This is a debut novel and I must say, it was an interesting book to read, it had intrigue and romance, a plot line. A decent villian. The setting for the story was the Maldives. I loved the idea of the concert whilst exploring climate change and ways people could think about they can make a difference. The romance never got too saccharin. The author has also left it open for a sequel/s but has also finished on a note that it can also be read as a stand alone book. I look forward to learning more about the families and seeing what is in the future for Romeo and Yasmine.

Wanted in Paradise is a suspenseful romance novel by Kate Ashenden.

SUMMARY:

Shocked by family tragedy, Jasmine Hartwell returns home with a need to do something meaningful with her life. Romeo Moretti, the only man Jasmine has ever loved, but could never have, is now an international singing sensation, adored by millions. However, he is disillusioned with his fame and decides to use his high profile for a good purpose by hosting a benefit concert in the Maldives, which will be broadcast across the world.

It has been five years since Jasmine and Romeo have seen each other, but a heartbreaking twist of fate leads to a reunion between them. Romeo whisks Jasmine away to the Maldives, to help with the concert’s publicity, but their path to success is fraught with challenges and danger, as they battle to resist their burning desire for one another.

Wanted in Paradise is a novel that entices; you will be on the edge of your seat once you start reading about Jasmine and Romeo. Jasmine, the protagonist, is the type of character you will quickly come to love. She has been through so much in what seem like such a short amount of time, and even from the beginning all I wanted to do was give her a hug. But the great thing about her is that she is so strong and determined that you know she doesn’t need a hug to survive. She is able to fight on her own. My favorite thing about this book is its characters; they are well-rounded and you can effortlessly feel the romantic and sexual spark in the air. I quickly rooted for Jasmine and I became addicted to her romance with Romeo.

I like this book. Kate Ashenden writes well; her strong suit is her use of setting. The location she uses in the novel is filled with descriptive detail. The main plot is well established and her characters make her storyline especially interesting. I do wish certain details about the plot were more fleshed out, such as the story’s ending. The pacing, while fast, is slow when first reading. I did have a hard time getting into the story and it did take me a minute to realize exactly what was going on. The prologue started off in a letter format which confused me as well. I did eventually understand why the letter was important but I do think the story should not have started off in that way. Other then that, this novel is exciting and passionate. I suggest this book to anyone who is looking for a steamy, adventurous and romantic novel. This book teaches you that you cannot plan out your life and no matter what, things may be different from what you thought they would be.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy from the Author. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Wanted in Paradise by Kate Ashenden is a wild and passionate story of love, for the girl who fell for her boyfriend's brother.
Will Jasmine and Romeo ever be happy together or will guilt keep them apart?
Jasmine
Jasmine is our main character. She is young, smart, and good looking. Jasmine has been in love with Romeo for a long time but feels that they can't be together because she lived with his brother, Diego for a while. After Diego disappears, Jasmine reaches out to Romeo to offer friendship and condolences. I think this is sweet. It shows the caring side of Jasmine.

Jasmine and Romeo work together on one of his charity concerts but there is a part of Jasmine that doesn't feel as though she fits in. This is where I get aggravated at Jasmine. She could summon the courage and talk it out with Romeo but she chooses to try to hide her feelings. I feel like she allows herself to be a pawn in everyone else's fight against Romeo.
Romeo
Wanted in Paradise CRRomeo is of course our other main character. He has a lovely singing voice and heart of gold, yet he is also possessive and holds his feelings in. Romeo has put his loyalty to his brother before his own happiness. The question is, however, does his brother deserve Romeo's loyalty? Romeo does a lot of growing throughout the story and I was really glad when he decided to stand up for what he wanted.

The one thing that bothered me was that all the people who wanted to cash in on Romeo's behalf. That is probably something that happens when you are a celebrity. However, I thought it was sad.
Four Stars
Wanted in Paradise by Kate Ashenden is full of suspense, danger, thrills, and romance. I thought the story moved along at a good speed, but there was something missing for me. I can't put my finger on what. However, my favorite parts have to deal with the bad guy and how he hid in plain sight. Therefore, my rating for Wanted in Paradise by Kate Ashenden is four stars.

Thank you for dropping by! I hope you enjoyed this review of  Wanted in Paradise by Kate Ashenden.

Until the next time,

This book was an on the whim grab. I'd seen it for free and wanted to check out the author since I hadn't heard of her before. I'm truly glad I did! It was time well spent reading. I got a great read and added an new author to my list of authors to read.
So, the start of the book was a bit confusing at first. We have Jasmine writing a letter to her cousin Reyna, talking about dating Diego and her friend (her Diego's brother) Romeo. It confused me for a minute because the blurb implied that it was Jasmine's and Romeo's story. However, the first chapter reveals things and the confusion was quickly forgotten.
Jasmine has been through a horrible experience when visiting her cousin in the Philippines. Her love for Romeo is known in the very beginning when she thinks he's in the room with her while she's recovering.  However, this moment changed Jasmine. The way she viewed the world. The way she viewed her life. Struggling with PTSD, she tried to find her place in the world. Then she sees a news report about her ex boyfriend and her love interest's brother. She reached out to the man, both out of concern and wanting to offer comfort, but also wanting to see him again.
When she laid eyes on him for the first time after all years apart, she was almost stunned by the waves of euphoria and love that surged through her.
When Romeo offered her a job to help him with his benefit concert he was trying to get word out about, and the chance to heal, that's when things really change for her. She's back on an island and a beach. Jasmine had convinced herself it would help her heal. Though, in the back of her mind, she wanted the time with Romeo to see if there could be anything between them.
This is where the real story begins. The minute they board the plane to the Maledives. There was friction between Rupert, Romeo's publicist, and the staff helping with the concert. Romeo was captivating to watch work but then when they were alone together things got weird. Not in a bad way as in the writing, but as in Jasmine was wanting more and Romeo was avoiding it.
This book had me holding my breath several times as things started to go array with the concert site and someone trying to use Jasmine for their benefits. Then there was Rupert who was just plain nasty. I didn't like him from the start. Clive, project manager, was funny. A drunken disaster sometimes but funny.
There was a point that I had to set my tablet aside and walk away because the emotions were so intense. The ability to connect to these characters was easily done with the author's writing. I was able to visualize their surroundings (and longed to visit myself).
If you're looking for a read that holds you by the heart and gut, takes you through the wringer to the point you yell at them to "Just realize it already!" to an HEA then this book is for you. I loved every moment of this book and will be looking out for more books by this author.

Jasmine has lived through hell after surviving a typhoon in the Philippines losing her cousin and friends in the disaster. Jasmine lives each day but feels sad about the loss; when she hears of an old friend Romeo Moretti has lost his brother she reaches out to him expressing her condolences and offers her help. Romeo asks Jasmine if she would help with a benefit concert in the Maldives and Jasmine goes to provide what assistance she can. Jasmine is excited by the beautiful surroundings but things aren’t as great as they seem and for some reason bad things keep happening to set back the concert. Also Jasmine and Romeo’s strong feelings for each other are tested at every turn. Can Jasmine and Romeo figure out who wants to sabotage the concert yet still manage a relationship with each other even with everyone and everything trying to pull them apart?
This is a good second chance story written with much heart and depth. At first the book jumps around a bit from the past relationship of the main characters to the heroine suffering through a natural disaster, the hero losing his brother to running off to an island. Eventually it all evens out even with the choppy writing style and too many things going on that are crowded into the chapters with haste. Luckily, the author is able to portray each location with amazing accuracy so it’s not hard to imagine or picture them all. The characters are nicely written and do develop even with so many things happening. Jasmine the sad and lovelorn heroine makes it difficult not to pity her but has an alarming strength about her that will make you cheer for her. Romeo the caustic avoidant hero is not really winning us over. Sometimes it makes us wonder what Jasmine even sees in him. Sure he’s gorgeous but the way he treats her by showing her how much he cares for her then pushes her away makes us dizzy and untrusting of his motives or his feelings for her. Still it’s an enjoyable summer read filled with all the feels that might just leave you out in the sun for way too long.

Wanted in Paradise by Kate Ashenden is a quick-to-read romance thriller set on the tropical nation of the Maldives. The twenty-five-year-old protagonist, Jasmine Hartwell has been on a hellish journey: surviving a typhoon in the Philippines, which killed thousands of people, and quitting her job because she cannot stand the way her boss treats her. To top it off, her ex-boyfriend has disappeared, presumed dead. After sending her condolences to his good looking superstar brother, Romeo Moretti, Jasmine is offered the chance to join him in the Maldives to help set up a concert in aid of climate change.

Readers are aware that Jasmine has had a crush on Romeo since she met him five years ago but due to their current circumstances, it would not be right for them to form a relationship while her ex, Diego is still missing. That does not stop Jasmine having strong feelings for Romeo and vice versa, however, there is another love interest on the scene. The Sheikh has fallen for Jasmine but Romeo believes he is an evil character set on destroying the concert and taking over the islands. Not only does Jasmine have to contend with this love-triangle, but Romeo's publicist also seems fixed on making things unnecessarily hard for her.

It takes a while for the reader to warm to the characters, especially as the story is fast-paced. It also takes a moment to appreciate the complexities of the storyline; it is not only about romance, but it also encompasses natural disasters, the dangers of climate change and the ignorance and selfishness of those with power. By the closing chapters, readers are enthralled with the potential of a happy-ever-after but still in the knowledge that all could backfire at the last minute.

Wanted in Paradise is Kate Ashenden's debut novel, which, whilst it has room for improvement, gives a taster of her potential. It is the ideal book for those who want a quick read and to be transported to another part of the world to escape the challenged of everyday life.

Wanted in Paradise by Kate Ashenden is a quick, light and entertaining read.

I read it in one sitting and didn’t put it down once.

When Jasmine finds out her ex-boyfriend is missing, she immediately call his brother, Romeo, to see how he is.

Romeo believing his brother just went off the grid for a bit, asks Jasmine to help with his upcoming concert to raise awareness for renewable energy and climate change.

These two have a history however. One that they never dared explore due to her relationship with his brother, Diego.

Now that Romeo and Jasmine have reconnected it’s not only the heat in the Maldives that’s hot but the passion between them as well.

With allegiance to his brother and a sheikh vying for Jasmine will they ever get their chance?

I really enjoyed this light and fluffy read.

The characters were fun and relatable.

I loved the lightness of this book but the author did touch on some serious issues like PTSD and drug abuse. Although it may have changed the overall feel of this book, I believe exploring these issues a little more would’ve added more depth and feel to this story.

I also found the whole conclusion rushed. Everything was dealt with a little too quickly for my liking.

Regardless of the ending this is wonderful beach read that I definitely recommend.

I received an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was a first time read by this author and it kept me thoroughly engaged throughout the read.
This book had twists, romance and a love triangle.

Jasmine had a tough past and decided she needed a new direction in life.
Romeo was a forbidden love that Jasmine knew would never happen but that didn’t stop her heart, he was the one man she loved and could never have.
After years from Seeing Romeo (her ex boyfriends older brother) she ran into him by chance and after catching up he offered her a job with a charity project he was organising in the Maldives. Romeo was a huge international singer, adored by millions around the world but wanted to give back to society.
Romeo also loved Jasmine but would never cross that line because of his brother.
Jasmine found herself tangled with attention from Kamal- a sheikh of the Maldives and Romeo did not like it wanting Jasmine to stay away from his advances. Rupert - Romeos assistant was someone I wanted to strangle. He was mean, jealous and threatened by Jasmine and did everything possible to make her leave.
I loved this book and will definitely read more by this author.

This is a debut book from Kate Ashenden. I love picking up a debut book, it means there is nothing to tell me what to expect. Will I love it? I always have hopes that I will enjoy it. Kate’s book, Wanted in Paradise, is a great first book. I enjoyed the beautiful beach setting, the charismatic characters, and the fun storyline.

I’d have liked more information about the concert and the reasoning behind it since it was the reason for Jasmine and Romeo to be in the Maldive Islands. There were a few side storylines that didn’t seem to add much to the story and I wonder if there should have been more about them or if I just missed their importance.

Romeo and Jasmine’s relationship was interesting and intense. They either hated each other or loved each other. It changed with each interaction. It kept me on my toes and wondering if they could ever just be or if it would always be so quick to change.

For a debut novel, this was a fun and easy read. I will be looking for more from Kate Ashenden.

This book had lots going on. There was drama, suspense, heartbreak and adventure and I did enjoy the story line. I thought that the author did an amazing job describing the scenery and making it possible for me to feel as though I could see myself in those beautiful tropical locations. I also enjoyed the love triangle created when the Sheikh started to show Jasmine attention. This really helped to open Romeo's eyes to how he was feeling.

Full of emotional moments, and some scary edge of my seat moments there were several times that I couldn't put my kindle down because I was dying to know what was going to happen next.

I do wish that the ending would have been more developed because there was so much leading up to the concert and everything happening with Diego that all of a sudden things were coming to an end and I would have loved to have gone deeper into what was happening instead of rushing to have the book end. - By Alisa

I love nothing more than being transported to a beautiful place whilst reading and that is exactly where this book takes you. It is so full of passion it makes your heart race and keeps you wanting more. I love how the storyline highlights the dangers of climate control, Such a massive and serious subject that most people don’t think about but this story gets you thinking as it reels you in with the intense passion between Romeo and Jas. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this & was gutted when it ended. I really hope there is a book to follow on from this to catch up on Romeo and Jas. I am looking forward to reading more from Kate, I think she’s done amazing with her Debut book and can see she’s going to do well. #MrsCsHonestBookReviews #Goodreads #Amazon #Kindle #Bookworm #KateAshenden https://m.facebook.com/ashendenauthor

A story of healing as well as love and suspense for Romeo and Jasmine. It took me quite a few chapters to finally get into the story. There was some confusion in the opening and the pace was simply slow. With Jasmine suffering from PTSD after a tragedy, she needs to heal and find new meaning. She re-connects with Romeo, who was disillusioned by his status as an international singing star and in need of a purpose. Romeo offers Jasmine a job and you have to really pay attention from this point on. There was a lot going on and almost a love/hate relationship between the two as well. The author had a good supporting cast of characters in place to give us some humor, a little "mean girl/boy" drama, and suspense. This was an easy read. From a technical perspective, it was well-structured, no grammatical or punctuational errors to be found.

Jasmine has been a victim of tragedy. This has brought on PTSD and strength. She is working through it while taking a job in a great location. Having excellent man candy doesn't hurt either.

Romeo is the brother of an ex. Jasmine has always had a crush on him, and there have been many times just thinking of him has gotten her through tough times. While she has her choices of many, this one is her personal favorite.

This story was slow to start, and I did have trouble at first getting into it. There is a lot going on. A lot of setting to discover. Nicely done, we find the characters in an amazing locale. There is a bunch of surprises in store for the reader. Humor, heat, and even some tension to complete the book.

Jasmine and Romeo’s story it gave me my favorite feels. Being in love with your ex boyfriend’s brother had to have been hard especially seeing as said brother is a famous singer! The chemistry between these two is so obvious but Romeo fights it because he doesn’t want to hurt his brother or family. Both trying to deal with their pain brings them together in setting up a concert to help bring Renewable Energy and it’s benefits to the entire world. Absolutely enjoyed this book to the fullest! This is Kate Ashenden’s debut novel! As I was reading I kept thinking no way is this her first book I devoured it!!

Jasmine survived a typhoon in the Philippines while visiting relatives. Some of her family were killed as well as a lot of others. When she returns home it is to find that an ex- boyfriend Diego has gone missing. She gets in touch with his brother Romeo Moretti, to say that she hopes he turns up. Romeo invites her to his home and then asks her to accompany him to the Maldives. Jasmine agrees she has loved Romeo for five years. She left her boyfriend Diego because of the way he treated her but hoped Romeo would say how he felt about her. Romeo is putting on a concert about climate control. There is trouble and jasmine gets kidnapped and robbed. This is a good story that I’ll leave you to read the rest

Wow the things that Jasmine went through. How sad , I really felt so bad for her. She suffered from PTSD. I guess when you lose a family memeber the way she did. It was a hard Pill to swollow. Finding romance in her ex Diego brother really put me on edge. It was many twist and turns. It was like I wanted to Jasmine and Romero to love eachother . Then deep down I didnt. I guess Love conquers it all . I couldnt stand Rupert. His attitude was bad and I wanted him to get away! Clive was a funny dude , but a hardcore drunk

This was a really good read. I look forward to reading more from this author. It was something didfferent than my usual type of books and I like it❣️

Wanted in Paradise is a good read. Jasmine's ex Diego is missing so she reaches out to his brother Romeo. She has a crush on Romeo. Jasmine goes to The Maldives with Romeo to help him with his benefit concert. I liked both Romeo and Jasmine but they didn't hook me into the story right away. What hooked me was the suspense part of the story. Jassime's and Romeo's connection wasn't super great with me but throw in a Romoe's creepy manager, Rupert, and a weird Saudi Arabia Sheikh, Kamal, and I was is hooked. And yeah I grow to Like Romeo and Jasmine together more and I did root for them to get a HEA.

Danger, suspense, heat, and tension
Wanted in Paradise offers suspense, romance, a villain or two, a bit of a love triangle, and danger. While I didn’t really get into the lead character’s personalities, their relationship was an interesting up and down ride. The story is written in third person. It offers informative dialogue about the beautiful Maldives locale and Romeo’s passion for climate change. Interesting secondary characters. I did find I was more into the story from the midpoint. Good start for this author’s debut.

Wanted in Paradise is the debut book for this author and I feel like she may be on to something.
For her first book, I thought it was good. I’m not a big fan of third person writing because it makes it hard for me to connect with the characters so I think that was my biggest struggle with it. It also started off slow and took a bit for me to get invested in the story, all that being said, I enjoyed it. I did love where Romeo and Jasmine ended up, and loved that they had some much to wade through before they got their HEA!
I look forward to watching for more from this author.

This is a fabulous holiday read. I couldn’t put it down and read it in a day whilst relaxing by the pool on holiday.
It’s set in the stunning Maldives, which is described so beautifully that you can just image being there along side Jasmine.
The book pulls you in as a reader, builds suspense and is gripping in places.
I absolutely loved reading it and found it to be a satisfying, tension building beautiful storey-line.

Does love conquers all? Wanted in Paradise, is a steamy romantic suspense novel filled with plenty of drama, tension, not to mention forbidden love. Swoon worthy wealthy men in a story that is set in the Maldives. Paradise is not lost and neither is love. Passion is high but of course there are complications. Love is a powerful thing and internal and external battles are no match for a HEA.

I really enjoyed Wanted In Paradise. I am always hesitant when it comes to romance novels as some can make me blush too much. The book did have some passionate scenes, but they were tastefully written. The descriptions of the characters were perfect and Ashenden did a really great job painting a picture of the villas and setting of the Maldives. Highly recommend it for anyone who loves a good romance novel.

I must first say, just because I didn't enjoy this book doesn't mean someone else won't. It's just not my cup of tea. It just did not grab my attention and I found myself growning and asking if it will ever end. It did allow me to picture the islands. The descriptions were well written. but the story felt choppy to me. Considering this is a debut, I have to say it's better than some I've read that were not. I think others will really like this book.

Triumph after tragedy, is the focus of this great read. The story of loss and love between Jasmine and a Romeo was beautifully written and had loads of twists and turns. The reader so wants a HEA for both while each chapter kept getting better and better. This book has me locked in from the beginning and the adventure got deeper and deeper. This was a great book.

Jasmine and Romeo, circumstances bring them back into each other's lives. She dated his brother so this could become forbidden love. Mysterious acts of sabotage are happening, who is at fault?
This is a debut novel so I look forward to more by this author as she learns to polish her craft. Some of the book kept me riveted and other parts waffled on a bit. All in all an entertaining story.
