First let me say that I was blown away by Matt Moss's previous SF effort Alterlife. I thought that it was an amazingly well-written story that reminded me so much of Ready Player One and Tad William's Otherland series. Here Moss hits it out of the park once again, this time turning his attention to Fantasy of the dark and epic variety. I'm happy to say that this book just further cements Matt as an author to really watch in the genre and he continues to make a significant mark with his books. A more lengthy and formal review will be forthcoming very soon.
Is Victor a LSD trip version of the first Pope? Good character development and plot. The showdown was definitely expected and the time it it took to get there was worth the wait. Read the jacket for the rest but more importantly read the book. I think you will like it.
I love this story. I got lost in the characters and the world in which they live. It sucked me in from the start. Fantasy can sometimes feel removed to me with its places and people that aren't real to this world. This book is a wonderful blend of all that's great about fantasy and everything I love about relatable characters and real world problems. You'll sense some mirrors to our world and theirs and I love that!
This book has started what will be a great opportunity for the author to build a career, there was a feeling that star wars placed a lot of stuff in the story but I did enjoy
I couldn't get this book. It seemed a collection of ideas and plots that have very tenuous links in order to make the overall story. Some parts seemed to be part of an abridged original. A regular typo of the word lie instead of lay was annoying. Just didn't work for me.
