This is a brilliant anthology of scholarly articles related to the Dead Sea Scrolls. Charlesworth goes through and asses how Jesus was like the Essenes and how he was very different. The book proves that Jesus was not an Essene. The book also includes some very interesting analysis of some parables in light of evidence learned at Qumran. I especially enjoyed the discussion of Jesus' views of taxation.
