Eric Santiago may be a prince who doesn't kiss and tell, but sources have confirmed that the royal bachelor is going to be a father!
Now the former naval officer is planning on installing the mother-to-be—beautiful texas bartender Molly Shea—in the royal palace. Talk about a fish out of water! The rumors are flying about whether the couple will tie the knot before the newest heir to the throne is born. We're all waiting to see whether Molly will say yes and get the happy ending of her dreams—and give all of us in Tesoro del Mar a royal Christmas wedding we'll never forget!
According to her mother, she fell in love with books even before she could read and was always content when she had a book in her hands. It didn’t surprise anyone when she decided that she wanted to be a writer, but she was encouraged to pursue “a real job” first.
So she did—she became a lawyer. Two years of practicing law taught her a lot about the world—and reinforced her determination to become a writer. Because in fiction, she could promise a happy ending!
Thankfully, she had already met and married a wonderful man to inspire her fictional heroes. And when she was on maternity leave after the birth of their first son, he encouraged her to take a romance writing course at the local community college. It was while enrolled in this class that she completed her first (still unpublished) manuscript.
Three more manuscripts and another baby followed. And then, in June 2002, she finally got the call from Susan Litman—an editorial assistant and contest judge—offering to buy the manuscript she’d submitted to RWA’s Golden Heart® contest as “From This Moment.” This story was re-titled McIver’s Mission and released by Silhouette Intimate Moments in May 2003.
I can't say I enjoy royal romances the way I used to, now it just seems like that would be a nightmare of a life to live haha. That said, I thought this book was good. Your standard pregnancy trope but a good enough book that I might try and find the other books in the series to read. Unfortunately, I can't seem to think of one specific thing to say that says "Hey, you've got to read this book!". I look at it more as a quite pleasant time killer.
Eric walks into a bar and meets Molly for the first time, she is a bartender and he is a Prince. She doesn't know that of course. When they engage into a one night stand and he is gone the next morning before Molly awakens, she accepts the fact she won't see him again. Although she had developed feelings for him as soon as he walked into her bar. Eric is the same way, he thinks of her on and off until by unusual circumstance, they meet again. They are both mutual friends of Fiona and Scott who are getting married. When they reunite with each other, Molly is confused on how to tell Eric, she is pregnant with his child.
I felt more emotionally connected to these characters. Brenda Harlen did an excellent job of getting her readers to feel the emotional strain of Molly and Eric. It was pretty brilliant, you just felt absorbed into the book, like you were Molly or you were Eric. It was truly beautiful!
Royalty stories are not really my thing. I also don't really like stories where the characters fall into bed within hours of meeting each other. I also didn't like that the heroine took so long to tell the hero about the pregnancy. She planned to tell him, but just kept stalling until he figured it out himself.
