to so he can care for her.

Zayn (isn’t this an awesome name?) feels instantly drawn to this little human woman. He feels protective of her and possessive. But he does not want or need to feel this attraction to a human. Zayn is a wolf shifter and is part of the Mystic River Pack in South Dakota. His older brother, Niall, is alpha of the pack.

Cora’s sickness is caused by the bite from the cub. If Zayn can keep his distance and not bite her again, she will recuperate and never suspect she had anything but a virus. But if he can’t control himself which is becoming more and more difficult, and bites her again, it will complete the transition and she will become a werewolf just as he and his pack are. He is determined to keep his distance but a very determined Cora makes it impossible.



When Zayn is forced to tell Cora what he and his friends are and what she has become, she finds it hard to accept, until she watches Zayn transform for her. I want to say here that I loved the way this author has illustrated the way these shifters change back and forth. Instead of it being a painful process, it’s a beautiful one. I could just imagine how it would look and how beautiful they were in wolf form.

Cora doesn’t have a family and isn’t proud of her past. She loves the closeness that Zayn and his brother share with their other pack members. But what will he do when she tells him of her own history? Will he be disgusted with her and change his mind regarding his feelings?

On top of everything else, Cora finds herself caught in the middle of a bid for power with a rival pack. She hasn’t learned how to handle her new power and has no way to protect herself. So she is forced to trust that Zayn will save her.



This was my first Elle Boon book ever and I really enjoyed it. It was fast paced and you couldn’t help but love the characters. Cora and Zayn had chemistry like crazy and they were hot as heck. Yes, this book had plenty of steam and I loved it. Each book in the series is about a separate couple with the underlying story theme continuing throughout. I am going right on into book two, His Perfect Wolf, which will be Zayn’s brother, Niall’s story and I can’t wait.

What a fun book Accidentally Wolf was. Werewolves and the Fae have always been a potent combination and Elle Boon’s style of writing just made this genre even more interesting.

Rescuing a wolf pup from a set trap should have been an easy day at work for veterinarian Cors … rescue the pup, carry him back to her clinic, set the break and then set him free when he’s healed. But, she didn’t expect the pup to bite her when she went to free him. Now, a fever, sexy-as-sin tattooed men and lust has taken over her life. What’s a woman to do but go with the flow.
As for Zayn … well, he enjoyed woman, he enjoyed sex but a mate was never, ever in his future. There is no way he would tie himself down to just one woman. And, a human – never would he contaminate his pure-bred line like that. What was it about Cora that had him hard and wanting nothing more than to complete the mating ritual. Her taste, her scent, everything set him off. When she begs to be taken, he can’t hold back and the damage is done. She’s now an accidental wolf.

Drugs, a rival pack and a woman that drives him crazy has Zayn trying to protect his pack, answering questions he never thought he would have to answer to and protecting the one person that has become his life.

There was so much right with Accidentally Wolf. The Mystic Wolf Pack is filled with nothing but hot men and the woman who love them. Some Fae, some human and mostly wolves.

Elle Boon wrote this story with the style and humor that I have come to love in her books. Yes, there may be some drama thrown in but she always makes her female heroines strong-willed and intelligent. There is no “woe is me” from Cora and Zayn definitely stepped up to the plate turning her and bringing her through her first shift. It was a fun read that kept me intrigued and smiling. Since there were so many ways she could have brought this story, I just kept turning the pages to see what direction she was taking me. Now, on to His Perfect Wolf. Will Niall, the alpha of the pack, open himself up to the possibility of finally finding love again and leading his pack with a woman and his son Nolan beside him?

I adore all things paranormal romance but shapeshifters are my absolute favorite. I have been a fan of Boon's writing since I had the pleasure of reading her Ravens of War series. I'd recommend that series if you are looking for paranormal romance with a bite and a highly creative spin on Greek mythology. I guarantee you'll never see Zeus the same way again :). But back to Accidentally Wolf. I very much enjoyed this relatively short tale about a moody, broody and sexy alpha wolf, Zayn, who unexpectedly finds good mate in a human woman. Cora was totally not Zayn's type. She was too sassy, too skinny, and most importantly, too human. Zayn didn't disdain humans so much as he could never see himself mated to one. The very human who saved his nephew from a vile bear trap set my evil shifters. The story was fast paced but contained a good depth and a lot of fodder for future stories in the series. I really want to read Niall's story. He is so painfully sad and needs a good woman and sweet little Nolan needs a mother to replace the one so tragically lost. Accidentally Wolf was an excellent start to the Mystic Wolves series. My only complaint is that I wanted it to be longer but I'm greedy that way :D

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!

I bought this book about 5 months ago because the cover grabbed my attention and the blurb sounded awesome. While the cover is fabulous, not once in the book did it mention Z having tats.

This is the first book in the series, and I loved it!! It is a novella, and it is for adults only due to the steamy content. It is also the first book I’ve read by Elle Boon, so I’m definitely going to be picking up more of her work and checking it out :) I loved her writing style and humor. The world she created fascinated me, and I definitely want to go back to that world.

Zayn is definitely an alpha male though not the Alpha of the pack which is his brother. Cora is a kind hearted vet who is very spunky, and I love her character. There were a few other pack members that were awesome like Nolan because who doesn’t love a cub :) and his dad Niall. There is plenty of action to grab your attention and hold on until the end where you say, but I want more!!

I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves good wolf shifter reads because you will love this one!!! I can’t wait to pick up book 2 in the future when I get paid :)

Unfortunately this one didn't really work for me. I found the worldbuilding a little brief, the dialogue stilted and the relationship between the hero and heroine really rushed (so I didn't really see or feel their connection). I see a lot of people liked it though so it is probably a case of it just being me.

I really enjoyed this premier novel in the Mystic Wolves series. The men/ wolves are steaming hot and the Alpha is a widower with an adorable cub. What's not to love, right? Add to that, their was that wonderful sense of pack, the alpha is even close to his former in-laws, which I thought was awesome! (And I can see a book in the future)
I loved Cora! She was a wonderful contradiction. Small and trim, but strong and fit. Outwardly tough and confident, but truly, insecure and lacking self-confidence.
Watching Cora and Zayn dance around their attraction, especially while Cora was fighting her "fever" was hilarious, but watching them give in was... (clears throat) better keep it pg 13 here.
Just when they are finally working things out, a rival pack throws a wrench in the works and almost ends
their romance before it has a chance to bloom.
Pwhew! Action, adventure, humor and hot, hot shifter lovin'

After the beginning part of the book it got a little boring especially towards the end. I've already read a few of Elle's books and it seems that the hero tends to treat their mates badly in the beginning and then the heroine falls all over themselves to be with them. It would be better if the heroine makes the hero work a little more to get her.

I'm going to move on to the next book in the series, but I don't hold out any hope for this one either because already in the first book he kept going on and on and on about how he misses his true mate who died when their son was a baby and how he would never love again because she was his only one and there could be no other. Already that doesn't bode well for the heroine and, again, I'm thinking that she's going to just fall for him like he wasn't some big jerk to her. Maybe I'm a sucker because I'm holding out hope that this next story will be better and I'll love it after all? That's why I read romance because of the HEAs.

What is better than a new book from Elle Boon? A new series by Elle Boon!! If you know me at all you know how hard I love this author, and this book just makes me love her that much more.

Cora is a vet who finds a wolf pup in a trap. She brings him to her clinic to care for his injuries and she gets bit by this little guy. This little bite opens up a brand new world for her.

Zayn never thought in a million years that rescuing his nephew would change his life forever. He never thought he would want a mate and tries all he can to deny her, but instinct wins everytime.

I read this book in like an hour. I just could not put it down. I am so looking forward to the next book in the series and whatever wonderful things that come out of Elle's gorgeous brain! A must read for any paranormal fan!

This is the start of a good series, however my only real negative is that the book was too short.

Cora and Zayn are destined mates and therefore at the sight of each other fall into insta-lust, even though Cora is technically running a fever and is ill due to the fact a werewolf cub has bitten her.

The book moves very quickly and although Zayn resists a little at first with the connection between them, Cora's persistence very quickly pays off.

We have both the good guys and the bad guys in the book and Cora soon finds herself in a spot of trouble, where Zayn and his brother along with the pack help her out.

This book does not end on a cliff hanger, but you do get the idea of who the next book is going to be about.

Please overlook any typos that may be included in my review. I’m 2 weeks past due for a manicure so I’m clawing at my cell phone screen like an uncoordinated bear. Gotta get my nails taken care of but it’s summer break and I’m playing “world’s best mom” to my kiddos this week.

Cora is a veterinarian who rescues an injured wolf pup along a trail while running. While she’s prying the pup from a trap the wolf accidentally bites her. This puts into play a cliche yet fun story about insta-love (insta-lust) between Cora and Zayn (wolf pup’s uncle who comes to find him). As in any paranormal romance you must accept certain unrealistic aspects and this was no exception. At parts it’s downright silly but still enjoyable. I’d have preferred a bit more plot and character development.

Cora finds a wolf cub caught in a bear trap. Who knew helping this cub was gonna turn her world upside down when the cub bites her. Enter Zyan who seems to open mouth and insert foot far more than he realizes. He fights the mate calling but he fails. Now will Cora forgive him or even love him he is not sure because she is an accidental wolf, that everyone seems to want . The story has some great humor, some wild excitement, and some steamy passion. What more could you want from a story. I would recommend this book to all my friends.

Cora is a veterinarian which means she loves all animals. She finds a very young wolf in a trap and thank goodness he is young enough, the trap doesn't trap him like it would if he was an adult wolf. She takes him out of the trap, taking her coat off and put the wolf in it. While walking back to her clinic the young wolf ends up biting her and that's when the story starts to unfold slowly. She has no clue that the young hurt wolf is really a shifter and if a wolf bites you, that you will end up becomming a wolf most of the time. I laughed when she was in a towel after just taking a shower and she walks out to check on the young wolf and her clinic is full of wolfs and a very handsome hunk of a man. A man that makes her forget that she is in a towel and she becomes very attracted to this man. This man is Zayn, a wolf shifter and that young wolf is his nephew. Cora's whole world is changing and she has no clue just how much her life is changing.

This book had fantastic characters who all had a sense of humor but also could be serious when needed. I laughed at Cora and Zayns' relationship because both are very bull headed and Zayn wants to watch over Cora and take care of her but Cora is a strong woman and she don't need no man to watch over her, well at least that's what she thinks for now.

Zayn so wants Cora. He wants to make love to her. He wants to know how she feels. He doesn't need a mate but the more and more he is around Cora, the thought of not having a mate starts to disappear and is replaced by getting a mate! He wants Cora as his mate. But he has to explain that one bite from his nephew means quite a bit. Cora does need help and Zayn is the one who will help her and pity anyone who gets in Zayn's way.

This book has plenty of energy and you can feel the heat between Cora and Zayn come right off the page. I love how they try to ignore their growing feelings for one another. Both are very bull headed which made me love the book even more. I can't say enough about how good this book is and I can't wait to read more of Elles books! This book kept me interested and I just couldn't put it down!

When Cora gets nipped by a wolf cub, she as a vet thinks nothing of it , until she wakes up with chills and fever ( fever that makes her want to jump Zayn’s bones and ride him like a pony )!! Which is totally unlike her !! Zany knows she’s in mating heat from the shifter bite she received, will he hold back and allow her to return to humanity or give in and bite her again and become her mate ?? Loved the give and take in this book, the do as I say, not as I do, is totally hilarious. The sex is hot and the learning curve of becoming a shifter is swift !! 4⭐️‘s !!

Elle Boon IS fast becoming one of my favorite authors. I love the wonderful spin she adds to her books. Her writing keeps you spell bound from the first page to the last page, It is a have been up all night read. I am waiting impatiently now for either a wolf or raven release. These wolves were an unsuspected surprise. I loved the unique tale and quirky humor of the book the one liner’s are great and the strong spunky leading lady that makes you want to you show them what you got.

“Yes, if I kept scratching him the way she was sure that he’d roll over like a little domesticate per and bed for her to rub his stomach.”

Cora- the local vet at Mystic River out for her morning run finds a lone wolf cub caught in a bear strap. After freeing the cub she attempts to pick him up where she gets bit. Do to the pain he is in after making it back to her clinic she cares for him and starts to feel bad after a bath she hears a noise and finds a man (sexy as hell) holding the wolf cub

Zyan- finds his nephew at the vet’s clinic drugged and with a Band-Aid. He was about to leave when a women in a towel shows up demanding to know what he is doing with her wolf. After realizing that she had been bitten the take he back to care for her. Can he stay away from the hot women that’s not his type or bite her again and turn her into his mate?

Can Zyan resist core who wants him?

Will Cora’s scent drive Zyan crazy enough to forget what he wants?

All I can say about this book and this series is I WANT MORE! I loved what I just read and decided that I had to stop everything and just write my review. I have read several books by this author and she just keeps getting better at everything that she writes. I just got lost in this book and didn't want to put it down. I don't give a five star to just any book. I have given this book a five stars because there wasn't a ten.

Cora Welch is a veterinarian and loves what she does. She was out during her run for the day when she caught up with a little wolf with his paw stuck in a trap. She knows that she will be taken the wolf home with her and cleaning up his paw. Boy was she surprised when she got out of the shower in a little towel and ran into a naked man in her apartment. I could say that I would probably do the same thing and I would notice other things that I shouldn't have before I passed out.

Zayn is the brother of the alpha of the Mystic Wolves pack. He knew he had to save his nephew because he had lived through the death of his mate. They find out that Cora was bitten by the little wolf and he had started the process of turning her into what they are. If only Zayn had controlled himself and not bitten her. I can't say that I'm mad about it. If I was then this story wouldn't have got written.

The author did a great job showing what was going on between both of them. There was no way that they could be together and not have hot passionate sex. It made my sheets get hot. I know I was really fanning myself. If I could ask the author just one question then my question would be When is the next book coming out? Please don't keep me hanging and waiting forever for the next one.

As with all of Elle Boon's books this is starting off to be an out standing series!. The story line is amazing!. The characters are incredible!. Cora a veterinarian is out for her daily jog when she comes across a little wolf caught in a trap. When Cora tries to rescue him he accidentally bites her. Cora manages to get him back to her clinic, but then becomes ill. Cora goes to check on the pup only to find a sexy hot Man holding him. Zayn is a wolf shifter and he went looking for his nephew only to find him injured at a vet. clinic. Zayn knows Cora is meant to be his mate but he fights it because she is human. But she has been bitten so his brother the Alpha says she must be watched over. Now can Zayn keep his hands and fangs to his self because if he bites her she will be fully turned.Soon he looses the battle and takes Cora as his own making her an accidental wolf lol.
Now they have another problem as another pack has taken interest in Cora now that she is his intended mate. Can Zayn protect Cora from the other pack? Can Cora and Zayn make their mating work? . You need to read this book! You will get so engrossed in this book you will find it very hard to stop reading! . Elle Boon is such a wonderful person and writer. I wish I could give this book 10-stars!

Cora: Human, veterinarian, strong minded, doesn't take crap from people
Zayne: Werewolf, 2nd in command under his brother the Alpha (who I LOVED), Owns 1/2 the bar with his brother in Sturgis, rides a bike and is covered in tattoos.

The book started off kind of rushed, but I quickly got sucked into the story. It is the perfect setup for a series and leaves me salivating for what will happen next with these characters and this pack. It doesn't end in a cliff hanger, but it has a lot of loose ends to be dealt with in the coming books in this new series. Zayne and Cora had some steamy moments as well as comical ones. I enjoyed learning this new pack and seeing how they would handle Cora. I am really really wanting to read Niall's book. He intrigued me more than any of the others.

All in all this was a fun fast read and will keep me on the look out for the next one. The characters were like family together. The story though is a wolf shifter paranormal had its own unique elements. I would recommend this book to all my PNR lovers in a heart beat!

Cora finds herself at the mercy of Zayn after finding and helping a young wolf caught in a trap who bit her. She has a crazy fever making her say and do things she usually doesn't, but what happens after the fever breaks?

Zayn doesn't want a mate, and he's not attracted to this woman. Nope, no sir not at all... yea right he wants he more than he's ever wanted anyone human or not. Will he give in to what his wolf wants or will he let her get away?

Cora is a self assured woman who doesn't let people just tell her what to do. She can take care of herself, but she does know when she actually needs help.

Zayn is a cocky man who thinks he knows what he wants until what he needs comes slamming her way into his life.

This story brings you into a shifter world. But where I found the story lacking was the details. I would've liked to see more background information on the characters as well as the shifter world. Overall what was there of the story was interesting I just would've liked to see more.

Cora thinks she must have the flu but can't understand her urge to clime Zayne like a tree and never come down. Zayne knows exactly whats happening but Cora is not his type. She's human and to fragile for him but his wolf knows what he wants...to claim what's his.
This was a good start to a new series with a couple of twists that make this paranormal shifter world different from the others out there. The chemistry between Zayne and Cora is hot enough to start flames. Cora is a strong heroine and she's going to give Zayne a run for his money. There's some really good secondary characters. I loved little Nolan I wanted more interaction with him in the book he was so sweet. I'm hoping that Niall's (Alpha and Zayne's brother) book is next in the series.

Accidentally Wolf (Mystic Wolves #1) by Elle Boon Veterinarian Cora Welch is accidentally bitten by a young wolf she rescues from a trap. Zane Malik needs to make sure that Cora gets through the fever without receiving a second mark after the one his nephew gave her. The question is, will Zane be able to resist her even though he is not interested in a having a mate.
 
I like Cora. She handles the information she learns well. She is brave and likeable. Plus, I have respect for any fellow animal lover.
 
Zane is an entertaining hero. He is strong. I like that, he values his family. Once he sets his mind to it, he goes after what he wants.
 
Accidentally Wolf is a fun short story that is easy to finish in one sitting. It is well-written and feels complete. I have read a lot of shape shifter books, and this one felt unique.
 
This was the first book I read by Elle Boon. I would definitely pick up another one by her after reading Accidentally Wolf.

Accidentally Wolf is a well written, engaging and descriptive tale. Zayn is a hot scrumptious werewolf. He's not Alpha but holy cow he is definitely an alpha in my book. Cora reacts as you'd expect a woman to react in that situation. As a veterinarian she'd hope the wolf cub wouldn't bite her, but she wasn't surprised. Enter Zayn, who comes to rescue his nephew, who she can't keep her tongue off of, LOL. A tasty treat evidently.

Elle Boon brings you right into the story and keeps you there. A believable world with sadness and joy and lots and lots of sexiness. Oh, and bad guys too! Normally werewolves are immune to lots of stuff, drugs, alcohol, etc. Not so much in Accidentally Wolf which makes this an unusual and a don't put it down read.

I'm eagerly awaiting the next in the series. There are peeks into a further story so I hope it is just as good as this one.

This is the first book I have read from this author. The story line about Accidental Wolf was intriguing and well written. If you like wolf shifting stories that have hot steamy moments this book is for you. The chemistry between the two main characters is believable and entertaining. From the time they meet, they felt an attraction for each other. This book leaves you wondering about something's that might be coming up next for these two and since this is book one, we will find out in the next book. Leaves you wanting more.

I love Paranormal Romance, and wolf shifters are always soooo HOT!!!!

Take-charge Alpha males, strong, sassy women and a smart, witty dialogue; make for a fast paced read and never a dull moment!!!

The foundation has also been set for the next instalment with a mysterious foe lurking just out of reach, and dangers that are ever present but never in plain sight.

Overall, a great start to what I’m sure will be a sexy, action packed, fun series that will keep readers coming back for more!!

I loved this book! Zayn and Cora are thrown together by a bite from Zayn’s nephew. At first Zayn denied wanting Cora to his brother and Alpha Niall. But when she went into her heat of changing to a werewolf, Zayn could not stop himself. I have loved every book Elle Boon has written she is an amazingly talented author and I will definitely read all her books.

There was promise, but then the author just left too many gaping holes lying around. I'm going to use the same review for both bk1&2 because frankly, they were much the same. To the point that both h's (and the sneak peek we saw of the h for bk3) all 'love purple!' The stories were different mostly, but the characters and the way the stories unfolded and interacted were so close that it was irritating. H wants her, but is lying to himself (and everyone), h overhears and does a runner... enter trouble here. H realises he won't let her go, but is still too much of a macho moron to talk to her about it, so enter more angst there. And on it goes in both books. And lots of convenient characters or plot issues show up, and then vanish, never to be heard from again, or explained. So yes, if you don't mind missing pieces, and holes big enough to fall into, these books will suit you fine. But if you like some consistency and brains, perhaps you might like to look elsewhere.

I liked this start to a good shifter series. Brothers Zayn & Niall (the alpha) came to Mystic, not far from Sturgis (famous city of motorcycle fame) opened a bar and Niall mated with Emma (now deceased.)Emma's Dad was the Alpha and stepped down for Niall to take over. Cora, a human and veterinarian, finds a wolf pup stuck in a bear trap, frees him and carries him back to her office to treat his broken paw but not before he bites her out of fear. She becomes sick and Zayn, Niall and other good looking shifters from the pack find Niall's son, hurt, and in shifted form inside Cora's hospital. His nephew started the change in Cora...Zayn recognizes his mate immediately and brings her back to his home to nurse her back to health. He knows what she is suffering from after all.

After a tumble in bed with this strong, muscle bound man that she is finding it hard to resist, she climbs out of bed to hear him say so someone that he doesn't want her. She sneaks out and goes for a drive to clear her mind and get away from him for a while. Well, that is where the trouble starts...and Zayn goes after her to find her and ends up having to save her from some rogue shifters who are in the area. You can imagine what comes next. A nice story, lots of secondary characters and back story to build a good series on. The characters are strong, interesting and likable. I only wish the story was longer and they took a little more time fighting the attraction before giving in. But hey, that is me.

I think the only thing that was a bit weird was the author's use of Goddess in place of God. "God, you have no idea how mad I am right now." vs. Goddess, you have no idea how mad I am right now." I get that we are all of different faiths and have the right to be respected for our beliefs but I find it very jarring when I read a sentence with Goddess at the beginning of it. I immediately think he is addressing her with a nickname. It is just not something you hear very often. I know it is small but it does pull you out of the story for a minute...every single time.

Name aside, I liked the story.

Accidentally Wolf, first book in the Mystic Wolves is second book from Elle Boom and it was fun, filled with humor.

What a fun book Accidentally Wolf was. Werewolves and the Fae have always been a potent combination and Elle Boon’s style of writing just made this genre even more interesting.

Cora a veterinarian doctor rescued a wolf pup, carried him back to her clinic, took care of his wound and made him comfortable. In return he bit her when she set him free from the animal trap.
She didn't expect to meet the pup's owner or to react to him the way she did. On top of running with a high fever she was horny too.
Zayn was not looking for a mate, a human mate would have been his last choice but he couldn't stay away from Cora.

The plot follows Cora ad Zayn and their unusual mating.
When Cora was attacked by some rogue wolves I didn't get the reason behind. It felt a little bit unresolved to me.
Same for their mating, Cora was too accepting and understanding for my taste and Zayn a little bit of a jerk...

Overall the story was good but the holes in the plot and lack of a clear ending left me wanting for more.
A good thing though was that the love scenes were hot between the two of them. Zayn and Cora had the insta-lust going on for them and a fast track to love.

I am curious how the Alpha Niall is going to deal with his guilt, feelings or wish not to have them, so to speak.
