A Frozen Guide to Music is a good introductory guide for elementary children that want to learn about music. The guide is set up to be used with a keyboard, but it explains how children can get assistance from a caregiver with downloading a free app. This book introduces the concepts of keys, staff, notes and note names, pitch, and beat. There are a variety of suggested hands-on activities that use either a keyboard or household items. These opportunities to practice will reinforce the concepts discussed in the book. Children will love the familiar characters from Frozen and will enjoy the activities presents in the book.

This book hits that sweet spot of having high-interest characters and few books on the subject (especially this thorough) for the target age. There are tons of activities to apply the concepts taught in the book. Great for any kids interested in music, and for music teachers.
